Consuming fuel to the amount of roughly 1/2 quart per 150 miles. Vehicle has been inspected by mechanic and the oil pan, oil filter, and PCV valve has been replaced and engine oil UV dye added and cycled with no leaks found. The risk is that if not rigorously checked often, the engine will malfunction because the car runs out of oil. I have had my mechanic checking this car since I purchased i
... t in January 2026. We have had to replace the oil pan and do two full oil changes with three separate quarts of oil being added in between all of that to keep it topped up. My mechanic agrees that the engine is consuming oil at an extremely high rate. My mechanic and a mechanic at the dealership where I purchased it are the only one who has inspected the car for this issue so far. The mechanic at the dealership is who recommended we replace the oil pan to see if that fixed the leak, which my personal mechanic did. Yes the critical engine failure lamp illuminates on the dashboard when the oil ran out the first time while I was driving it. This was how I discovered that there was an oil leak. This specific incident occurred three weeks after I purchased the car which I bought in mid-January of 2026.Read more

I purchased a used 2021 Cadillac Escalade in May 2025 with approximately 48,000 miles. While driving on Highway 14 near Acton CA at speeds exceeding 60 mph, the vehicle experienced a catastrophic engine failure (March 28th - 2026). The engine suddenly lost all power and shut off completely while in motion. Only electrical systems remained operational. At the time of the incident, I had my three
... children in the vehicle. This created a dangerous situation, as I was forced to maneuver across traffic and safely pull over without engine power. The vehicle could not be restarted and had to be towed to the dealership. The dealership replaced the engine with a refurbished unit April 14th - 2026. I was not informed in advance that the replacement engine would be refurbished rather than new. Immediately following the engine replacement, the vehicle began experiencing additional issues, including electrical malfunctions and air suspension problems, which required further repairs. After retrieving the vehicle, it is still not operating as expected. The vehicle is noticeably slow, sluggish, and noisy, raising concerns about reliability and the potential for another failure. Given the sudden loss of engine power at highway speed and the continued performance issues after repair, I have serious concerns about the safety of this vehicle.Read more

Bought my 2021 kia telluride sx with a cpo warranty with a little over 69,000 miles. at about 73,000 my car began to smoke and the dealership that I bought the vehicle from kept it for the day and sent me on my way with no diagnosis just simply stating they couldnt duplicate the issue and confirming they did NO testing on the vehicle. They stated that they topped the coolant and checked the oil in

I topped the oil and immediately took the car to a different dealership where we began doing 1,000 mile testing on oil consumption and losing 1.5 quarts -- CPO warranty will NOT cover the issue because they stated it is A KIA WIDE ISSUE AND RECALL and even though I dont have specific recall they still refuse to cover. My car has been deemed as needing a motor replacement at 78,000 miles. I was traveling at highway speeds when the engine suffered a sudden and catastrophic mechanical failure without any prior warning lights or symptoms. The engine began knocking violently, locked up and put the truck into a brief skid before freeing up, followed by an immediate loss of oil pressure and a total loss of motive power. This sudden shutdown caused a brief loss of vehicle control as the po
... wer steering assist was compromised, creating a hectic and dangerous situation while I was surrounded by high-speed traffic. I was forced to navigate across multiple lanes to reach the shoulder. Crucially, this vehicle had the L87 Safety Recall (NHTSA Recall 25V-274 / GM Program N252494000) performed on July 8, 2025. The "remedy" provided by the manufacturer—which involved an oil viscosity change and a new oil cap—failed to prevent the catastrophic bearing/crankshaft failure it was intended to address. This represents a failed recall remedy that resulted in a life-threatening safety event. The vehicle is currently at a dealership awaiting a complete engine replacement.Read more

