Purchased a Ford Bronco Sport brand new in 2021. I received a recall notice for my bronco sport last July. I took my vehicle to the Ford dealership and they told me there was no remedy available. Master Power Window Control Switch failed operating the Passenger power window regulator. While driving, the front passenger regulator popped and the window started falling down all by itself. It happened by a glass repair company, so I asked them what happened. He said when the voltage going to the regulator is not uniform, the regulator will pop and the window will drop down. He offered to repai
... r it for $200 including parts which I thought was a fair price. I went to a website where they tell you if any parts on your vehicle have been recalled. It did include a master power window control switch for a 2005 Honda CR-V. So I called Middletown Honda, (NY) and they said the master Power Window Control Switch was $405. My car was not included in the recall (which only included switches made in the U.K) and they would only see the car if they could get a new Master Power Window Switch. I proceeded to tape up the window which dramatically reduces visibility to the rear view mirror and to side traffic on the highway. I don't have comprehensive insurance on my car and don't want to report it to my insurance company as I am [XXX] old reducing the chances of getting insurance from another company. The airbag light has been coming on and off since this incident leaving me with another unknown electrical problem. On XXX, driving at a relatively low rate of speed coming off the on-ramp from [XXX] onto [XXX], the hood of our Thrifty rental vehicle, a 2024 Ford Bronco, suddenly and without warning, flew up and completely obstructed the windshield. As we had just entered the highway we were quite fortunate to have been in the right hand lane and able to safely pull into the breakdown lane. And even more fortun
... ate that there were not cars immediately ahead or behind us that we could have hit. And third, very fortunate that the force of the hood did not shatter the windshield. The hood flew up with such force that it essentially "wedged" itself into the side edges of the car and had to be manually dislodged to be closed. Some tube or coil-like structure on the right side of the car had been split in two by the force (later learned this was the windshield wiper fluid hose). Two other points of importance - it was very windy that day. And there was absolutely no warning on the dashboard system that the hood was ajar or anything to that effect. We drove at a very low rate of speed to the next exit to find a service station where the car could be inspected before driving the 3 hours on to [XXX]. The mechanic stated the problem had been with the hood latch, but it appeared safe for us to drive. On returning the car to Thrifty, a verbal report was immediately given, but it seemed strange to me that no paperwork was filled out. The woman processing cars wrote down "windshield wiper hose" and left to move some vehicles. I waited for about 10 minutes, but she didn't return. Research upon my return home revealed similar problems reported with other Ford Broncos - both with the hood opening unexpectedly while driving and with faulty dashboard warning systems. [XXX] I was contacted by Thrifty's 3rd party vendor handling "damage incidents" - PurCo and related these events. They claim Thrifty sees no problem on their end. The handshake between the Toyota Entertainment System, and the SiriusXM satellite, have a known issue. The metadeta is not being received upon start up of the vehicle, at least half the time the vehicle is turned on. This causes a "loading..." screen error on the SiriusXM screen. While music is playing just fine, the data feed never does load. This is occurring in various locations, even in open
... fields and parking lots with no obstructions of the sky. The vehicle has been seen by the dealership, screen shots have been shared, but no software patch has been issued to solve the "handshake" between the radio unit and SiriusXM satellites. The temporary solution is to hold down the power button and do a "soft reset" of the entertainment unit, which solves the issue until the vehicle is powered off and powered on again. This issue is widespread, and many owners of Land Cruiser, 4runners, Corollas and Grand Highlanders have experienced the same issue, with no solution in sight. Personally, this issue has been occurring for at least 16 months, and perhaps since I owned the vehicle. The dealership has hooked the vehicle up to diagnostic tools, but no error or fault codes are showing, which leads to believe this is purely a software bug with the metadate parser when the vehicle is first turned on.Read more

