While traveling from upstate New York, the vehicle displayed an engine overheating warning shortly after startup while the engine was still cold. Because I was away from home, I stayed overnight and the next morning took the vehicle to a Kia dealership for inspection. The dealership inspected the vehicle and diagnosed a problem with the exhaust heat recovery system pipe. According to the service
... department, coolant is leaking internally through this component and is being burned in the exhaust system. The cooling system was pressure tested and held pressure externally, indicating the coolant loss is occurring internally through the exhaust heat recovery system rather than from an external leak. This condition can cause coolant loss and overheating while driving. If the engine overheats while the vehicle is in operation, it could create a safety risk due to sudden loss of power or engine damage. The dealership confirmed the diagnosis after inspection and testing and provided a repair estimate to replace the affected exhaust heat recovery system component. The overheating warning message was the first symptom observed prior to diagnosis. The problem was confirmed by the dealership after inspection and testing. This issue may indicate a defect in the exhaust heat recovery or thermal management system used in this hybrid vehicle, as coolant is entering the exhaust stream internally rather than leaking externally. If this type of failure occurs in other vehicles, it could lead to overheating while driving and potential engine damage.Read more

2023 1500 RST 6.2. Recall was done and performed last year. Truck passed so they changed the oil and sent me on my way. I have had zero issues up until last week. My gut tells me the replacement is going to be the same engine with the same failing parts that I already have so expect I may have issues in the future even after the new engine. -on interstate going 55MPH, went to accelerate to 70M
... PH and throttle did nothing; no rpm,no down shift, no speed change. Just dead. Suddenly the truck shut off the engine and kicked my transmission into neutral. I tried to restart the truck hoping it would fire just long enough to get me to a safe zone with no luck as the starter would turn but nothing from the engine. Mind you this was rush hour in a construction zone with no shoulder available at the moment. Luckily I coasted, got to the slow lane and was able to veer off safely onto the side of an exit ramp. No notice, no way to safely limp my truck, just a complete shut down. How this isn’t a lawsuit or more people haven’t been seriously injured or worse is beyond me- a total shutdown while driving highway speeds and no way to overcome or at least limit the speed for a short period is unbelievable. Even though warranty is now through 2033/150k miles for the powertrain due to the recall, and I’ve also thought about adding 3-4 years extended for bumper to bumper with all the tech, I now have ZERO faith in my truck or my safety once I get it back. I’m sure the trade value will also be considerably low due to the 6.2. I’ve owned Chevys for 12 years and am either going back to the 5.3 or switching brands altogether. I am reporting a safety issue with my 2023 Nissan Rogue Platinum involving engine failure. ⸻ My 2022 Nissan Pathfinder experienced a catastrophic engine failure at approximately 70,000 miles. The vehicle suddenly developed severe engine knocking and required a complete engine replacement. There were no engine warning lights or oil pressure warning lights prior to the failure. The vehicle had been maintained according to the manufacturer’s recommended service intervals, including o
... il changes using full synthetic oil. The Nissan maintenance system indicates oil changes at approximately 10,000 mile intervals. Because there were no warning indicators prior to the failure, the issue occurred without any notice to the driver. A sudden engine failure without warning could present a potential safety risk if it occurred while driving in traffic or at highway speeds. The repair required a full engine replacement at a cost exceeding $8,000. The vehicle was just slightly outside the manufacturer’s powertrain warranty at the time of failure. Given the relatively low mileage and lack of warning indicators before the engine failure, I am submitting this complaint so the issue can be documented and evaluated for potential safety concerns or patterns of engine failure in this vehicle model.Read more

While driving on highway, on 3/11/26, car powered down. I had to coast to side of highway. I was able to turn vehicle on after several minutes, but SEVERAL system malfunction error messages (hybrid, accelerator, pre-collision, tpms, airbag, engine…) appeared. The vehicle would not accelerate beyond 10mph. Once I moved it to a safe location, I had the vehicle towed to the dealership. The deale

