When driving home on the evening of 3/24, I was on the interstate (70mph) when my 2021 Nissan Rogue started to decelerate and would not gain speed. I got off at the next frontage road exit and when at the stop sign my check engine light came on and shortly after my car started sputtering when stopped and would barely gain speed. There was no prior warning lights or signs to indicate an issue. The
... car dealership was already closed so it was taken the morning of 3/25 where a diagnostic was performed. They said that they would need to replace the Engine Assembly - Long Block and that it wasn't covered since my vin wasn't affected. I called consumer affairs and I am outside of the extended warranty by 2000 miles so they will not assist. This has been a known issue wth Nissans enginea failing, and their extended warranty isn't long enough. My engine should not have juat failed with no warning.Read more

We have already filed a report regarding multiple unresolved warranty defects that Ford Motor Company has refused to address for over a year. Among these is a recurring fuel pump failure—an issue that has now occurred multiple times. The most recent incident happened just a couple of weeks ago in the Twin Cities after being told by our dealer that there was not an issue or fix for the fuel pump
... issue, where the truck stalled in active traffic, creating a situation that could have resulted in serious injury or worse, death! Despite repeated attempts to resolve this matter, Ford’s latest response is unacceptable and has directly led to this additional complaint. We have been told that no action will be taken unless we personally drive this unsafe vehicle to a dealership for inspection. When we made it clear that doing so would put us at risk, we were dismissively told to have it towed if we were unwilling to drive it. Let us be absolutely clear: we will not endanger our lives to accommodate Ford’s refusal to honor its warranty obligations. We are being asked to operate a vehicle with known, unresolved defects that have already proven dangerous. This is not only irresponsible—it is indefensible. If this matter is not addressed immediately and appropriately, we will have no choice but to escalate further.Read more

While driving, the vehicle stutters during acceleration, creating hesitation and inconsistent power delivery. This occurs during normal driving conditions and has not improved after being inspected by a dealership. The issue has been reproduced multiple times and remains unresolved. The vehicle was taken in for service, but no effective repair was provided, and the condition persists. There is a
... n active recall related to a potential fuel injector defect, which may cause fuel to accumulate on top of the engine. The recall remedy is currently unavailable. Given the ongoing stuttering and known fuel system issue, there is concern this condition is related. This creates a safety risk, particularly when merging into traffic or accelerating from a stop, as the vehicle does not respond consistently. No warning lights have consistently appeared. The issue continues despite dealership involvement and lack of available recall repair.Read more

I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe to be a serious and systemic safety defect involving GM 6.2L engines equipped with fuel efficiency systems such as Active Fuel Management (AFM) or Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM). I have experienced catastrophic engine failure in two separate GMC Yukon Denali vehicles with nearly identical symptoms, which strongly suggests a broader design def
... ect rather than isolated mechanical issues. My first vehicle, a 2015 GMC Yukon Denali XL, developed significant engine performance problems consistent with known lifter and camshaft failures widely reported in GM vehicles using these fuel efficiency systems. Due to ongoing reliability concerns and the financial burden of potential repair, I was forced to trade this vehicle at a loss. My second vehicle, a 2016 GMC Yukon Denali XL equipped with the same engine platform, suffered sudden and catastrophic engine failure in February 2026. This failure occurred abruptly and without meaningful prior warning, rendering the vehicle inoperable and creating a potentially hazardous situation. Sudden engine failure of this nature presents a significant safety risk, particularly if it occurs at highway speeds or in heavy traffic. An oil service had been performed on this vehicle in December 2025 at a Jiffy Lube franchise. After the failure, an independent service provider documented that the oil fill cap had been left loose. However, the Jiffy Lube franchise and its insurance carrier have denied responsibility, asserting that the engine failure is attributable to known defects and reliability issues associated with GM’s fuel efficiency engine systems. As a result, both the manufacturer and the service provider are denying responsibility for a catastrophic mechanical failure that has serious safety implications. This leaves consumers exposed to sudden engine failure risk with no meaningful recourse. Based on my direct experience with two separate vehicles exhibiting similar catastrophRead more

