I am reporting a safety concern involving my 2026 Hyundai Palisade Limited involving repeated engine malfunction warning lights and diagnostic trouble code P001600 (camshaft/crankshaft timing correlation fault). This issue has occurred multiple times within the first 60 days of ownership and the vehicle has been taken to a Hyundai dealership twice. The dealer has not been able to determine a perm
... anent repair and states the code is stored as a history fault without an available fix at this time. This defect is concerning because camshaft/crankshaft timing correlation faults can potentially result in engine stall, loss of power, or unexpected shutdown while driving, which could create a serious safety risk. I routinely drive long distances and transport two small children in this vehicle and no longer feel confident in the safety and reliability of this vehicle due to the unresolved engine defect. Additionally, I understand there is a recent safety recall affecting certain 2026 Hyundai Palisade vehicles, which increases my concern about the safety of this vehicle platform. I am submitting this complaint because this appears to be a potential safety defect involving engine operation that could affect safe driving conditions.Read more

My 2019 Range Rover Velar P250 R-Dynamic SE began experiencing cooling system issues approximately 5 months after purchase. The vehicle was brought to an authorized Land Rover dealership several times during the warranty period. Despite these visits, the underlying problem — including cracked thermostat housing, leaking coolant hoses, and plastic cooling system components — was never permanent

The cooling issues are consistent with known Land Rover service bulletins covering: “Thermostat housing / coolant outlet leaks”, “Coolant crossover pipe / O-ring leaks”, “Turbocharger coolant pipe leaks”. The defect substantially affects vehicle reliability, safety, and value. I have attached: Dealer repair orders, Independent shop invoices for cooling repairs, engine and turbocharger replacement invoice, timeline of events showing repeated repair attempts and resulting failures.Read more

Complaint Description I am filing this complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration regarding a safety issue with my new Mercedes Benz Sprinter 2500. I purchased this vehicle brand new from Mercedes Benz Manhattan. From the first day of ownership, I began experiencing multiple serious problems with the van. The main issue is that exhaust smoke and/or crankcase gases enter the
... cabin while driving. In addition, the vehicle experiences strong vibrations and the transmission frequently kicks or shifts abruptly. On several occasions this issue has caused the engine to stall while driving. (Traffic light stop) These problems create a potentially dangerous situation and make the vehicle unsafe to operate. The dealership, Mercedes Benz Manhattan, has attempted to repair the vehicle many times, but the problems persist and have not been resolved. Because of the ongoing safety risks, I believe this issue should be investigated.Read more

I just survived a terrifying incident that proves the current GM 6.2L (L87) engine "recall fix" is a dangerous myth. Living with the "Ticking Time Bomb" I bought my 2023 GMC Yukon AT4 brand new, but for the last two years, I haven't truly "owned" it—it has owned me. Every long-distance trip with my family was filled with anxiety. I constantly worried that I’d be the next one stranded on the
... side of the road while my neighbors' and friends' 6.2L engines were seizing all around me. I traveled with fear that I’d be coming home in a rental car. The False Security of the Recall When the recall finally arrived, I thought the nightmare was over. On Sept 15, 2025, my dealer in Newburgh, NY, inspected the truck at 48,000 miles. They told me my engine "passed," switched the oil to 0W-40, and issued me a 150,000-mile extended warranty. I realized then what I know for sure now: 0W-40 oil is a band-aid, not a cure. GM used thicker oil to "cushion" a physical manufacturing defect in the crankshaft and bearings just to avoid the multi-billion dollar cost of engine replacements. They traded my family’s safety for their bottom line. The Catastrophic Failure Last Friday, March 13, 2026, the "fix" failed. I was traveling 70 mph uphill on I-84 with my **newborn baby** and two other kids in the back. Without warning, the engine seized solid. I lost all propulsion in heavy traffic and had to fight to get my children to the shoulder. We sat in the freezing cold for over an hour while traffic flew by us. An extended warranty is worthless when your engine dies in a high-speed traffic lane with an infant in the car.Read more

The vehicle is experiencing a failure of the dual-zone HVAC system where the passenger side consistently blows hot air while the driver side is set to cold. This indicates a failure of the HVAC blend door actuator (servo motor), which is a known issue for this model year. This failure poses a safety risk as it can prevent proper defrosting and defogging of the windshield during inclement weather,
... obstructing driver visibility. Also should note While driving, the vehicle becomes excessively loud and behaves as if it is stuck in the wrong gear, accompanied by a significant loss of engine power. An onboard diagnostic alert has indicated a malfunction in the electronic control of the engine throttle or automatic transmission. This 'limp mode' behavior creates a hazardous situation during highway driving or merging, as the vehicle cannot maintain speed or respond to throttle inputs, increasing the risk of a rear-end collision.Read more