The car has had other related issues since June 2024 when I bought it. The TPMS system, the accelerator system, and the airbag system have all malfunctioned independently. The accelerator system malfunctioned in Jan. I had to pay for a replacement fuse despite the warranty. The vehicle is modified with Braunability equipment for wheelchair access. These modifications are approved by Toyota and were completed by MobilityWorks. Aside from the vehicle itself being unsafe to drive, the passenger sliding door has had numerous problems. On 3/07/26, the door mysteriously slammed shut after opening and would not open again. These are all dangerous situations that could have resulted in fatal accidents.Read more

My 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (3.6L eTorque, automatic transmission) has had recurring drivetrain instability since about 2,000 miles while under factory warranty. It intermittently has high RPM flare during acceleration, delayed shifting, shuddering under load, and abrupt engagement. At low speeds (about 10–5 mph), it harshly downshifts, grabs suddenly, RPMs jump up and down, and it can feel li
... ke it will stall; it has stalled intermittently. Braking feels inconsistent, and at times it feels like the vehicle resists braking or surges before slowing. The forward collision warning/automatic emergency braking has activated with no obstacle present, and the power steering assist has been lost intermittently. There is also an engine tick and a high-pitched whining noise from the engine/drivetrain area. In January 2026, the transmission catastrophically failed and required replacement of the transmission, torque converter, cooler, and control module. The vehicle was out of service for over 24 days. After installation of a new Mopar remanufactured transmission and torque converter, the same symptoms returned. AAMCO has now found that the new torque converter failed, with metal shavings throughout the transmission, in the fluid, and at the bottom of the pan. I was advised that the vehicle should be sent to a Jeep dealership because no codes are currently present. I was also advised that the dealership may replace only the torque converter rather than the entire transmission, despite recurring failure and metal contamination. This presents a safety concern due to loss of acceleration, unpredictable torque engagement, stalling, unintended braking activation, power steering loss, engine/drivetrain noise, and repeated drivetrain failure. I have all the records if requested, file is too large to send in the upload area.Read more

... ith a GDI engine, I had been chasing down the usage of too much oil for several months. I get oil changes at 3,000 miles, and I would be 1/2 quart to 1 quart low at 3,000 miles. Dealership service staff in Beavercreek, Ohio, said that Kia considers the usage of one additional quart of oil per 1,000 miles to be "acceptable" - that makes zero sense. I was told that they would do a piston soak, and they directed me to a formal procedure on Kia's website. I used this process, and it definitely cleaned out all of the carbon. This did not fix the issue. Taking my youngest daughter to a dinner following her high school national honors society induction, I experienced an engine knock as I accelerated onto the I75 north. It felt like a strong jolt back. The 2018 Kia Soul Plus has been a 3,100-pound roadside decoration since November 2025. I am the owner of a 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate equipped with the 6.2L V8 L87 engine (VIN: [XXX] ), purchased new approximately three months ago. I am filing this complaint proactively. I have experienced no engine failure or symptoms to date. However, I am filing based on a documented pattern of L87 engine failures in 2025 and 2026 production vehicles, confirmed by multiple GM dealership
... technicians, which suggests that the manufacturing defect underlying NHTSA Recall 25V-274 may not have been fully resolved by GM’s stated production improvements dated June 1, 2024. NHTSA Recall 25V-274 (April 2025) covered 597,630 vehicles from model years 2021–2024 for catastrophic L87 engine seizure caused by connecting rod bearing failure and crankshaft defects. GM excluded 2025 and 2026 model year vehicles based on a claimed manufacturing fix. However, multiple 2026 production vehicles have since experienced the same bearing failure at extremely low mileage. Open NHTSA Investigation EA25007 is already examining vehicles outside the original recall window, and Recall Query RQ26001 is investigating the adequacy of GM’s remedy. I am requesting that NHTSA consider expanding the investigation scope to include 2025 and 2026 model year vehicles. As a 2026 owner of a $90,000+ truck with the identical engine configuration, I believe my vehicle warrants inclusion in any expanded investigation or recall action. On February 21, 2026, my 2022 Cadillac Escalade ESV experienced a sudden and complete engine seizure at highway speed at 57,825 miles just 8,613 miles after passing GM's PicoScope inspection under Safety Recall N252494000 (NHTSA Campaign 25V274). After fueling, I entered a highway on-ramp and accelerated to approximately 70 mph. Within 30 seconds, the engine lost power completely with no prior war

