While towing a trailer on Highway 77 in northern Wisconsin, my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 experienced a sudden engine failure. The dashboard lit up with alerts for the engine, transmission, ABS, and traction control. I safely pulled over in a 55 mph zone with narrow shoulders and heavy truck traffic due to nearby road construction. The truck lost all power, and I had to block the driving lane to transfe
... r the trailer to another vehicle, creating a hazardous situation. There were no prior warnings or issues. The truck had regular service at independent shops, and I had checked and topped off the oil that morning. Lahti Towing & Service recovered the vehicle, changed the oil (no metal shavings), and replaced the camshaft sensor, but the truck still wouldn’t start. They then towed it to Rhinelander GMC, where a broken timing chain was diagnosed, requiring a full engine replacement. The vehicle is currently at Rhinelander GMC and available for inspection. Received recall notice 24N07 from Ford in December 2024, stating that we should get the canister purge valve replaced if the vehicle ever displayed any of the listed symptoms. The vehicle started displaying symptoms in April 2025. Brought the vehicle to Kruse Motors, Ford Service dealership in Marshall, MN. They replaced the canister purge valve. Shortly after this, the vehicle was still displayin
... g symptoms of running out of gas, even though the gauge said it had 3/4 tank still. Continued to drive it for a few months, but continued to get worse and the car almost died a couple of times while driving at highway speeds. This could have caused an accident because the engine was stalling while still in gear, causing the vehicle to suddenly jerk and decrease speed rapidly. Brought the vehicle back to Kruse Motors, Ford Service dealership and they found that the fuel tank was collapsing. The technician stated that this was most likely caused by the canister purge valve malfunction that was part of the recall. Because of this, they submitted a request to Ford to replace the tank and any necessary parts and labor as a result of this damage. Ford responded saying that they will not cover this as it is not part of the recall. I appealed to Ford customer service explaining that the damage was caused by the recall but they still refused to do anything about it. The dealership gave me a quote for $2600 to repair the issue. Ford has created an unsafe situation by not replacing the necessary parts caused by the malfunctioning canister purge system.Read more

On Sunday October 12th, 2025, we were driving in Grand Rapids,MN when our truck (2002 Silverado [XXX] ) suddenly lost power. We were on a main highway without shoulders. The truck would not restart. Brakes - When descending down a hill at speed the brakes on my truck pulsate as if the rotors are warped. My truck currently has 16k miles. The brakes should last 40k-60k miles with no problem. Engine/fuel system - Since new, my truck has never met the window sticker EPA ratings listed. 22-23 models being recalled due to engine failure leads me to believe my engine is not performing at peak performance, thus, affecting fuel economy. I am afraid my model (built in 2023) is slowly experiencing the same main bearing failure as the 22-23 models suffered, having catastrophic results and was recalled to have a full engine replacement. My engine failing while driving could result in a crash harming myself, my family, or other motorists. I prefer not to wait for my engine to fail, given the fact that 22-23 models have all been recalled due to this manufacturing defect. Some, if not all 2024 models should also be recalled out of abundance of precaution.Read more

I have had issues with fueling the vehicle as when I fuel it I am only able to get a few cents in at a time before the gas pump clicks off or gas starts coming out of the fuel filler neck itself. At most I have been able to fill up my tank halfway but when I try to fill it a few cents worth of gas above halfway, I have engine stalling issues. To try to solve this issue I replaced all the external
... fuel vapor parts (charcoal cannister, EGR valve, PCV valve, purge solenoid, gas cap, and leak detection pump). The issue is clearly a problem with the internal components of the fuel tank itself. Chrysler has a X53 lifetime warranty for my type of vehicle but only for 19 gallon fuel tanks and my car has an 18 gallon tank. However, NHTSA investigation PE13-016 has shown that the defect (a swollen vent valve) affects both sizes of tanks. Chrysler said that the X53 lifetime warranty on the defective tank is VIN specific and would not cover my vehicle because it has a 18 gallon tank. Now my vehicle dashboard is saying that the gas cap is leaking but the gas cap was just replaced thus this further points to a pressure issue within the tank. Chrysler dealerships will not help me and contacting FCA resulted in them just telling me to contact a dealer to check if the warranty is available for me.Read more

