In November 2025, my 2021 Honda Pilot started experiencing stalling while driving, hesitation when accelerating, and sudden power loss while idling. I took the vehicle to my local Homda dealership and each time they dismissed the problem, indicating that they could not find any issues. On 4/24/26, the vehicle experienced sudden engine failure in the middle of moving traffic. There were no warn
... ing lights or dashboard messages leading to the issue. The vehicle was towed to the local Honda dealership, where they kept the vehicle for a month and charged over $20,000 for a repair (not replacement). Ten (10) days after picking up the vehicle from the dealership, the engine locked and seized again on 6/9/26 in the middle of traffic and nearly caused a serious accident with 3 other vehicles.Read more

Both were dispatched to the scene. I called my husband for help while we waited for police & fire to arrive. My husband popped the hood and we saw large blue flames coming out from the transmission or the engine and we notice that transmission fluid started to leak under the vehicle. My husband put the fire out with the fire extinguisher. A police report was made. I contacted the dealership immediately. I contacted my auto insurance agent the next morning. The fire dept. used heat guns to test the heat level in the engine area. Prior to this, I did not have any issues with the vehicle. I believe this to be some type of mechanical or electrical malfunction or failure, based on the white smoke and blue flames. My daughter and I were put at extreme safety risk. If my husband and the YMCA staff did not assist, I feel that we would have lost our lives. With the large amount of smoke rolling into the air, children entering & leaving the YMCA were exposed to smoke/oder. Police had the vehicle towed to a tow lot near by to await Mercedes to pick up the vehicle and tow it to the dealership that I got the car from, so that it can be inspected. That was on 06/01/26. It is now 06/11/26 and Mercedes has not picked up the vehicle from the tow lot as they had confirmed that would be taking care of it.Read more

Following the completion of an official emissions recall software upgrade at Fitzgerald Auto Mall Countryside, Clearwater Florida, my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport (52,000 miles) now suffers from a severe loss of motive power and erratic transmission shifting/jerking during cold starts throughout day. The servicing dealership states they don't have a software fix and offer no mechanical fix. The dealership states they received an internal memo from Hyundai Corporate which instructed the dealership to tell affected owners to idle the vehicle for 1-3 minutes before driving to allow system adjustments. Forcing a consumer to wait out a dangerous powertrain defect in a running vehicle to avoid a roadway acceleration/loss accident is an unacceptable safety hazard. 2025 Triumph Speed 400 — Moisture-Triggered Limp Mode and Loss of Turn Signals My 2025 Triumph Speed 400 enters limp mode and displays a check engine light and wrench warning whenever ridden in rain or high humidity. When this occurs, turn signals and hazard lights also stop functioning, leaving me without signaling capability in traffic. Both issues clear only after the bike dries out. The bat

