I was traveling at highway speeds in active, high-velocity traffic when my vehicle suffered a sudden, catastrophic mechanical failure that nearly resulted in a severe multi-car accident. Without any warning, the vehicle completely lost its ability to accelerate, flatly refusing to pick up speed or maintain momentum despite pressing the gas pedal. This unexpected, immediate drop in propulsion ma
... rooned me in high-speed lanes, leaving the vehicle dangerously vulnerable as oncoming traffic rapidly closed the distance behind me. Drivers behind me were forced to aggressively swerve and brake to avoid a high-speed rear-end collision. Moments after this life-threatening loss of power occurred, the Check Engine Light illuminated on the dashboard. Subsequent technical inspection revealed a severe engineering defect: the internal seals of the factory coolant control components failed, forcing pressurized engine coolant backward into the engine’s primary vacuum system. This pressurized fluid completely contaminated the vacuum lines, the vacuum reservoir tank, and the electronic solenoids—including the N75 boost control solenoid. By filling the vacuum infrastructure with liquid coolant, the engine was instantly starved of its ability to regulate turbocharger boost, triggering a critical "limp mode" and a P0299 underboost fault. The catastrophic failure of an internal cooling seal directly compromising an active drivability safety system represents an unreasonable and severe defect. It transforms a routine drive into an immediate, uncontrollable highway hazard. I am filing this report because this known coolant migration pattern presents a clear, present, and life-threatening danger to owners operating this engine platform.Read more

On June 1, 2026, software update 68C was performed at the dealership on my 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. On June 6, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m., after driving the vehicle for about 25 minutes, I experienced a serious malfunction. While making a turn at a speed of less than 10 mph, the vehicle suddenly and without warning lost throttle and propulsion. It appeared to hesitate as though shifting betw
... een electric and gasoline power, and then abruptly and erratically lurched forward, accelerating to what felt like maximum speed. The Jeep struck a chain-link fence, which slowed its movement, but it continued to surge forward. I applied the brakes and attempted to maintain control of the vehicle, but it kept lurching ahead. At no point did the vehicle emit a safety warning, sound an alert, or attempt to stop automatically, even though it normally responds to obstacles when operating properly. I repeatedly attempted to place the vehicle in reverse, but it did not respond. I turned the engine off and back on several times, and only after more than three attempts did the vehicle finally recognize reverse, allowing me to back away from the fence. A man in a truck assisted me and contacted the police. Both the responding police officer and the assisting individual expressed concern about the potential danger, particularly because the vehicle is a 4xe. I am now extremely hesitant and fearful to operate or move the vehicle. The vehicle is available for inspection and has not been inspected yet by dealership or insurance. I have it parked outside of my residence.Read more

On XXX My car was stopped at a light, the vehicle shot down, and would not restart. I had the car towed to Galeana Kia, [XXX]. Upon isnpection at Kia it was found that the engine oil was three quarts low. I was shocked. There had been no warning lights on the dashboard. I had a synthetic oil change 9,000 miles previously. Galeana Kia charged me $315.96. There was a subsequent recall 25V099. "The

When i first purchased the vehicle off the lot a few years back (its a 21, so probably in 22?) Brand new off the lot minimal miles. Within the first few months we started having issues with the power wanting to shift down. We took it in, the dealership found nothing wrong with it and cleared the codes. This happened a few more times. The last 2 times I took it in. They mentioned that there were re
... calls on it and could possibly be causing the issue. Took care of that (last august- have docs. to prove it as along with what they did and what we stated). Fast forward now 2 months ago (April of 25) and it starts acting up again and wants to downshift, shifting hard, stuttering and not wanting to drive, the same things we have been complaining about since beginning with lights on etc. However, this time we tried to shut it off and give some down time to get back home. After about 10 mins, we went to start the truck to get it home, and it would not start. We had it towed to the dealership. Once they got it, after 2 weeks of waiting we were finally presented with, the starter went out and the wiring box needed to be replaced (this has to be done before they can look into the original problem again) (because without those 2 things fixed, they wont be able to do) it is now June. I took the vehicle home, due to not having funds to fix right away. After doing some research and some digging, it would appear that the issues that we are having with the truck are issues that are already being recalled on this specific truck and model. However, for mine it is not, because I have the 2.7 l turbo and not the 6.8. THere have been numerous complaints about the known issue.(which i found out is the other wiring by the engine that is being chafed which is causing the wires to break and causing the other box and alternator to go and be replaced). If you replace it fries all again. Why is the 2.6 engine problem thats reported not recalled but rest is and it is known. I also see this onlineRead more

