On March 4, 2023, I purchased a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse from Landers Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram located in Norman, Oklahoma. Before actually purchasing the vehicle and after inspection it was stated to the dealership that the [XXX] would not purchase the vehicle with the various problems notated before purchase. After receiving a verbal agreement that the problems would be fixed my wife and I sign
... ed the contract. My wife and I took the car to Lawton Oklahoma from Mach 4 to March 8 when we were to return the vehicle for repairs. Then on March 17, 2023, we picked the vehicle up from Landers after repairs. After leaving Landers Chrysler and then getting onto HE Bailey Turnpike the vehicle’s check engine light came back on, and the passenger headlight was out again. However, on March 20, 2023, [XXX] wrote a letter to Landers Chrysler with several complaints which needed to be rectified. •RE: Failure to disclose material information, and/or making a false representation of a present or past material fact such as a diagnostic trouble code: (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold [possible needed repairs] 2015 Chevrolet Traverse) known to dealer, and by the dealer’s failing to disclose such information involving the vehicle's history to a recent purchaser, and Lending Institution. Landers Chrysler did fix the problem with the check engine light, but refused to fix the front headlight problem, and told the [XXX] that since they had a service contract, that should cover the headlight situation. However, that is not the case. The service contract does not cover headlight problems, and Classic Chevrolet where the vehicle is now located wants to charge me over $2000 to fix the problem. Although my wife and I thought that the headlight was fixed, it was later learned that it was not. I sincerely believe that Landers Chrysler knew that the headlights and possibly light switches had serious problems, then sold the vehicle knowing this. I was driving at night when both of my lower beam headlights went out at the exact same time. My high beams work but not the low beams and it wasn't a blown fuse. Following completion of reporting Walnut Municipal Code (WMC) 3.40.010 violations at the end of my night, I walked out and found that my car was again vandalized in retaliation for filing a complaint related to the violation of Walnut Municipal Code 3.40.010. Such vandalism is intended to further disengage the workforce by causing expenses that are extreme, and such vandalism can occur as repeate
... dly as the nuisance of such noise violations involving such misuse of non-emergency one way communication speakers as radio devices to emit noise in the form of statements describing oneself as an enforcement or city professional, aside from some type of affiliation with a financial institution advisor, if not regulator of such related agency. In this case the vandalism involved not allowing turning off the red tail lights of my vehicle. The usual occurrence is kill switching the vehicle as if it is stolen, activating the alarm to prevent my usage, not unlocking the vehicle with the key, remotely disengaging the key from the alarm, and then engaging when an authority external to the dealer decides to stop precluding its use. Such actions targeting preclusion are usually alleviated after several additional inspections are made and planned activities have passed, eg a social event or deadline. Thank you for your attention. Vehicles equipped with the Xenon Headlight option that have spent time in warmer climates have very poor quality wiring inside the headlight itself, whose insulation degrades and falls off, exposing bare copper that shorts, causes lighting faults, and disables headlights. This happened in my own car, the driver side headlight Daytime Running Light just stopped working one day, first with no fault
... codes, then eventually fault codes started appearing as more parts of the headlight stopped working, including the low-beam while driving at night. Obviously the headlights ceasing to work randomly is extremely unsafe on roadways at night, like what happened in my case, but beyond that, wiring shorting inside the headlight can causes electrical fires as well. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request, and has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, due to testimonials I have heard from many other owners of cars with the same headlights, that BMW dealers and BMWNA are refusing to help at all with this issue. As previously stated, warning lamps did not initially appear, but as more of the wiring insulation began to degrade headlight fault codes did eventually appear.Read more

My SUV was sitting for a few days at the airport and I when I got in the car, it started fine but the headlights, interior lights, power folding mirrors and the voltmeter were not working. I had to leave the car there since it was night time. The next day I drove it home in daylight and started checking fuses. I noticed two fuses (#2, #12) on the driver side fuse panel were failed. I replaced the
... #2, 5 amp, fuse and no changes were noticed. Then I replaced the #12, 25 amp, fuse and I heard a number of systems clicking and powering on; the lights flickered. Then I smelled burning and saw a puff of smoke come from under the dash. I immediately pulled the fuse . After troubleshooting, I found the body control module 7L6-937-049-K had caught fire internally and started to burn through the casing. Had I not pulled the fuse and disconnected the battery, this could have been catastrophic. Once I smelled the smoke, I realized it was like the acrid smell in the suv the night before. The fact the fuse blew the previous day saved the vehicle. It was parked on the fourth floor of parking garage at the airport so many vehicles could have been damaged and people endangered had it caught fire. Not to mention the disruption at an airport. There were no warning lamps. The only indication of a problem was the inoperable systems I mentioned. Also thinking back, the slight acrid smell was present the day I arrived at the airport, I had mistaken it for plane exhaust and car exhaust smells in the garage. The vehicle has not been inspected by any dealer, manufacturer or govermental agency. I have contacted the manufacturer for guidance and help with repairing. I am awaiting a response.Read more

