This vehicle has experienced repeated catastrophic engine and drivability failures since purchase and has now undergone four engine replacements under warranty. Despite these major repairs, the vehicle continues to experience dangerous shutdown/stalling conditions. The primary safety issue occurs while braking or coming to a stop. The engine will suddenly shut off unexpectedly, creating a serious
... traffic hazard and leaving the vehicle unable or difficult to restart. This has occurred multiple times and creates a dangerous situation in traffic and at intersections. The vehicle remains under manufacturer warranty, however the defect has not been successfully repaired despite extensive service attempts and multiple complete engine replacements. The condition substantially impairs the safety, reliability, and use of the vehicle. This vehicle was acquired through a fleet/lease arrangement for company use and was not purchased for resale. It is a light-duty 1500-series pickup with approximately 7,100–7,200 GVWR used as a company vehicle. Complete repair history, diagnostic records, warranty repairs, and engine replacement documentation can be obtained from: Stevens GMC Bristol, Connecticut The vehicle has been repeatedly presented for repair and the defect remains unresolved. This appears to be a serious ongoing safety-related defect involving engine shutdown/stalling while braking or stopping.Read more

purchased a vehicle that has experienced ongoing mechanical and safety-related defects, including excessive oil consumption, seat belt malfunctions, and unresolved injector recall issues. Despite multiple repair attempts by the dealership, the problems continue to persist and have not been permanently corrected. These defects substantially affect the vehicle’s safety, reliability, value, and eve
... ryday use. The dealership and manufacturer represented the vehicle as reliable and safe; however, the repeated failures and unresolved recalls suggest otherwise. I believe it is misleading to continue selling or servicing vehicles with known defects that cannot be properly repaired. I have also learned that certain model years are no longer sold due to widespread malfunctioning issues that are costly for consumers to repair, yet I was not informed of these concerns at the time of purchase. I have made several attempts to resolve this matter by bringing the vehicle to the dealership for repairs, reporting the recurring issues, and complying with recommended service appointments. Despite these efforts, the defects remain unresolved, causing financial hardship, inconvenience, and concerns for my safety.Read more

While operating the vehicle on the highway at speeds around 55 to 60 mph, without warning, the engine suffered a sudden, catastrophic internal mechanical engine failure that resulted in an immediate and complete loss of motive power, rendering the vehicle entirely undriveable. The vehicle was towed to an authorized Hyundai dealership for a formal tear-down and diagnosis. They Hyundai dealership
... technician formally diagnosed the issue as a catastrophic internal "pin failure" (Structural failure of an internal engine pin component). This component defect caused a total mechanical breakdown of the engine assembly. Hyundai Motor America has issued a corporate warranty denial for an engine replacement, despite the vehicle being covered under the Hyundai Engine II Class Action Settlement (which extends powertrain protections due to widespread internal engine manufacturing defects), A sudden, un-warned loss of engine power while driving poses a severe and immediate safety hazard to the driver, passengers and other motorists on the highway. Hyundai's refusal to remedy this known structural defect leaves a dangerous vehicle un-repaired. I am requesting an investigation into Hyundai's denial of coverage for structural engine component failures on the 2.0L Nu engine platform.Read more

Bought the car 8 months ago from a Kia dealer. It is now pulling the same engine codes, of the infamous recalled Kia engines. After having diagnostics done at a different Kia then I had bought and had oil changed. They told me the engine and turbo was full of metal shavings and the rods were bad. I pad $10,900 for the car $15,000 to fix, they knowingly sold me a totaled car. I’m sure records ref