I am writing to report a severe safety defect regarding my 2018 Jeep Renegade. The vehicle suffers from an extreme internal oil consumption defect, burning 1 quart of oil every 1,000 miles. According to certified automotive diagnostics, this is five times the normal operating rate. This rapid oil depletion causes the vehicle to abruptly lose power, stall, and completely shut down while driving in
... active traffic without warning. Sudden engine failure at highway speeds creates an immediate, critical risk of collisions. The vehicle’s history directly matches documented manufacturer issues. The original purchasing dealership notified me that the vehicle was impacted by Customer Satisfaction Notification W80 for abnormal oil consumption. My research also confirmed related under-hood wiring recalls for this model year that cause fuel pressure drops and engine stalling. However, when I presented the vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership in Newnan, Georgia, due to repeated stalling, the service department refused recall coverage because my specific VIN was not flagged in their database. They replaced a valve cover gasket instead, but the severe oil depletion and dangerous stalling persisted. A subsequent inspection by an independent licensed automotive shop confirmed the excessive oil burning and determined the engine has suffered fatal internal wear, requiring a complete engine replacement. Because the manufacturer excludes my VIN from the official recall population, they refuse to provide any administrative or financial remedies. However, my vehicle is exhibiting the exact mechanical failures, dangerous stalling, and severe oil consumption targeted by NHTSA’s investigations into the engine. Excluding a vehicle experiencing identical safety failures based solely on an arbitrary VIN window leaves consumers unprotected. This unaddressed defect ultimately rendered the vehicle un-driveable, forcing me to surrender it, causing financial hardship and negative credit impact.Read more

I experienced a sudden coolant leak on my 2017 Ford F‑150 equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. The Ford dealership diagnosed the issue as leaking turbocharger coolant lines. The coolant was leaking in the turbo area and dripping onto extremely hot exhaust components. This creates a risk of rapid coolant loss, overheating, loss of power while driving, and potential engine compartment fire. Th
... e Ford service advisor told me directly that he has “seen this many times,” which indicates this is a recurring failure on EcoBoost engines and not normal wear. This suggests the coolant line design or fittings may be defective and failing prematurely. The repair estimate was extremely high because the dealer included replacement of both exhaust manifolds. This failure occurred without warning. If the coolant loss had happened at highway speed, it could have caused sudden engine overheating or power loss. I am requesting NHTSA investigate turbo coolant line failures on Ford EcoBoost engines due to the safety risk of coolant leaking onto hot turbo and exhaust components.Read more

The problem is intermittent and unpredictable, making it difficult to determine when the next failure will occur. The vehicle has been taken to Ford for diagnosis multiple times, and significant money has been spent attempting to repair the issue. Despite these efforts, the root cause has not been identified and the problem continues to occur. This defect affects the drivetrain system and impacts the safe operation of the vehicle. The sudden loss of power on the highway places the driver, passengers, and surrounding motorists at risk. I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2022 Hyundai Tucson equipped with the 2.5L engine. The vehicle has experienced multiple incidents of severe engine misfiring while driving. During these events, the engine begins to shake violently, the entire vehicle vibrates, and engine power is significantly reduced. The vehicle becomes unable to accelerate normally, creating a serious safety hazard,
... especially when driving on highways or in traffic. The malfunction has occurred several times. Diagnostic trouble codes P0302 and P0303 have been recorded, indicating cylinder misfires. In some cases, turning the engine off and restarting it temporarily restores normal operation. On other occasions, adding fuel system cleaner appeared to temporarily improve the condition. However, the problem eventually returns. Because the condition is intermittent, the Hyundai dealership has been unable to reproduce the failure during inspection and therefore has not performed a repair under warranty. Despite multiple visits, the root cause remains unidentified. I am concerned that the sudden loss of power and severe engine vibration could result in an accident if the vehicle is unable to maintain speed or accelerate while traveling at highway speeds. This issue has significantly affected the safe operation of the vehicle. I request that this matter be investigated, as it appears to be a recurring safety-related defect.Read more

