I am filing a complaint regarding NHTSA Recall 24V-700 (R24B2) for my 2019 Nissan LEAF S Plus, VIN: [XXX], Nissan Case No. XXX. I complied fully with Nissan's recall instructions, avoiding Level 3 fast charging for my entire ownership. On or about April 23, I filed a complaint with Nissan Consumer Affairs (Case #XXX) regarding the impact of the charging restriction on my vehicle's usability and re
... quested a buyback. Nissan denied my claim approximately two months ago. I then surrendered my vehicle for the recall repair. The dealer returned it, stating the recall was remedied. Over the following three days, I drove only short local trips with minimal driving — no fast charging. The vehicle lurched violently on a public road, entered turtle mode, and displayed multiple dashboard warning lights. I drove it slowly to the dealership. My dealer confirmed full battery replacement is required and submitted a Goodwill Warranty claim on my behalf — acknowledging this failure was not due to owner misuse. Nissan North America (Case No. XXX) has since informed me in writing that battery replacement cannot be provided and is now offering repurchase. The battery failure occurred directly after Nissan's purported recall repair with minimal driving. Nissan claimed the defect was fixed — it was not. I am concerned the KBB value Nissan intends to use may be artificially suppressed by five open safety recalls, including 24V-700, and the vehicle's current non-operational status — caused entirely by Nissan's defective repair. I request NHTSA scrutinize Nissan's repurchase valuation methodology for affected owners. I request NHTSA investigate Nissan's failure to remedy this recall. My preferred remedy remains battery replacement. I should not bear the financial consequences of a repair Nissan certified as complete. Description On your vehicle it is possible that the trailer module trm may lose communication at vehicle start-up. If a trm loss of communication occurs and a trailer is connected to the vehicle, trailer stop lamps and turn signal indicators will not function. Additionally, for trailers equipped with electronic trailer brakes, the trailer brakes will not function. This loss of communication can o
... ccur with-or-without a trailer connected to the vehicle and can only initiate at vehicle start-up. If this occurs, a trailer brake module fault notification will pop-up on the vehicles instrument panel cluster. The vehicle brake and turn signal lamps will continue to operate normally and are not affected by this trm fault. If you do not tow with your vehicle, you may wait for ota deployment for your vehicle remedy. Safety Risk This may result in inoperable trailer brake lights, trailer turn signals and trailer braking functions that can reduce a drivers ability to control an attached trailer and make the trailer less visible to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. On May 15, 2026, my 2023 Chevrolet Colorado (2.7L L3B turbocharged engine, approximately 49,000 miles) lost its entire engine oil charge while in normal operation, and at NO point did the low-oil-pressure warning light illuminate to alert me. While driving, a loud buzzing/vibrating noise developed near the upper engine and the center dash area. The vehicle continued to run with no oil-pressure war
... ning of any kind — no low-oil-pressure light and no audible oil-pressure chime. Concerned by the noise, I immediately pulled into a parking lot and checked under the hood. The engine oil dipstick was completely dry, showing no oil whatsoever. I added 3 quarts of oil and the dipstick still showed no reading, indicating the engine had been operating with a critically low or empty oil level. Throughout this entire event, no oil-pressure warning activated. There was no external oil leak, no puddle where the vehicle is normally parked, and no oil in the coolant reservoir, which suggests the oil was being consumed or lost internally rather than dripping out — a condition the driver cannot see or anticipate without a functioning warning system. Drivers depend entirely on the oil-pressure warning system to alert them before oil starvation causes catastrophic engine damage or sudden engine seizure. An engine that seizes without warning while the vehicle is in motion creates an immediate and severe crash risk — sudden loss of motive power in traffic, on a highway, or in an intersection. The complete failure of this warning system to illuminate during a total loss of oil is, by itself, a safety defect independent of whatever is causing the oil loss, because it removes the driver's only opportunity to stop the vehicle safely before failure. These symptoms also align with existing GM service documentation: TSB 25-NA-309 addresses high idle, oil consumption, oil leaks, and MIL illumination caused by internal failure of the PCV oil separator, and service campaign N232415060 addresses aRead more

I had stopped at a red light and the auto start/stop turned off the car. It would not restart. The fault caused it to stay in Park and could not get out of Park to move vehicle. This not only caused a road hazard but made me and others unsafe. The cause was a enclosed fuse box that made batteries go bad. I feel Jeep should be responsible for this.

