My 2023 Chevrolet Suburban with the 5.3L V8 engine has experienced lifter failure twice within less than [20,000 miles]. Recall service was performed on the fuel system. The vehicle was operating normally before the recall. Shortly after the recall service, the fuel gauge failed and became stuck at mid-level. Dealer refuses to cover the repair and claims it is unrelated, but the timing and failure of another fuel system component suggests otherwise. This presents a safety issue because the driver cannot determine fu
... el level or range and may impact other recalled vehicles and should be included in the repair of the fuel system. The recall that was performed on the vehicle was "Safety Recall 20UF - Suction Jet Pump". I believe the timing of the failure suggests that the recall work impacted the vehicle fuel system and I don't believe it's fair for customers following safety recalls to be punished and required to pay for further damages caused from a recall on the vehicle.Read more

After recall 20AE (Fuel Pump Control Module) was completed at Performance Volkswagen in Lyndhurst, NJ, my vehicle began shutting off while idling and displayed code P0087 – Fuel Rail/System Pressure Too Low. This issue began immediately after the recall was done. On one of the first nights after the repair, my car suddenly shut off around 4 a.m. while I was in New York City, leaving me completel
... y stranded in the middle of the street with no assistance and no warning lights beforehand. I was panicking, stuck alone in the dark, unable to restart the car until it was jumped. The next night, it happened again under the same conditions. The vehicle stalls randomly when stopped, creating a serious safety risk for both myself and others on the road. When I returned to the dealer, they refused to fix it under the recall and forced me to pay $220 under protest. Their own technician report shows they checked the fuel pump control module (the recalled component) but still claimed it was “operating as designed.” My independent mechanic confirmed the same fault code P0087, which clearly points to low fuel pressure and a failure of the recall component. This situation has caused significant distress, fear of driving, and ongoing safety concerns.Read more

On August 26, 2025, I brought my 2018 Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid to an authorized dealer for recall SC218 (engine inspection and KSDS software update). The dealer verbally stated both SC218 and SC278 recalls were completed, and the repair order (RO #XXX) lists them as performed. In September 2025, Kia America emailed me showing recall SC218 still open, and a warranty coverage report dated Septembe
... r 26, 2025, again listed SC218 as unclosed. On November 4, 2025, NHTSA’s official VIN lookup confirmed the recall remains “Incomplete.” On October 21, 2025, Kia America emailed me under Case #XXX stating that SC218 was “confirmed completed” and that the dealer performed a software update to the ECU, referencing RO #XXX. However, NHTSA’s database still lists recall SC218 as incomplete. This contradiction between Kia America’s internal record, the dealer’s invoice, and the federal NHTSA database raises a serious safety concern that the recall inspection or software update was never actually performed or was never reported correctly. I have requested written proof and diagnostic data (Battery SOH report) multiple times but have not received them. If accurate, this means I was led to believe my vehicle’s engine-safety recall had been repaired when federal records still list it as open. I am requesting NHTSA to review this reporting discrepancy, ensure Kia America and the dealer produce verifiable proof of completion, and confirm that the federal record is corrected. For the first 39 months of my ownership my 2021 Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring plug-in electric hybrid would not charge properly and resulted in thousands of charge station fault alerts. The dealership was dismissive of the issue for years because it seemed to work for the few minutes when they charged it on their high voltage charger even though I voiced concerns about the charger port being bad
... on the vehicle and it not working properly at home. My Aviator would not charge unless the plug was in the exact perfect spot and rarely would make it to a full charge before faulting out. Eventually the port started making SPARKING NOISES, ELECTRIC FIRE SMELLS, and SMOKES when plugged in. I was afraid my Aviator was going to start a fire and burn my house down, so I stopped charging it for at least 6 months until a new service manager finally took the time to investigate the issue. It was found in May 2024 that not only was the charger cable that came with my Aviator when I bought it defective but so was the charger port on my vehicle. The use, value, and safety of my vehicle impaired significantly for several years by this issue. I am reporting this so that there is awareness that the Aviator plug-in hybrid charger port and charger cable can be defective which results in loss of charging capability and could result in a fire.Read more

I attempted to add gas to a 3/4 full fuel tank (given that I had a long drive that day and needed a full tank). Fuel would not enter the tank, no matter how slow I seemed to pump the gas. I had filled up a few days prior and driven the car about 100 miles since. ... e components in the fuel system had failed. The service advisor stated that there was a recall on a different model, but same platform of Audi, but that recall did not apply to my car. I have since read that there is an investigation on fuel issues on my model by the NHTSA. I have also seen recall information about VW and Audi vehicles and models similar to my car. This appears to be a major and frequent safety issue. If not quickly remedied, fuel can leak and/or evaporate out of the tank or into the charcoal canister and fill an area with gas fumes. In addition, not being able to add fuel to a car is a major problem which can leave a driver stranded or incapable of using their vehicle. There were no warning lights or fault codes.Read more

