My 2024 Subaru Outback has twice become inoperable while stopped at a traffic signal. In both incidents, the engine was off while stopped, but the vehicle remained powered on and would not restart. The vehicle also would not properly power down. The car could not be safely driven or moved and required towing both times. This created a serious safety hazard because the vehicle became disabled in
... active traffic and could not be restarted or properly shut down. After the first incident (on [XXX]), the Subaru dealership replaced the battery. Approximately 4 weeks ([XXX]) later, the exact same failure occurred again. The dealership has now had the vehicle for approximately three weeks and states they cannot replicate the issue. No cause has been identified and no repair has been made. During one of these incidents, my [XXX] child was in the vehicle while we were stranded in traffic. I am writing to formally file a safety complaint regarding a catastrophic engine failure in my 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe equipped with a 6.2L engine. The vehicle had approximately 9,640 miles at the time of failure. On March 21, 2026, while driving on a highway, the engine failed suddenly and without warning, creating an unsafe and potentially dangerous situation. The vehicle lost power and had to be
... towed from the highway to Colussy Chevrolet for inspection and repair. On March 22, 2026, the dealership confirmed that the engine required full replacement and stated that a new engine had been ordered, with an expected arrival date of March 30. I specifically requested that a new engine be installed, given the extremely low mileage and severity of the failure. Approximately one week later, I followed up and was told the engine was still scheduled to arrive on March 30. However, on March 30, I was informed that the order status had changed to “under evaluation,” and the Service Manager indicated that the replacement engine would likely be a remanufactured unit instead of a new one. On April 1, 2026, I contacted General Motors Customer Support to escalate the issue and reiterated my request for a new engine, as well as requested a loaner vehicle due to the loss of use of my vehicle. A representative opened Case #92297395 and advised that the issue had been referred to the Parts Delay Department, with a promised follow-up within 24 hours. On April 2, 2026, the dealership informed me there was no change in status and that while they intended to provide a loaner vehicle, none were available. As of April 6, 2026, I have not received a loaner vehicle or any follow-up regarding availability. On April 6, 2026, I received a call from a General Motors Customer Assistance representative stating that there are ongoing delays related to both the engine and radiator, with no estimated timeline for repair completion.Read more

On March 3, 2026 my son was driving our 2020 Acura MDX when we lost power in the middle of an intersection. The following day we had it towed to Montanto Acura in [XXX] where we were told we had a blown engine due to a bad crank shaft and possibly engine bearings. Prior to this the car drove fine with no warning signs. My son who was [XXX] old was at a dangerous intersection and had to wait for

Now fearing for our son's safety we decided to sell the car at a loss and buy him something we can reply on and that won't put him in danger. Although Acura has recalled many engines, our VIN did not come up in that recall, however we have now been affected by the same issue many others had the recall performed on. My car was parked at home and hadnt been driven in hours. My neighbor contacted me, saying that my car was on fire. I went outside, and it was on fire, and the fire department was called. After BMW conducted an investigation, they deemed the car fire to be related to the active recall. The manufacturer (BMW) is violating the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act (49 U.S Code Section 3012
... 0) by refusing a "remedy without charge" for recall 24V-536. A manufacturer is required to provide a remedy for a safety recall "without charge." BMW is offering a loan payoff (21,851.37). This current offer violated this federal statute by forcing me to absorb the loss of my $2500 down payment and accumulated equity. Additionally, Case Management is threatening to revoke my essential transportation (loaner) unless I sign a settlement that omits a verbally promised $4,000 credit buy with non-complaint conditions: it is a restricted discount only valid for future BMW purchases, it was omitted from the legal contract that I am being pressured to sign, and it places burden on me, the victim, to find a replacement vehivle while threaten to revoke my loaner transportation. This is a clear attempt to bypass the federal requirement for a free and complete remedy for a dangerous safety defect. I have attached a picture of the fires along with the fire department report, and the email thread between Case Management of BMW and me. On March 25, 2026, I was offered a loyalty goodwill of $4,000 after the purchase of a BMW from their dealership. March 26, 2026, I was told to contact my loan finance company to inquire about a collateral substitution. After I emailed the CEO and VP of BMW executives, I was then asked about what car I was interested in as a substitute for collateral. March 31, 2026, I am told to coordinate with the dealership as well because the BMW corporation doesn't coordinate with the dealership about the substitution of collateral.Read more