I am reporting ongoing electrical and infotainment system failures in my 2024 Ford Bronco Sport that present a potential safety risk to the driver and others on the road. The vehicle’s infotainment system, specifically Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, does not operate reliably. Connections frequently fail, freeze, disconnect, or become unresponsive during normal driving. When this occurs, navigat
... ion, hands‑free communication, and other driver‑assistance functions become unavailable or require repeated attempts to reconnect. This malfunction creates a driver distraction hazard, as the driver is compelled to look at and interact with the center display while the vehicle is in motion in an attempt to restore CarPlay functionality. Loss of navigation guidance or hands‑free operation while driving may increase the risk of a collision. In addition, the wireless charging pad causes excessive heat buildup. After approximately 10–30 minutes of continuous contact, mobile devices become abnormally hot, and the infotainment display screen itself also becomes noticeably hot to the touch. This suggests a potential thermal management or hardware design defect. Overheating electronics raise concerns about equipment damage, device shutdown, or further system instability while driving. The vehicle has been taken to a Ford dealership multiple times for these issues. The dealership performed only brief diagnostic scans and did not attempt to reproduce the overheating condition under real‑world operating time. No repairs or corrective actions were performed, and the issues remain unresolved. Based on repeated failures, overheating, and lack of corrective action, I believe this may be a design or hardware specification issue affecting the infotainment and charging systems, rather than an isolated incident. The combination of infotainment instability, overheating, and driver distraction presents a potential safety concern that warrants investigation.Read more

The 48V eTorque Power Pack Unit (PPU), BPCM, and associated cables failed on my 2019 Jeep Wrangler, causing the vehicle to stall and lose all acceleration while driving on the highway. All components are available for inspection upon request. In June 2025, a non-Jeep service center identified stored diagnostic code P0A9C-00 (48V hybrid battery temperature sensor circuit performance failure) along
... with multiple low voltage codes in the power steering system. The technician noted the issue needed to be addressed by an authorized Jeep dealer, as there was insufficient information to perform a repair on the 48V hybrid system. In September 2025, while driving on the highway, the engine stalled and the vehicle completely lost acceleration and would not restart. The vehicle required towing to an authorized Jeep dealer. A sudden and unexpected loss of acceleration and engine stall on a highway creates an extreme risk of rear-end collision and potential serious injury or fatality to the driver and other motorists. The problem was confirmed by an authorized FCA/Jeep dealer who found the same diagnostic code P0A9C-00, along with corrosion buildup on the 48V connector pins and BPCM pins. Two separate FCA STAR cases were opened by the dealer. The Power Pack Unit Battery was identified as the failed component. The dealer confirmed that the 48V cables required for repair are currently unavailable through Chrysler under any parts specifier, meaning FCA cannot supply the necessary parts to remedy this known defect. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized FCA dealer on two separate occasions nine months apart, with the defect remaining unresolved on both visits due to FCA parts unavailability. Warning symptoms including low voltage codes and the P0A9C-00 fault code were first identified in June 2025, approximately three months before the highway stall event, indicating this was a progressive and worsening defect. The issue was first reported in June 2025 and remains unrepairRead more

