On April 12, 2026, while traveling approximately 65 mph westbound on XXX in [XXX] (just east of Exit XXX), the engine in our 2022 GMC Yukon Denali failed without any prior warning. This occurred on a four-lane highway where I was in the lane furthest from the shoulder. The engine shut off, the vehicle automatically shifted into neutral, and I had to cross multiple lanes of traffic to reach the sh
... oulder without power steering while the vehicle was rapidly decelerating. I had my [XXX] son and [XXX] dog in the vehicle at the time, which created a significant safety risk. VDOT arrived on scene within minutes but was unable to jump-start the vehicle. I contacted Southern Buick GMC Kia in Greenbrier, VA and arranged for towing through their service. The vehicle was towed to their facility the same day. On April 14, 2026, the dealership informed me that the engine had failed and contacted GMC headquarters to order a replacement engine under the vehicle’s VIN. The vehicle remains at Southern Buick GMC Kia in Greenbrier, VA, where it is available for inspection by NHTSA. Previously, a PicoScope test was performed on October 7, 2025, under warranty code XXX. At that time, the engine was determined not to be eligible for warranty replacement; the oil was changed and a new oil cap was installed. The vehicle has a dangerous hesitation and delayed acceleration when I am coasting and then reapplying the accelerator. This occurs in scenarios such as approaching a yield, slowing for a left turn on a green light, or slowing to merge where I reduce speed but do not come to a complete stop. When I press the accelerator to resume speed, the vehicle does not respond for a significant period. The tr
... uck fails to accelerate even with substantial throttle input, including pressing the pedal to the floor. After the delay, power may return suddenly. This delayed response creates a serious safety hazard in traffic. The hesitation occurs at the exact time immediate acceleration is needed to clear an intersection or merge into traffic. This has created near-miss situations due to the vehicle not accelerating when expected. Warning lights and diagnostics: No check engine light is illuminated during the events. The issue occurs without any visible warning indicators on the instrument panel. Conditions: The hesitation is most noticeable during coasting and throttle reapplication at low to moderate speeds, especially when slowing but not stopping. It is not limited to one specific road or location. Service and repair attempts: The vehicle has been presented to a dealer on 06/30/2025, 07/09/2025, 07/17/2025, 08/01/2025, and 02/06/2026. Additionally, I called and confirm there was no software update, recall, or corrective action to be taken on 03/25/2026. The dealer stated they could replicate the issue but could not identify a solution. No permanent fix has been provided.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2015 Dodge Dart SXT with an active safety recall that currently has no available remedy. My vehicle experienced failure related to the recall issue, resulting in the vehicle becoming inoperable and requiring repair. At the time of failure, I was informed that the official recall remedy was not yet available and that the necessary part was on backorder.
... Because no recall remedy was available, I was forced to pay out of pocket to repair the vehicle in order to restore operability. I also incurred significant rental vehicle expenses while my car remained in the repair shop awaiting parts. I contacted Stellantis/Dodge Customer Care multiple times requesting assistance or reimbursement related to: * the repair costs associated with the recall-related failure, and * rental expenses incurred while the vehicle was out of service. My requests were denied, and the matter was repeatedly categorized as an “out-of-warranty” issue despite my concern specifically involving an active safety recall with no available remedy at the time of failure. I am concerned about: * the lack of an available recall remedy, * the financial burden placed on consumers when a recall-related failure occurs before a remedy is available, * extended delays due to backordered parts, and * the absence of transportation assistance or reimbursement for affected consumers. I am requesting that this complaint be documented and reviewed as a recall-related consumer safety and financial hardship issue.Read more

This vehicle has ongoing drivability issues that have not been resolved despite multiple repair attempts involving engine-related components and repairs. The issue began in November 2024 while the vehicle was under warranty with coolant and engine warnings. At that time, I reported coolant loss, warning messages, hesitation during acceleration, and abnormal vehicle vibration. I was initially told
... no issue existed. Shortly after warranty expiration, the vehicle required a major head gasket repair in 2025 after continuing to exhibit the same coolant-related issues. In 2026, the vehicle required an additional engine-related repair involving a camshaft seal in the same area of the engine that had previously been dismantled and rebuilt. Despite these repairs, the same drivability symptoms remain. The vehicle intermittently hesitates during acceleration, particularly from a stop or during merging conditions, where engine RPM increases significantly before the vehicle responds. The vehicle also exhibits significant steering wheel and seat vibration at highway speeds and during extended driving. These conditions create a potential safety concern because the vehicle does not consistently respond as expected during acceleration and becomes unstable and uncomfortable to operate at highway speeds. The hesitation creates concern when entering traffic, crossing intersections, or attempting to accelerate in situations requiring predictable vehicle response. The issue has been repeatedly presented to the dealership and repair attempts have been performed, including major engine work, but the condition remains unresolved. The repairs were treated as separate isolated issues rather than a continuation of the original condition first reported under warranty. The vehicle has been out of service for approximately 43 days across these repairs. No loaner vehicle was provided during those periods. The vehicle remains in its current condition with unresolved issues.Read more