I am submitting this report regarding a serious safety issue with my 2025 Honda Passport related to the auto stop/start feature. When this feature is enabled, the vehicle frequently struggles to restart smoothly after coming to a stop. The engine often hesitates and sounds as if it may not start at all. On September 26, 2025, the problem escalated into a complete failure. While turning left at a
... n intersection, the auto stop/start feature engaged, shutting off the engine. When I attempted to accelerate, the vehicle failed to restart and became fully disabled in the middle of traffic. This created an immediate and significant safety hazard. Law enforcement was called to the scene, and a tow truck was dispatched. However, due to incorrect information and safety concerns, I did not proceed with the tow. Fortunately, the police were able to jump-start the vehicle, allowing me to drive it directly to the dealership. The dealership confirmed that there is an issue but has been unable to replicate the complete failure. They have performed two battery tests, both of which returned normal results. While they acknowledge the problem, they have not been able to formally diagnose it. I have since learned that similar issues and recalls have been reported for earlier Honda model years, suggesting that this problem may still exist in newer vehicles, including the 2025 Passport. Since the incident, I have been disabling the auto stop/start feature every time I drive in order to avoid being stranded again. However, hesitation during restarts continues to occur daily when the feature is active. Given the severity of the safety risk and the inability of the dealership to diagnose or resolve the issue, I am requesting that Honda conduct a formal investigation into this malfunction and take appropriate corrective action. This issue should be fully addressed under warranty, as it directly affects the safety and reliability of the vehicle.Read more

I purchased this 2020 Mercedes-Benz C300 only two months ago and have driven it less than 3,000 miles. The Carfax report shows consistent maintenance and regular service history by prior owners. While driving, the check engine light came on and the vehicle began shaking and running roughly. Diagnostics by Peachtree Imports (10/03/2025) and later by Mercedes-Benz of Atlanta South confirmed Cylinde
... r #2 failure on the M264 2.0L engine at only 26,589 miles. The dealer’s report states: “Cylinder #2 mixture formation out of spec. Fault occurred due to worn exhaust valve seat. Cylinder head replacement required.” Estimated repair cost: $10,470.66. This causes misfire, loss of power, and unsafe drivability. The failure matches Mercedes-Benz Technical Service Bulletin LI01.30-P-072328 (2021), which documents valve-seat leakage in M264 engines requiring head replacement. The vehicle is outside warranty but has extremely low mileage, and MBUSA Case #18392667 remains unresolved. It is also important to note that the M260 engine, which is mechanically identical to the M264 but mounted transversely, has already received a warranty extension from Mercedes-Benz for the same cylinder-head and valve-seat defect. This indicates a systemic issue across both engine families, presenting a safety risk of sudden power loss or engine stall during operation.Read more

... when the accelerator stopped and the engine started sputtering again. This time, we weren't able to reach a safe stopping point and the engine died on the road. My family was with me at the time, so we had to push the car in neutral to the closest safe space. In both cases, our safety and the safety was others was put at risk as the car become unable to accelerate, and the car stops moving. We had to get out on the road and push the car with oncoming traffic. The problem was confirmed by the dealer in both cases, and they replaced the fuel injectors in both cases. So far, they've replaced 3 out of the 4 fuel injectors so I still drive in fear of another fuel injector causing a breakdown while I'm driving. There were no warnings or symptoms prior to the failure so there was no way to know to stop driving and to stop in a safe spot. We were fortunate to be able to move the car to a safe place for both instances, but if this had happened on the highway or secluded location, our lives could've been at risk. Dear NHTSA Representative, I am writing to formally report a recurring and unresolved fuel system issue with my 2025 Honda Accord EX, which I believe may point to a potential manufacturing defect or calibration problem affecting fuel delivery or measurement accuracy. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have observed a consistent and concerning pattern: whenever I refuel the car to a completely full
... tank, the fuel gauge almost immediately begins to drop. Within 5 to 10 minutes of operating the vehicle—sometimes within 30 minutes—the gauge already loses one full bar. This happens regardless of driving conditions or distance traveled. Under normal circumstances, I would expect a new Honda Accord to retain a full-tank reading for a reasonable period after refueling and to achieve the expected range between fill-ups. Instead, I am experiencing extremely rapid depletion. At best, each full tank lasts me approximately three to four days of moderate driving, far less than a week. For clarity: •I do not idle the vehicle unnecessarily. •I do not run the air conditioner; I usually drive with the windows open. •I operate the vehicle under normal conditions, without aggressive acceleration or excessive loads. Despite routine 125-point inspections and regular maintenance at authorized service centers, no visible leaks or external faults have been identified. Yet, the issue persists unchanged. The dealer’s technicians have been unable to detect a mechanical cause, and the vehicle’s diagnostic systems have not shown error codes related to the fuel system. Given these circumstances, I am deeply concerned that there may be an underlying defect in the fuel delivery system, fuel-pump calibration, or fuel-level sender module, potentially affecting not just my vehicle but others of the same model year. If the system is over-pressurizing or mismanaging the rate of fuel consumption, that would represent both a safety risk and an efficiency failure. I am therefore requesting that tRead more

