On April 17, 2026, my 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe experienced a sudden and complete electrical failure while operating on a public roadway in Texas. The vehicle lost propulsion and became completely disabled in active traffic during dusk/nighttime conditions. All electrical systems failed simultaneously, including lighting and hazard lights. The vehicle could not be restarted, moved, or recharged r
... oadside and was effectively “bricked.” This created a serious safety hazard because the vehicle was stranded in traffic with no hazard lights or electrical warning systems available to alert surrounding vehicles. Police officers responded to protect the vehicle and occupants due to the dangerous roadway location. Due to the low ride height/body configuration of the vehicle, a specialized tow truck was required, causing the disabled vehicle to remain exposed in traffic for more than five hours. The vehicle was finally removed around 11:00 PM and transported to a Mercedes-Benz service center. Mercedes-Benz service documentation confirmed: Internal failure involving the 12V battery system Consequential overload/failure of the 48V system Multiple diagnostic trouble codes Vehicle shutdown conditions The vehicle and components are available for inspection upon request. The condition was confirmed and inspected by Mercedes-Benz technicians and police officers at the scene. Prior to the total failure, dashboard warning messages and malfunction alerts had appeared. After repairs including replacement of the 12V and 48V systems, the vehicle again displayed warning messages on May 7, 2026: “Cooling System Malfunction – Reduced Drive Power – Service Required.” Because this warning resembled the precursor symptoms before the original total shutdown event, the vehicle was immediately returned to the same Mercedes-Benz service center to prevent another dangerous roadway failure.Read more

It has become to dangerous to drive and the engine has now failed and knocking and shaking has caused me to park my car and not drive it. I am deeply concerned about the risk of catastrophic engine failure and the potential for fire, which has been documented in similar cases. Despite having the Knock Sensor Detection System installed, my vehicle continues to exhibit these dangerous symptoms. I sought assistance from Landers Crain dealership and KIA; however, they declined to properly evaluate or service my vehicle along with KIA declining according to the KIA Regional Manager. I am the owner of a Nissan Rogue subject to recall campaign R25D1, which addresses a manufacturing defect affecting engine bearings and/or engine components that may progressively fail over time, leading to engine damage and engine failure. I brought my vehicle to Headquarter Nissan in Columbus, GA (the same dealer that issued the recall notice) for diagnosis after experiencing engine problems. Th
... e dealer’s diagnostic findings document a complete engine failure consistent with the recall description, including: •EGR valve failure (valve could be opened to 70 degrees with no change in engine performance, when anything over 20 degrees should cause the engine to stall) •Engine overheating •Blown head gasket •Failed EGR cooler •Total coolant loss (vehicle arrived with no coolant; 2 gallons had to be added before fluid registered in the overflow) The dealer’s recommended repair is full replacement of the engine, turbo, catalytic converter, EGR valve, and EGR cooler, along with all gaskets and hardware. The estimate provided is $9,514.72. Despite the failure pattern matching the recall description (progressive component failure leading to engine damage), the dealer is denying recall coverage by attributing the root cause to the EGR cooler rather than the bearings or engine components named in the recall. This causation is also inconsistent with the diagnostic write-up itself, which describes the EGR valve as the initiating failure that led to overheating and subsequent damage to the head gasket and cooler. I am filing this complaint because the dealer’s denial appears to be a reframing of a recall-eligible failure to shift repair costs onto the consumer. I am requesting NHTSA review of how recall R25D1 is being applied at the dealer level and whether failures like mine are being inappropriately excluded.Read more

(We just had cvt fluid flushed and replaced on 1/26.) Dealer removed and replaced cvt control valve assembly. The car is still rough idling and I am concerned that it will lose power with no notice again while driving putting me and others at risk. I am concerned that the throttle body and cvt issues are connected to the original ECM recall especially since other rogues manufactured in a similar time are having throttle body issues and the fact that the codes related to the CVT issue can potentially be caused by metal shavings debris or even the ECM directly affecting the TCM and damage to the transmission.Read more

