My 2024 Honda Odyssey EX-L has a recurring Auto Idle Stop failure. About 1–2 times per week, when stopped at a light and Auto Idle Stop engages, the engine fails to restart properly when I release the brake. The engine sputters or shuts down, the battery warning light comes on, and the vehicle shifts itself into Park. I then have to hold the start button for several seconds to restart the engine
... . This creates a safety risk because the vehicle becomes disabled in active traffic when the light turns green. The vehicle was previously taken to a Honda dealer for this issue, and the battery was replaced, but the problem continues.Read more

Driving under normal conditions April 20,2026, on the way to school. Got off the freeway and the vehicle immediately shut-off and the check engine light came on. Vehicle was stuck partially in the roadway and would not move. Vehicle was towed to Kia dealership and they found that there was no oil in the engine and that the oil drain plug was completely missing. This problem caused catastrophic
... engine failure resulting in the need for a full engine replacement. A routine oil change had been conducted approx. 2,000 miles prior to this on January 12, 2026. The vehicle had been driven daily since that oil change with no noticeable oil leak or problems preceding this event. Had this event occurred at freeway speeds, it could have caused serious injury to the driver and other motorists on the roadway at that time. It appears that the drain plug fell out since there was no other additional or noticeable damage to the oil pan or surrounding the drain plug itself. This information was confirmed by a photograph taken by the dealership conducting the repairs.Read more

I purchased the vehicle with approximately 56,000 miles. Within 2–3 weeks after purchase a “traction battery fault” warning appeared. I took it to a dealership, which said it was a battery module fault. They replaced defective battery cell under warranty (repair value ~$7,000–8,000). During the same initial period and continuing after the battery repair, the vehicle exhibited intermittent
... AC charging failures. It would begin Level 2 charging sessions and then terminate them prematurely. This includes both the Level 2 charger I installed new at my home upon purchasing the car, and commercial Level 2 chargers. The home charger would repeatedly show a fault that the vehicle was ending the sessions. Over the following months, the condition progressively worsened from intermittent to near-total loss of AC charging capability. The vehicle can still DC fast charge. Dealer diagnosed the failure as a defective BCCM requiring replacement at a cost of approximately $6,700. This is a known and documented issue: Jaguar has issued TSB SSM75883 (NHTSA Document MC-10227452-0001) addressing I-PACE vehicles unable to charge with BCCM fault code U3000-49, and TSB SFCC Jul20_11 (NHTSA Document MC-10178140-0001) for the 2020 I-PACE specifically. The vehicle cannot be charged at home or at any AC charging station, rendering it effectively inoperable for normal daily use.Read more

Component: Engine / Engine and Engine Cooling Description: My 2020 Hyundai Palisade (approximately 155,856 miles) experienced a serious and dangerous engine-related failure that resulted in a vehicle fire. For approximately 8 months prior to the incident, the vehicle was consuming oil at an abnormal rate with no visible external leaks. This condition persisted without clear cause. While my [XX
... X] daughter was driving, the vehicle suddenly developed a new oil leak, and the engine failed without warning, leaving my daughter stranded on the roadway. Immediately following the failure, the engine compartment caught fire. There were no prior indications of an active oil leak before this sudden failure. The progression from oil consumption to catastrophic failure and fire presents a serious safety concern. This incident created a dangerous situation with risk of injury or worse, and it appears to be more than normal wear and tear. I am reporting this as a potential safety defect involving engine failure and fire risk. On April 3,2026 we are starting back from a road trip to Florida from Kentucky (starting odometer 69,199 miles)oil changed prior to leaving in our 2022 Honda pilot. Stopped to get gas and transmission alert code popped up-it would not go into any type of gear. We had no warning previously to this. We were still 3 hours from home, had to get it towed to nearest Honda dealership where they stated
... it was an electronic module failure but transmission would have to be replaced entirely. Car was out of standard power-train warranty of 60,000 miles d/t this road trip (odometer now over 70K) and we had no extended warranty on the vehicle. We requested assistance for transmission replacement from American Honda. We filled out the required form on 4/9/26 explaining we are a loyal Honda customer(own an additional Honda-CRV), had good service records, etc. It was assigned to a case manager on Fri 4/10-they called left voicemail that it was under review and asked us to call back. We immediately called back on Friday 4/10 and left message-no call back. The following week we called back everyday to American Honda and finally got our case manager over a week later on Monday 4/20-said it would be 5 more days. Heard back today 4/24/26 that Honda denied our assistance request saying it was out of warranty and there are no known manufactorer defects or recalls at this current time. Made us wait 3 weeks to decide we will have to eat cost of a new transmission in a car that is less than 4 years old and <100K miles on it. Very disappointing in Honda corporation especially since there are numerous known complaints, civil law suits, etc on various online forums and in the national news of same issues and they aren't taking any responsibility leaving owners with very high repair expenses. Our transmission will be over $8000 to replace out of pocket.Read more