TO: USAA Claims Department; Jaguar Land Rover North America Customer Care CC: Jaguar Land Rover Parsippany; Jaguar Land Rover Glen Cove; Jaguar Land Rover Freeport I am writing to formally report a serious safety hazard involving my 2015 Range Rover Sport and to request immediate intervention. Vehicle Information: Year/Make/Model: 2015 Range Rover Sport VIN: [XXX] Current Mileage: Approximately 1
... 27,000+ I purchased this vehicle in 2015 from Jaguar Land Rover Parsippany, New Jersey, and have consistently maintained it through authorized Jaguar Land Rover service providers. Since as early as 2017, I have reported recurring engine, throttle, and coolant-related issues. As documented in my prior complaint to Land Rover corporate dated April 2017, I raised concerns regarding service integrity and handling of my vehicle (Exhibit A). In September 2017, I reported that the vehicle would not accelerate properly, required restarting to function, and exhibited drive mode and throttle issues (Exhibit B). By 2021, Jaguar Land Rover Glen Cove service records confirmed coolant leakage from engine cross-over pipes, repeated low coolant warnings, and engine-related concerns requiring repair (Exhibit C). Additional diagnostics identified check engine light activation, restricted performance mode, and recommended repairs that were not resolved (Exhibit D). Despite these documented findings, the vehicle was repeatedly returned to me without full resolution of the underlying mechanical defects. On January 22, 2025, Jaguar Land Rover Freeport documented that repairs could not be performed due to “pre-existing engine codes” and identified the need for a potential engine replacement exceeding $42,000 (Exhibit E). At no point was I clearly advised that the vehicle was unsafe to operate or that continued use could pose a serious safety risk. I was not instructed to discontinue driving the vehicle. I was going 50 mph, and almost wrecked. The engine wasn’t over heating, it was 53 degrees outside and I had just pulled out of my driveway.. engine still cold. Now , I can completely fill the engine and reservoir with coolant and it still depletes the coolant as well as won’t drive just to leave the driveway. Component/System Failure: The turbocharger system failed, specifically the wastegate arm, resulting in loss of boost and reduced engine performance. The failed component should be available for inspection upon request through the servicing dealership. Safety Risk: The failure caused a sudden loss of engine power while driving, placing me and others at risk, especially in traffic situations where
... acceleration is required (such as merging, crossing intersections, or maintaining speed). This created a hazardous driving condition. Confirmation of Issue: The problem was diagnosed and confirmed by an authorized dealership. The diagnosis stated: “turbocharger wastegate arm damaged causing loss of boost and DTC,” which matches known issues described in GM’s Special Coverage. Inspection History: The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership service department. It has not yet been inspected directly by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Warning Signs Prior to Failure: Yes. The vehicle displayed a check engine light and reduced engine power message prior to the failure. These symptoms began shortly before the vehicle experienced noticeable loss of acceleration and performance. Additional Information: This failure is consistent with a known issue acknowledged by General Motors under Special Coverage for similar vehicles experiencing turbocharger-related defects. Despite having the same failure and symptoms, my vehicle was excluded based on lot number, not condition or diagnosis.Read more

My 2016 Subaru Outback CVT transmission has exhibited an intermittent jerking and grabbing sensation when accelerating from a stop, worse when cold, since at least February 2023. The technician stated the vehicle never warmed up durin
... g the test drive and dismissed the concern. The CVT issue was never repaired. I was never informed of Subaru's CVT warranty extension program. February 17 2026 — seven days before my warranty expiration — the same authorized Subaru dealer physically identified and documented a CVT oil pump cover leak. The same jerking complaint was again documented in writing. No repairs were made and the warranty expired one week later. The CVT defect has been physically confirmed by an authorized Subaru dealer within the warranty period and Subaru of America has denied my warranty claim in writing. This issue presents a safety concern. The unpredictable jerking and hesitation when accelerating from a stop creates dangerous situations in traffic, particularly at intersections and when merging. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Subaru chose to handle this known widespread defect as a quiet warranty extension rather than a mandatory recall despite hundreds of owners reporting identical symptoms.Read more

