"Emissions system problem" engine warning light has been on for quite some time. I know there is a service bulletin related to this issue, but my VIN is not covered. There are also several other warning lights that occasionally pop up, and my Honda dealer believes these are all related to the initial warning light. They mentioned that sometimes these systems start shutting down so the vehicle runs
... properly. Recently I received "transmission system prolem" (in conjunction with the slew of warning lights I have frequently been getting). No apparent issues until recently when I was driving on the interstate. The engine started to become very loud and when I looked at the RPMs it was very high, over 5,000 RPMs. The car wasn't shifting out of first gear at 55MPH. I immediately slowed down and got off the interstate as soon as possible. After arriving home, we unhooked the battery, re-installed, and all of the warning lights were gone. Again, the Honda dealer believes all of these issues were realted to the "emissions system problem", which is part of a service bulletin that should be covered by warranty extension. I beleive my VIN should be included, and the recent transmission system problem which happened on the interstate was very dangerous and could have ended very badly, had I not been in tune with what was happening.Read more

As she was

This was the second occurrence of this failure. A third incident occurred the following day under similar temperature conditions. During that event, MIL and battery warnings appeared again during normal driving. She was able to reach our driveway before complete shutdown occurred. On the most recent incident, the following diagnostic trouble codes were present: P0EEC, P1618, P0008, and U0111. These are the same codes that were recorded during the previous two incidents. After the first two failures, Kernersville Dodge stated the issue had been repaired and charged us for the repairs. The same failure condition has now reoccurred. GM issued a special coverage in bulletin N252508341 for the coolant control valve in my vehicle. This issue happened to my vehicle exactly as the symptoms are stated in the bulletin: check engine light, P1098 code, fan running at high speed with the engine on and off, and reduced acceleration. Which had all the issues and symptoms listed in the special coverage. Yet, they say it is not covered. This seems incredibly shady. And very wrong. Why in the world would they not be covering my vehicle? It seems unsafe to be driving a vehicle that has reduced acceleration, a fan constantly running at high speed, and a check engine light for malfunctioning parts. I am submitting a formal safety complaint regarding a severe design defect in the 3.5L V6 engine of my 2013 Ford Explorer. The vehicle is equipped with an internal, chain-driven water pump that is currently failing at 100000 miles, as evidenced by coolant actively draining from the factory weep hole. Because this pump is located inside the engine block and driven by the timing chain, a complete s
... eal failure dumps engine coolant directly into the oil pan. This is a critical safety hazard. When the coolant and oil mix, it destroys the engine bearings and causes the engine to completely seize without warning. If this sudden engine seizure occurs while driving at highway speeds, it results in an immediate and total loss of motive power, power steering, and power brakes. This defect creates an extreme crash hazard for the occupants of the vehicle and other drivers on the road. The internal weep hole provides virtually no dashboard warning or indicator to the driver before this catastrophic failure occurs. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate this known, dangerous design flaw to force a mandatory safety recall before this sudden loss of vehicle control causes severe injuries or fatalities.Read more