This is a widely known problem reported on many Honda Owner websites and Honda Service acknowledged it was an issue but is not a “Recall” despite the potential Safety Risk on the Road when car goes in to Protect / Shutdown Mode. The nature of this issue occurring on a well maintained car with 147k miles that is 8 years old and not being a Recall and a Safety related item is being reported by me as me and my family could have been impacted by a rear end collision as car shut down / protect mode. This could and likely has occurred to other owners and possibly attributed to accidents and Safety of passengers. Honda wants over $11k to repair the car which includes Fuel Injectors / Plugs / Coils / New Head as they reflect old head can’t be used even if machined / Head Gasket. This issue is a Safety related issue and should be a Honda Recall as the Head Bolts are a known design issue causing premature failure of the Head Gasket. Submitting this to document my incident, protect the public driving this model and year and hopefully providing information to warrant a recall so that all repairs will be performed under Recall Warranty. ... hin approximately one week of this recall service, my engine suffered a catastrophic failure while driving, resulting in a hole in the engine block and total engine failure. This created a serious safety risk due to sudden loss of power and fire hazard. I then had the vehicle inspected by a second Kia dealership. They informed me that the engine failure was consistent with the defect described in recall 25V099 (piston oil ring failure) and that the prior recall repair did not correct the underlying issue. This indicates that the recall remedy performed on my vehicle was incomplete or ineffective, and that the vehicle was returned to me in an unsafe condition. In December of 2025 at approximately 95,000 my 2021 Kia Telluride (VIN [XXX] ) showed the oil level was about two quarts low. My car has had regular maintenance including oil changes at Santa Fe Kia. At the next oil change appointment in March, I pointed out the oil consumption concern. At that point Kia recommended an oil consumption test be performed. The car had 96,700 miles at that point. A
... t 97,700 Kia indicated that the oil level was fine. At 99,600 I checked the oil and discovered it was more than two quarts low. I called Santa Fe Kia to address the issue and they indicated that a quart every 1,000 miles is within Kia standards and recommended another oil consumption test which would take me over the 100,000 warranty. I called Kia customer care to address the issue. A case was opened, but they kept referring me back to the dealership to be dealt with. After researching the issue myself, I presented the well known and documented oil consumption issue amongst Kia consumers to include PCV valve and piston ring issues. I have an appointment scheduled for 4/16/26, but I am being told that I will be liable for the cost of the PCV valve replacement, compression test and oil leak test which are all known issues related to the problem. Santa Fe Kia's service manager is ignoring my request to submit an engine warranty claim citing that they didn't find a problem outside of Kia's acceptable oil consumption and Kia's customer care refuses to open a claim and keeps referring me back to the dealership. I am reporting a serious safety concern with my 2016 Infiniti QX60 involving a defective cooling fan system. The vehicle currently experiences a ticking/tapping noise from the cooling fan, and the fan does not operate properly, which has caused the engine to overheat. This condition creates a significant safety hazard, as engine overheating can lead to sudden engine failure while driving, increasi
... ng the risk of an accident. The issue also makes it unsafe to use essential features such as the air conditioner in hot weather and the defroster in cold conditions, which impacts visibility and driver safety. This defect appears to be part of a known issue affecting this vehicle platform, where the cooling fan system fails prematurely. I understand there have been allegations, including in Anderson v. Nissan North America, that the manufacturer may have been aware of this defect but did not adequately disclose it. In addition, I am aware that this vehicle model has been associated with other safety-related recalls, including issues involving the ABS actuator (which may pose a fire risk) and the hybrid powertrain control system (if applicable). These existing concerns further highlight the urgency of addressing this defect. This is not normal wear and tear, but a potential safety-related defect that places drivers, passengers, and others on the road at risk. I am concerned about continuing to operate this vehicle and potentially causing an accident or injury due to overheating or loss of vehicle function. I am requesting that this issue be formally investigated to determine whether a recall or corrective action is necessary to prevent harm.Read more

I'm reporting a safety issue with BMW vehicles equipped with the B58TU engine, primarily 2019-2021 models. These vehicles have an oil pump with an internal plastic component that regulates oil pressure, and this part is fracturing in the field, causing sudden loss of oil pressure. The failure typically occurs during cold starts in low temperatures. When it fails, oil pressure becomes erratic or is
... lost entirely, often with little to no warning before engine damage or vehicle disablement. Warning signs, when present, include inability to measure oil level electronically, abnormal oil pressure, or sudden drivetrain malfunction warnings. These can rapidly progress to engine shutdown or severe damage from oil starvation. This creates a dangerous situation because the vehicle can become disabled without warning while driving or after startup. This is especially hazardous when cars become immobilized in traffic or during winter conditions when failures occur most frequently, leaving occupants exposed to freezing temperatures while awaiting assistance. Pump replacement requires extensive disassembly and commonly costs $6,000-$8,000, assuming no engine damage. A critical concern: owners cannot determine if their vehicle has the original plastic pump or the later metal revision. BMW's VIN-based parts lookup now shows updated components even when original plastic parts remain installed, and BMW has removed the original plastic part number from dealer networks entirely. Failures are reported across multiple production years, and the scope of affected vehicles remains unclear. Because this condition causes sudden vehicle disablement without adequate warning, especially in cold weather, I believe this warrants investigation as a potential safety-related defect.Read more