We were near a chevrolet dealer so I pulled in the service bay, where the technician swiftly told me to cut off the engine, that my crankshaft was broken and it lead to catastrophic engine failure. The vehicle is available for inspection at the same Chevrolet dealer we visited one month ago. The most recent oil change had been performed less than 1,000 miles prior to the failure, indicating the issue was not caused by lack of maintenance. While driving at highway speed, the engine suffered a sudden connecting rod bearing failure (Cylinder 3) with no prior warning lamps, messages, or symptoms. The driver, a [XXX] [XXX] , was able to safely guide the vehicle to a stop without injury.
... The dealership inspected the engine and confirmed a complete Cylinder 3 connecting rod bearing failure. The technician contacted Hyundai Techline, who confirmed the diagnosis and recommended engine replacement. The estimated repair cost is $6,500. The failed engine is available for inspection at the dealership. This vehicle is a 2019 Tucson with the Nu 2.0L GDI engine, which is covered under the E2 Class Action Settlement for connecting rod bearing defects. Hyundai Service Campaign 966 provides a KSDS software update designed to detect abnormal bearing noise before catastrophic failure occurs. This update was never performed on the vehicle. The 2019 Tucson was not added to Campaign 966 until April 2022, after the vehicle had already been purchased used. The owner was never effectively notified of the campaign and the vehicle was never at a Hyundai dealership where the update could have been performed. Hyundai denied warranty coverage solely because Campaign 966 was not completed, despite confirming the failure is the exact defect type the campaign and settlement were designed to address. The vehicle had only 49,437 miles at the time of failure. The engine failed without any prior warning — the exact scenario Campaign 966 was designed to prevent. Our 2018 Honda Odyssey repeatedly and without warning completely loses acceleration power, creating extremely dangerous driving conditions. This occurs in two distinct situations:(1)while driving at highway speeds when attempting to change lanes or accelerate, and(2)when stopped at a stop sign or intersection and pressing the gas to merge into or turn into traffic. In both situations, pressing the
... accelerator results in little to no response — the vehicle will roll but fails to accelerate as needed. These failures have placed our family in multiple life-threatening situations. On Interstate 285 in Atlanta, Georgia — one of the busiest and highest-speed highways in the country — our vehicle has failed to accelerate during lane changes on multiple occasions, nearly causing serious accidents. Most recently, within the past week, my husband was driving on I-285 when he pressed the accelerator and the vehicle had absolutely zero acceleration response. He narrowly avoided a collision. We have also experienced complete loss of acceleration when turning from a stop sign into traffic and when merging — situations where immediate acceleration is critical to safety. The vehicle lags for several seconds before any power is delivered to the wheels, leaving us dangerously exposed in oncoming traffic. All manufacturer recalls have been completed, including the fuel pump recall. The problem persists and has not been resolved by any dealer service or recall repair performed to date. We are aware that this is a known, widespread defect affecting 2018 Honda Odysseys equipped with the ZF 9-speed automatic transmission. Hundreds of other owners have reported identical symptoms to NHTSA and to Honda directly. Honda has acknowledged the transmission's behavior to some owners but has stated it is "how the car is supposed to drive" — a response that is wholly unacceptable given the documented near-accidents this defect is causing. We are requesting that NHTSA open or expand its investigationRead more

