1. If the brake light fuse blows due to a short it triggers abs light and locks vehicle in park results as I have experienced can result in truck being disabled anytime vehicle is put in park common cause is a short on trailer due to trailer lights and truck lights being on same fuse it affects the whole vehicle 2. Printed circuit board on guages can crack on battery check light circuit causing t

Ground wire connector on guages can become ineffective resulting in vehicle going into limp mode at any speed results when vehicle goes into limp mode at speeds over 45 mph limp mode will automatically force automatic transmission to immediately downshift from 3rd gear (30mph - 45mph) or 4th gear (45mph - 80mph) to 2nd gear (15mph - 30mph) resulting in a multiple system failure with complete loss of overdrive and loss of control of the vehicle resulting in a crash or death Possible complete structural failure of transmission case and mounts resulting in transmission becoming unattached from the vehicle 3. rear drum auto adjustment cable may break resulting in complete brake failure and can cause brake shoes to cut brake drum in half from bolt pattern resulting in a free spinning drum that will destroy everything inside resulting in complete loss of brakes causing crash and potential death 4. As 90% of feedback is sent through the guages before to the computer any guage failure can result in multiple complete catastrophic system failures at any speed 0 to 100 mph resulting in catastrophic injury and death I have experienced all of these issues with my truck and find they should be addressed ASAP as there are still millions of these trucks on the road these issues happened on multiple dates, speeds (mostly 45mph - 70mph), and mileages some resulting in a crashRead more

My name is [XXX] , and my wife and I own a 2023 Honda Ridgeline that we purchased in October 2023. The automatic headlight dimming function has not worked properly since purchasing. The automatic function is very erratic. The lights will not automatically brighten when on a really dark road, and at times have switched to high beam within 100 feet of meeting another vehicle and remain bright. The f
... unction also switches from bright to dim very frequently when driving down the road and no other vehicles around. The lights also switch erratically when going past a road sign, reflector pole, lights at a house you may be passing, etc. My big concern is the lights switching to high beam while approaching another vehicle. I can't count the times this has happened. I have taken our Ridgeline back to Gary Force Honda in Bowling Green, Kentucky where we purchased it. The service advisor that assisted us stated that Honda knows of the problem, however, there is no fix. I inquired about a safety recall for this problem and the gentleman acted as though it was no big deal. It probable isn't a big deal until a deadly accident occurs because of a malfunctioning system. I even mentioned that I expect more especially when you spend $48,000 for a vehicle. Again, the service advisor acted as though his hands are tied. Needless to say, we left the dealership with the same problem that took us in. Attached is a picture taken at approximately 1830 hrs on [XXX] on our isolated road with no street lights, street signs or anything to cause a problem. As you will see, the lights will not switch to bright on this dark road. Please help!! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

The component that is malfunctioning is the LCD dash screen that contains all of the dash indicators (Speed, RPM, gear indicator, etc.). The issue is that without warning, different colored lines flash across the screen. It is distracting and I am quite worried that if the screen goes out, I will not know how fast I am going, and I won't be able to see any of the dash indicators related to the sys
... tem status. It is getting worse every day that I have the vehicle, and now the whole screen is flickering. I purchased the vehicle approximately 3 days ago and the issue has recurred every single day and I have taken a video every time it occurs (as of this report I have 7 videos). The vehicle has not been confirmed by the dealer or others because the dealer will not let me bring it in until their next available appointment on 3 March 2025. There are no warning lamps or messages that come up. Typically the symptoms appear after the vehicle is fully warmed up, or if the heater has been running for a while.Read more

