Hello. We purchased this 2018 Honda CR-V new in 2018 from the local Honda dealer, Honda of Lake Jackson, TX. In the Spring of 2025 the A/C stopped working. We took it to a local shop and they had to replaced the following: Blower motor replaced, blower motor replaced, A/C evaporator replaced, A/C expansion/orifice valve replaced, Heater core replaced. This was around a $3,000 repair. A month or
... so later in May of 2025 we took the car to the Honda dealer because of steering instability issues. We were advised that the entire Steering Column would need to replaced due to known safety issues (drive shaft can fail completely at highway speeds). The following was repaired at this time: --Rack and pinion replaced, steering gear replaced, valve cover gasket replaced Vehicle was at 61,984 miles at this time. This was a $5,000+ repair. It cost so much that we actually had to take out financing to pay it, which in essence essentially renewed our car payment (car was already paid off at this time). Now for the past 8 months or so we have had a "juddering" issue where you can feel the transmission CTV system jump and jerk as you accelerate to highway speeds. This issue also puts the entire transmission at risk of failure. The Honda dealer here checked the vehicle out and suggested we do a transmission fluid swap. This cost $189 for the "diagnostic fee" and $179 for the swap. So another nearly $400. They did the swap and said that it did not fix the issue and now we need to pay $2800 to have the "Torque convertor" replaced. This is $10,000 plus dollars in repairs, nearly half to cost of the vehicle. This is a ridiculous amount of issues for a vehicle that had only 61,000 miles. We have always had regular maintenance performed also. From what I have read, Honda knows about these issues but has not issued a recall. In addition I've read that "juddering" CTV issue is a known issue in 2015-2018 Honda CR-V's. Needless to say we are not happy with Honda about any of this.Read more