My 2014 Ford Focus with a DPS6 dual-clutch transmission began experiencing severe shuddering and harsh shifting. A Ford dealership confirmed the concern and diagnosed DTC P07A3 — Transmission Friction Element A Stuck On — using Ford's prescribed pinpoint test. Recommended repair exceeds $4,000. Vehicle is available for inspection. This is a recurring failure on this specific vehicle. Ford's ow
... n warranty history documents six prior DPS6 repairs between 2016 and 2023, including two full clutch replacements, three TCM/PCM reprogramming sessions, and a full TCM replacement under program 14M02 — all at Ford dealerships. The current failure occurs just 35,000 miles after Ford's most recent transmission repair. Prior repair orders document dangerous safety events including sudden loss of drive while in motion, no-start conditions, and complete loss of throttle control on the highway — consistent with the known DPS6 failure pattern. Ford issued six Customer Satisfaction Programs covering this transmission over eleven years — 14M01, 14M02, 15B22, 19N07, 19N08, and 14M02 Supplement 7 — acknowledging a persistent design defect. Despite this documented repeat failure history on this specific vehicle, Ford has denied goodwill assistance. I am requesting NHTSA investigate Ford's continued denial of repair assistance on vehicles with documented repeat DPS6 failures and the ongoing safety implications of this transmission's known design defects.Read more

OnXXX, as we approached what I call the 6 o’clock position of a round-about in [XXX], we had braked almost to a full stop (0-5 mph) to wait on the car ahead of us to enter the round-about when we felt increasing movement. Despite braking, to wait on that car, our car with increasing speed started shoving that car into the circle. Fortunately, he was able to drive away from us, but that car had
... been damaged on the back and right side. With that obstacle out of the way, our car rapidly and exponentially increased speed - all while we were fully braking. Two witnesses said they saw our brake lights as we sped along. We hit the curb as we approached the 12 o’clock exit, and that turned us so that we crossed both lanes of the road and headed towards the far sidewalk and storefronts. When we hit that curb it pushed us diagonally to face the street again. Hard to estimate but we must have been doing 50 mph when we hit a very large brick planter and we finally were wedged to a stop when we slammed in between two vehicles parked parallel to the sidewalk. The motor ran for a few seconds after we stopped, and finally quit on its own. We KNOW the brake was applied the whole time; there were no visual or audible alarms from the car as we entered “UNINTENDED ACCELERATION”. Despite the incredibly strong impact (our car has been deemed totaled) the front air bags did not deploy. Only the driver’s side curtain deployed. The bumper of the parked transport van on our front left was damaged, and the small SUV on our front right was deemed totaled. No people were in those two parked cars; the first car was hit at the initial slower speed so those people were not injured. By some grace, no pedestrians were in our path or they would surely have been killed. The driver of our car (my husband) was miraculously not injured, but CT scans and x-rays showed I had several contusions and a fractured tibia that will require surgery due to brake, propulsion, no air bags. This exact mechanical failure mechanism directly mirrors the severe engineering defect detailed in NHTSA Campaign Number 22V746000 (Hyundai Safety Recall 236) for electric oil pump failures causing a sudden loss of drive power. Hyundai Motor America Corporate Case Management has issued a flat denial of all safety and goodwill repair coverage based strictly on the vehicle's 140,000 miles, claiming that mileage absolves them of product liability for a catastrophic drivetrain safety defect that endangered three young children. Furthermore, the franchise dealership is actively withholding the GDS diagnostic failure scan codes from the consumer, calling them "internal documents" to actively suppress federal evidence of this safety failure. Further, the authorized Hyundai dealership engaged in deceptive practices by refusing to put anything in writing, and refusing my request for any diagnostic information, including any report indicating diagnostic error codes, technician summary, etc.Read more

I have had numerous incidents where the camera has failed when backing up and have photos to document these instances. While driving my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe on the Garden State Parkway and approaching traffic on the Driscoll Bridge, a turtle warning icon suddenly appeared on the dashboard, indicating limited vehicle performance. Moments later, the dashboard displayed a message instructing me to "Shift to Park." Immediately after this warning, the vehicle suffered a complete hybrid/electrical system failure and
... lost all motive power. The vehicle became completely unresponsive, and I was unable to accelerate, move the vehicle, or restart it. The vehicle came to a stop in an active travel lane of the Garden State Parkway on the Driscoll Bridge, leaving me stranded in live highway traffic. This created an immediate and serious safety hazard, as vehicles were approaching from behind and I was exposed to the risk of a high-speed rear-end collision. The vehicle could not be moved under its own power and had to be removed from the travel lane and towed to a nearby parking lot. Roadside assistance later performed a battery reset, which temporarily restored vehicle operation and allowed me to drive the vehicle home. No permanent repair was performed, and the cause of the failure remains unresolved. The vehicle currently has multiple open safety recalls, including Recall 68C involving the high-voltage battery system. Stellantis has also recently announced an additional recall involving electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring and fire risk. The primary defect is the sudden loss of propulsion and complete electrical/hybrid system shutdown while driving, resulting in the vehicle becoming disabled in active highway traffic without warning. This defect created an immediate risk of a serious crash and could have resulted in severe injury or death.Read more