... in writing and verbally with codes for this current service, with non compliance. My car is still at the dealership needing work and I need current diagnostic report before I pay for repairs. I am attaching a dealership diagnostic e-Report for my 2013 Kia Optima from 2024. While the report lists “No Current DTC” for several systems, it also documents multiple “Communication Fail” errors across critical modules, including Smart Key, Head Lamp, Air Conditioner, Brake, and other systems. These communication failures indicate a broader electrical or network issue within the vehicle, not simply a failed battery. The report also shows that certain diagnostic scans were not properly performed. Additionally, there are historical fault codes related to TPMS and weight classification systems, further supporting that the vehicle has experienced ongoing electrical issues. Despite these findings, the dealership attributed the vehicle failure solely to a bad battery and did not provide a current battery diagnostic test. They also failed to address an open recall related to electrical/fuse issues prior to this failure. Based on this past diagnostic report, I believe the root cause of my vehicle’s failure is an unresolved electrical defect, potentially related to the outstanding recall, rather than normal battery wear. This has resulted in my vehicle becoming inoperable and poses a serious safety concern.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious and ongoing safety issue with my 2017 Honda CR‑V equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine. While driving, the vehicle experienced sudden and unexpected power loss, creating a dangerous situation, particularly while in traffic. During this incident, the vehicle also began emitting visible smoke, indicating a serious mechanical or engine-relate
... d failure. At the same time, the dashboard and instrument panel malfunctioned or failed, limiting my ability to receive warnings or diagnose the issue while operating the vehicle. Over the past 23 months, I have brought this vehicle to three different Honda dealerships due to warning lights, abnormal behavior, and ongoing concerns related to performance and reliability. Despite multiple service visits, the dealerships were unable to properly identify or resolve the underlying issue. Temporary explanations or repairs were provided, but the problem persisted. It was only during the most recent dealership visit in the last week that the issue was finally properly identified, after months of unresolved complaints and warning indicators. By that time, the vehicle had already experienced a serious failure involving power loss, smoke, and dashboard malfunction. The prolonged inability to correctly diagnose and repair this vehicle, combined with the sudden power loss and system failures, created a significant safety hazard. This failure could have resulted in a crash and placed vehicle occupants and others at risk. I believe this issue may be related to a broader defect affecting Honda CR‑V vehicles equipped with the 1.5L turbo engine. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter due to the severe safety implications and the pattern of unresolved warnings over an extended period.Read more

THIS IS MY 3RD COMPLAINT (Ref: Previous Reports). THE VEHICLE IS NOW A TOTAL LOSS. 1. This matches GM TSB MC-10181662-9999, proving a known design defect in the electrical system/BCM. 3. RECALL DISCREPANCY: In addition to these engine/steering failures, a mandatory federal recall for the Rear Suspension Toe Link (20V764), which I was notified of in 2020, has 'vanished' from the system without being performed. 4. DENIAL OF SERVICE: The dealer is demanding a $1,900 diagnostic fee to even look at these documented, life-threatening safety defects, including the free federal recall. This is a violation of the Maryland Implied Warranty of Merchantability. On January 6, 2026, the check engine light illuminated, followed by a total instrument cluster blackout and electrical failure. My 2025 Honda Odyssey has had trouble turning on since it has been about 9 months old. It doesn't always turn on from being off. It doesn't always turn on when the vehicle is already on and the auto-start-stop system turns the engine off. More often than not it struggles to start but eventually does. I took it in for service and the dealership replaced the battery. It continued to not start. T
... he new battery did not improve the symptoms. I scheduled another appointment for service and the dealership kept lying and gaslighting me into believing that they did something to improve the symptoms. They claimed to have updated the computer system software/firmware versions. I asked which ones were updated and they said that none were, it was all up to date. They claimed to have "reset" the auto-start-stop system. I asked how that would improve performance when the vehicle doesn't start from being off as well. The vehicle is unsafe to drive. It turns off at stop lights, stop signs, in medians when I am trying to make turns. The engine not restarting in parking lots from a complete stop is also very concerning. I hate and fear my Honda and I am scared to drive it. I have taken it to multiple dealerships to get it fixed and none will do anything. I have a video recorded after this occurred at a red light. The video shows the status of the vehicle and attempts to restart it. This was recorded February 19th 2026.Read more

When I am stopped at a light or stop sign and go to pull into an intersection, halfway into the intersection the vehicle stalls and does not want to move. It has caused me to almost get into several car accidents and thankfully other vehicles have been able to brake before hitting me. Safety Hazard: Oil Pump Failure Leading to Sudden Engine Stall (BMW G05 X5) Description of Defect: The oil pump module in the 2020 BMW X5 (G05) contains internal plastic components that are prone to thermal degradation and premature failure. These plastic parts can crack or disintegrate, causing a sudden loss of oil pressure. Safety Risk: A failure of the oil pump leads to insufficient lubricati
... on of critical engine components, which can result in a sudden and complete engine seizure while the vehicle is in motion. This causes an immediate loss of propulsion and power steering assist, significantly increasing the risk of a high-speed collision or being stranded in dangerous traffic conditions. Additional Note: This is a known mechanical defect where a critical engine component (oil pump) relies on non-durable plastic materials, creating an unreasonable safety risk for drivers and passengers due to potential catastrophic engine failure without prior warning.Read more