... e converter causing it to fail. The engine and converter will need to be replaced." In 2017, a recall was issued by GM to mitigate Stochastic Pre-Ignition (SPI) Causing Cracked Piston (17019). Between the initial purchase of the vehicle (11/2016) and performed service required by this recall (03/10/2017), there were approximately 5000 miles driven. No engine diagnosis was performed or recommended. After the 17019 was addressed, the engine misfires continued along with reoccurring CEL. C.S.P. N182195660 Predictive Monitoring for Stochastic Pre-ignition (SPI) released in 2019 states the 1.5 L LFV engines in certain 2016 and 2017 model year Chevrolet Malibu vehicles may have a preignition condition that requires immediate repair. This condition may cause the engine to perform poorly, misfire, run rough, and/or excessively consume oil. It may also illuminate the vehicle’s service engine light. Over time, if not repaired, the condition can damage the vehicle’s pistons and engine. The VIN for this Malibu was not attached to this notice despite it having SPI recall history. On 06/2023 (after the N182195660 program ended), at 80k miles a diagnosis revealed a potential cracked cylinder with no mention of the pre-ignition condition that could cause the crack, and the only way to fix is to replace the entire engine (as per dealer recomendation). Since vehicle was out of warranty, the repair est. was nearly $10k. 2018 Kia Optima LX, 2.4L GDI Theta II engine. Approximately 128,000 miles. Reporting severe internal oil consumption that has progressed to engine misfire and shaking, consistent with late-stage Theta II connecting rod bearing failure. The vehicle is now unsafe to drive and has been parked. Timeline: Purchased as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle in December 2021. Excessive oil consumption began shor
... tly after purchase. For approximately 4.5 years I have added about 1 quart of oil every 2 weeks to keep the engine from running dry. No external leaks have ever been found by any mechanic. Multiple independent mechanics attempted diagnosis and repair over this period. None resolved the issue. The vehicle has now developed a pronounced shake and apparent engine misfire, the textbook progression to rod bearing failure documented in NHTSA investigation PE19-004 and prior recalls/campaigns 17V-224, SC147, and SC172. Safety concerns: Sudden engine seizure or stall at highway speed creates a serious crash risk for me and surrounding traffic. Theta II 2.4L GDI rod bearing failure has been associated with under-hood fires. The defect develops gradually with no warning to the driver beyond elevated oil consumption, which is frequently dismissed as normal until catastrophic failure occurs. I am filing this complaint to document the failure and to add to NHTSA's data on the Theta II GDI 2.4L engine in 2018–2019 Optimas. This model year was excluded from the original 2017 recall but is included in the Hyundai and Kia Engine Litigation class settlement and the lifetime engine warranty extension. The vehicle experienced engine failure due to coolant intrusion into the engine cylinders. The condition was confirmed by a dealership, which determined that the engine has internal damage and requires full engine replacement. There were no external coolant
... leaks observed. This failure occurred at approximately 88,000 miles and was not consistent with normal wear and tear. The issue developed without significant prior warning other than engine misfire and rough operation. This condition may create a safety risk, as engine misfire and internal damage can lead to loss of power, reduced vehicle performance, or potential engine stall while driving. Technical Service Bulletins have been issued for similar vehicles equipped with the same engine, including TSB 19-2172, TSB 19-2208, and TSB 22-2229, which describe coolant intrusion into engine cylinders and require engine replacement. Urgent: Engine Failure Following Recent Service – 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally request assistance and an investigation regarding a serious engine failure involving my 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. In July 2025, I paid out of pocket to have the lifters and camshaft replaced on this vehicle. More recently, while traveling, the vehicle broke down and was taken to Ue
... belhor Chevrolet, where the valve body in the transmission was replaced. After picking the vehicle up from Uebelhor Chevrolet, the vehicle broke down again approximately one hour later while in Henderson, Kentucky. At that time, the engine began smoking, running rough, and misfiring. I checked the oil level during the incident and found it to be extremely low on the dipstick (I have photographic evidence of this condition). The vehicle had to be towed to Kate Faupel Chevrolet for further inspection. I was then informed that the engine has a dropped lifter on cylinder #8 and possible camshaft damage. Given the following factors: Recent out-of-pocket lifter and camshaft replacement (July 2025) Immediate failure shortly after leaving a Chevrolet dealership Extremely low oil level observed at the time of breakdown (with photo documentation) Diagnosis consistent with potential oil starvation and internal engine damage I am requesting that General Motors conduct a full review of this situation to determine responsibility. This raises serious concerns about a potential defect, improper prior repair, or a service-related issue that resulted in catastrophic engine damage. At this time, I am not authorizing repairs until liability is determined. I am requesting: A formal case review and investigation Assistance with repair or full engine replacement Guidance on how this situation will be resolved This incident created a significant safety concern, as the vehicle became disabled shortly after leaving a dealership during travel. Hello, I was driving on the highway with my family and my engine had a sudden loss of power. I only have 52,000 miles on the engine and it has been serviced the entire time. They did a diagnostic test

I have since contacted GM warranty services given my car was just past the warranty date of November 2025, but still under the 60,000 miles of coverage. I did some research and have seen this is a very common with these engines as GM did a recall on 600,000 already. For some reason my VIN # is not listed on the current recall even though my engine is in the same year as the others that were. I would like GM to cover my engine 100% but was told they may only pay a % to fix it. Can you do anything to help me get them to cover the engine at 100%? On 3/14/26, on I-75 in Troy, Michigan at 70mph the vehicle, with 4000k miles on the odometer completely shut off. I pushed to restart the engine and it would not restart. My whole family was in the car and we were on a curve. I was able to coast to a flat shoulder. The vehicle would not restart or shift out of park. OnStar took seven hours to tow the vehicle. The dealer is installing a new L87
... 6.2L engine. I do not have the vehicle back yet. I received an economy car as a loaner. The dealer says GM will not extend the factory warranty despite the engine replacement. My family could have been easily killed.Read more

