For the past year, the vehicle's Auto Idle Stop system has intermittently failed to restart the engine after coming to a complete stop at traffic lights. This creates a dangerous situation where the vehicle is immobilized in active traffic, posing a significant risk of rear-end collisions or other accidents. I have taken the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealership for service; however, they wer

I am submitting this complaint to report a serious and ongoing safety defect involving the engine of my 2018 Hyundai Sonata Sport equipped with the 2.4L Theta II engine. The vehicle has been officially tested and documented by Hyundai as consuming more than two (2) quarts of engine oil per 1,000 miles, which Hyundai has acknowledged following completion of its oil consumption test procedure. Despi
... te this confirmation, Hyundai has declined to fully correct the defect. As the condition has progressed, the engine now fouls spark plugs every 350–500 miles, resulting in: •Engine misfires •Loss of power during operation •Rough running and hesitation •Risk of sudden engine stalls while driving This condition occurs without warning and requires repeated roadside or emergency repairs simply to keep the vehicle operable. The condition has deteriorated further, requiring replacement of fouled spark plugs every 350-500 miles. Loss of power and engine shaking can occur at any time, presenting a safety hazard for me and other drivers.Read more

I was driving on the Highway, and went to accelerate and my car went into Limp Mode in the middle of the highway and I was almost not able to get to the emergency lane due to not being able to accelerate. They said it was a fuel pump issue which they replaced and two days later my car went into Limp mode again on the highway for the exact same reason, and my car wont start again. Every Mechanic and tow truck driver I have talked to have all said the same thing with Volkswagens especially the newer ones going into Limp mode and not starting. I am reporting a recurring safety issue following the Acura rod bearing recall repair on my 2019 Acura MDX SH-AWD. The original recall resulted in catastrophic engine failure and Acura replaced the long block assembly. Since that repair, the vehicle has repeatedly failed and returned to the dealership multiple times for the same issue pattern. Symptoms include: * “Emissions System Problem”
... warning * SH-AWD, brake, and traction control warnings * strong raw gasoline odor * vehicle becoming undriveable/no-start Timeline: * Recall repair completed with long block replacement * Vehicle failed again the next day * Dealer repaired vehicle * Vehicle failed again about one month later * Dealer repaired vehicle again * Vehicle failed a third time about one week later during normal commuting The recurring failures are accompanied by a strong gasoline smell, creating concern about fire risk and vehicle safety. I regularly transport children in this vehicle and no longer have confidence in the safety or reliability of the recall repair. The dealership has continued repairing the vehicle and providing loaners, indicating the issue is related to the original recall repair, but the underlying problem has still not been resolved despite multiple repair attempts. I am submitting this report because the recall repair has not resulted in safe and reliable vehicle operation.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. and my 2023 Toyota Tundra, which is currently subject to Safety Recall 25V767 involving catastrophic engine failure risk due to crankshaft bearing contamination within the V35A engine. Toyota has acknowledged that my vehicle is included in the recall and has further acknowledged that the engine will require replacement. However, d
... espite confirming the seriousness of the defect, Toyota has refused to repurchase the vehicle and has failed to provide any timeline whatsoever regarding when the engine replacement remedy will become available. Toyota’s position has simply been that the engine will be repaired “once a remedy is available,” without any estimated repair date or meaningful resolution for affected consumers. The recall itself states that the defect may result in engine knocking, rough running, engine no-start, and/or sudden engine stall. Toyota further acknowledges in its recall documentation that engine stall while driving can lead to loss of motive power and increase the risk of a crash. This is a major safety issue, not a minor inconvenience. I live and drive in [XXX] , where highway driving and high-speed traffic are unavoidable. Due to the risk of sudden engine failure or loss of power, my family and I no longer feel safe operating the vehicle under normal driving conditions. As a result, we have drastically limited use of the truck despite continuing to make monthly loan payments, insurance payments, and registration expenses. Additionally, the truck has experienced multiple other recall and repair-related issues since purchase. Several recalls have already required service visits, and additional unresolved recalls remain pending. The ongoing pattern of defects and unresolved safety concerns has substantially diminished my confidence in the reliability, safety, and value of the vehicle. I own a 2019 Mazda CX-5 with approximately 36,000 miles. The vehicle developed a strong burning oil smell while driving, particularly through the HVAC/vent system. I initially reported the odor to a Mazda dealership, but no issue was identified. Approximately two months later, the smell returned and worsened. The vehicle was later diagnosed by a Mazda dealership with an oil leak originating from t
... he cylinder head near the exhaust manifold. According to the repair documentation, oil was accumulating on the exhaust due to seepage from the cylinder head. The repair required full cylinder head replacement. This created significant safety concerns because leaking oil was contacting hot engine/exhaust components while the vehicle was being operated. Burning fumes entered the passenger cabin through the vents while driving. I was concerned about the risk of fire, smoke inhalation, sudden oil loss, and possible engine failure while on the road. There were no warning lights prior to the failure. The primary symptom was the persistent burning smell. The dealership replaced the cylinder head. The original repair estimate was approximately $6,000. Mazda later provided partial goodwill assistance, but I was still required to pay approximately $2,500 out of pocket. After researching this issue further, I found numerous similar NHTSA complaints involving 2019 Mazda CX-5 vehicles experiencing cylinder head leaks/cracking near the exhaust manifold, burning smells, smoke or fumes entering the cabin, and major engine repairs at relatively low mileage. Mazda has acknowledged similar cylinder head concerns in CSP11 and TSB 01-002/23 for certain VIN ranges but denied coverage for my vehicle because the leak involved oil rather than coolant and because my VIN was outside the covered range. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether this represents a broader cylinder head defect affecting additional 2019 Mazda CX-5 vehicles outside the currently covered VIN range.Read more

