I was driving the vehicle, when I started to fell a " Shuddering " sensation on acceleration. I let off the gas pedal and the Shuddering went away. A few miles down the road the check engine light came on and was flashing. I immediately pulled and shut the vehicle off. After sitting for 10 minutes I restarted the vehicle and the check engine light was no longer on, but the " Shuddering " sensation
... was still present. I took it to Dupratt Ford in Auburn,Ca. and they diagnosed it as a Cylinder 1 mis-fire. Upon further inspection they found water in the Cylinder 1 spark plug well. After doing some research I found out the Ford issued TSB 23-2011for this exact issue, but did not order a recall to fix the faulty windshield cowl which is the problem. I found thousands of complaints and numerous Ranger owners who have had the exact same issue and had to pay out of pocket to get the issue and damaged fixed. Meanwhile Ford knew about the issue and did absolutely nothing, did not even alert the owners of the issue. I was lucky and did not have to replace the cylinder head, but others have not been so lucky. I had to pay over $1800 to have the mis-fire issue fixed and had to do my own preventative measures to seal the windshield cowl. I contacted Ford and they were only willing to reimburse me $725 dollars of my repair bill which was 100% their fault.Read more

The motor in our 2023 Toyota Sequoia with around 32,000 miles failed and left me stranded on the side of a two lane highway in the middle of the night. Toyota only wants to replace the engine block and will not extend the warranty on the motor after it is repaired. This is the same motor that is in the Tundra that was recalled (NHTSA recall #25V767 for the V35A 3.4L i Force Max twin turbo V6 hybri

Now I will have a motor that has been torn apart and put back together by some random technician instead of getting a brand new motor from the factory, which is what they did for the Tundra. Toyota also extended the warranty on the motors for the Tundra, which they will not do on my rebuilt motor. So now if this motor they rebuild lasts as long as the first motor it will fail right after my warranty expires and I will have a Sequoia with 64,000 miles that has no motor and I will have to pay to have it replaced.Read more

The vehicle has an Auto Idle Stop no-restart/stalling issue. While stopped at a traffic light/intersection, Auto Idle Stop engaged. This left the vehicle disabled in traffic and cre
... ated a serious rear-end collision/intersection hazard. The issue was confirmed by a Honda dealer on 06/26/2026 at approximately 11,804 miles. The repair order states that code P07AF was stored and that a snapshot showed a drop in cranking voltage due to a failing starter. The dealer advised that the starter must be replaced, but stated the starter is on severe backorder. The vehicle remains unrepaired. Honda customer service case #16464445. The vehicle is a low-mileage 2025 Honda Odyssey purchased new in April 2025 and used as a family vehicle to transport children. Prior Honda service records show maintenance was performed at approximately 9,800 miles, including a multi-point inspection, and the battery terminals/cables/mountings and battery condition were checked OK at that time. This appears related to NHTSA Engineering Analysis EA25004, “No Restart After Auto Start/Stop Engages,” involving 2018–2025 Honda Odyssey vehicles. A valve on the 3.0L Duramax is allegedly sticking, causing the vehicle to go into limp mode or be inoperable. This is a known issue for GM and they have issued a service bulletin on it. This vehicle became subject to a manufacturer safety recall requiring complete engine replacement. The engine failure has been confirmed by an authorized GMC dealer, and the vehicle has remained out of service for more than one month while awaiting the recall remedy. The dealer has advised that the repair has been escalated through GM's SPAC (Service Parts Assistance Center) process because a rep
... lacement engine is not available. General Motors has also confirmed there is currently no estimated delivery date or estimated completion date for the repair. As a result, the recall remedy is effectively unavailable, and the vehicle remains unusable for an indefinite period. Although a temporary loaner vehicle has been provided, it is not functionally comparable to the recalled vehicle and does not provide the towing capability and utility required for its intended use. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized GMC dealer, who confirmed that engine replacement under the recall is required. The vehicle remains available for inspection. My concern is not only the original safety defect but also the inability to obtain the recall remedy within a reasonable timeframe. There has been no estimate of when replacement engines will become available, leaving the vehicle out of service indefinitely. I am submitting this complaint to document the delay in completing the safety recall and to request that NHTSA review whether the recall remedy is being provided in a timely and effective manner.Read more