I am a former Transmission Calibration Engineer at Stellantis, so I know what I'm talking about. I experienced an engine stall event while coasting down in speed. I was in town, driving about 30 mph, and coasting (0% pedal). I lightly applied the brakes and while the vehicle was still in motion (coasting) the engine stalled. The information cluster displayed a message that said "put the vehicl
... e in park and restart the engine." I coasted around a corner, came to a stop, put the transmission in Park, and restarted the engine. No MIL or codes were set. I have a scan tool and confirmed later that no codes were set. I'm fairly certain the engine was in DFSO (decel fuel shutoff) when the issue occurred as the conditions were all correct for DFSO (engine was in normal operating temperature range, gear was 5th or 6th when coasting was initiated, and pedal was 0% for several seconds before the issue occurred). Loss of propulsion is an obvious safety concern as I lost control of the vehicle.Read more

Purchased 2020 jaguar XE with under 13,000 miles on it 2 years ago now has 23,000 miles on it. Went to leave for work and my car wouldn’t start stating the transmission wasn’t in park and other messages and tried jumping it wouldn’t work. Wouldnt switch gears to put car in neutral and neutral release under hood wouldn’t fully work. because parking break was stuck on. Took 3 tow trucks to g
... et it out. Finally got it to dealership where they stated it’s a Corroded battery line could not state how it got damaged besides “salt” & “moisture” has gotten inside and these things just happen. This does not sound like normal wear and tear for a 6 year old car with that low of miles. Especially when taken care of. Can not pinpoint exactly how moisture got inside or where in the line. States the battery line brings the power from the back of the car where the battery is to the front and the voltage isn’t getting through to start the vehicle. What if you were driving and then suddenly it gave out due to this? This sounds like a safety issue and jaguar doesn’t want to be reliable for it. I had no indication anything was wrong with it just one day it worked and then the next day it didn’t.Read more

I leased a 2026 Electric GV70 from Genesis in June 2025. In January of 2026, when driving the car I got a warning sign to stop the vehicle and check the battery supply. At that point, the car went into sever power reduction and would only go 20 MPH or so. After 20-30 minutes, the car completely shut down and became inoperable. Luckily, I was near home and was able to get my car home. I had to have
... the vehicle towed on wheels as it was completely frozen to the dealership. They diagnosed it as a failure of the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU). They replaced the ICCU but identified other issues that to this day are unresolved and my car is still in the shop. These cars were subject to a recall for ICCU failure but only to model year 2025. These ICCUs are continuing to fail on the 2026 models, and at an alarming rate. The head of service at the dealership told me they were dealing with "hundreds" of ICCU failures on Hyundai/Genesis vehicles. If I had been on a highway traveling at higher speeds and the car suddenly lost almost all power and would only drive for another few miles before completely shutting down, it would have created a dangerous situation. These cars need to be recalled - again. Hyundai/Genesis clearly dont know how to make electric cars/battery packs that work and should be held accountable. I believe they are downplaying this situation due to the prior recalls/class action lawsuits and dont want to experience further reputational damage.Read more

I was exiting a main highway and when I let off the accelerator the engine died unexpectedly with no prior signs of failure and would not turn over to restart, luckily I was able to coast onto a side street out of the way of moderate traffic. I am the original owner and have always maintained the vehicle to GM standards. I feel that the recall is not solving this problem, because the engines are failing anyway. At this time my vehicle has been at the dealership service department for three and a half weeks, and is waiting on the replacement engine. The dealership has provided a loaner vehicle.Read more