I am also aware that the NHTSA has initiated further investigation into failures occurring even after the recall remedy has been performed.Read more

Yesterday evening we were driving and the orange check engine light came on. Followed by a red battery light, the red turtle and an exclamation point with a car and a speedometer symbol. Once the tow truck arrived he tried to drive it up on the flat bed but it had no power to make it up the ramp and had to be pulled with the tow cable up the ramp. Another thing I have noticed as of the last 68c update is that when in electric mode and merging onto a freeway for example, it gets really sluggish at about 65mph and the gas engine won't kick in like it used to before the update. It doesn't go above 65 and slows down to about 62 even if my foot is pedal to the floor before ice kicks in. Makes it pretty dangerous to be merging with traffic going 70+.Read more

In addition, the vehicle has experienced repeated loss of power while driving, which creates a risk in traffic conditions and could impact driver control and safety. The issue has been previously confirmed by the dealership, which replaced the charging port due to thermal damage. However, upon recurrence of similar symptoms, the dealership has refused to diagnose or service the vehicle, preventing further confirmation at this time. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized dealership on multiple occasions for related issues, including the prior charging system failure. The manufacturer has not directly inspected the vehicle but has been contacted for assistance. The vehicle has a dangerous hesitation and delayed acceleration when I am coasting and then reapplying the accelerator. When I press the accelerator to resume speed, the vehicle does not respond for a significant period. The tr

This delayed response creates a serious safety hazard in traffic. The hesitation occurs at the exact time immediate acceleration is needed to clear an intersection or merge into traffic. This has created near-miss situations due to the vehicle not accelerating when expected. Warning lights and diagnostics: No check engine light is illuminated during the events. The issue occurs without any visible warning indicators on the instrument panel. Conditions: The hesitation is most noticeable during coasting and throttle reapplication at low to moderate speeds, especially when slowing but not stopping. My requests were denied, and the matter was repeatedly categorized as an “out-of-warranty” issue despite my concern specifically involving an active safety recall with no available remedy at the time of failure. I am concerned about: * the lack of an available recall remedy, * the financial burden placed on consumers when a recall-related failure occurs before a remedy is available, * extended delays due to backordered parts, and * the absence of transportation assistance or reimbursement for affected consumers. There was no warning lights or other symptoms prior to this incident on May 3, 2026. In fact, I had the vehicle in for the prescribed recall to test the engine for the known defect earlier in 2026. The vehicle passed that test and was g
... iven the upgraded oil change to presumably prevent the engine failure in the future. It did not work. Our safety and others on the turnpike were at risk while we were traveling at highway rates of speed with sudden loss of all propulsion. The vehicle was towed that evening to local GM dealer - Yark Chevy in [XXX] . Upon inspection on May 5, 2026, the dealership informed me the engine had seized and would be replaced by GM. They were unable to provide a timeline for this repair. I have the tow expense of $260.70 and now the uncertainty of when I might have a vehicle back. The safety of my family and all others traveling the Ohio Turnpike that date were at significant risk. The vehicle remains at Yark Chevy in Perrysburg, Ohio available for inspection upon request. My 2018 Ford Escape with 1.5L EcoBoost engine had repeated overheating and coolant loss over time. The vehicle was repaired multiple times for cooling system issues (hoses, coolant, water pump), but the problem persisted. It has now been diagnosed with internal coolant intrusion requiring engine replacement. This matches known issues reported with this engine.