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a premature and dangerous failure of the high-pressure fuel pump in my 2019 Honda Odyssey, VIN [XXX] . This component failure occurred while my wife was travelling from New Jersey to central New York on Saturday, August 9, 2025, leaving our vehicle disabled and creating a significant safety risk and financial burden. I am formally requesting full r
... eimbursement for the repair and towing costs. On that date, while [XXX] was driving our vehicle through Jim Thorpe, PA, the fuel pump failed suddenly and without warning. The "emissions system problem" and "brake system problem" messages appeared on the dashboard, and the engine began "coughing" and "stuttering" before losing all motive power. This is an unacceptable and extreme safety hazard for a vehicle of this age (70,000 miles). [XXX] was forced to have the vehicle towed to our local Honda service center, Burns Honda in Marlton, NJ. Technicians at Burns Honda diagnosed the failure, noting diagnostic trouble code P0087, indicating that the rail fuel pressure was too low. According to their report, they confirmed an internal fault with the high-pressure fuel pump after observing the fuel pressure had plummeted from a normal 3000 PSI to just 70 PSI. The necessary repair was a full replacement of the high-pressure fuel pump with Honda-genuine part kit 06161-RLV-305. While I understand my specific VIN may not currently be under an active recall for this component, my research shows that Honda is acutely aware of systemic issues with fuel pumps across its lineup. Honda has issued massive recalls (e.g., NHTSA Campaign Number 23V-799) for fuel pumps in millions of 2018-2020 models, including the Odyssey, Accord, and CR-V. ... commercial van. This is ludicrous and a failure to correct a known defect and expecting the customer to pay the bill. It is also disturbing that the NHTSA does not communicate to the complaint or direct mercedes to FIX the problem. What happened to Quality and Customer care?Read more

I own a 2018 Lexus NX F Sport and have had repeated fuel pump failures since purchasing the vehicle in October 2022. We have replaced the fuel pump twice — once at the dealership where we bought it and again less than a year ago. Despite these repairs, the same issue continues to occur. There were no warning lights before the failure, but once it happens, the check engine light turns on, the tr
... action control light comes on, and the vehicle goes into limp mode. When this happens, the car will not accelerate when pressing the gas pedal. It slows down rapidly and eventually stalls completely. This has happened multiple times, including once in the middle of Dallas traffic and another time while driving to Midland, TX. Each time, my children were in the car with me, putting all of us at serious risk. I have read about the Lexus fuel pump recall affecting similar models and years, and my vehicle is showing the exact same symptoms, yet my VIN is not included in that recall. I believe my vehicle should be reviewed for inclusion in the existing Lexus fuel pump recall, as this ongoing defect poses a major safety hazard to me and others on the road. Recall number: 20LA01 for Lexus (low-pressure fuel pump) — for certain 2018–2019 Nexuses and other Lexus models. Description: “Low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail. If it fails, warning lights and messages may display and the engine may stall while driving.” Additional support: 23LE01 (a Customer Support Program, not a direct recall) covers certain model years with low-pressure fuel pump defects, repairing under this program until July 15 2036 or 150 k miles. I believe my vehicle may fall under recall 20LA01 (Lexus low-pressure fuel pump) or the subsequent support program 23LE01, because the symptoms and repeated fuel pump failures match exactly, yet my VIN returns no open recall. My car currently has 144,400 miles on it. I’d like to get it fixed as swiftly as possible. Diagnostic tests are too costly.Read more