Beginning in approximately May 2025, the vehicle began displaying diagnostic trouble codes identified by independent auto parts retailers and service providers. These codes indicated potential issues within the engine, electrical, and powertrain systems. The vehicle was subsequently brought to a dealership for diagnostic evaluation and remained there from approximately May 15 through May 19, 2025
... . During this time, the dealership reported that no diagnostic codes were present and did not resolve the reported issue. However, the vehicle had recently exhibited repeatable symptoms, including entering “limp mode” and triggering diagnostic trouble codes, prior to being delivered to the dealership. Similar codes and issues were again identified after the dealership visit. The vehicle has experienced multiple incidents of entering “limp mode,” resulting in sudden loss of power and reduced drivability while in operation. This condition occurred without reliable warning and created unsafe driving situations, including the inability to maintain normal traffic flow. Due to safety concerns, the vehicle has not been driven under normal conditions since approximately May 2025 and has been limited to short, local movements only. The issue poses a safety risk to the driver, passengers, and surrounding traffic due to unexpected loss of power and inconsistent system diagnostics. The problem appears to be ongoing and unresolved. Independent diagnostic records and service visit documentation are available upon request.Read more

I purchased a 2020 Ford F-150 XLT with a 5.0L engine from Quirk Auto Group in Maine approximately six months prior to discovering a major engine defect. At the time of sale, I was provided documentation stating there were no known mechanical issues or prior defects with the vehicle. Shortly after purchase, I brought the vehicle back to the dealership due to a noticeable rattling noise and perform
... ance concerns. I was told the noise was caused by debris (rocks) stuck in the undercarriage, and no further action was taken. This concern was documented during that visit. Over time, the vehicle began consuming excessive amounts of oil, approximately three quarts per month which is far beyond normal operating conditions. I later brought the vehicle to a certified Ford dealership for further diagnosis. After inspection, I was informed that the engine had significant internal wear, including worn cylinder walls, and required a full engine replacement (long block), with an estimated cost of approximately $15,785. I have since learned that this engine issue is consistent with a known defect documented in Ford Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) as well as an open class actions lawsuit against ford, and records indicate this issue had been present with the previous owner. This information was not disclosed to me at the time of sale. I have made multiple attempts to resolve this issue directly with both the selling dealership and Ford Motor Company. Ford has offered partial financial assistance toward the repair, which further indicates acknowledgment of a defect. However, the dealership has not taken responsibility for selling a vehicle with a pre-existing condition that was either known or should have been known.Read more

This truck has a violent vibration throughout the CAB. It has been brought to Peterbilt in Peabody and Plainville and has been diagnosed with no issues. We are a Fuel Oil Delivery Company and are concerned that the vibrations will cause harm to the working components to the truck that may result in failure while driving the truck.

We were driving on 95S when the Yukon Denali automatically shifted itself from D to N. On the dash it had a warning message to press start again. When my husband did that we could smell a smoke smell. Meanwhile, we are in the middle lane of the highway while trying to safely get off the middle of the interstate without being rear ended by the semi that was behind us. We finally made it to the side
... of the interstate where my husband was able to put the Yukon in park. He was never able to get the vehicle back in Drive. The car would never click back over to start up again. We had to have the vehicle towed to the nearest GMC dealership where it has now been for almost 3 weeks with no timeline for a date of a new engine. I was told it needed a new engine and radiator. Said the alternator was trying to catch fire when he was trying to start the vehicle. This is the SECOND time the Yukon has been in the dealership in 4 months for this recall issue. This time it is 2hrs away from my home.Read more

The vehicle suffered a recurring mechanical failure of the fuel injectors and a flooded EVAP charcoal canister, causing the engine to run lean (Fault P2177) and lose power. This defect creates an unreasonable safety risk as it can cause the engine to stall or lose motive power unexpectedly at highway speeds. Furthermore, the fuel system defect led to a flooded EVAP system, which poses a potential
... fire hazard and fuel vapor accumulation. Volkswagen Technical Assistance confirmed the mechanical failure of all four injectors . The defect was initially misdiagnosed as 'fuel contamination,' which delayed the critical safety repair for over 25 days and resulted in a total electrical system failure (battery death) while the vehicle was inoperable.Read more

My vehicle experiences a loss of power while driving. The vehicle will unexpectedly lose acceleration and power during normal driving conditions, including when merging or driving in traffic. This creates a serious safety concern because the vehicle does not respond properly when attempting to accelerate. The issue occurs intermittently but repeatedly and makes it difficult and unsafe to drive, e
