I own a 2020 Kia Optima. My vehicle has experienced repeated low-pressure fuel pump failures, causing hard starting, loss of power, and stalling risk. These issues first appeared in July 2023 and have recurred despite multiple repairs. The dealership has replaced the upper portion of the fuel pump three times (July 10, 2023; March 1, 2025; June 9, 2025) for the same issue, but the problem persist
... s. Most recently, in August 2025, the vehicle again exhibited difficulty starting and loss of power. Diagnostic code P123300 was found, indicating the pump is not generating enough pressure. The dealership confirmed the entire fuel pump assembly needs replacement. This is a serious safety concern because the vehicle has gone into limp mode three times while driving — twice previously on the freeway, and again on [XXX]. On that date, I experienced sudden loss of power while driving, but I had a scheduled oil change on July 29, 2025 so I waited until then to bring the car in. At that visit, the dealership claimed the problem was only an old code P0456 and that my car needed a software update. However, the very next day, my vehicle went into limp mode yet again, creating another hazardous driving situation. My check engine light has repeatedly illuminated, and each failure matches the conditions described in Kia’s extended warranty program (WTY028) for low-pressure fuel pump failures on my model year. The warranty extension letter (WTY028) for my vehicle states that “repairs related to low-pressure fuel pump failure” are covered for 15 years/150,000 miles. It does not state that only the upper portion of the pump is covered. However, my dealership (Sands Kia Surprise) insists that Kia will only cover the upper portion, even though my issue requires replacement of the entire fuel pump assembly to correct the failure. This repeated failure creates a dangerous driving condition and appears to be part of a larger defect affecting this model’s fuel delivery system. I am reporting a recurring issue with my 2025 Honda Odyssey, which exhibits difficulty starting the engine. Approximately two months after purchasing the vehicle in Dec 2024, the original battery failed and was replaced under warranty. However, the vehicle continues to experience problems when attempting to start. When I press the start button, the engine hesitates, cranks slowly, or feels as thou
... gh it nearly fails to start. This issue occurs intermittently, regardless of weather conditions or the duration the vehicle has been parked. No warning lights or error messages have appeared on the dashboard The problem has occurred multiple times, most recently on Friday August 15th 2025, and creates a safety concern, as the vehicle’s unreliable starting could leave me stranded in potentially hazardous situations, such as remote locations or adverse weather. I have not yet had the vehicle inspected by a dealer for this specific issue, but I plan to schedule a service appointment to diagnose the problem. The prior battery replacement suggests potential issues with the electrical system, starter, or related components, possibly linked to the auto start/stop system currently under NHTSA investigation for 2018–2025 Honda Odyssey models. Additionally when driving down the road especially at low speeds the engine hesitates as if it’s not getting enough gasoline. Lastly the AppleCarplay screen and all other associated screens randomly go out. I have been to the dealership 3 times for repairs and they give me the run around saying they don’t notice anything so Honda won’t pay for anything and send me on my way.Read more

Had a recall. I wasn't available on the date or a week or so after the appointment date. An ex of mine that had no authority to take my Range Rover into the dealership for the recall to get fixed, used my driver's license to get a rental Land Rover to use while my Range Rover was supposedly being fixed for the leaking fuel tank recall. ... a $70,000 Land Rover while mine was getting fixed for recall. I figure out what happened & where my vehicle was & got the rental back to me in order to go get my vehicle back. I got to take it home,2 days later transmission messed up wouldn't shift out of park, started over heating,& I had to pull it with a rope from the store back home to park it. When I looked under the vehicle cause I was trying to figure out why it was majorly overheating, I then realized the gas was just pouring out near the transmission pan, which is where the fuel line runs from the top of the gas tank. My recall was for the fuel tank leaking originally. Now, Land Rover refuses to fix this major safety hazard/defect, stating that the gas pouring out doesn't stem from the recall. Which is complete bullshit! Nothing was wrong with my vehicle when I bought it only a few months before I received the notice about the recall. Now, I can't drive it & it's sitting at the dealership that did the recall & didn't fix it. They towed it 2 days ago to their shop & called me the next day saying that the fuel pouring out & overheating doesn't have anything to do with recall or what they've done. Which is a lie. So, now my car is sitting up at the dealership off of DFW airport & they are expecting me to pay to get it towed back home & that they aren't going to fix my vehicle that they have totally destroyed. I can't get anyone to talk to me or return my calls. I can't get anyone to help me with this. They just hang up or give me a hard time about it & are denying what they have caused for my vehicle. On 8/12/2025, he vehicle displayed a warning that said "Stop Safely, Vehicle will shut off soon" shortly after it was parked. It also displayed a red turtle and the check engine light. There was no warning or check engine light prior to the message that the vehicle was going to shut off. Fortunately, we had already parked safely, but were on the freeway traveling and about an hour away from home.
... It was 100 degrees outside, and we were stranded with no help from Chrysler customer care other than to tow the vehicle, leaving our kids and dog in a parking lot with no car. We declined this option and had it checked by a diagnostic computer at Jiffy Lube, which returned no diagnostic code. Eventually, all of the warnings and check engine lights went off, and we were able to take it home. We took it to the dealership at the earliest opportunity on 08/14, and they confirmed that this is a known issue and would require a transmission replacement. There is no timeline on the repair or replacement, only that it will take "a while". They do not advise that we take the van back because the issue could come nback at any moment and the vehicle could shut off without warning.Read more

The failures first appeared while driving up hill. It was not inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance. The problem was not taken to dealer or independent service center to confirm since the car is out of warranty and cost to diagnose is ridiculously high. I myself diagnosed the failures and found that the mechanical fuel pump Part# 16790-5PC-H02 seized up and was not providing enough fuel to engine. And diagnosed that the waste gate actuator arm was to loose due to worn out bushings. (Poor engineering in my opinion since there is no way to replace just the bushings on the actuator causing customers to replace the entire turbo.) While refueling my 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie with the large (33 gal) fuel tank, the fuel pump "vacuum-assisted automatic shutoff" or "nozzle shutoff mechanism" is triggered dozens of times prior to the tank actually reaching a full level. I have been experiencing this issue consistently for the past year and it has occurred, to the same degree, at each of the fill-ups conducted at a variety of gas sta
... tions during this time. I've had an independent service center diagnose the issue and they recommended I take it to a dealer for service and also report the issue because this has been a common issue they have seen. Other Ram 1500 owners on internet forums also report having had this issue. The safety issue is that gas may become trapped in a fuel system component where it shouldn't be collecting which exposes vehicle occupants to an increased risk of fire in the event of an accident. Furthermore, this condition makes it nearly impossible to know when the fuel tank is full because the shutoff mechanism is triggered many times prior to full. This results in over-filling the tank and possibly having fuel remain in the filler neck, which also unnecessarily increases the risk to vehicle occupants to fire or explosion if involved in an accident. Vehicle owner manuals and gas station pump warning stickers typically warn operators of the dangers of over-filling or "topping off" fuel tanks specifically for this reason. With the system not operating correctly, the risk of overfilling is severe and unsafe.Read more