The dealer applied dielectric grease to the speedometer connectors and checked the battery terminals, but the fix was unverified as it didn’t rain until today. On 6/10/26 after riding to work in the rain, the bike entered full limp mode when I tried to leave — power was severely restricted and turn signals and hazards were completely inoperative. The simultaneous loss of power and signaling in traffic is a serious safety hazard with no advance warning to the rider. This is a documented issue across multiple owner forums affecting 2024 and 2025 Speed 400s, and Triumph is aware but has issued no recall or formal remedy. Engine shuts off without warning while driving. First reported to the dealer on XXX (approximately 12,000 miles) and has continued for 2.5+ years despite repeated repair attempts. Shutoffs typically occur at low speed while decelerating, such as turning into neighborhoods or approaching stops, but have also occurred while coasting at 33 mph on a busy road with cruise control active (August 8, 2025
... ). Frequency has varied from roughly every 1,000 miles to severe clusters: three shutoffs within one hour on [XXX] and again on [XXX], and five in a single day in mid-August 2025. The dealer reproduced the failure with diagnostic equipment connected in August 2024. Most recent events: XXX;XXX (quit while coasting at 20 mph on a busy four-lane road with cruise control engaged);XXX (quit while slowing to turn onto a neighborhood street, 87 degrees F, A/C on high). The vehicle usually restarts immediately, but on [XXX] it would not restart for 5-7 minutes. After restart, cruise control retains its previous set speed, indicating an incomplete power cycle. The dealer (Kia Store East, [XXX]) has attempted repairs since September 2023 under Kia case #XXX, including crank position sensor replacement, MAP sensor replacement (June 2025), and a four-wheel-drive coupler replacement plus software update (October 2025); shutoffs continued after every repair. Historical fault codes include P0068 and B1763. Events have occurred in traffic and at intersections with several near-misses, including one that nearly caused a collision in an intersection on XXX. The dealership diagno
... sed a failure involving all 8 lifters on one side (bank) of the engine, requiring extensive engine repairs. My vehicle has approximately 74,000 miles, which I believe is low mileage for such a significant internal engine failure. The symptoms included severe engine vibration, misfiring, loss of performance, and the potential for loss of power while driving. This is not the first major failure I have experienced with this vehicle. In approximately April 2023, when the vehicle had about 32,000 miles, it unexpectedly shut off while I was reversing in a roadway. The dealership diagnosed a failed fuel pump control module (fuel pump modulator). Similar failures were later identified in recalls and corrective actions affecting other GM vehicles. I am concerned that my vehicle has experienced multiple failures involving components that appear to be associated with known issues affecting GM vehicles, yet my Tahoe was not included in applicable recalls. These failures created significant safety concerns, including unexpected engine shutdown, loss of vehicle operation, and potential loss of power while driving. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether my 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe vehicles should have been included in existing and future safety recalls related to these defects and other known defects that GM vehicles are experiencing with the motor, transmission and other parts. The vehicle has experienced repeated failures related to the diesel emissions system despite multiple repair attempts. The primary symptom is an illuminated check engine light accompanied by diagnostic trouble code P2459 (Diesel Particulate Filter Regeneration Frequency). The vehicle frequently enters regeneration cycles and continues to exhibit the same symptoms after major emissions system repai
... rs. The emissions system components, including the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and related DEF system components, were previously replaced by an authorized dealer. Following those repairs, the same warning light and fault code returned. The vehicle was subsequently inspected by another authorized dealer, which was unable to identify a definitive cause of the recurring condition. The check engine light was cleared, but it returned less than a week later with the same symptoms. The failure creates a safety concern because the vehicle may enter reduced-power or limp-home operating modes without warning, potentially limiting acceleration and the ability to maintain traffic speed. This is especially concerning when merging onto highways, crossing intersections, towing loads, or operating in heavy traffic. The recurring nature of the failure has reduced confidence in the reliability and safe operation of the vehicle. The condition has been reproduced multiple times and has been documented by authorized service facilities. Warning lamps and fault codes have repeatedly reappeared following repairs. The vehicle and emissions system components remain available for inspection upon request.Read more

There were absolutely no warning lamps, error messages, or mechanical symptoms prior to the failure; the engine locked up instantaneously without any advance warning. Following the incident, the vehicle was flatbed-towed to an authorized franchise dealership (Dossett GMC in [XXX]), where it remains un-repaired and is currently available for inspection by the manufacturer or federal investigators upon request. Critically, this vehicle was previously presented to a certified General Motors dealership at 34,766 miles for inspection and service compliance under Federal Safety Recall N252494001 (which covers engine component failure and subsequent loss of propulsion). The vehicle was cleared as passing the manufacturer's inspection protocol at that time. The total engine failure and seizure occurred less than 9,000 miles later at approximately 43,634 miles. Upon speaking with the service department of Hume's Chrysler, Jeep Dodge, and Ram of Waterford, PA, I was informed that they have seen this issue and that it is not covered by any warranty or recall because it's always caused by rust. This was only noticed because my wife's vehicle is in the shop and I parked in the garage causing me to notice it on the garage floor. My truck is normally parked in our gravel driveway and the oil leak went unnoticed. The truck was down approximately one-quart of oil when this was noticed. Had this not been noticed when it was, I fear that this issue could have caused an incident on the highway while the engine oil pressure was increased. My wife was driving our 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe around March 8, 2023 with our 3 children in the vehicle. She began merging onto interstate 70 when the vehicle made a noise and became undriveable. She could still steer but pushing the pedal down did not do anything. She had to carefully pull over off of the highway so that she did not get in an accident. This vehicle had to be towed to a mechanic
... who said the engine had seized up and that the oil is gone from the engine and that I would need to have it sent to a Hyundai dealer. This vehicle had 108,334 miles on it so it was just past Hyundai's 100,000 mile warranty. This vehicle was towed to a Hyundai dealer who confirmed that the engine was locked up and that an oil sample found metal in the oil. The dealership recommended to replace the engine with a used one for over $11,000 which I declined then charged me $160 for evaluating. No warning lights or indicators were ever showing any issues. We did notice sometimes after an oil change that they would state on the invoice that the oil was a half quart low. This vehicle was parked in a garage and never had a drop of oil leak. Hyundai recently extended the warranty for this vehicle to 150,000 miles and then declined my repair claim due to the repair not being done at a dealership. The sudden loss of power while driving was a scary incident for my family but thankfully no one was hurt.Read more