I am reporting a safety issue with my 2017 Jeep Renegade. Since approximately 2022, my vehicle has repeatedly stalled while I am driving. When this happens, the battery light and multiple warning lights come on across the dashboard. Messages such as "Shift to Park" appear, the steering becomes very difficult to control, and the brakes become hard to use. This creates a dangerous situation because
... the vehicle loses power while I am operating it on public roads. After the vehicle stalls, it often struggles to restart and may require multiple attempts before starting again. The problem has occurred on numerous occasions and has continued despite multiple repair attempts. I have replaced approximately five alternators and three batteries, but the problem continues. I also maintain my vehicle regularly and receive routine oil changes. When I contacted Jeep regarding this issue, I was told that a low oil condition could cause the vehicle to shut off. However, I advised that my vehicle receives regular maintenance and that the oil level was not low when these incidents occurred. The ongoing stalling issue has caused me significant concern because it affects my ability to safely steer and stop the vehicle. I believe this condition presents a safety hazard to myself, my passengers, and others on the road. I am requesting that this issue be investigated. In addition to the repeated stalling issue, I have experienced ongoing charging system problems. Despite replacing approximately five alternators and three batteries, the battery warning light continues to appear, and the vehicle has tested at low charging voltage while running. The problem remains unresolved despite multiple repair attempts. I am concerned that there may be an underlying electrical, charging system, wiring, or power distribution defect that has not been properly identified or repaired. I have repeatedly reported these concerns because the vehicle continues to lose power while driving.Read more

Vehicle experiences severe, intermittent, un-commanded steering inputs from the Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) system at highway speeds (55-70 MPH). ... nology of manufacturer notice: - Oct 2024: Initial consumer dispute logs flagged steering safety concerns and unresolved campaign items. - Dec 2024: Opened Corporate Case 24164934, formally alerting consumer affairs to dangerous steering wheel jerking. - Jan 2025: Presented to an authorized dealer; an OTA software update was deployed, but intermittent tracking failures persisted, including failure to recognize lanes at night. - June 2026: Under Case 42680760, the system failed acutely on the interstate, jerking the vehicle out of painted lanes. The malfunction originates in the LKA steering control module and camera hardware, which are intact and available for inspection. Dealerships have not replicated the defect during brief diagnostic windows due to its intermittent nature. The manufacturer has deflected these notifications and refused a forensic diagnostic sweep or mechanical remediation. Instead, case managers attempted to close the file by offering partial financial goodwill for an unrelated cosmetic paint delamination defect on the same vehicle. No warning lamps or error messages precede these events; the system executes aggressive mechanical intervention with zero notice. This system error bypasses driver override thresholds, conflicting with vehicle crash avoidance frameworks. Because the computer fails to log diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) during these steering drops, the manufacturer exploits this data vacuum to deny structural remediation, creating severe multi-vehicle side-impact and rollover risks.Read more

... use other motorists, & the malfunction prevents me from using turn signals, violating safety protocols. I demonstrated this to the service manager on 06/10/26. While the technician acknowledged the defect during a road test & performed a 'cap reset' (documented on the repair order), this attempt failed to resolve the issue. Despite this, the service manager refuses to acknowledge the defect, claiming it is an 'intended feature' of a 2023 recall at a different facility (993). This contradicts the technician's findings & my years of incident-free driving until the work on 05/27/26. The dealership initially omitted my return visit from their records, only acknowledging it after I confronted them in writing. An independent shop confirmed this electrical failure likely stems from P33, but requires proprietary dealer tools to diagnose. Attached video proves the vehicle runs while the alarm blares, confirming no relation to old Campaign 993 logic. Attached Repair Order proves the technician acknowledged the defect & attempted a repair. Despite this, the service manager ignores the documentation, his own technician's findings, & my demonstrations, blaming my locking habits while refusing a deep diagnostic. After 16 days in their possession, neither the dealer nor manufacturer has provided a remedy. If this malfunction were an intended feature, it would be an ongoing hazard; it creates a distraction, causes a panic response, & prevents the adequate use of turn signals while in operation. I am writing to formally raise a concern regarding the handling of a safety recall repair performed on my 2019 Acura ILX at Maus Acura of North Tampa. I initially brought my vehicle in to address a safety recall related to the brake master cylinder. As explained in the recall notice, the issue involved contamination of the brake fluid that could affect braking performance. The dealership proceede
... d with replacing the brake master cylinder, as expected. However, the situation became significantly concerning following the completion of the recall service: After the recall repair was completed, my vehicle would not start and had no power. The dealership later informed me that a voltage spike during battery installation damaged the PCM, requiring replacement. The PCM was subsequently replaced, and the vehicle was returned to me. In addition to this, I experienced further issues after retrieving my vehicle: My second key was no longer functioning, which required an additional visit to the dealership for reprogramming. More importantly, I am now experiencing a new issue that did not exist prior to the recall service: when I am stopped (for example, at a traffic light) and holding the brake pedal, the vehicle vibrates noticeably. This ongoing vibration is particularly concerning because: It began only after the recall repair and related work were performed. It affects the normal operation and comfort of the vehicle. It raises questions about whether the repair process may have introduced additional mechanical or engine-related issues. At this point, I am very concerned about the overall quality of the service performed and the series of problems that occurred immediately after what should have been a straightforward recall repair.Read more