I am requesting immediate review and resolution regarding a major engine failure in my 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 6.2L V8 engine. My vehicle has suffered a complete engine failure and is displaying code P0016 (crankshaft/camshaft correlation). This is a known and widely documented defect affecting GM 6.2L engines and is the basis of an existing recall and engine replacement program fo
... r similarly equipped vehicles. Despite my vehicle exhibiting the exact same failure, I have been informed that my VIN is excluded from the recall. This is unacceptable, as it reflects inconsistent application of a known defect remedy. Under consumer protection principles, including the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, manufacturers are obligated to address known defects and ensure consistent warranty and post-warranty remedies where systemic issues exist. Denying coverage for an identical failure based solely on VIN exclusion raises serious concerns. I am formally requesting a full goodwill engine replacement. This failure is clearly tied to a known defect pattern, and I expect GM to provide the same remedy afforded to other affected customers. Please escalate this case for immediate review and confirm next steps. I am prepared to provide all supporting documentation.Read more

Back in Jan 2025 I noticed oil consumption from 2020 F150 with the 5.0 engine. There is class action lawsuit against Ford currently for this problem they know they have. I informed my local dealer, that has always serviced my tuck on time over the years, that it was smoking. I have owned this truck since new in Sep 2020. It had roughly 33K miles on it when I first noticed it. The dealership starte
... d running consumption test on it under warranty at 36,370 miles. They changed the oil regular for the test and instructed me to drive it 1000 miles each time between changes. One change before they tried to fix it, it had consumed 5 quarts of oil. Ford says 1 quart per 10K miles is normal. They changed several motor parts when it was at 41,121 which took about a month. The problem got worse and I informed them and they again started testing it again and instructed me to drive it 1000 miles each time. They pushed the milage up and also ran it over on the warranty time frame and it has been at their location for over a month now, and Ford doesn't want to pay for a motor that only has 48,086 miles on it due to being out of warranty. They knew this problem existed and caused the warranty to laps and never fixed it. Now they are asking me to pay $11,598.42 for a new motor they knew was bad 15k miles before warranty went out. I am going through steps to make someone aware of this issue I'm currently dealing with. This motor has this problem, and they knew it and never fixed it and intentionally ran my warranty out so they would not have to cover it.Read more

Subject: Vehicle Safety Complaint – 2013 Ford F-150 Flex Fuel Transmission Failure I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2013 Ford F-150 Flex Fuel due to a serious and costly transmission failure that I believe warrants investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). I purchased this vehicle in 2020, and since that time it has experienced ongoing transmission
... problems. The transmission has progressively worsened and now slips during operation, creating a safety concern when accelerating, merging into traffic, or crossing intersections. The vehicle does not consistently respond as expected, increasing the risk of a crash. After having the vehicle inspected, I was informed that the transmission requires complete replacement at a cost of more than $7,000. This is an excessive repair expense for what appears to be a known issue affecting Ford F-150 trucks. I am aware that Ford has issued recalls and service actions involving transmission problems on other model-year Ford F-150s. Given the nature of the transmission failure in my 2013 F-150 and the widespread complaints from other owners, I believe the 2013 Ford F-150 should also be investigated for similar transmission defects. This failure is more than an inconvenience—it is a safety issue. A slipping transmission can result in unexpected loss of power, delayed acceleration, or failure to properly engage gears, placing drivers, passengers, and others on the roadway at risk. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate transmission failures in the 2013 Ford F-150 Flex Fuel and determine whether this model should be included in any existing or future safety recalls or other corrective actions. Owners should not be responsible for thousands of dollars in repairs when the failure may be the result of a widespread defect. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Read more

On June 9, 2026, my 2025 Acura MDX, with only 9,139 miles, stalled at a red traffic light after the Auto Idle Stop feature activated. The engine would not restart, leaving the vehicle disabled in an active traffic lane. I was unable to shift the vehicle out of Park and was stranded for approximately 5 to 10 minutes with my two young children in the back seat. The dashboard instructed me to fully d

There were no warning lights or other symptoms before the incident. I feared another vehicle would rear-end us because I could not move the vehicle out of the travel lane. After multiple attempts to turn the vehicle off and back on, it eventually restarted, allowing me to drive home. The vehicle was towed to the Acura dealership on June 10, 2026. The dealership inspected the vehicle, diagnosed a failed starter, and told me the failure was caused by the Auto Idle Stop feature. The starter was replaced, and I was instructed to disable the Auto Idle Stop feature every time I start the vehicle to help prevent the problem from happening again. The dealership has records of the repair, and the vehicle is available for inspection upon request.Read more

The Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) Phasers on my 2018 Ford F-150 3.5L EcoBoost have failed, resulting in violent, un-commanded camshaft movement within the engine. The vehicle is currently in my possession, and the failed components are available for inspection upon request. This failure puts my safety and the safety of surrounding motorists at extreme risk. The internal locking pins inside the c
... am phasers have degraded, which introduces excessive slack and erratic force against the engine's timing chain. If the timing chain jumps a gear or breaks due to this violent movement,a known consequence of ignored phaser rattle. The engine will suffer catastrophic internal damage. This will result in an immediate, sudden loss of motive power at highway speeds, leaving the vehicle completely stalled and un-drivable in moving traffic without warning. The problem is actively reproducible on every cold engine start, characterized by a harsh, metallic rattling noise lasting several seconds until oil pressure builds. Approximately two weeks ago, I contacted Ford Corporate Customer Relations to escalate this issue. During that call, Ford informed me that these exact cam phasers were already replaced in 2021 at Liberty Ford of Fayetteville, NC. The fact that a critical engine timing component has failed twice on the same vehicle indicates a deeply flawed, inherently dangerous design. Ford's prior attempts to remedy this through Customer Satisfaction Programs 21B10 and 21N03 clearly did not provide a permanent or safe resolution. Aside from Ford Corporate reviewing the VIN service history, the vehicle has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or an independent investigator. The primary and immediate symptom warning of this mechanical failure is the severe metallic clicking and rattling noise upon engine ignition. I am urging the NHTSA to investigate this recurring defect, as it poses a severe and unpredictable sudden-stall hazard for thousands of drivers.Read more

The vehicle is subject to Alfa Romeo Safety Recall 93C (NHTSA Campaign 25V586) for a defective Fuel Delivery Module. The safety defect is an active, un-remedied hazard. The vehicle is currently located at [Name of Alfa Romeo Dealership] for an official diagnosis and is available for inspection. The vehicle has an active safety recall for sudden, catastrophic engine stalling at highway speeds due t

Because the manufacturer has not provided a remedy or a safe alternative transport, I am forced to choose between driving a vehicle with an acknowledged highway-stalling hazard or being completely deprived of my transportation. The vehicle cannot be safely operated in commerce until Recall 93C is performed. The vehicle is currently undergoing inspection by the manufacturer's authorized technicians at the Alfa Romeo dealership. It has also been reviewed administratively through a claim with the National Center for Dispute Settlement (NCDS), which was denied based on mileage despite the active federal safety recall. The vehicle displayed an "Excessive Oil" warning and experienced heavy smoking from the engine bay beginning around June 25, 2026. While the vehicle has also been undergoing cooling system repairs, the presence of these severe engine warnings and thermal symptoms creates an immediate escalation of risk when combined with the active 93C fuel pump recall.Read more

My 2024 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate 1500 experienced a catastrophic powertrain failure that created a serious safety hazard. I initially brought the vehicle to Point GMC, where I was advised no issue was found. After the problem continued, I returned on XXX and a dealership technician rode with me. During the test drive on [XXX], the truck again shifted into neutral, confirming the defect. The vehicle was then towed to the dealership, where diagnostics revealed DTC P0016. I was informed the engine had seized and required a complete engine replacement. The engine was replaced by an authorized GMC dealership in New Jersey. After only about 2,000 miles, the check engine light returned and the vehicle began experiencing additional electrical issues. This is a Denali Ultimate, the highest trim level, with advanced electronic systems, making these recurring failures especially concerning. To date, the vehicle has been inspected by three authorized GMC dealerships, and I have opened multiple cases with GMC Corporate. Despite repeated repair attempts, the manufacturer has not provided a permanent resolution. I continue to experience recurring engine and electrical issues and no longer have confidence in the safety or reliability of this vehicle. ... dealer. They performed diagnostics 3 days later and replaced the fuel rail pressure sensor. It did not fix it. More codes according to dealer and they are involving engineers. Moving next week on military orders and car is still being worked on with no estimate of time to complete. Insanely concerning safety hazard for a brand new car to shut off on the highway. Could have died or killed others in accident. Unable to invoke lemon law yet but not comfortable driving the car again especially across the country on limited time.Read more