I own a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali equipped with the 6.2L L87 engine. On or around December 31, 2025, the vehicle developed a loud knocking noise from the engine that became worse with RPM increase. The truck was taken to a GMC dealership for diagnosis and repair under warranty/service contract coverage. The dealership initially diagnosed valvetrain-related failure and replaced multiple top-end
... components including lifters, rocker arms, camshaft-related parts, belts, pulleys, hoses, and associated hardware. After reassembly, the engine reportedly started briefly and then failed again. The dealership then performed additional teardown and determined the lower end of the engine had also failed. I was informed by dealership staff that rod bearing failure is “very common” on the L87 6.2L engines. Due to the extent of the damage, the vehicle ultimately required a complete long block replacement. My truck remained out of service from approximately 12/31/2025 until 5/1/2026, a period of roughly four months. During that time, there were repeated delays involving diagnosis, inspections, warranty approvals, and additional teardown procedures. The vehicle had approximately 111,858 miles at the time of failure and had been regularly maintained. Prior to the engine failure, the truck exhibited abnormal engine ticking/knocking noises under load and higher RPM operation. The final repair performed was replacement of the engine long block assembly. I am submitting this report because the dealership indicated this type of lower-end/rod bearing failure is common on the GM 6.2L L87 platform, and I believe this issue may represent a broader reliability and safety concern affecting other owners.Read more

On May 2, 2026, ten days after purchasing the vehicle, the driver‑side seatbelt locking mechanism failed while I was driving. The vehicle was inspected the next day at CarMax Tuscaloosa. Their mechanic confirmed two separate safety defects: 1. The driver‑side seatbelt mechanism requires replacement. 2. The motor mounts are broken/loose and require replacement. The mechanic explained that debri
... s was found inside the seatbelt mechanism, and the seatbelt needed full replacement. He also confirmed that the motor mounts were broken/loose, which can cause excessive engine movement, vibration, loss of power, or engine shifting during braking or acceleration. These conditions increase the risk of stalling or sudden shutdown, which is consistent with what occurred during my incident. The failed components are: • The driver‑side seatbelt locking mechanism • The motor mounts/engine mounting system Both components remain on the vehicle. The seatbelt failure left me unrestrained while driving. The vehicle then shifted into Park and shut off in the middle of traffic, creating a risk of being struck by other vehicles or losing control. The broken motor mounts increase the risk of engine movement, stalling, or shutdown while driving, which could lead to loss of steering control or sudden deceleration in traffic. Yes. A CarMax mechanic at the Tuscaloosa, AL location confirmed both defects: As mentioned above The vehicle was inspected by CarMax Tuscaloosa. Jaguar Birmingham declined inspection because they do not service Jaguars older than 2018. An independent Jaguar specialist declined inspection due to prior non‑payment issues with CarMax. No manufacturer, police, or insurance inspection has occurred. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the failure. The seatbelt malfunction occurred suddenly. The engine shutdown occurred immediately after the seatbelt unlatched while braking. The vehicle remains unsafe to drive due to the unreliable seatbelt, broken motor mounts.Read more

The vehicle experiences sudden loss of motive power during acceleration. Between 30–60 mph, the transmission fails to upshift correctly, causing the engine RPMs to spike to 5000 while the vehicle fails to gain speed. My 2023 GMC Hummer EV 3X has experienced repeated thermal-protection failures in the high-voltage battery and drive-motor cooling system, causing the vehicle to enter limp mode and drop to as low as 12 mph without warning. Stored fault codes: P0C12, P0C13, P2EE0, P2EE1 (battery and drive-unit overheating). A sudden, unannounced drop to 12 mph in a 9,000-lb EV is a serious safety hazard — on hig
... hways it creates rear-end collision risk, in intersections it leaves the vehicle stranded in traffic, and on remote roads it can strand the driver with no safe shoulder. Visit 1 (Covert Buick GMC of Bee Cave, TX): 02/09/2026–03/24/2026, 43 days out of service. Repairs: replaced both EV coolant pumps (PN 85605761), replaced Drive Motor Inverter Module 2 (PN 24059125), coolant flush, software update. RO #BUCS138101. GM TAC Case #88689105. Six days after return, on 03/30/2026, the same defect recurred with the same fault codes. Vehicle has now been back at the dealer 38+ additional days with no resolution. GM had pre-sale knowledge of this exact defect on this exact VIN. The vehicle was a GM corporate evaluation unit (factory option code OAR — EVALUATION VEHICLE) operated out of GM Tech Center in Warren, MI. GM took it out of service on 08/07/2025 at 30,169 miles. I took delivery 16 miles later at 30,185 miles. A GM Driver Inspection Form left inside the vehicle at delivery is handwritten with "Limited Speed 12 mph" — the exact limp-mode behavior. GM auctioned the vehicle through CVO Warren Distribution Center without disclosing this condition. I request ODI open a preliminary evaluation of cooling-system thermal-protection failures on 2022–2024 Hummer EV Pickups and SUVs, particularly units with prior corporate/fleet use.Read more