Engine failure due to connecting rod bearing manufacturing defect (NHTSA PE25008). Component: engine; available for inspection upon request (replaced; documentation available). WARNING SYMPTOMS: At 94,000 miles during routine maintenance while under warranty, I reported engine knocking to the dealer. The advisor dismissed it as "normal valve noise" and did not document the complaint. Knocking pro
... gressively worsened over thousands of miles. FAILURE: At 100,750 miles the engine required immediate replacement. Dealer diagnosed rod bearing failure; bearing was worn and failing. Engine was replaced before catastrophic seizure. I had just returned from a family trip — seizure at highway speed would have caused loss of power, power steering, and braking assistance, creating serious crash risk. CONFIRMED: Dealer diagnosed and performed engine replacement. Honda provided partial goodwill coverage but refused to disclose the percentage or provide written documentation. When I formally requested full coverage for this defect under federal investigation, Honda stated the case was closed and refused to put the decision in writing. Honda recall 23V-751 addresses this defect but excluded this vehicle despite identical failure. Vehicle was maintained per Honda Maintenance Minder at dealerships.Read more

I am reporting a recurring safety and reliability issue with my 2022 Kia EV6 GT-Line (VIN: [XXX] ). The vehicle currently has approximately 63,100 miles. I am filing a formal safety complaint regarding my 2020 Hyundai Palisade due to severe and ongoing engine oil consumption that presents a safety risk, combined with an active federal airbag safety recall. For approximately one year, my vehicle has been consuming excessive engine oil. Approximately 1,500–2,000 miles after an oil change, the vehicle becomes dangerously low on oil. On January 19, 2
... 026, at 171,650 miles, the dealership initiated Hyundai’s official oil consumption test. At intake, the engine oil level was so low that nothing was visible on the dipstick. The dealership confirmed no external oil leaks were present and began the manufacturer’s oil consumption protocol. After driving approximately 1,000 miles, I returned on February 2, 2026, at 172,657 miles. The inspection showed the engine was 2.6 quarts low. The dealership stated combustion chamber cleaning was needed; however, Hyundai denied the repair based solely on mileage and the vehicle being out of warranty. This level of oil consumption presents a serious safety concern. Driving with critically low oil can cause sudden engine failure, stalling, or loss of power while traveling at highway speeds. This could create a crash hazard without warning. Additionally, my vehicle is subject to NHTSA Recall #26V034000 (Recall #292 – Ejection Mitigation), involving potential failure of the side curtain airbags for third-row passengers to deploy properly in certain crash scenarios. The remedy is not yet available. The combination of excessive oil consumption and an unresolved federal safety recall raises significant concerns regarding the overall safety and reliability of this vehicle. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate the engine oil consumption issue in the 2020 Hyundai Palisade, as excessive oil burning may indicate a broader manufacturing defect affecting engine integrity and driver safety. I am submitting a claim regarding a major repair needed on my 2018 Honda Accord. The vehicle was recently diagnosed at an authorized Honda dealership, where technicians determined that the engine requires a head gasket repair. I was quoted approximately $7,000 for the repair. Based on the research I have done, premature head gasket failure appears to be a known and recurring issue reported by ot
... her owners of this model, often occurring around 100,000 miles or even sooner. This type of failure at this mileage is unexpected for a properly maintained vehicle and raises concern about a potential defect or design issue. Additionally, the vehicle showed no clear warning signs prior to the diagnosis. There were no dashboard warnings or indicators that would have alerted me to an imminent failure, which made it impossible to address the problem before significant damage occurred. Given the nature of the failure, the relatively low mileage for such a major engine issue, and the high repair cost quoted by the dealership, I am requesting that this matter be reviewed and that assistance or coverage for the repair be considered.Read more

After going through a touchless car wash with undercarriage spray and clean, the vehicle stalled 5-10 minutes later. This occurred after the wash was completed and driving away. If I had to guess this was a sensor or some electrical component that may have been affected by the water spray from underneath. There were no
... check engine or other warning lights when this occurred. Attempted to restart the engine. After a few seconds longer than normal it started and appeared to run fine. Drove it home afterward. If the water caused the issue there are serious implications for driving in rain, through puddles, or snow as that water can migrate up into the engine compartment during driving (would be especially dangerous at highway speeds). If it makes any difference, the vehicle did idle fine for a few minutes after leaving and stopping outside the touchless car wash. Only after a walkaround, removing trash from the vehicle, and then driving away did the stall occur.Read more

On Friday, March 13, 2026, while traveling at approximately 60 mph on the highway, my 2021 Chevrolet Suburban equipped with an L87 6.2L V8 engine experienced a sudden and complete loss of motive power. The failure sequence began with a dashboard warning prompting me to "press the start button again," followed immediately by the vehicle shifting into neutral without any driver input. Despite repeat

Subsequently, the rear wheels locked, forcing the vehicle to coast to a complete stop on the hard shoulder without any brake input required from the driver. Upon coming to a full stop, the start button continued flashing with repeated prompts to press it, the vehicle lock emblem illuminated on the dashboard, and the vehicle became fully and mechanically immobile, unable to shift out of neutral or transition into any other gear. The engine could not power the vehicle at all. My safety and the safety of other motorists were directly and seriously endangered, as the failure occurred without warning in the middle lane of an active highway at highway speed, leaving the vehicle unable to maneuver or accelerate out of harm's way.