The car was towed to the nearest Mercedes dealer in Stevens Creek, San Jose Ca. (phone [XXX]) The service advisor at Stevens Creek is named Erica Flores. After 4 days at that dealership, she advised us that they "were unable" to duplicate the problem and that a software fix would have to be addressed by the main shop in Germany. No one knows when the software will be available. We were able to get copies of the repair order, Invoice number XXX. The car was returned to us and we drove back home to Pacific Grove, CA without any other issues. On XXX my wife was once again traveling to [XXX]. At approximately 1:15 pm the car did the exact same thing. Losing power while she was traveling at 65 miles per hour on the busy [XXX]. Again, the computer screen displayed several messages including the braking system, the cooling system and instructed her to turn the car off immediately and not to drive. Sometimes will struggle to turn back on.” These symptoms continued for several years despite multiple dealer visits, battery replacements, electrical diagnostics, and software updates. In late 2025, the starter failed completely and required replacement at a cost of $1,890.25. The failure of the idle stop restart system poses a safety risk, as the vehicle may fail to restart in traffic after stopping at an intersection. Occasionally, my dashboard blacks out while I'm driving. My auto-start doesn't always work, even after the fob batteries have been changed. My gas seems to disappear and I find myself gassing up more often than I should be. I would contact the dealership, they'd coordinate service around my scheduled service dates and claim that they could never find or duplicate the problems that I'm having. The problems continue. My engine light came on while I was driving and stayed on. I was told to bring in my car. The dealership kept it from July-Sept 2025, replacing parts and then returned it to me. Two days later the engine light came back on and I had to return to the dealer again for service. After leaving a parking lot (Jun 2026), two blocks down the street the TAOS began to lose power, the engine light is flashing and the EPC code (engine control malfunction) light lit up. I called VW and they dispatched a tow. My TAOS was towed to Checkered Flag VW. My safety (and others) is at risk because the power loss just happens without warning. If a driver is not paying attention, they could run into the back of me or hit me on the side during a lane change due to the slow movement.Read more

