I have a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I purchased July 19, 2024.I started having operational problems with the vehicle within two months. The car was in and out of the dealership five times through Nov. 2025. Each time the problem was verified by the service department and documented as such, including an incident of the engine shutting down when entering the expressway. I filed a lemon law claim

The vacuum pump had a catastrophic failure. This led to failure of assisted breaking, and caused brake pedal to go rock hard while driving on the roadway. Metal shards from the vacuum pump broke off, and has now entered the engine. Chevy knows this vacuum pump is flawed, but did not include my model of vehicle in the recall. Even though it uses the same part. I received a “brake assist” messag

When driving at normal speed, my truck completely shut down with no warning. The instrument panel went dark and the engine shut off. I do not believe I was able to steer, though I think the brakes allowed me to slow the vehicle to a stop. I was near an intersection, so I was lucky to not have been hit from the rear or run in to traffic in front of me. The vehicle was unresponsive and would not tur

I inspected the battery connection and nothing seemed out of place or degraded while trying to get the car out of the road. Highway Patrol also looked, but only was able to offer a tow truck as a solution. My truck has been at the dealer service for almost 2 days awaiting inspection at this point so I have no additional information on what caused this dangerous situation. There had been no indication prior, the truck had started and run normally and all scheduled services had been carried out by the dealer up to this point.Read more

On January 24, 2026, my wife was driving the vehicle we purchased in May 2025 from Ziegler GMC in Lincolnwood, Illinois. She was traveling with our [XXX] son at the time and was able to safely maneuver the vehicle off the highway onto an exit ramp. Despite multiple attempts, the vehicle would not restart. She c

We waited approximately four hours for roadside assistance before the vehicle was towed to the nearest GMC dealership, located roughly one mile from where the breakdown occurred. Several days later, the dealership completed diagnostics and informed us that the engine required full replacement. At that time, no replacement vehicle was provided. Approximately one week later, we were finally issued a loaner vehicle. As of today, the vehicle has remained in the shop continuously since January 24. On February 23, we were informed that the necessary parts had only just arrived. There is still no estimated completion date for the repair. The vehicle is covered under both the manufacturer’s warranty and an extended warranty. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

On April 24, 2025, I plugged my Kia EV6 into my 48-amp hardwired ChargePoint HomeFlex at 7:26 PM. Around 10:30 PM I heard a noise outside but did not investigate. At 12:25 AM I noticed I had not received a “charging complete” notification. The Kia Connect app showed the vehicle at 74% and no longer charging. The ChargePoint app was unresponsive. The next morning I found the charger’s 60-amp
... breaker had tripped. After resetting the breaker and rebooting the charger, the EV6 would not start charging and displayed no “Charging started” or “Charging unsuccessful” message. I then attempted to charge using a portable Tesla Level 1 charger on a 120V GFCI outlet. The EV6 briefly announced “Charging started,” but the dash showed no charging data. The outlet’s GFCI breaker tripped. After resetting, the breaker immediately tripped again when reconnecting the vehicle. I attempted to drive to a nearby DC fast charger. Upon shifting into drive, the vehicle displayed “Check electric vehicle system” and entered power-limited mode (would not exceed 20 MPH). I returned home. While backing into my driveway, the vehicle triggered a red alert with “Stop vehicle and check power supply.” The vehicle was towed to a Kia dealership. They diagnosed a failed ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit) and high-voltage fuse. The ICCU recall issue is known for this model. Repairs took over two weeks due to parts delays. The ICCU and high-voltage fuse were replaced. The ICCU failure also damaged my home ChargePoint charger, which required replacement under warranty.Read more

1. The engine starter motor (specifically the pinion starter) has failed, and the auxiliary battery is also showing reduced capacity (only a portion of its 660 cold cranking amps). The failure of t
... he starter motor and battery primarily affects the vehicle's ability to start. While this could potentially strand you in an unsafe location, the information provided does not indicate any specific safety incident or risk that occurred during operation. No direct safety hazard has been reported. 3. Yes, a technician has diagnosed the problem and confirmed a fault code in the drivetrain related to the failed starter motor. The technician also identified the auxiliary battery's reduced output. This confirmation comes from a service center, which could be a dealer or independent shop. 4. The only inspection mentioned is by the technician at the service center. There is no indication that the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others have inspected the vehicle or components. 5. Yes. Prior to the failure, when starting the car in the early morning, a "drive train service" message appeared on the display, advising you to visit a service center as soon as possible. This warning was the first symptom of the problem before the starter ultimately failed and the battery drained. This aligns with the technician's diagnosis of a drivetrain fault code related to the starter motor.Read more

Codes indicated problem with the engine's variable valve timing, which can be caused by a faulty VVT solenoid or actuator, worn timing chain/ belt or a bad camshaft position sensor. The OBD-II code P0012 indicated that the intake camshaft position was 'overretarded' for bank 1. Vehicle: 2019 Infiniti QX50 Mileage at engine replacement: 31,830 miles Date of engine replacement: August 2023 (recall-related repair) The engine in my 2019 Infiniti QX50 was replaced under recall at 31,830 miles in August 2023. Approximately 18,633 miles later, the vehicle began experiencing transmission malfunction symptoms consistent with CVT failure. An independent mechanic diagnosed the CV

I then took the vehicle to an Infiniti dealership, and they confirmed transmission issues but declined warranty coverage because the powertrain warranty expired February 28, 2025. The transmission is directly integrated with the engine in this vehicle. Following the engine replacement, the transmission began exhibiting unsafe operating behavior, including hesitation, loss of acceleration response, and drivability instability. There are widespread consumer complaints and litigation involving this engine and CVT transmission combination in the 2019 Infiniti QX50. The vehicle has developed a pronounced knocking noise that was diagnosed by your authorized dealership as “piston slap.” I was informed by dealership staff that this is a known issue with this vehicle. However, because the vehicle is outside of warranty by time and mileage, I was told no repair assistance would be provided. My primary concern is safety. While there are currently no warning l
... amps illuminated, the engine is producing a consistent knocking noise. If this condition progresses to piston or engine failure while the vehicle is in operation, it could cause sudden loss of power or engine seizure. Such a failure at highway speeds or in traffic could create a serious accident risk to myself and others. Additionally, I was charged one hour of diagnostic labor, despite the dealership immediately recognizing the noise as piston slap without needing further testing. This raises concern that: The issue is well-known, The condition was identifiable without extensive diagnosis, Yet I was still billed for a full diagnostic hour. Given that this is acknowledged as a known issue, I am requesting: A formal review of this case by your product safety and quality department. Clarification on whether this condition has been the subject of technical service bulletins, extended coverage programs, or internal advisories. Consideration of goodwill repair assistance due to the potential safety implications. Reimbursement of the diagnostic charge, as no true diagnostic procedure appears to have been required. Written confirmation that continued operation of the vehicle in its current condition does not present a safety risk. I am prepared to provide service records, invoices, and any additional documentation needed. Given the potential safety implications, I respectfully request a response within 48 hours. I am hopeful the manufacturer will stand behind the safety and reliability of its product and address this matter promptly.Read more