NHTSA Defect Report (Initial Portal Filing) Manufacturer Target: General Motors (GM) Filer: [XXX] Classification: Mechanical Defect & Administrative Evasion Narrative for Submission I am filing this formal defect report regarding a catastrophic, systemic safety failure present in the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse architecture (VIN: [XXX]), manufactured by General Motors. The vehicle was originally purc
... hased at AutoNation Timonium. THE SAFETY DEFECT AND TELEMETRY PROOF On March 18, 2026, the vehicle suffered a total failure of the transmission and drivetrain systems. It was immediately surrendered to Preston Chevrolet, where it remained completely out of service for 34 consecutive days. GM's own OnStar Diagnostic Telemetry automatically dispatched critical fault alerts while the vehicle was stranded, explicitly logging the following irrefutable failure codes: DTC U1962 (PCM - Engine and Transmission System): Warning stated: "System transferring power to the drive wheels not performing as expected." This indicates a catastrophic decoupling or failure to transfer motive power. If this failure occurs at highway speeds, it results in a total loss of propulsion, creating an extreme rear-end collision hazard. DTC U0452 (VIU - OnStar System): A simultaneous failure in the Wireless Communication and Safety system, meaning that when the drivetrain catastrophically fails, the vehicle's automated emergency SOS and crash-reporting telemetry is actively blocked or compromised. ELEVATION TO ADMINISTRATIVE EVASION General Motors and its authorized dealer network were provided with formal written notice of this defect. The 30-day statutory right to cure window fully expired without any mechanical resolution. Rather than deploying engineering solutions to rectify the severe safety defects they released into the public domain, GM has instead deployed aggressive legal maneuvers designed to evade accountability. The engine consumes oil which is a known problem at Hyundai with the Tucson for the year 2020. The car has ~51,000 miles on it. When we took the car to the dealer at which we bought the car they diagnosed that the engine was burning oil. We were told that the engine is covered by standard warranty (10 yr. 100,000 miles). there is a process Hyundai has established for engines suspected of havin
... g this issue - first we had to have them check the oil and engine and then we had to drive the car 1000 miles and bring it back to them. when we brought it back they confirmed the the engine was consuming oil. They asked us to provide our maintenance records on the car (oil changes). We were able to find evidence of 5 oil changes but we know the we changed the oil on the car every 3-5k miles as we always do. The next step in the process is a combustion chamber cleaning which costs $1400 which would normally be covered by warranty but since we did not have all records of oil changes they will not cover it so we are being told we have to pay the $1400 out of pocket and also the the cleaning is not assured to fix the issue with the engine. If it fails to fix the issue the car will need a new engine which Hyundai is telling us they will not do under the warranty and it will be our financial obligation ($10-15K additional paid by us). It is clear that Hyundai is trying to shirk their warranty obligation to us. So we are stuck - we have to pay out of pocket for a service that may not resolve the issue and if it does not the car needs a new engine. If we sell the car back to the dealership they will only pay us $6000 when the car with a good engine is worth $15K. I am reporting the failure of Ford Motor Company to perform a mandatory safety recall (Recall 22S43 / NHTSA ID 22V413) on my 2019 Ford Escape. This failure is compounded by evidence of falsified internal service records (OASIS reports) that misrepresent the vehicle's recall status as 'completed.' Furthermore, the failure to perform this specific recall directly prevented a necessary diagnostic
... inspection of the transmission linkage and adjacent engine compartment. Had this recall been performed, the technician would have identified the progressive corrosion and mechanical stress that subsequently destroyed the high-pressure fuel pump and the Transmission Control Module (TCM). The manufacturer meticulously recorded routine maintenance while ignoring a critical federal safety mandate. Their negligence directly caused a cascading mechanical failure, rendering my vehicle an unsafe, non-operational hazard. I am seeking a formal investigation into these falsified service records and the manufacturer's failure to remedy this safety hazard. I attempted to resolve this manner at the lowest levels, before taking this route. Unfortunately, to their detriment; Ford basically told me I was on my own. I have already alerted the Attorney General for the State of Tennessee, as well. The subsequent loss of the vehicle as a result of the abhorrent behavior of Ford Motor company has resulted in time lost with my kids and my mental health appointments with the Veterans Administration. ENGINE MALFUNCTION SERVICE NOW APPEARED (ERROR) I took the vehicle to the dealership for evaluation. The mechanic checked, reset, and reprogrammed the module. I was instructed to return if the error occurred. It did after driving 5 miles. The mechanic rechecked for possibly having different errors. I was instructed that it was okay to drive with the errors. Unfortunately, after coming to a stop,
... I was unable to accelerate! I was on a major road and I was unable to move off to the side of the road. The vehicle in this state is life-threatening. (A tanker truck thankfully was able to stop!) I was able to limp to the dealer where I purchased the vehicle. NOTE: This has been a well-documented issue (Check OUTLANDER FORUM). My 2024 Outlander briefly had the errors, but they cleared themselves. I feel this needs expedited to severe, requiring a mandated software update before a life is lost! This error inhibits frontal collision sensors!Read more