NHTSA Complaint Draft I am filing a follow-up complaint regarding Recall 78C on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. It has now been approximately 5 months since the recall was issued, and there is still no remedy available. I have completed all other recalls that had remedies and have fully complied with
... all manufacturer instructions. Due to the safety concerns and lack of a remedy, I was instructed by Stellantis to obtain a rental vehicle when a loaner was not provided. I incurred out-of-pocket rental expenses based on this guidance. However, despite multiple follow-up emails, Stellantis has failed to provide any reimbursement process, timeline, or response regarding these expenses. Additionally, I have received conflicting and unclear guidance regarding safe operation of the vehicle, including whether it can be driven or charged. This has significantly impacted my ability to safely use the vehicle for its intended purpose. At this point, I have made multiple documented attempts to resolve this directly with Stellantis and have received no response. This situation reflects a lack of remedy, lack of communication, and failure to reimburse expenses incurred under manufacturer direction. Immediate action and oversight are needed.Read more

... didnt pay enough to fix the issues. GM knew about the oil consumption issues and lifter failures with these vehicles since 2007 and didnt do anything. To this day, there are still issues including on new vehicles.Read more

I was driving my vehicle on the highway doing normal highway speed, when I began to hear an odd noise coming from the engine area. I slowed down and moved into the slow lane at which time the noise became worse. The vehicle then lost power and I wasn’t able to get the vehicle to do over 40mph. I was able to exit the highway and limp my vehicle home. I had the vehicle towed to a GMC dealership th

My brand new 2024 Kia K5 has been at Kia of temple hills since February 23, 2026. The dealership has stated they do not know how to diagnose or repair the issue and indicated they needed a special diagnostic tool from the manufacturer. The vehicle has now been out of service for an extended period with no repair timeline provided and no communication from them at all. I also have not been provided

Recently our 2021 Kia Telluride, had a fluttering/metal knocking/mechanical sound and I scheduled a shop visit at our trusted local mechanic. After their inspection, they found that the oil was extremely low and there was metal shavings in the oil filter housing. This was found when absolutely no warning lights were activated that would indicate low oil level or any other engine challenges. The ve
... hicle is maintained with regular oil changes. The vehicle only has 65k miles. Looking further into this online, it seems very similar to the Theta engine recall from Kia. No warning lights/indicator lights, well maintained vehicle with regular oil changes, and to all of a sudden consume almost all the oil and have metal shavings in the oil filter housing is extremely concerning. As of 4/6/2026 the dealer is assessing the vehicle and coming up with a plan and or further actions to be done.Read more

I brought my 2019 Honda Accord to dealer for safety recall for something with the fuel system. Nothing has happened yet. However, after only 308 miles… my 2026 Denali is knocking and ticking very loud. Why? How is this possible? We’ve only had it 2 weeks! I have only driven it 5-6 times in the past 14-15 days, too worried that this might happen. But I was reassured by the dealership it wouldn’t. But here I am now. I am so disappointed. My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is subject to Recall 78C (NHTSA #25V-766) regarding sand contamination in the engine. The manufacturer officially warns that this defect can cause 'catastrophic engine failure' resulting in a 'vehicle fire' or an 'unrecoverable loss of propulsion'. As of April 2026, the manufacturer has no available fix for this safety hazard. Simultaneously, the vehicle suffers from per
... sistent electrical failures. Despite a repair attempt on March 3, 2026, where the 12V battery was replaced under warranty, the vehicle continues to display 'Aux Switches Temporarily Unavailable' errors accompanied by constant audible chiming while driving. These combined defects create an extreme and unreasonable safety risk. Because the manufacturer has admitted the engine is a fire hazard but cannot provide a repair, the vehicle is effectively unmarketable and unsafe for operation. I am currently grounded and utilizing a rental vehicle as I do not feel safe operating this Jeep.Read more

While driving at low speeds twice now my ram 1500 has stalled and engaged the parking break. Once coming to a stop and another time making a turn onto a road. Once I turn the truck back on there is a battery light on the dash and I’m allowed to drive to a safe place and restart the truck and the battery light goes away. Very concerned for my safety due to living next to a busy road.