The vehicle behaved as if shifted into neutral, decelerating rapidly from 70 mph to 40 mph while I was navigating an exit merge ramp. I reached the right shoulder safely. Under normal weekday traffic, this failure on an active merge ramp could have caused a serious collision. The engine would not restart. The vehicle would not shift out of Park. OnStar could not remotely start the vehicle. A tow truck was dispatched; the operator could not shift the vehicle to neutral and required a dolly. The dealership confirmed the engine had seized and the engine would not crank. A complete engine replacement was performed under the recall warranty (RO 606490). The recall remedy was performed August 20, 2025 at 49,212 miles. GM records confirm the PicoScope result: "Engine Passed." The engine seized 8,613 miles later with no warning. This is consistent with 30-plus NHTSA complaints reporting loss of propulsion after the prior remedy, and demonstrates the inspection-based remedy is insufficient to identify engines at imminent risk of seizure.Read more

I am reporting a safety concern involving BMW vehicles equipped with the B58 Technical Update (B58TU) engine, commonly found in model years 2019–2021. These vehicles utilize a variable-displacement engine oil pump containing an internal thermoplastic adjusting component responsible for regulating oil pressure. Field failures are increasingly being reported in which this internal component fract
... ures, resulting in sudden loss or instability of engine oil pressure. The failure frequently occurs during cold-start operation in low ambient temperatures. When the component fails, oil pressure regulation becomes erratic or is lost entirely. In many cases, drivers receive little or no actionable warning prior to engine damage or vehicle disablement. Reported precursor symptoms include inability to electronically measure engine oil level, abnormal oil pressure behavior, or sudden drivetrain malfunction warnings. Failures may rapidly progress to engine shutdown or severe mechanical damage caused by oil starvation. Loss of lubrication can cause the vehicle to become disabled without warning while driving or shortly after startup. This creates a safety hazard, particularly when vehicles become immobilized in active traffic or during winter conditions the cold is when they fail the most, where occupants may be exposed to freezing temperatures while awaiting assistance. As I waited for 4hr in -15c. Replacement of the oil pump requires extensive disassembly of the vehicle and repairs costed $8349 for just the pump, assuming the motor is unharmed. Owners are currently unable to determine whether their vehicles contain the original thermoplastic oil pump design or a later revised version utilizing metal internal components, as VIN-based parts information now identifies updated components in the car even when no replacement has occurred and the old components are actually in the car. Also, BMW has actively removed the plastic part number out of all dealer networks as well.Read more

After numerous calls, I found this is a very common ($7,500-$11,000+) issue with '18-'21 models. Explored my options only to find the 2021- 2026 engines are worse with issues involving crankshaft, engine seizures and an active lawsuit with the new 6.2L V8 engines. (Silverado, GMC Sierra, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukons) I was then pointed in the direction of speaking to the GM Manufacture directly, again. I had contacted them numerous times and was told the damages, even though are not preventable and are directly due to a manufacture error. I was told I must take my vehicle to a licensed service dealer to be diagnosed. I informed them, that I was already told my vehicle would not be covered so I did not feel the need to endure additional cost only to be told the cost would again, not be covered. I'm not seeking full payment; I even mentioned Goodwill assistance of which they denied; however, I'm without a vehicle and have received very little to no communication in resolving this issue, which is an issue I'm finding is happening to many others alike and General Motors Corp, is not taking any responsibility or accountability in this matter.Read more

