I have a paid in full 2018 Ford Escape 1.5L Eco Boost. I am just over the 150k mile mark and out of the blue I was left stranded on the side of a completely dark highway at 4:30AM after working a shift. The car alerted me out of no where with no indication of an issue arising that the engine was overheating and to pull over immediately. The coolant was completley empty even tho I had an oil change
... and check up the week prior, while getting this done there was no indication of low coolant. I was able to refill the coolant with the help of a friend and make it home that night. 2 days later on the way to work on the same highway it happened again out of the blue with no warning or indication yet again. I was able to get my boss to bring me coolant so I could refill it and get to work and off the highway, the coolant somehow was dry to the bone again. After this second occurrence I took my car to 2 different trustworthy mechanics close to my house to be diagnosed. Both mechanics were able to diagnose that the issue is coming from coolant is leaking into the engine and causing the car to overheat and engine failure. The only option to fix the car is to get a new engine. Currently my car is not drivable and I have no transportation. Ford is aware of the issues with the engine and I have had many phone calls and case numbers with them to try and get my car fixed by them. However I am out of luck because my VIN is not included in the current recall 26S01 EVEN THOUGH they are fully aware this recall affects many makes and models. I've been given no news or time frame on if or when the 1.5L engine will be added to this recall. Again Ford is fully aware of the issue and that it is affecting many makes and models but claim until my VIN is attached to the recall they can't do a thing. This 2022 Bronco Sport Outer Banks lost it's alternator pulley and that caused the serpentine belt to break. Since the vehicle could not be driven it was towed to Joe Myers Ford in Houston, TX. The dealer wanted a extremely expensive price, $1800.00, to replace the alternator and belt. The vehicle was offered to the dealer for trade to determine value and see if it was possible to upgrade to a ne

That ended discussion and the vehicle was then moved to a private auto parts parking lot where a mobile technician repaired it. It was then taken to two other authorized Ford dealers and offered for trade. Each dealer only offered the same amount...$5000.00. One dealer even said "We don't really want this vehicle. I even found out that they are not even allowed to resell it with this recall in place. They have basically caused it become worthless. You should take it to a used car dealer for appraisal. This caused me to start wondering 'what' may be wrong with this vehicle to case a 2022 year model to be valued so low. The VIN number then got run through NHTSA and voila! Now we know why Ford doesn't want anything to do with it. The Ford Recall #25S76 and NHTSA Recall #25V467 clearly explain that the vehicle can catch on fire and cause personal injury. None of the 3 Ford dealers ever mentioned this Dangerous Recall. I never received any notice in the US Mail, an email, phone call or any form of notification about this vehicle being a fire danger. All my info is on file with Ford and it's all been usable since the purchase date. NO Notice was ever received and children had even been driven around many times. How DARE FORD for putting mine and other family's children in danger!!!!! And there still isn't a Remedy for the problem. Ford needs to buy back this vehicle and send it to the Salvage Yard!Read more

I was told the dealership is "Dolan" and not "Toyota". I again expressed my concerns about safety and the dealerships' denial to, at minimum inspect the recalled part and/or housing of the part. Emily, the Service manager stated that Toyota does not "allow" loaner vehicles for this particular recall. She could not provide any sources for this information. To summarize; the dealer with not provide an inspection of the recalled part and/or housing, or give an estimated timeline for repair given I am #125 on a waitlist. NHTSA Safety Complaint — Narrative [XXX] ) Vehicle: 2022 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT Component: Engine — Oil Leak / Stator Cover Incident Date: April 2025 Mileage at Incident: 5,700 NARRATIVE: In late April 2025, I discovered engine oil leaking from the stator cover of my 2022 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT, specifically at the alternator wire grommet where the wires exit the engine case. The bike had been
... parked after a ride for approximately two days when the leak was noticed on the garage floor. This is a known manufacturing defect affecting the Honda Rebel 1100 and the Honda Africa Twin, which shares the same engine. The failure results from inadequate or improperly applied ThreeBond sealant at the triangular grommet/stator cover interface during factory assembly. Oil leaking in this area can contact hot engine components and poses a potential fire and safety hazard. The motorcycle has only 5,700 miles and was purchased new in August 2024. It has been garage kept, ridden in fair weather only, and maintained per Honda's recommended schedule. This is not a wear or maintenance issue — it is a factory assembly deficiency. The repair was performed on May 7, 2025 at [Dealership Name], Bardstown, Kentucky, at a cost of $245. Honda declined goodwill reimbursement (Case No. XXX). I am filing this complaint to create an official record of this defect. I believe this issue is underreported and warrants Honda's attention and a formal investigation. I am the owner of a Nissan Rogue subject to recall campaign R25D1, which addresses a manufacturing defect affecting engine bearings and/or engine components that may progressively fail over time, leading to engine damage and engine failure. I brought my vehicle to Headquarter Nissan in Columbus, GA (the same dealer that issued the recall notice) for diagnosis after experiencing engine problems. Th
... e dealer’s diagnostic findings document a complete engine failure consistent with the recall description, including: •EGR valve failure (valve could be opened to 70 degrees with no change in engine performance, when anything over 20 degrees should cause the engine to stall) •Engine overheating •Blown head gasket •Failed EGR cooler •Total coolant loss (vehicle arrived with no coolant; 2 gallons had to be added before fluid registered in the overflow) The dealer’s recommended repair is full replacement of the engine, turbo, catalytic converter, EGR valve, and EGR cooler, along with all gaskets and hardware. The estimate provided is $9,514.72. Despite the failure pattern matching the recall description (progressive component failure leading to engine damage), the dealer is denying recall coverage by attributing the root cause to the EGR cooler rather than the bearings or engine components named in the recall. This causation is also inconsistent with the diagnostic write-up itself, which describes the EGR valve as the initiating failure that led to overheating and subsequent damage to the head gasket and cooler. I am filing this complaint because the dealer’s denial appears to be a reframing of a recall-eligible failure to shift repair costs onto the consumer. I am requesting NHTSA review of how recall R25D1 is being applied at the dealer level and whether failures like mine are being inappropriately excluded.Read more