I am filing a formal safety complaint regarding my hybrid Jeep vehicle due to ongoing and unresolved safety issues that present a significant risk to myself and others. Since the beginning of ownership, I have experienced repeated and escalating problems with the vehicle, including: * Hybrid system malfunction warnings and persistent red wrench indicator * Aggressive and unsafe gear shifting whi
... le driving * Vehicle stalling unexpectedly * Vehicle intermittently failing to turn on or shut off properly In addition to these critical concerns, my vehicle has been under Recall 68C since October 2025. To date, there has been no available remedy provided. I have been explicitly instructed not to park the vehicle in a garage or near structures and to avoid charging the vehicle due to an increased risk of fire. This situation has created significant hardship and safety concerns. I am unable to safely use or store my vehicle as intended. I have also been informed that potential fire damage related to this issue may not be covered by homeowners insurance, further increasing the risk and liability I am being forced to assume. Despite repeated attempts to address these issues through proper channels, including dealership service visits and manufacturer communication, no resolution has been provided. This vehicle poses a clear safety hazard due to: * Risk of fire associated with the hybrid battery system * Unpredictable stalling and drivetrain behavior while in operation * Lack of manufacturer remedy for an active safety recall I am requesting immediate investigation, accountability, and corrective action to ensure the safety of consumers affected by this issueRead more

On [XXX], the check engine light illuminated. No other warning indicators activated — no low oil pressure warning, no low oil level warning, no driver alert of any kind regarding engine condition. On [XXX], at approximately 53,845 miles, the vehicle began running rough. I checked the engine oil and found the dipstick registered empty — no measurable oil in the engine. No low oil level or low
... oil pressure warning had been provided by the vehicle at any point prior to this discovery. I added two quarts of oil. The vehicle stalled while being driven to obtain the oil, and stalled again after the oil was added. I drove the vehicle to Jiffy Lube and had a full oil change performed. Mileage at the oil change was 53,852. I then scheduled an appointment with Gervais Kia in Lowell, Massachusetts, the nearest Kia dealer, less than one mile from my home. The earliest available appointment was approximately one week later. Because the vehicle stalled repeatedly at idle, I drove it to the dealer using both feet — keeping engine revs elevated with the accelerator while braking — to prevent stalling at stops. The vehicle is currently at Gervais Kia for diagnostic inspection. The symptoms match the failure mode documented in NHTSA recall campaign 25V-099 (Kia recall for 2021-2023 Soul and Seltos with 2.0L Nu MPI engines, piston oil ring manufacturing defect). My vehicle has the 2.0L Nu MPI engine and was manufactured at the Kia Autoland Hwaseong plant identified in the recall filing. However, my VIN does not appear in the current recall population per NHTSA VIN lookup and Kia’s recall lookup. The recall remedy includes installation of Piston-ring Noise Sensing System (PNSS) software specifically because the defect provides no driver warning before failure — consistent with my experience, in which the engine ran empty of oil with no warning whatsoever. This is a 2025 vehicle with 25,000 miles and the Check Engine Soon light stays illuminated due to a faulty PCV Valve or possibly a poorly designed crankcase. The engine code is P04FB and is commonly found as an issue when you do a search. As a safety precaution, the vehicle is programmed to not allow the remote start to work as designed when the engine light is on so this issue affects the overall
... functionality of the car. Having spoken with the dealership, they report seeing that engine code often and that the part is on backorder. The dealership seems to think it's the crankcase causing the issue and not the PCV Valve as the fix they have been ordering for them is the case. It will potentially go away as the weather is hotter, but if a chilly night or morning comes up, then the light will come back on because there is moisture buildup on the PCV Valve when the temperature drops that causes the light to come on. With all of the complaints I have read online for this very issue, I would like to see NHTSA step up and make Chevy fix their problem. Thank you.Read more