I own a 2017 Ford F‑150 equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. The vehicle currently has approximately 70,500 miles. The dealer diagnosed a ticking/rattling noise coming from the top left side of the engine near the timing cover. Using a stethoscope, the technician determined the noise was related to the timing system. The dealer recommended replacing the cam phasers, timing chain guides, and
... timing tensioners, along with all related seals and gaskets. The total estimated repair cost is $5,957.08. After researching the issue, I found that this cam‑phaser rattle/ticking problem appears to be widely reported by many owners of F‑150 trucks equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. I also learned that Ford Motor Company issued Customer Satisfaction Program 21N03, which extends cam‑phaser coverage for certain vehicles with this engine. However, when I contacted Ford Customer Service, I was informed that my VIN was not included in the program and that no financial assistance was available. I was directed back to the dealership. Given the relatively low mileage of the vehicle and the number of similar reports from other owners, I believe this may represent a systemic defect in the cam‑phaser/timing system. I respectfully request that this issue be investigated and considered for a recall or broader coverage program so affected owners are not responsible for costly repairs caused by this defect. If the cam‑phaser or timing components fail while driving, it could potentially affect engine performance, create a stall condition, or lead to loss of power, which may pose a safety risk.Read more

I bought this 2022 Jeep Renegade in 2023. Upon changing the oil today (3/13/2026) my mechanic found a rear main seal leak. He stated to check for recalls/safety as this should not be happening; the car only has 54,000 miles on it. I have called a couple friends that have one and they too have leaks. Is this covered for repair under a recall? Also the engine stalls when I try to take off, jerking
... and stalling. I know this isn't normal for this car to act like this. It will also stall or jerk sometimes while driving it. I will have this car two years this April 2026. I love the car but not with safety issues. Please fix this for all owners.Read more

The engine oil light came on during late September or early October of 2024 while on the highway. There was a severe loss of power. I was able to get the car back to my residence and changed the oil filter and oil. The error persisted, I then changed the oil pressure switch to see if that was the issue, but it did not resolve. In approximately December of 2024, a friend who is a mechanic and has t
... housands of hours of experience offered to look at the issue. He pulled the engine and found that the oil pump belt and timing belt were severely degraded and had clogged the oil screen. He replaced the two belts and cleaned the screen hoping it would resolve the issue. In approximately late may or early June 2025 I got the car back and by the beginning of August the engine had seized due to damage received when the oil pressure had failed due to a clogged screen back in 2024. Thankfully I was not on the highway when the engine seized.Read more

I am writing to formally escalate a serious unresolved issue with my Genesis vehicle and the service experience I have received from Genesis of Huntington. My vehicle has experienced repeated and dangerous malfunctions despite multiple repair attempts. The most concerning issue is that the vehicle suddenly stops functioning properly while driving, accompanied by all dashboard warning lights flash
... ing. In order to continue driving, I have had to turn the vehicle off and restart it. The vehicle has been brought back to the dealership multiple times for the same problem. Each time I was informed that the issue had been repaired and that parts had been replaced. However, the problem continues to occur even after these repairs. One of the most alarming incidents occurred while I was driving from Huntington back to Queens with my wife and newborn child in the car. The vehicle malfunctioned again, forcing me to stop and restart the car while on the road. This situation created a serious safety risk for my family. Additionally, the vehicle has been kept by the dealership for extended periods during repair attempts. As of my most recent interaction, the dealership had the vehicle for nearly two weeks during the third repair attempt for the same issue. Despite this significant amount of time, the problem remains unresolved. Compounding the issue is the lack of communication from the dealership. My attempts to contact the service department and management for updates have often gone unanswered, leaving me without information regarding the status of my vehicle. At this point, I have lost confidence in the reliability of the vehicle and the ability of the dealership to properly diagnose and repair the issue. I respectfully request immediate intervention from Genesis Motor America to review this matter. Given the repeated repair attempts for the same defect and the safety concerns involved, I ask that Genesis consider a permanent resolution.Read more