The truck was taken to a GMC dealership for diagnosis and repair under warranty/service contract coverage. The dealership initially diagnosed valvetrain-related failure and replaced multiple top-end
... components including lifters, rocker arms, camshaft-related parts, belts, pulleys, hoses, and associated hardware. After reassembly, the engine reportedly started briefly and then failed again. The dealership then performed additional teardown and determined the lower end of the engine had also failed. I was informed by dealership staff that rod bearing failure is “very common” on the L87 6.2L engines. Due to the extent of the damage, the vehicle ultimately required a complete long block replacement. My truck remained out of service from approximately 12/31/2025 until 5/1/2026, a period of roughly four months. During that time, there were repeated delays involving diagnosis, inspections, warranty approvals, and additional teardown procedures. The vehicle had approximately 111,858 miles at the time of failure and had been regularly maintained. Prior to the engine failure, the truck exhibited abnormal engine ticking/knocking noises under load and higher RPM operation. The final repair performed was replacement of the engine long block assembly. I am submitting this report because the dealership indicated this type of lower-end/rod bearing failure is common on the GM 6.2L L87 platform, and I believe this issue may represent a broader reliability and safety concern affecting other owners.Read more

Driving down the highway in heavy traffic and the truck shutoff unexpectedly, I came to a complete stop and luckily avoided being rear ended and had to go from Drive and Park and recycle the ignition to restart the truck and limp off to a safe place.

We were told by the mechanic that the engine was locked up after the car refused to drive faster than approximately 23 mph. We had to have the car towed from Boone, NC which was about 200 miles. The car is at our house and is available for inspection upon request. I have made repeated calls to different Kia dealers asking for a call back to assist me with direction but there will never be a retu

On May 2, 2026, ten days after purchasing the vehicle, the driver‑side seatbelt locking mechanism failed while I was driving. The vehicle was inspected the next day at CarMax Tuscaloosa. Their mechanic confirmed two separate safety defects: 1. The driver‑side seatbelt mechanism requires replacement. 2. The motor mounts are broken/loose and require replacement. The mechanic explained that debri
... s was found inside the seatbelt mechanism, and the seatbelt needed full replacement. He also confirmed that the motor mounts were broken/loose, which can cause excessive engine movement, vibration, loss of power, or engine shifting during braking or acceleration. These conditions increase the risk of stalling or sudden shutdown, which is consistent with what occurred during my incident. The failed components are: • The driver‑side seatbelt locking mechanism • The motor mounts/engine mounting system Both components remain on the vehicle. The seatbelt failure left me unrestrained while driving. The vehicle then shifted into Park and shut off in the middle of traffic, creating a risk of being struck by other vehicles or losing control. The broken motor mounts increase the risk of engine movement, stalling, or shutdown while driving, which could lead to loss of steering control or sudden deceleration in traffic. Yes. A CarMax mechanic at the Tuscaloosa, AL location confirmed both defects: As mentioned above The vehicle was inspected by CarMax Tuscaloosa. Jaguar Birmingham declined inspection because they do not service Jaguars older than 2018. An independent Jaguar specialist declined inspection due to prior non‑payment issues with CarMax. No manufacturer, police, or insurance inspection has occurred. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the failure. The seatbelt malfunction occurred suddenly. The engine shutdown occurred immediately after the seatbelt unlatched while braking. The vehicle remains unsafe to drive due to the unreliable seatbelt, broken motor mounts.Read more

I experienced sudden unintended acceleration which propelled me over a curb, up an embankment, over a boulder and into a fence. I could have been killed or I could have killed others because I had no control of the car. The Hyundai corporation will not acknowledge this. The car was inspected and declared a total loss and is being moved to a location where it can be stored at no cost. There was no

During acceleration from 40-60 miles per hour, there was a pronounced vibration/shudder through the front end of the vehicle. After taking it to the dealership, they advised both front axles would need to be replaced. The catastrophic failure of an axle is likely to cause a car crash. ... fixed. Ford Motor Company issued Customer Satisfaction Program 25N09 On September 17, 2025. My vehicle is a 2023 model year, but produced at the same plant and in the same time frame as the the ones mentioned in 25N09. There were no warning lamps or messages about the problem. The only indication was the heavy vibration a few thousand miles prior to getting it looked at.Read more