Was on way to trade truck in onb6/6/26 and got a cylinder #7 misfire. Replaced spark plug and wire and moved coil packs around to trace and stayed on #7. Just had recall completed on 9/25/25 and stated that I've heard a rattling noise in engine area. They performed recall and changed to new oil suggested by GM. Dealership said noise was transmission. I told them that was replaced already within la
... st 50k miles under warranty. Drive it for a few days and rattling noise still there. Took back to dealer on 9/30/25 at cost of $200 diagnositc and stated there is a grinding noise under light acceleration like it's metal on metal. Dealer stated that it was the rear seat rattling. There were NO noises in the cab, only coming from outside at driverside motor area. Called GM 10/1/25 to let them know the denial of motor replacement and we wanted 2nd opinion but we would have to pay out of pocket again. On 6/4/26 had to have truck towed to new dealer. New dealer won't make deal on new truck because of this and we have 2 trips already booked and paid for and 1 at end of June. New dealer is putting in service on 6/8/26 to verify cause. I have called GM after making repairs and they said it was between me and the dealer, there is nothing they can do. This is unacceptable! Im fine if they would offset cost and buy a new Chevy truck and we are going to fight to get it made right. This does make us want to change brands even though we've bought 5 Chevys in the last 10 years.Read more

There is a loud metallic knocking sound coming from my engine. I have lack of acceleration power, and the check engine light came on. You are more than welcome to come inspect the car. My safety was placed at risk as my engine can blow up, and/or I lose acceleration while driving and cause an accident. The sound is continuous and will be until the Rod Bearing is fixed so it’s easily reproducible

My 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 had an oil pump failure at 77,000 miles… Truck may be 11 years old but it only has 77k on it and the oil pump has already failed? Seems crazy to me, especially when I’ve changed the oil religiously every 3,000 miles.

The affected component is the fuel injector system covered under Ford’s safety recall. According to the recall notice, a fuel injector may crack and allow fuel and/or fuel vapors to accumulate on top of the engine, creating a risk of fire if exposed to hot engine or exhaust components. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The safety risk is significant because the defect involv
... es the potential for an under-hood fire while driving or while the vehicle is parked after operation. I use this vehicle as my primary means of transportation and have concerns about my safety and the safety of passengers due to the possibility of a fire occurring before a repair is available. The issue has been confirmed by Ford through its issuance of the safety recall. I have contacted Ford and dealership service departments regarding the recall. However, I have been informed that repair parts are not yet available, leaving the vehicle unrepaired despite the acknowledged safety defect. The vehicle has been inspected by authorized Ford dealerships in connection with related concerns. I have also communicated directly with Ford regarding the recall and the lack of an available remedy. No specific warning lights or messages related to a cracked fuel injector appeared prior to my awareness of the defect. My concern arises from Ford’s recall notice identifying a condition that may lead to fuel leakage and an engine compartment fire. Because parts are unavailable, I am unable to have the safety defect corrected despite Ford’s acknowledgment of the risk.Read more

Car started losing coolant and engine overheating on highway. Ford knows about this issue with coolant leaking into engine block but fails to mention to current owners. We have to figure it out ourselves once the engine is destroyed and damage is done and the expensive fix is in. This is dangerous!