I took my car to the Gillman Acura dealership in Houston where I purchased my car to have them look at the lights and they told me that the lens cover is degraded and cloudy over the lightbulbs and the whole headlamp would need to be replaced. I was told the light lens has degraded and become cloudy because of the sun light reflecting into my headlights and also because of sun reflecting off of buildings into my headlights where I park for long periods of time, to which I replied” I park in the garage and where I work, there’s no reflection coming off of the building! I’ve had many cars throughout my life and this is has never happened before ….they told me it would cost $2200 to replace both of them ! I recently decided to look online to see if other people were having this problem and I read where many people have complained of the same problem with their 2015 RDX ! Also, I found out that there was a previous recall on the 2014-2015 RLX because of the same issue! Which states HID is getting around 100,000 miles because of the reflector or Fresnel lens degrading because of aluminum film glued to headlight inner reflector. Prior to this, I had used the vehicle to drop off my kids at daycare (which required turning on the vehicle, driving, and turning off the vehicle). This event occurred roughly 40 minutes after a mix of highway and city driving. From a safety perspective, this was very concerning as I had no way to indicate to other drivers that my car was not driveable. Fortunately my children were no longer in the car. I was very concerned that not only the car lost all power and functionality, but was more concerned that the car started on its own. I was also concerned that if I had not moved the car to park and somehow it turned back on if left in drive what potential damage could have been done to me, another vehicle and potential injury 30K service and all recalls had been satisfied prior to this by an authorized Kia dealership.Read more

The headlights on this vehicle are defective. They do not project light and over time deteriorated to a point where you cannot see when driving in the dark. NOTE, this is not a result of the bulb as we went to great expense to twice change it out with new bulbs. The first time we used an OEM new bulb matched what was originally installed with no improvement. After that, we tried a newer style
... LED bulb with about a 10% improvement but we still could not see to drive at night. After extensive online research, we found a significant group of posts of many people having the exact same problem. And then we learned what the actual problem was. The lens coating, that reflects and focuses the light from the bulb was defective and failed, thus changing the bulb to a new one had no positive results. After contacting Acura as I know many others did from reading online, they still refused to take responsibility for the defect. Our only solution was to replace both lighting assemblies with brand new, non-OEM ones at significant expense. Adding up the cost of new bulbs, labor, new light housings, and more labor, we had over $1,000 of costs involved.Read more

Vehicle is available for inspection. Soon after I bought this car last April I realized it's VERY difficult to see how fast I am going in certain areas that are shadowed, especially on cloudy/overcast days. I have the lights set as bright as they will go but when I get in darker areas during the day I can just barely make out the tips to the 50/60 mph marks and a lot of times when it's cloudy over
... cast and I get in a darker spot I can't even SEE the tips of the 50/60 mph marks. Turning on the headlights doesn't help at all. I constantly have to "guess" what my speed is and that's a safety issue. I believe the problem stems from a combination of how far back the dash is set and the black cowl that protrudes out over the area. I think the area should be backlit like computer keys or somehow made to light up the way it does at night. I even tried to put some small LED lights in there but they were too dim to help. Another problem I have noticed with this car is that if I have my lights on I can't see my backup camera either, so if I want to back up in a parking garage or during a rainy day when I have my lights on, I first have to turn off my lights so I can use my backup camera.Read more

The headlights on the car are dangerously dim. The lights have been frustratingly dim for years (at least 5+ years since I’ve owned the car) but now I’m genuinely concerned for my family’s safety—they’ve continued to get dimmer and dimmer. The only way I can make it home at night is by using my brights. And even the brights present a dangerous situation for me and other cars on the road
... . I’ve been told by dealers that this is a known issue but they will not repair it for free without a recall — the fix is not as simple as replacing lightbulbs, it is easily $3,000-4,000 of labor and parts (the entire headlights need to be replaced). Highbeams not changing from low beam to high beam. I was unable to see driving in dark areas. The dealership found a short causing the curtain to not open fully keeping the low beams on. The dealer replaced the head lamp assembly under warranty.