All GT models do not have the turbo engine. So safe to assume that number is way lower. They know this is a manufacturing defect, and this model engine wasn’t recalled because the numbers aren’t not there. I’m sure these 2,500 or less turbo engines were manufactured in the same facility, same workers and process as the other 2020 forte recalls. The car is smoking and I’m being told “it’s ok to drive unless the engine light is flashing” which I’ll assume is before it catches fire, so I have to worry about that while not being under recall? I am submitting a vehicle safety and certification concern regarding a 2023 Kia Sorento Hybrid that was marketed and offered for sale as a Kia Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle by Shawnee Mission Kia, 7951 Shawnee Mission Pkwy, Mission, KS 66202. On [XXX], during an in-person inspection of the vehicle prior to purchase, I observed conditions inconsistent with expected Certified Pre-Owned inspecti
... on and preparation standards, including inverter coolant below the minimum level, engine oil materially above the normal operating range, and deteriorated windshield wiper condition. A third-party witness was present during the inspection. Because the vehicle was being represented as Certified Pre-Owned, I requested the vehicle’s CPO inspection checklist and supporting inspection documentation from dealership personnel. The requested documentation was not provided despite multiple follow-up requests. Subsequent written communications from dealership management acknowledged failures in dealership standards and handling related to the matter. After a formal complaint was submitted to the dealership’s corporate parent, the dealership’s General Manager responded in writing that an internal review had been initiated concerning CPO preparation and documentation practices. The requested inspection and service documentation were still not produced. The dealership later confirmed in writing that the vehicle “has since sold.” I am submitting this complaint because the vehicle was represented to consumers as Certified Pre-Owned despite observed maintenance and inspection concerns affecting vehicle condition and safety-related systems, while supporting certification documentation was not produced upon request. I am submitting a complaint regarding a 2017 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate AWD equipped with the 1.6L Turbo Gamma GDI engine. My vehicle currently has approximately 127,000 miles and has experienced sudden engine knocking consistent with rod bearing failure and/or catastrophic internal engine damage. The vehicle has been properly maintained, including regular oil changes. However, the engine began cons
... uming excessive oil without warning. Upon inspection by an independent repair facility, the engine was found to have extremely low oil levels despite being within the normal oil change interval. After refilling the oil, the engine continued making severe knocking noises, and the repair facility advised that the engine is likely non-repairable and requires replacement. This failure appears materially similar to the rod bearing and engine failure issues already widely documented in Hyundai/Kia engine defect investigations and class action settlements involving related Gamma and GDI engine platforms. I have learned that Hyundai extended warranties for certain vehicles with similar engine defects up to 15 years/150,000 miles; however, my specific Tucson trim/engine configuration does not appear included despite experiencing the same type of failure. This vehicle has also previously required major drivetrain repairs under warranty, including two transmission replacements and turbocharger replacement. My concern is both financial and safety-related. A sudden engine failure or seizure while driving could create a serious roadway hazard and risk of loss of power in traffic. Additionally, Hyundai dealerships have advised that replacement engines for this vehicle are no longer readily available. I believe Hyundai should further investigate whether the 2017 Tucson 1.6T Gamma GDI engine should be included in existing engine defect warranty extensions and/or recalls.Read more

The vehicle began showing serious safety related symptoms before the engine failed. These included engine knocking, repeated sensor failures, the speedometer and odometer blacking out while driving, the navigation screen going dark, and the entire instrument cluster malfunctioning. These issues caused loss of speed information, loss of vehicle status, and loss of navigation visibility, creating un
... safe driving conditions. Despite these warning signs, the engine later failed suddenly at around 71,399 miles with no warning lights, no oil pressure alerts, and no overheating indicators. The sudden loss of power created a highway safety hazard due to loss of propulsion and reduced steering and braking assist. The manufacturer and dealership also provided conflicting and misleading information about warranty coverage, including a claim of “no warranty on engine,” which contradicts the official warranty coverage documents. This has delayed proper repair of a safety related defect.Read more

I was driving at highway speeds when my vehicle suddenly lost power and began rapidly decelerating. The vehicle eventually stalled in the middle of the roadway, creating a serious safety hazard for me and other drivers and significantly increasing the risk of a crash. This vehicle had previously undergone the GM safety recall inspection under Recall N252494000 for the L87 6.2L engine loss of prop
... ulsion defect. The recall inspection and remedy failed to identify the underlying engine defect, and the engine still catastrophically failed only months later. After the recall was completed, the vehicle was maintained according to GM’s updated recall instructions, including use of the required 0W-40 engine oil. Despite compliance with the recall remedy and maintenance requirements, the engine still failed during normal highway operation. The recall specifically acknowledged potential manufacturing defects involving the connecting rod and/or crankshaft components that could lead to engine failure and loss of propulsion. That is exactly what occurred in this incident. I believe the recall inspection procedure was inadequate and failed to detect defective engines that remain unsafe and subject to catastrophic failure even after being marked as “recall completed.”Read more

