Driver side low beam headlights failed. Bulb works. Bulb Holder works. Confirmed by moving bulb and bulb holder assembly to passenger side where it operates fine. Search on-line finds many people with same problem. It appears to be an electrical connection problem within the headlight assembly. Intermittently, while driving, day or night, the headlights will turn on or off for about 30 seconds despite the called for sensor setting. For example, if it is dark outside, the sensors will trigger to turn on the headlight and running lights and vise a versa, when the sensors detect sufficient light, the running and headlights will turn off. I have only noticed this happens when the headlights
... are in the "auto" mode position as I don't keep them any other way. I have only noticed it a couple times when the headlights and/or running lights will turn on during the day (bright enough not to trigger the sensor). HOWEVER, it has happened A LOT at night where the lights will turn OFF WHILE DRIVING which causes panic because I'm driving a death machine blindly (nothing bright to mistakenly trigger sensor/no overhead lighting or approaching vehicles, i.e. pitch black). I have not been able to recreate it on demand and it has an unknown, unbiased pattern. I would say that it occurs weekly, up to 2 times per week. I feel that it has happened more often a few seconds after straightening from a turn using the turning signal (but I always use my turning signal). The direction of turn doesn't factor, it'll do it turning left or right. There has been a couple times where I almost have driven off the road and/or hit unseen objects because of having no lights. This has happened enough at night when the lights unwantedly turn off, that I have learned to quickly switch the lights from "auto" to "on" and the lights react/will work and stay on when switched back to "auto". Mechanic unable to recreate issue. No warning lights, messages, or notice of problematic signals (other than the standard "lights on" notification. The attached picture was taken at 4:06 pm on July 29, 2022. It was a hot, sunny day and I was doing 53 on the highway (straight/no curves). My running lights turned on long enough for me to pull out my phone and take a picture.Read more

When driving at night, sometimes the headlights and taillights will shut off leaving the car totally in the dark. This is a SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE as you can no longer see the road and other cars cannot see you. The problem appears to possibly be associated with the light switch, as you can jiggle it and get the lights back on. Also related to this problem of the lights shutting off is the fact that
... occasionally the lights will come on long after the car has been parked in the garage, which tends to drain the battery. After experiencing this problem, I checked the internet and found numerous other cases of Hyundai Elantra owners reporting the exact same symptoms, so it seems to be a somewhat generic problem. Hyundai’s service department has been unable to isolate the problem on my car. The problem happens randomly and is infrequent but serious when it happens. It has happened approximately 10 times over the past two years.Read more

I purchased this vehicle used with 6000-ish miles on it, the front passenger brake system had started making a slight noise, somewhat scraping or dragging. When I brought in the car for a tire change or balance, the issue was brought up to me at BIG O Tires in Aurora CO, that an issue of the brake system has a scraping or wear that usually found in a much older vehicle or one with much more mileag
... e. I cannot at this time give the exact explanation of the issue, but I recently had an issue with the front passenger tire with a slow leak, since the tire was replaced the issue with the scraping noise has returned. 2nd Issue: The headlamps have always had a weak beam, not giving a good illumination of the road area ahead of the vehicle even when the weather is clear. It barely reveals the road ahead of me. When it is raining or snowfall, it is extremely poor. I have considered bringing it in for a change in the headlamps to a higher amp or extreme high reflecting blue lamp color that I am encountering in high illumination from oncoming vehicles. Headlights The normal beam headlights are extremely dim, unable to operate the vehicle on the roadway at night. I had the bulbs replaced at an expense of $300 for parts and labor, which did not rectify the issue. The beams remain extremely dim, which is due to the faulty headlight assembly. GM has never acknowledge this issue after 1000's of complaints. GM did refund some owners of SRX 2010-2

If the vehicle must be operated at night, the only way to safety proceed is with the high beams, which doesn't provide for a safe environment for the other vehicles on the roadway. This must be addressed by GM, as people are risking their lives and the lives of others on the roadway. There were no prior warnings or indications of headlight failure. I first noticed this issue in 2021 and have been attempting to resolve it with GM since. GM comes across as it is not their problem and that I should get my headlights replaced at my own expense. The LED strip/portion of my driver-side headlight has stopped functioning. It is all inside a closed headlight unit. When starting the vehicle, the LED strip will pulse about 11 times quickly, then remain off. This has been an unsafe defect, because if I am in a lane that is for "Left Turn OR Keep Straight", a vehicle in the intersection across from me could look briefly, see my left LED strip ou
... t*, and assume I am turning left -- while in actuality I am keeping straight. This could lead to a head-on collision. *There are many newer vehicles where the LED strip temporarily turns off when that side's turn signal is flashing. Additionally, this can cause a small percentage of uneven brightness. I have not found a way to turn off the working LED Strip on the passenger side without turning ALL the headlights off. It is always on (and always uneven) whenever the vehicle is running. The cost of the repair was quoted by the dealership I bought the van at - an unavoidable $180 diagnostic fee, plus $1,300+ to replace the whole unit, with no other options given. Furthermore, the expensive, "comprehensive wrap" extended vehicle plan the Chrysler dealership sold me refuses to cover the defect. Lastly, the service technician at both Chrysler Dealerships' advise was to "just live with it". This is completely unjust and should be covered by Chrysler, as LEDs should certainly have thousands of working hours left past 5 years, let alone the short 3 years the factory warranty covers. There were no messages or warning signs before this defect was noticed, and there is no information on the defect provided by the manufacturer anywhere I have looked online or on the MOPAR website.Read more