Dear Sir or Madam. My name is [XXX], [XXX], [XXX] living in [XXX]. I bought my 2008 Lexus RX400h car, used, in 2014 at a non-Lexus dealership in the [XXX] where I used to live. My Lexus VIN is: [XXX]. I've been satisfied with the car..until today. The car had been running smoothly forever, and this morning while I was driving I came to a stop (red light) and the car suddenly shut down completely
... , including the loss of lights, and the whole dashboard went dark. Other cars behind me were honking their horns. I could not even turn on the hazard lights. After 1-2 minutes, all of the lights/warnings started coming on one after the other. I started the car again and run around three different errands without having further issues. I checked online to see if other owners had experienced a similar situation, which is the case. One person said that there had been two recalls in 2011 and 2013, both related to the inverter module inside the hybrid system. Although, I called today a Lexus dealership, [XXX], located in [XXX], and I was told there are no recalls for the VIN number that I provided. Another owner said she/he went to a Lexus dealer in [XXX] and she was told it was a defect in the gutter drainage design and that water gets into the hybrid system. This is a dangerous and potentially catastrophic situation if the vehicle suddenly shuts down on a freeway/highway putting passengers in risk of harm, injury, or death. This is a horrific defect which Lexus should correct immediately with a recall before one of us ends up at the cementery. I am glad to know that organizations such as the NHTSA exist, and I will appreciate very much that immediate action is taken on this matter. Sincerely, [XXX]. For a couple of weeks we have been having issues with our 2018 Honda Odyssey's back right door. When you go to open it, something happens where it makes it shut after fully opening. Our resolution for the time was to just push on the door harder and it would continue to slide open. Today, on XXX I was going to put my [XXX] son in his carseat, which is located mid van right side. He snuck infront o
... f me and was standing in the path of the sliding door, it did what it normally does, the same door did not detect his body and began shutting on him. As it was squeezing his shoulders I was pushing back on the sliding door with all my strength, and after a few seconds it opened back up. I'm not sure whether the sensor failed, or it can't detect past a certain height, but either way it was a very scary situation. This had just happened an hour ago, so I haven't reported it to any authorities or anything. I came home and googled how to make a manufacturer report and it lead me here. If I had not been standing behind my son, I believe the door would have continued shutting more, enough to sustain serious injuries if not more. My son physically was okay, aside from a red mark on his upper arm where the door was shutting on him, he did need at least 5 minutes of consoling after, which only happens when something truly hurt him. Turn signal stalk binds up intermittently, requiring excessive force to deactivate signaling. Most commonly occurs after signaling to toward the right. This has been occurring intermittently shortly after vehicle purchase, but has become more common over the past year. Safety is affected due to the amount of force being required having the potential to cause the driver to inadvertently jerk the

Cowl vent grille openings allowed normal environmental debris to accumulate, plug drainage and divert water onto electrical components and potentially result in a fire if not addressed. Some of the debris passes through into the hvac system and cannot be cleaned without dealer removal/repair of the hvac motor, which costs the customer more than $500 in repairs and disincentivizes mitigation. Component: Electrical / Instrument Cluster The vehicle experienced a failure of the digital instrument cluster while driving. The instrument panel intermittently malfunctioned, including going blank, freezing, or failing to display critical information such as vehicle speed, warning indicators, and system alerts. This issue occurred without warning and created a safety concern because the driver
... was unable to reliably monitor essential driving information. At times, the display did not function properly, which impacted the driver’s ability to safely operate the vehicle, especially while in motion. The problem was not consistent and occurred intermittently, making it difficult to anticipate or manage. Restarting the vehicle sometimes temporarily restored functionality. The instrument cluster was later identified as defective and required replacement by Volvo. The failure of this component raises safety concerns due to the loss of critical driver information while operating the vehicle.Read more

My display screen (infotainment) that has almost all the setting to my car on it has been glitching every single time I drive my car. It has what is being described as "ghost touch". It will just flick back and forth between all different settings to my car, turn on and off the radio and go between stations, set destinations on my maps, submitting incidents on my maps, calling my contacts, request
... ing voice commands which lowers the fan speed on my ac and heat when doing so and numerous other settings including how my car locks itself, rear camera setting, audio settings, it is going through everything while driving and while stationary. I believe it is a major hazard, it as startled me so many time by just randomly blasting a radio station while im driving, messing with my navigation on maps while driving, I have been distracted so many times when I should have been focused on the road but instead I am trying to stop it from changing settings, calling people, trying to cancel routes its setting on my maps and ect. The problem is a "known issue" according to the Honda dealership I bought it from and took in to look at for repair. Also I quick Google search of "2022 honda accord sport screen glitching" brings up tons of other people dealing with this same issue and there is apparently no fix for it. Honda said you can buy a new screen but it may still do it since there is no official fix for this. It drives me crazy to even drive this car and I commute to work over a hour and a half on highways with it freaking out the whole way most of the time.Read more