Was driving my 2023 GMC Sierra in a mild snowstorm after leaving the grocery store and heading home. It was about 10 minutes after dark and it has just started snowing. I was only 5 minutes down the road and the visibility in front of me suddenly & drastically declined. I could barely see the road. I could barely make out anywhere to turn out to. Once pulled over, I walked to the front of the tr
... uck and the headlights AND fog lights were completely covered in snow. I wiped them off with my hand and could then see great again. Well, 5ish minutes down the road again and they were back to completely covered. Twice I wasn't able to pull over, due to the steep terrain and no shoulder so, I had to push on, traveling at no more than 4MPH. And getting out during one of the 7 cleanings, I almost slipped and fell. It took me 48 minutes to get home. A trip that usually takes 25! The HID headlights on my other truck don't have this problem. And the aftermarket LED headlights on another vehicle of mine have built in heating elements. You would think the OEM would've thought of this option but, they don't offer it! If it wasn't for my 20+ years experience of driving in the snow, I would've been left stranded or wrecked/totalled the truck due to this major safety oversight!Read more

I am filing a complaint regarding a premature failure of the LED turn signal on my 2019 Honda CR-V at only 81,000 miles. The turn signal is a critical safety component, and its failure presents a serious risk of accidents due to decreased visibility to other drivers. Unlike traditional bulbs that can be easily replaced, Honda’s LED turn signals require replacing the entire headlight assembly at
... a cost of $1,200.00, which is an unnecessary and expensive repair for a basic safety feature. The failure of an LED component at this mileage suggests a defective part that should be investigated. Given that turn signals are an essential part of vehicle safety, I believe Honda should issue a recall or provide an extended warranty for this defect. Safety Concerns: •The LED turn signal failed unexpectedly, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of an accident. •Unlike traditional bulbs, the LED failure requires an expensive full headlight replacement, making it inaccessible for many drivers to afford repairs. Requested Action: I urge the NHTSA to investigate this issue and consider issuing a recall or safety bulletin to ensure Honda takes responsibility for fixing this problem. This is a serious safety concern, and I believe it is unfair for consumers to bear the high cost of replacing an entire headlight assembly for what should be a long-lasting LED component. I appreciate your time and consideration in reviewing this matter. Please let me know if any additional information is needed.Read more

Prior to May 2022, both of the quarter panel mounted tail light assemblies on my 2017 Ford Escape SE started taking in water due the seals on the tail lights failing. Soon after those started failing the same thing began happening to the tail light assemblies on the hatch. I have replaced all 4 tail lights with OEM parts sourced from a salvage yard. All parts sourced from the salvage yard had a
... perfect conditions rating per the salvage yard. Fast forward to November 2024 and I began to notice the seals on the quarter panel mounted tail light assemblies begging to fail. Since then, the passenger side tail light assembly has began taking on water, with the driver side soon to take on water as well. Water and electricity do not mix. The tail lights are available for inspection upon request and I have included pictures. Driving at night or in low light conditions with my tail lights like this puts me and other drivers at risk due to water potentially shorting out my lights/electrical system and making my lights harder for other drivers to see. The problem, to my knowledge has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. The vehicle component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. First appeared prior to May 2022 and again, after replacing the components, around November 2024. I have appealed to the Ford motor company about this and no recall or programs are in affect for this issue at this time. I have also consulted with other owners of the same vehicle with the same issue and there are multiple online forum threads about this issue.Read more