My vehicle had a faulty PCV valve that was under "Stop Drive," order. I received no correspondence from the NHTSA nor from BMW of North America in regards to this. It was finally picked up, towed to the dealership for repairs related to the PCV recall. The PCV valve was replaced and my vehicle was returned to me in undriveable condition. None of the rough idle, burning smell or engine issues were attended to. They simply replaced the valve without further investigation into the damage done by continued driving of a "Stop Drive," order. BMW of North America is placing blame solely on the NHTSA for not sending me correspondence relative to this recall. My vehicle was identified as having the faulty Takata airbags and I received all of the documents sent by both the NHTSA and BMW USA. I now have a undriveable, unsafe vehicle due to the servicer simply replacing a recalled object but not the damage caused by continuing to drive a vehicle that should have had immediate service. We were located right by the fire as we were driving. It was under us, in front of us and growing around us. Others were put at risk because there was a large fire on the side of the freeway as other vehicles were driving by. I am deeply concerned about the safety and reliability of the vehicle, especially since these issues arose immediately after the recall repair. I am currently unable to afford the repair, and I fear the vehicle may pose a risk to myself and others on the road. This situation has caused me significant stress and anxiety. The unexpected financial burden has disrupted my personal and professional life, and I feel unsafe driving a vehicle that may have underlying defects. I am frustrated that a recall repair may have led to even more severe mechanical issues, and I am left without clear support or resolution. I had no choice but to pay for the repairs out of pocket, despite the financial strain. I know this has probably been posted. Driving last night with the wife and I smell fuel. Then the gas gauge starts to drop from full to empty in less than 3 minutes. I pull over, the car shuts down. I see fuel on the passenger side , just in front of the tire. Get the car safely towed home. I pop the back seat and remove the access cover for the fuel pump. See picture. This is how I found the fuel
... line. The green locking tab was not locked. Even though theirs a green paint mark to confirm the fuel line is secure. Obviously not. The locking tab barely engages and is so easy to move to the unlocked position with no effort at all. Stellantis should be embarrassed that a vehicle left their plant in an unsafe condition. Either the locking tab was not engaged fully or in my opinion a terrible design. It should lock with some effort. With the high pressure the fuel system is under there should be a better locking mechanism. This is a poor design. My car is not modified, has only 2,000 miles on it and has never been tracked. To me a design flaw or piss poor installation tech is responsible. The car could have caught on fire and hurt someone if it was in my garage. These lines should use aircraft style fasteners for the fuel lines, especially at the top of the pump. I have seen at least 12 other instances like this online. That means there are many more. There needs to be a recall that changes the fuel pump and a much more reliable fastening and locking system. These car were and are not cheap. I’ve never complained here or anywhere. I really enjoy the car. But now my confidence in the vehicle’s safety is very much in question. When I called Chrysler roadside assistance they said I couldn’t get a two until Monday 11-3. WTH! @DodgeCares sounds like you don’t really care. The BMW dealership that I have bought two cars from where out in 30 minutes to help and get me and my car home.Read more

Nissan announced recall R24B2 on September 19, 2024. The vehicle is at risk of overheating/fire when FAST CHARGING. Nissan has not provided ANY solution to this issue in the 14 months the recall has been open. Dealers have no information, Nissan says they are "working" on a software fix but give no date or schedule for repair. The official response from Nissan Corporation has been to tell us that
... they believe the recall solution of "DO NOT FAST CHARGE" is sufficient and they do not need to provide us any further assistance or compensation. The vehicle cannot be driven further than a single charge will allow because major EV charging station companies have now BANNED Nissan Leaf's from using their stations because of fire risk. This means outside of my HOME, I cannot charge the Leaf AT ALL. There is no usability of a vehicle that cannot be charged or powered outside of the home for risk of fire or damage to the battery. I was charged MORE money to have fast charging and a larger battery in this vehicle to be able to utilize it for ALL of my driving needs, including the ability to fast charge to increase range of the vehicle. Our vehicle had swollen battery modules that had bent or damaged the stacks and required a new battery to be installed due to the swelling of the modules leaving the vehicle unable to power on. Nissan replaced the battery in October 2025, but informed us despite a NEW battery the vehicle STILL CANNOT BE FAST CHARGED, as they are still unsure of how to fix the rapid heating of the cells. The vehicle will likely see the same swelling and degradation of the batteries without a PROPER solution from Nissan, leaving me to minimize any driving of a vehicle I am actively paying for, to avoid risk to my family, home and vehicle.Read more

I own a 2021 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy with approximately 114,000 miles. The transmission had to be replaced at around 98,000 miles. Recently, before my next scheduled oil change (I had about 1,000 miles left), my vehicle suddenly began making a loud knocking noise and lost power. The dealer informed me that the engine may have blown. There were no warning lights, oil indicators, or overheatin
... g signs before this happened. The car has been regularly maintained and serviced with timely oil changes. This appears to be a premature engine failure possibly related to oil consumption or an internal defect, as many other Palisade owners have reported similar issues. Hyundai Consumer Affairs has been contacted, and a case number is being opened for review. I am filing this complaint to report a potential widespread engine problem and request investigation into 2021 Hyundai Palisade engine reliability and oil-related failures.Read more

While driving with Cruise control on doing 70MPH (+\- 5mph) the car was in fuel management mode so only 4 of the 8 cylinders were in use. When going on an uphill incline the car cycled to V8. Instantly, I had a loss of power for a second and then the entire engine locked up in the middle of moderate traffic. Providing maintenance log to show that it wasn’t a lack of maintenance