On February 21st at approximately 9:30 AM, I was driving my brand-new 2026 Chevy Suburban High Country when I began hearing an unusual noise from the engine. There were zero dashboard warnings — no check engine light, no alerts, nothing indicating a failure. Out of caution, I immediately headed to the dealership so they could inspect it. I was driving slowly and carefully when, without any warn
... ing whatsoever, the engine suddenly and completely seized. The vehicle locked up abruptly. I barely had enough time to try to move toward the shoulder, and I was unable to fully clear the roadway — the rear half of the vehicle remained partially in traffic. It was an extremely dangerous situation. What is especially alarming is that I was not on the highway at the time. Had this occurred while traveling 80–85 mph on SH-130 in Texas — which is a normal speed limit there — the outcome could have been catastrophic. A complete engine seizure at highway speeds could have caused a major accident involving multiple vehicles. Even more concerning, my Chevrolet app (connected through OnStar) still shows no issues or alerts with the vehicle. The attached pictures are from the My Chevrolet app on Sunday, 02/22/2026, around 11:13 AM. This is a brand-new vehicle, and I was informed yesterday that the dealership has requested a full engine replacement. I have no timeline for the repair. Very slowly a noise started on the passenger side of the engine and kept getting louder, didn’t know if it was a vacuum hose leak or something else. ... by to pickup the vehicle and he tells me that I can’t as the engine was taken apart on the passenger side. I told him, I didn’t authorize him to do that, only to find the noise, needless to say I was quite angry and I had no choice but to have them repair the exhaust manifold bolts which had broken towards the rear of the engine. After much discussion, he told me that this was a normal incident with this engine/vehicle combination due to heat buildup. I asked if there was a service bulletin on it and he played dumb and said no there wasn’t after telling me it happens a lot. To me this should have been covered under the long term factory warranty. The vehicle only had 61,500 miles on it. After hassling with him, I asked the price and it was going to over $6000.00, Again I am very angry, as I have no choice, and they end up replacing turbo parts that were just replaced 5,000 miles ago. I can’t believe how they handled it, no recourse and out of pocket $6,000. I made numerous calls to Ford in Michigan and got the total run-around. I really like this truck as it has served me well. Since, the service writer admitted that it was a continuous problem with this issue, as they have steel bolts going into an aluminum head, of course with heat there will be problems. I have heard of a few F-150 owners on a Ford website with the same issue and they ask the same thing, why not a recall? Rear Liftgate / Electrical Malfunction The rear trunk/liftgate has closed on its own without warning multiple times. I have personally been struck in the head several times as a result. This presents a serious injury risk, especially for families loading children or cargo. There is clearly an electrical or sensor malfunction causing this behavior. 3. Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) System Activating Randomly The most alarming issue is that the automatic emergency braking system has activated on its own multiple times while driving on the turnpike with no obstruction present. This has nearly caused accidents on several occasions. Unexpected braking at highway speeds creates an extremely dangerous situation for both my family and surrounding drivers. These issues are not minor inconveniences — they are serious safety hazards. Sudden braking, unintended liftgate closure, and transmission failure all create significant risk of injury or collision. Given the number of similar complaints publicly reported by other owners, I am requesting that NHTSA formally investigate these defects and determine whether a recall should be issued for affected 2019 GMC Suburban vehicles. This caused an immediate and dangerous speed differential, nearly resulting in a high-speed rear-end collision. Simulta
... neously, the AC system disabled, indicating a severe engine protection event. Manufacturer Negligence: The vehicle was taken to Courtesy Hyundai of Tampa twice for this issue (Code P0087). They performed a "Knock Sensor" replacement and cleared data points, assuring me the vehicle was safe. The failure recurred immediately. I subsequently took the vehicle to Brandon Hyundai on February 13, 2026. Despite my reports of near-fatal highway failures, Brandon Hyundai was instructed by Hyundai Corporate to merely repeat the "Knock Sensor" replacement—a repair that had already failed to resolve the dangerous condition. Critical Safety Admission: On 02/23/2026, Brandon Hyundai Service Advisor Abel Gomez explicitly admitted that this repair is "not a fix, it is a temporary thing until it shows again," yet stated they must follow Corporate’s directive to release the car. Requested Action: Hyundai is knowingly releasing a vehicle with a recurring, life-threatening defect (P0087/Sudden Power Loss) by performing "band-aid" sensor swaps instead of addressing the high-pressure fuel system or internal engine failure. This practice is a direct violation of the Safety Act. I request an immediate investigation into Hyundai’s refusal to perform permanent repairs on GDI engines displaying these catastrophic failure codes.Read more

I experienced complete engine failure at around 76000 miles similar to a current engine recall for 2021 to 2024 6.2L V8 engines. However, my engine isn't included in the current recall. I also experienced the fuel pump control module problem requiring replacement. Again there is a recall for 2021 to 2024 6.2L V8 engines and again my engine wasn't included in this recall.

The engine in my Honda Civic Si failed prematurely at 28,677 miles while the vehicle was still within Honda’s 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Honda and the dealership denied warranty coverage based on a recorded engine overspeed event of 6,900 RPM that occurred earlier at 19,259 miles. The engine’s rev limiter is 6,600 RPM, meaning the recorded event exceeded the limiter by only 300 R
... PM. After this recorded event, the vehicle continued to operate normally for approximately 9,400 additional miles with no warning lights, drivability issues, or indication of engine damage. The engine failure occurred suddenly at low mileage without prior symptoms. Honda has not provided clear technical evidence demonstrating how a minor overspeed event of this magnitude, occurring thousands of miles earlier, directly caused the engine failure. This raises concerns about premature engine failure, possible engine defects, and the reliability and durability of the Honda Civic Si 1.5T engine. It also raises concerns about manufacturers denying warranty coverage for failures without clear causal evidence. This failure resulted in loss of vehicle function and significant financial burden. The vehicle has been properly maintained and was operated under normal driving conditions. I am submitting this complaint because premature engine failure at such low mileage may indicate a defect affecting engine durability, safety, and reliabilityRead more

I was told there was a leak in my coolant system that has happened to many other with the 22 and 23 taos. If out of warranty the claim would be almost 5k even though my car is only 2 years old. The work needed to be done is labor intensive and also a issues with the cylinder head gasket.