Since late 2024, we have received notification via the Lincoln mobile app that "certain vehicle features have been disabled to conserve battery life". Those made known via that notice were lack of ability to remotely lock/unlock the vehicle and also lack of ability to remote start the vehicle. Lincoln has read on several occasions the battery charge ranging from 50% to 62% while sharing that the b
... attery charge should be at 80%...recommending via the app and verbally via phone communication, to drive the vehicle for 30 miles (10 on the highway) to charge the vehicle to the 80% threshold (like what?). The vehicle was taken a Lincoln dealer who was asked to diagnose the low charge on the battery and we were told the battery was fine. On 1/28/25 we received notice that we were given a software update (10.1.1) that was meant to enhance connectivity and conserve battery health, validating that Lincoln knows they have a problem. Since that update, the "Lincoln Welcome" feature aka "Lincoln Embrace" was disabled when the battery charge % as read by Lincoln was at 57%. This feature is both SAFETY and SECURITY related and a contributing factor as to why we selected Lincoln. The feature is meant to recognize our approach to the vehicle via the key fob and illuminate the inside and outside of the vehicle to allow us to see if any form of predator is inside the vehicle our outside around the perimeter. As senior citizens that live in one of the highest crime rate cities in the country, this feature is critical to us and we have chosen not to drive the car at night until this is addressed. First the battery was drained and needed replaced. Then message on center navigation screen displays “System Off to Save Battery. Please turn ignition off or start engine” when entering the car before trying to start it. Then I was notified of a recall that needed to be done. The recall was for “the body control module bcm and powertrain control module pcm calibrations may be unable to detec
... t a sudden change in the 12-VOLT battery state of charge during a drive cycle.” The safety risk of this recall was as follows: “If the bcm and pcm calibrations are unable to detect a sudden battery degradation during a drive, the vehicle may be unable to restart after an auto stopstart event or may experience a stall while coming to a stop at low speed. The vehicle may also lose 12-VOLT accessories, including hazard lights. A loss of motive power can increase the risk of a crash.” The Ford Service Center did a software update to resolve this recall. Then the car started displaying a message on the dashboard front screen “Charging System Service Soon” and the battery light would be on. I also got a notification from my Ford app saying “Charge System Fault” “Indicates that there is a 12V charging system fault”.The car was taken to the Ford Service Center immediately and they said it just needed reprogrammed. The issue seemed to be solved on the short 5 minute drive home. The next day the car displayed the same “System Off to Save Battery” message on the middle navigation screen and “ Charging System Service Soon” message on the front dashboard screen. While driving the entire front dashboard electrical system turned off right after flashing multiple messages “front camera & pre collision assist not available”, no headlights and power steering went out, This happens randomly but happens every single time the car is driven. The bulbs had originally been replaced in 2021 at the dealer. We took the car to the dealer November 26, 2024 having noticed how dim they were around May 2024. The dealer states no problem was found, lights appear to be working normally. These are HID lights. The DS1 bulb color is white, and the composite lens color is clear. The dealer has no idea what the problem could be. Called the xenon
... bulb manufacturer. They believe that with the bulbs only being 4 years old and the light being bright and even white(they're rated 5K) the problem is elsewhere in the electrical system. The dealer made a similar comment about their color when the car was checked. The dealer rechecked the lights 01/26/25, still could not identify a problem, and suggested that we start by replacing the bulbs, then move on from there. These bulbs retail for $400 and headlight assemblies run about $1700 ea. I advised that you cannot see much past the front of the car with the lights on and that either the high beams or fog lights need to be on when conditions dictate the use of the lights. It is nearly impossible to discern road hazards such as potholes or potential problems on the roadside within the headlamps arc.Read more

On Wednesday [XXX], at [XXX]. I started to drive to work. I noticed the instrument cluster on my 2024 Kia Seltos SX was completely dark. I couldn't see the speedometer, fuel gauge, engine temperature, or any other function that should show on the instrument cluster. I turned around and returned home. I called the Kia dealer's service department and got an appointment for the car to be checked
... that afternoon. This service center is about 30 miles from my home. I drove there with a totally black screen for the instrument cluster--not able to see my speed or any other information about the car. I left the car running when I arrived at the service center. The service manager confirmed the issue. I also told her I'd been getting warnings that the key fob batteries were drained. She checked the key fobs and told me the batteries were sending strong signals. She also told me the odometer mileage had been deleted and that it was illegal to drive the car in that condition. She said that the instrument cluster unit had to be replaced but there wasn't a replacement unit anywhere in the U.S. She gave me a loaner vehicle but warned me she had no idea when she could get a new instrument cluster. I notice in online searches that instrument cluster failures for Kias are not unusual. I also notice that some Kia models have been recalled for this reason. Why isn't the Seltos on the list of recalled vehicles? It doesn't appear that Kia knows how to correct the problem. My instrument cluster screen has been repeatedly dimming and brightening for no obvious reason. That problem is longstanding and intermittent.