I am filing this complaint regarding an unresolved safety recall (Recall 78C) on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, which has now been open for approximately 139 days without a remedy. This recall involves engine manufacturing contamination that may lead to catastrophic engine failure, loss of propulsion, and potential fire risk. Despite the seriousness of the recall, Stellantis has failed to provid
... e a remedy and has given conflicting and unclear guidance regarding safe operation. At one point, I was instructed to operate the vehicle using the gasoline engine only. I was later told Stellantis cannot provide technical guidance and to contact the dealership. The dealership has stated they have no clear direction from Stellantis. As a result, I have no clear understanding of whether it is safe to operate the vehicle, use electric mode, or rely solely on the gasoline engine. Restricting use to the gasoline engine also prevents use of the plug-in hybrid system, meaning the vehicle cannot be used for its intended purpose, resulting in increased fuel costs over several months. I have also incurred out-of-pocket rental car expenses during recall service. Stellantis indicated reimbursement would be available but has not provided a process or responded to follow-ups. Given the nature of the recall and lack of guidance, I cannot determine if this vehicle is safe to transport my newborn child. At this point, I am concerned with both the unresolved defect and the manufacturer’s failure to provide consistent safety direction, communication, or a path toward resolution.Read more

The vehicle suddenly stopped and died while driving. The mechanic confirms that the engine is gone, contact Hyundai. Ourisman of Rockville and Hyundai Motor America (HMA) refuses to replace the engine for free. The vehicle has now developed a severe engine knock consistent with the well-documented defect affecting Hyundai’s Theta II engines. Hyundai has publicly acknowledged this issue and i
... ssued a major recall covering approximately 470,000 vehicles with the following specifications: • Model Years: 2011–2012 • Engines: 2.0L and 2.4L • Manufacturing Period: December 11, 2009 – April 12, 2012 Hyundai and federal regulators identified the safety concern as manufacturing debris that could restrict oil flow to rod bearings. This defect can lead to engine knocking and eventual engine failure. Critically, Hyundai has acknowledged that engine failure may stall the vehicle while driving, significantly increasing the risk of a crash. Hyundai’s official remedy for this defect required dealerships to: • Inspect engines for bearing noise • Replace the engine if necessary • Honor Hyundai’s extended engine warranty of 10 years / 120,000 miles for affected vehicles. This issue has also been the subject of significant litigation, including the class action lawsuit Case No. [XXX], filed January 23, 2018, against Hyundai Motor America (HMA), Kia Motors America, Inc. (KMA), Hyundai Motor Company (HMC), and Kia Motors Corporation (KMC). Despite these well-known issues, Ourisman of Rockville failed to disclose any of the following when selling my daughter's this vehicle: 1. The widespread engine defects associated with the 2011 Hyundai Sonata. 2. The recall and safety concerns related to debris restricting oil flow to rod bearings. 3. The extended Hyundai engine warranty covering affected vehicles up to 120,000 miles. This omission is particularly concerning because this defect presents a serious safety hazard and a clear and present danger. My engine completely died, and a complete loss of propulsion happened. My safety was put at risk due to no power while on busy highway. This problem with L87 engines (6.2) has been reported extensively. The vehicle was inspected for GM Program # N252494000, NHTSA 25V74 for above issues and was inspected on 2025-08-28. ... indicated engine was covered under original powertrain warranty and GM would send a remanufactured engine. Dealer has still not received the engine as of Monday (2/23), which is almost a month later. While driving on a US highway in a rural area, my engine suddenly died while driving approximately 60mph. The restart engine light came on, and I quickly was unsure what was happening as I felt myself slowing down slightly after realizing I had no power and the engine would not restart. I believe it went to neutral automatically. I was in the inside lane, and it was incredibly dangerous due to traffic around me. I could not easily exit to side of road due to the traffic, but luckily a gap formed, and I was able to abruptly get off the road. I have kids in the car daily, and this would have been life threatening had it happen in any other scenario, or especially in a larger city or busier highway. I am confident this is related to GM's issues with the 6.2 liter engines. I have a 2023 Silverado 1500 ZR2 that this happened to. The loss of propulsion is clearly due to the defect in these engines.Read more