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my new Honda CR-V which is 6 months old. Water seeped into my parked and closed vehicle, and after that I experienced multiple hazard warning lights on the dashboard while driving on XX, which caused panic and concern for safety. The next day, the vehicle became unresponsive and the battery went dead. This was alarming because the warning lights appeared du
... ring highway driving, where a sudden electrical or system failure could create a crash risk. The vehicle had been parked and closed when the water intrusion occurred, so I am concerned there may be a defect related to water sealing, electrical systems, or battery failure. The dealer confirmed that the seal was broken and might have been a manufacturing defect. This caused water seepage. But they were not sure if the water seepage was related to battery giving electrical warnings and going dead. This uncertainty caused more insecurity as we do not know the reason for battery failure exactly when water leaked into the vehicle. Please investigate whether this issue is related to a safety defect. I request that this complaint be reviewed for any pattern involving water intrusion, dashboard warnings, electrical failure, or battery drain in this model. I am reporting a serious safety defect involving the door locking and electrical systems in my 2024 Audi SQ8. On two separate occasions the vehicle experienced a complete electrical malfunction. During the first incident, I and my child were trapped inside the vehicle. The doors would not open from the inside and the vehicle would not start. After the first incident, the vehicle was taken to an Au
... di dealership for inspection and repair. I was informed that the issue had been identified and repaired. Despite those repairs, the same safety issue occurred again. During the second incident, which was captured on video, the vehicle would not start despite repeated attempts. The vehicle malfunctioned again after the dealership had already stated the problem was fixed. Dealership personnel acknowledged that they could not guarantee the problem would not happen again. I was also provided a video demonstrating a manual emergency exit procedure because the electronic door locking system could become inoperative again. The dealership showed how occupants would have to use a mechanical override to exit if the electronic system failed again. This defect creates a significant safety risk because occupants can become trapped inside the vehicle unable to exit during an emergency. The inability to start the vehicle combined with failure of the electronic door locking system could delay escape in the event of a fire, collision, medical emergency, or other hazardous situation. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Audi dealership multiple times. The problem was reproduced by the vehicle itself on multiple occasions, and I have video evidence documenting one of the incidents. Because of these repeated failures and the safety risk posed to me and everyone on the road I no longer feel it is safe to drive it.Read more

I am filing this complaint regarding an unresolved and potentially dangerous safety defect involving the rearview camera system on my Ford vehicle, which was presented to Wade Ford Auto Dealership and Service in Smyrna, Georgia for a rear camera recall repair. I brought my vehicle, a 2016 Ford Expedition, to Wade Ford for recall service related to the rearview camera. Wade Ford retained my vehic
... le for approximately one week. When I picked up the vehicle on or about [insert pickup date], I discovered that the rear camera issue had not been corrected. The rear camera image remains dark, unclear, visually deficient, and unsafe, creating a continuing hazard when the vehicle is operated in reverse. This is not a cosmetic or convenience issue. A defective rearview camera materially impairs rear visibility and increases the risk of collision, property damage, or injury. Federal safety authorities have recognized rearview camera failures as safety concerns because blank, distorted, inverted, delayed, frozen, or unclear images can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle and increase crash risk. NHTSA recall materials for Ford rearview camera defects describe the safety consequence as reduced rear visibility and increased crash risk when the rearview camera displays a distorted, inverted, or blank image. (static.nhtsa.gov) After I raised the unresolved condition, Ford claimed or suggested that the issue may be due to an aftermarket radio allegedly installed in the vehicle. I dispute that explanation. I have not replaced the rear camera, and I do not accept Ford’s unsupported attempt to attribute an unresolved safety recall defect to an aftermarket component without competent inspection findings, diagnostic proof, or written documentation. If Ford or Wade Ford contends that an aftermarket radio is the cause, then I request that they provide a written technical explanation, diagnostic results, photographs, technician notes.Read more

The vehicle is stalling in the acceleration process. I can feel and hear the stall by the air conditioner going out or fading out when it happens while driving. Pressing the gas and it barely moves at times. Makes a noise now while running. Unknown to whether it's electrical or engine or transmission. Pull out in the traffic accelerating but the car wasn't moving at the pace it should have. Could