*The mechanic diagnosed internal engine failure (May 14, 2026). The vehicle is at the second mechanic's shop. *The car stalled twice. The first time, over 20 miles, the air conditioning stopped, followed by the radio, and then acceleration. I pulled over and the acceleration returned but only for a minute. The second time, a clacking noise got louder and faster, and three miles later the engine s
... topped. I coasted and pulled over but had to shift to neutral and use the parking brake to stop. *The first time was a two-lane road (55 MPH). As I lost acceleration, cars slowed behind me. It took so long to turn off on a side road, the car behind me almost hit me as they speeded up to pass. The second time was a busy two-lane road (45 MPH), but the engine stopped so quickly, the person behind me almost rear ended me. Without the steering, the car crossed the middle lane, and I had to haul the steering wheel so I could pull off to a side street. *The first repair shop said the oil was low and suggested the place that changed the oil did not know what it was doing and perhaps didn't put the cap on right. The oil was dripping over the engine and to the bottom of the housing. After driving it, the mechanic said the Hyundai service center should do a diagnostic, but it was safe to drive. The second repair shop did an oil change to see what was happening with the oil flow. He found metal filings as well as other problems and said it this was an internal engine failure. *The Hyundai service center said the vehicle needed to be towed, at my own expense, to the its center for a $185.00 out-of-pocket diagnostic. *In October 2025, the Hyundai dealership serviced the car for a cylinder head oil leak recall/problem. *There were no warning lights either time--no engine or oil lights came on. am writing to report a potential safety and fire hazard issue involving my BMW X1, along with ongoing electrical concerns I have experienced with this vehicle since purchase. During the visit, I agreed to replace the cabin/carbon air filter as recommended. Approximately three weeks later, while driving, I turned on the air conditioning and immediately noticed a strong burning smell coming from the vents. Concerned about a possible electrical or overheating issue, I turned the air off immediately. I contacted BMW service and the earliest available appointment was scheduled for May 20, 2026. During the scheduling call, the BMW service representative informed me that my vehicle also had an active recall that would be addressed during my appointment. When I asked for details, I was told it involved a “software update issue.” On May 18, 2026, I attempted to use the air conditioning again. This time, the burning smell became significantly worse and was combined with a musty odor. Shortly afterward, the ventilation system stopped blowing air entirely. When I arrived at BMW service, I explained the symptoms to my advisor. He responded that the issue “sounded familiar” and stepped away to speak with someone else. When he returned, he explained that another customer had recently reported a similar issue involving a recall on a BMW M5, but stated that the BMW X1 did not currently have the same recall. Complaint Regarding 2018 Honda HR-V AWD – Air Conditioning Failure, Odometer Malfunction, and Prior Fuel Pump Replacement. I am filing a complaint regarding my 2018 Honda HR-V AWD due to ongoing mechanical and electrical issues that appear to affect many Honda HR-V owners. The primary issue is the air conditioning system, which has not been functioning consistently. The A/C repeatedly fails to
... cool properly and intermittently stops working altogether. I am aware that many other Honda HR-V owners have reported similar air conditioning problems, and Honda has offered extended warranty coverage for certain Honda vehicles with A/C system defects. However, my vehicle has not been included in that extended coverage, despite experiencing the same recurring issues. In addition, the vehicle previously required a fuel pump replacement in 2021. I am concerned that this may indicate broader reliability and safety-related defects affecting this model. The vehicle is also experiencing mechanical and electrical problems involving the odometer/instrumentation system. The odometer has shown irregular behavior and appears to malfunction intermittently, raising concerns about the accuracy of vehicle information and overall reliability. I have been experiencing these issues for years without any resolution. I reached out to Honda Customer Service about these issues, but because my "VIN" is not included in the recall or extended warranty, I haven't been able to get much help. I believe these issues warrant investigation, particularly given the number of similar complaints from other Honda HR-V owners. I respectfully request that Honda be required to extend warranty coverage and corrective action to include affected 2018 Honda HR-V AWD vehicles like mine. Thank you for your attention to this matterRead more