On 4/27/26, my family and I were traveling south on Colorado C470 at 8 AM. Our 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 had catastrophic engine failure at highway speed as we were passing an 18 wheeler. The failure caused the vehicle to lose power and engine, and the display said to put the truck in Neutral and restart the engine. After coasting to the shoulder, the engine would not restart. We were stranded on
... the highway during rush hour for an hour and 1/2 waiting for a tow truck. This scenario is identical to the safety risks outlined in NHTSA Recall 25V274 (and investigation PE 24-007). This failure resulted in the intake manifold being physically displaced and damage to the timing assembly. The dealership is attempting to deny coverage by claiming the "upper gallery" damage (timing/intake) is unrelated to the "lower end" issues covered under the special coverage/recall [ this is a Dealer Quote]. This logic is technically flawed: Consequential Damage: A catastrophic lower-end failure (e.g., a broken connecting rod or seized crankshaft bearing) at 80 mph creates the massive internal pressure required to shatter or "blow off" a plastic intake manifold. Timing Linkage: The timing chain is physically connected to the crankshaft. It is mechanically impossible to have a catastrophic crankshaft failure at high RPMs without causing secondary damage to the timing gears and "upper gallery". Recall Precedence: My vehicle exhibits the exact failure mode—loss of motive power due to bearing failure—currently being investigated by the NHTSA for 2019-2024 L87 engines.Read more

... r a few days, then experienced shaking and heard vibrations when breaking and idling. Within a few minutes, MIL appeared with audible warning, "Take this vehicle to a Kia dealership." Immediately parked car. Towed to Kia dealership. No record of DTC P1326 found, which would have qualified vehicle for new engine under PI1802 Y/Z Theta II Extended Warranty. Diagnostic found misfiring cylinder and fouled spark plug. Technician in the video stated "oil consumption." Due to absence of P1326 code, service manager suggests we replace fouled plug and return with the vehicle when the same issue happens again. This does not follow Kia's own guidelines in PI1802 Y/Z campaign for a couple of reasons. First, activation of the MIL in conjunction with the audio warning indicates the Knock Sensor P1326 code should have been generated and stored, but the warning system must have malfunctioned. Service dept. did not to inspect the knock sensor harness for damage or oil saturation which could have kept the code from registering. Second, Service dept. did not consider shaking and vibration as "engine noise," which would have required them to perform a BCT or test for connecting rod bearing noise, providing a pathway to request Techline PWA approve replacing the engine under warranty. Kia's Product Improvement Campaign for Theta II engines ought to prevent injury or death resulting from catastrophic engine failure. My vehicle presents clear evidence of engine failure progression at different stages. Rather than navigate the warranty via a Techline, Kia has advised me to continue driving.Read more

... le, decreased acceleration, and poor fuel efficiency. I have found the problem to be Coolant Intrusion – Engine Defect Concern “Coolant intrusion” is a known engine design defect in which coolant leaks into the cylinders, leading to internal damage, misfires, and eventual engine failure. After researching it I found that many other people have had the very same issue with no help from Ford. This should be a recall as this is an internal issue with the short block and something that should have been disclosed before purchasing this model/engine. The only repair that will fix the core of the issue is replacing the entire short block which costs thousands of dollars, way more than the cost of the entire vehicle at this point. Without fixing the issue, the engine will fail. Again, this should be something Ford should pay to repair, not any customer who came into this blind.Read more

Stellantis has been giving me the run around and throwing every excuse in the book why they won’t do it. The most recent excuse is they say the website provided is not a legitimate webpage so they aren’t going to follow the NHTSA guidelines it sets forth. Per the 2023 update to the class action ruling my truck is supposed to be covered, and after looking online there are hundreds of others facing the same problems. There is even a petition with 250 signatures online about this issue. Short of filing a class action I’m not sure what else to do. According to everything I’m reading per the NHTSA I’m in the right, but FCA/Stellantis is denying responsibility. When we finally found a safe parking a vehicle stopped to alert us of a noticeable fire at the bottom front of the Honda. We jumped out and 911 was called. By the time Police, followed by the Fire Dept, the front of my CR-V was engulfed by fire. I had just purchased this 2025 Touring Sport from Carmax 6 months earlier and it had just 7091 miles to it. My insurance and Honda were notified and claim and case #s were filed. Insurance offered a settlement but no word yet from Honda. Inspections were performed by both. Insurance inspectors report it as potential mechanical failure. Honda should offer reparations for the loss of my vehicle and placing our lives and those around us in danger.Read more