Low engine oil level appeared on my 2022 Silverado LTZ with the 6.2L engine for the first time of ownership. The truck is on the first 0W40 oil change performed for the engine recall with 42% engine oil life left. I get the oil changed around 30% left. Up until this point while running the 0W20 this hasn't happened. I'm now concerned that because of the oil viscosity difference that this may b

The vehicle is suffering from a chronic, cascading powertrain and fuel management defect that has resulted in a critical safety hazard: sudden engine stalling. Over the last 17,000 miles, the vehicle has experienced three severe engine/emissions failures that the manufacturer has been unable to permanently resolve. At approximately 30,000 miles (on 29-Jun-2025), the engine suffered a severe Cylin
... der 3 misfire (Code P0303). At approximately 39,000 miles (on 02-Jan-2026), the unresolved fuel issue caused a failure of the Catalytic Converter (Code P0420) and an Evaporative Emission System leak (Code P0456). At 47,000 miles (Current Event), the fuel delivery system failed completely. The engine began running excessively rich (Code P2178), causing the engine idle to drop dangerously low (Code P0506). This defect caused the vehicle to suddenly stall out, resulting in a complete loss of motive power and leaving me stranded. Because the manufacturer's authorized repair facilities have only addressed the symptoms rather than the root cause of the fuel system failure, the vehicle repeatedly loses power and stalls without warning. This poses a severe safety risk to myself and other motorists, especially when operating the vehicle in traffic or at highway speeds.Read more

Vehicle: 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe | Current Mileage: 140,000 Description of Safety Defect: While operating a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe at speed, the vehicle suffered a sudden, complete, and catastrophic loss of motive power in the middle of a live, active roadway without any prior warning or dashboard indicator lights. The transmission abruptly dropped out of gear and the engine shut down entirely, trap
... ping the driver and three young children in active traffic and creating an immediate, life-threatening highway safety hazard. The vehicle was towed to Sport Durst Hyundai in Durham, NC, where technicians confirmed a total internal transmission failure where the gears fail to engage. This exact mechanical failure mechanism directly mirrors the severe engineering defect detailed in NHTSA Campaign Number 22V746000 (Hyundai Safety Recall 236) for electric oil pump failures causing a sudden loss of drive power. Hyundai Motor America Corporate Case Management has issued a flat denial of all safety and goodwill repair coverage based strictly on the vehicle's 140,000 miles, claiming that mileage absolves them of product liability for a catastrophic drivetrain safety defect that endangered three young children. Furthermore, the franchise dealership is actively withholding the GDS diagnostic failure scan codes from the consumer, calling them "internal documents" to actively suppress federal evidence of this safety failure. Further, the authorized Hyundai dealership engaged in deceptive practices by refusing to put anything in writing, and refusing my request for any diagnostic information, including any report indicating diagnostic error codes, technician summary, etc.Read more