Despite being up-to-date on recalls for this vehicle intended to address failures with the integrated charging control unit (ICCU), I still experienced an ICCU failure. I was driving along a surface road at approximately 40 mph for about 9 minutes when I heard a pop that sounded like cargo shifting in the rear cargo area. The vehicle then flashed a "Check EV System" warning but otherwise continued
... to operate normally. About 2 minutes later, there was a warning to stop vehicle and check power supply. After I pulled into a parking lot, I restarted the vehicle, but the errors persisted. I had the vehicle towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed as an ICCU failure. The vehicle was last charged ~15 hours before the failure on a level 2 charger at a peak rate of 6 kw. The vehicle was driven for about an hour after charging, sat overnight, before being driven when the failure occurred. The vehicle is primarily charged using level 1 and 2 charging, typically not exceeding 6.3 kw. Only a handful of times has level 2 charging rates exceeded 6.3 kw. The vehicle previously had the ICCU fail and replaced in 2023. The car is still at the dealership with no repair timeline.Read more

I lease a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN [XXX] ). On 10/23/2025, while traveling about 50 mph, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion and the dash displayed “Put in Park to drive.” I had to coast through traffic, stop, shift to Park, and fully restart to regain drive. Within minutes it recurred. This defect is unpredictable and dangerous. I regularly commute on the Ohio Turnpike at highway speeds
... and I cannot risk driving this vehicle because it can cut power without warning, leaving me unable to accelerate while surrounding traffic closes in. I am avoiding highway use entirely and limiting all driving due to the high risk of rear-end collision during a power loss. The vehicle is unsafe to operate until a permanent remedy exists. Background: the vehicle has previously exhibited powertrain/electrical issues (including overheating) and spent ~2.5 weeks at the dealer over the summer. Early incidents occurred under 18,000 miles. Recall context: Mopar and NHTSA show an open safety recall A7C / 25V-710 on my VIN for loss of motive power; status “remedy not yet available.” The vehicle is available for inspection by NHTSA or the manufacturer. I can provide screenshots/video of the “Put in Park to drive” message and repair records upon request. My vehicle stalls while driving or after pumping fuel and I frequently have to "fart" it is the only thing I can describe it as. The opening to the fuel tank will start vibrating and making noises. If I do not pull over, the minute I let off the gas, it stalls out. In addition, when I pump gas, it takes 4-5 times to start it. It dies 3 or 4 times before it will turn over and I have to press the g
... as pedal and take off as soon as it starts so it doesn't die. I have been able to get it to stay running, but barely, when adding a small amount of fuel. It chugs and rpms go up while I'm pumping like it's about to die. If I put more than 10 dollars in, it dies while fueling and I get stranded. It's getting worse. I'm listing the date as today, but this started in 2023 or so and I bought the vehicle in 2017Read more

The car was at a red light so it automatically stopped. when the lights turned green, I removed my foot from the break and the car would not move. I had to call OnStar for roadside assistance and they called the police to make sure I was safe and that traffic flowed safely. My car was towed to the dealership after they tried to start the car by the key and my jumper cables. The car would not start
... . The dealership is unable to start the car as well and they are saying that the issue with the fuel pump is not under the most recent recall for my VIN number. I was able to locate the recall for the same exact issue that I’m having under my VIN number on the GMC website. I have filed a report with the GMC manufacturer to try and get this issue fixed. I have brought this car in multiple times to the dealership I purchased from and an additional dealership to show them the issues that I have been having with this car starting and stopping, I could have been ran over by a public transportation bus today.Read more