I recently purchased a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and began experiencing serious issues almost immediately after taking possession of the vehicle. The vehicle has stalled unexpectedly while driving on multiple occasions, including during active driving conditions. It also has difficulty starting and has shut off without warning. The vehicle has already undergone multiple repairs within a short peri
... od of time, including work related to the radiator, spark plugs, and ignition coil. Despite these repairs, the issues continue. This creates a significant safety concern, as the vehicle becomes inoperable without warning, especially during daily highway driving. I rely on this vehicle for transportation, and it is currently unreliable and unsafe to operate.Read more

Within 24 hours of buying the vehicle back in February, the truck has not run red Lightning bulbs, electronic throttle control system Lights all started coming on that system was replaced by a certified mechanic. The system then did it again, literally, 1 day later. Now I'm not certain about the new part, which has been discontinued. It's some sort of pigtail off of that. And again the wiring pig
... tail or whatever it is called. I am uncertain is defective in has been discontinued. I'm into the truck for over $10000, including the purchase price. It has not run 1 day since But after the incident, my mechanic did the car fax on it. The odometer had been rolled back over 100000 miles or replaced whatever the situation, the car facts did not match up with the actual truck information that was sold to me contacted the individual and sold me the truck. He has ghost meat, will not return. Calls will not give me back. The money will not even answer my calls. Any longer longer only through the national highway transportation safety association did I find out that this could be defective parts possibly covered by the manufacturer. So again , i'm not sure where I stand on this uncertain i have contacted several state and federal government agencies. That's how I ended up here, trying to go through the process of getting this taken care of but I got the Attorney General national highway, safety transportation board involved along with the state police, I guess here in Massachusetts have a division for this so. I'm filling out the form and doing what i'm supposed to trying to get myself reimbursed , or at least this truck fixed , because again pots have been discontinued and nobody including dodge dealerships , do not want to work on it the truck is currently sitting in a mechanic shop. All receipts of work done and affected parts is in the truck at mechanic so I have receipts for all of thisRead more

Despite proper maintenance, the vehicle is burning oil at an excessive rate. I have already replaced the oil pan, but the issue persists. I now have to add oil frequently between oil changes. This creates a serious safety concern, as low oil levels can cause engine failure while driving, leading to sudden loss of power or stalling in traffic. This puts me, my passengers, and other drivers at risk.
... There are no visible leaks, which suggests the oil is being burned internally. This appears to be a potential defect rather than normal wear and tear. I am requesting that this issue be investigated as it may affect other vehicles of the same make and model. This is becoming very expensive having to refill oil as the dipstick shows nothing. This has been confirmed by technicians that there has been no oil in my car despite coming in on time or before the recommended miles. The oil light will come on a few weeks after having the oil changed. It seems this is an issue with this engine type.Read more

Getting P06DA trouble code meaning that there is something wrong with the oil pressure solenoid in the oil sump. this is a known issue where the wiring of the solenoid get frayed. cost of repair for the (cheap part) is $7,500 because of 18 hour labor involved. MB knows this is an issue with the wiring in the solenoid. I'm not sure if there is a fire risk because of the frayed wires.

Description of Incident: The vehicle is experiencing significant engine oil dilution by gasoline. Upon inspection of the dipstick, the oil level is consistently found to be well above the "Full" mark, and the oil emits a strong, pungent odor of raw fuel. This indicates that unburnt gasoline is bypassing the piston rings and entering the crankcase during normal operation, particularly in colder tem
... peratures or during hybrid engine cycling. Safety Risk: The dilution of engine oil with fuel significantly reduces the oil's viscosity and lubricating properties. This creates a high risk of premature engine wear, rod bearing failure, and sudden engine seizure or stalling while the vehicle is in motion. A sudden loss of motive power at highway speeds poses a severe crash hazard to myself and other motorists. Attempts to Correct: I have noted that similar Hyundai models using the 1.6L platform (such as the Tucson Hybrid via TSB 23-EE-002H) have received software updates to address this specific issue. However, when contacting the dealer regarding my Elantra Hybrid, I was informed that no such software fix or service campaign currently exists for the CN7 Elantra model, leaving the safety defect unaddressed. Expected Resolution: Hyundai should be required to issue a recall or technical service bulletin for the Elantra Hybrid to update the Engine Control Unit (ECU) logic, ensuring the engine reaches and maintains temperatures necessary to prevent fuel accumulation in the oil.Read more