I had my oil changed in Dec. 2025. I drove 1000+ miles w/no issue. Engine suddenly seized w/no engine light warning. Oil dumped all at once. Kia refuses to cover under warranty. THIS HAPPENED TO MY CAR: NTSA announced it had launched an investigation into Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motor Company for problems with their oil pans and oil drain plugs... consumers have filed complaints their
... engine’s oil drain plug falls out, causing all the oil to drain out of their engine while driving. In multiple tests the oil drain plug was tightened according to factory torque specifications and the tightening was well documented. Yet, testing shows in multiple cases that while driving, the oil drain plug falls within a few thousand miles after the service. In those cases, the crankcase drained completely. The Hyundai and Kia drain plug falls out due to inferior oil pan material and the drain plug gasket. The testing and investigations appear to show that the oil drain plans are made with THIN METAL AND THE DRAIN PLUG MOUNTING IS POORLY REINFORCED. In addition, the oil pan is coated with a thick paint coating the bonds the gasket to the pan, so the gasket does not come off when the drain plug is removed. That gasket issue alone is not why the oil drain plug falls out, but it is a factor in the chain of events. The oil pan is the biggest problem Apparently, the thin metal, along with engine vibrations and expansion/contraction tend to loosen the drain plug without any other intervention. NHTSA is investigating this as a factory defect ... The problem is two-fold. First, even if the repair shop properly torques the drain plug, the oil drain plug falls out on its own. The customer then blames the shop for shoddy workmanship. Second, Hyundai and Kia dealers are telling customers that servicing their vehicle at an aftermarket shop automatically voids their factory warranty. This is totally false & actually illegal under the terms of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.Read more

... g. The engine lost all power while the vehicle was in motion, resulting in an immediate and dangerous reduction in speed. There were no prior signs of malfunction before the stall. The vehicle became unable to maintain highway speed and effectively lost propulsion while in active traffic conditions. This created a serious safety hazard, as the sudden loss of power at highway speed placed me and surrounding vehicles at risk of a collision. I had to maneuver the vehicle to safety while attempting to avoid traffic. The vehicle is brand new and should not experience a complete engine stall under normal highway driving conditions. This incident raises a significant concern regarding a potential defect in engine performance, fuel delivery, transmission control, or electronic power management systems. Because the failure occurred at highway speed without warning, it represents a critical safety risk that may affect other drivers if it is a systemic issue. Actions Taken After Incident • Vehicle was brought to dealership / service center • Case opened with manufacturer (Nissan) • The vehicle was towed and currently getting the engine replaced I am requesting that NHTSA: 1. Review this incident as a potential safety defect 2. Determine whether similar complaints exist for this model/year 3. My 2025 Ford Ranger Lariat FX4 has experienced sudden and complete loss of accelerator pedal response while driving at low speed on at least 4 to 6 separate occasions. The condition has consistently occurred while pulling into my subdivision, which has an inclined entrance. The truck also

No warning lights, check engine light, or messages in the instrument cluster illuminate during these events. No diagnostic trouble codes have been stored that I am aware of. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The symptoms closely match two active Ford recalls — 26S10 (EGR valve failure causing unexpected loss of drive power, stated by Ford to be most likely at speeds under 13 mph) and 25V-239 (PCM reset causing temporary loss of acceleration). My vehicle is not currently listed as included in either recall per Ford’s VIN lookup. Numerous owner reports on public Ford Ranger forums describe identical symptoms on 2024 and 2025 Ranger trucks, many of which are also not covered by the existing recalls and for which dealers have been unable to find stored codes. A sudden, unannounced loss of drive power at low speed on an incline or while turning into traffic represents a clear crash risk.
