PRIORITY COMPLAINT: MANUFACTURER RECALL OBSTRUCTION & COERCIVE SAFETY WAIVER INDUCEMENT. My vehicle is actively subject to NHTSA Campaign 26V073 for a severe high-voltage battery defect causing an immediate fire hazard while parked or operating. Because the manufacturer has no immediate remedy available, I filed an administrative buyback request due to the extreme danger of driving the car. Me
... rcedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) has formally blocked my safety relief by deceptively citing irrelevant Florida Lemon Laws, despite the vehicle being legally purchased in Maryland and registered/operated continuously in Virginia. Furthermore, MBUSA is actively attempting to obstruct the safety intent of this NHTSA recall by trying to bribe me with a $5,500 cash payment in exchange for signing a mandatory "Waiver of Rights" liability release. This release legally bars me from pursuing future recall remedies or lawsuits if the battery catches fire. MBUSA has explicitly stated in writing that if I refuse to sign this total liability waiver, they will offer zero further assistance, effectively forcing me to continue operating a known, catastrophic fire hazard on public roads. I request that NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) launch an immediate inquiry into MBUSA for utilizing deceptive out-of-state legal tactics and coercive monetary waivers to suppress safety claims and minimize their financial exposure to Campaign 26V073.Read more

Ford has had this recall open since October of last year. My car has a faulty backup camera that is not working. It’s been 9 months since it came out and there still no forward motion except for mustangs for this recall to be fixed.
Incident date: Nov 29, 2025
The car suddenly lost power and produced error messages on the screen. I had to quickly change lanes to get out of traffic on the highway. My dealer diagnosed the issue as a BECM malfunction and quoted a repair cost of approximately $3500. However, due to my car originally being registered in California, this failure is not covered under GM Special Coverage Bulletin N232432680 (issued March 2024)
... , which provides an extended warranty for BECM issues on affected 2016-2018 Volts up to 15 years or 150,000 miles. My VIN does not qualify for this coverage despite the vehicle being within the model years affected by known BECM soldering/connection failures. This appears to be part of a broader pattern of BECM defects in 2016-2019 Volts that can lead to sudden loss of propulsion, as previously investigated by NHTSA. GM should extend coverage or issue a recall for all affected vehicles, as this defect compromises vehicle safety and leaves owners with expensive out-of-pocket repairs for a known issue.Read more

I am filing a formal complaint regarding two critical manufacturing defects on my 2018 Honda HR-V that pose immediate safety risks and financial losses: 1. CRITICAL SAFETY ISSUE (Instrument Gauge Failure): The digital display gauge on the right side of the driver's dashboard consistently blinks out and displays entirely unreadable, corrupted characters. This failure makes it impossible to monitor
... the fuel gauge or know how much gasoline remains in the vehicle. This defect is highly temperature-dependent, becoming severely worse during colder months. Not being able to read the fuel gauge creates an immediate, dangerous safety hazard, risking sudden, unexpected engine stalling on active highways or getting stranded in hazardous conditions. 2. MANUFACTURING DEFECT (Paint Delamination): The vehicle is exhibiting severe paint peeling and flaking on the roof in four distinct places. The exterior clear coat and base coat are actively separating from the underlying primer due to an inherent manufacturing adhesion failure. The vehicle features the White Orchid Pearl color (Paint Code: NH-788P). American Honda Motor Co. previously acknowledged this exact production defect by issuing a Warranty Extension under Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 19-064, extending coverage for 2016–2018 HR-Vs for 7 years. However, because this premature failure is only now manifesting on my vehicle, Honda Corporate and local dealerships are refusing to cover the thousands of dollars in necessary repair costs, claiming the 7-year window has expired. Limiting the remedy to an arbitrary timeframe for an inherent manufacturing defect leaves consumers with a structurally degrading vehicle (exposure to rust and metal deterioration) & zero recourse. Respectfully request that the Office of Defects Investigation compel American Honda to address the dashboard electrical failures and expand or reopen the remedy for known White Pearl paint peeling defect to ensure consumer safety& manufacturer accountabilityRead more

I lost my low beams about a year ago and also one high beam. Just one month ago that headlight went out also. I have read that there are wiring problems r/t the Pontiac G6. I also had a mechanic spray WD40 under my drivers seat and that made the check engine light go out for several months.Read more

My vehicle has been subject of multiple recalls, however the current recall is a significant one and has been pending for months with no end in sight. I am concerned The manufacturer and dealers are not taking this seriously and the delay is causing additional damage to my vehicle. Additionally quickly googling my vehicle will show that it has fuel pump and acceleration jerking and lag issues that
... are extremely, extremely, common and troubling. I am also still having the service engine soon issues described in recalls and other forums related to throttle cable. Either none of this has been addressed by the manufacturer or the repairs so far have not been sufficient if it is still so common. On behalf of all Stelvio owners I demand these recalls and issues be addressed in a timely manner. This is going to cost us additional grief, safety issues, and repair costs. The biggest being my safety and my family's safety when we are riding in this vehicle, the acceleration issues are very noticeable and are getting worse. The symptoms are -exactly-what is described online and also as part of the recall. I don't even have the option to get it fixed there is no parts to fix available. This is a very nice vehicle, but this is getting old not having repairs done and the dealers running out of parts etc. Waiting months and months for repairs. - Fiat, Alfa Romeo and their dealerships do not seem to be taking this seriously - at all, they should have pride in their products like the owners do when we buy them. I want my Stelvio to be the best it can be, fully safe, and fully functional.Read more

ON JUNE 2ND 2026, the air conditioning in my 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe failed without warning. The system began blowing warm air instead of cold air, making the vehicle uncomfortable to drive. At the same time, I noticed that both front ventilated (cooled) seats had also stopped working. Although the seat cooling indicator lights illuminated when activated, the seats did not produce any cooling. I ca
... lled to schedule an appt and took the vehicle to the dealership for diagnosis and repair on june 4, 2026. The dealership determined that the A/C condenser had failed and replaced it. I was advised that the repair had been completed, and I picked up the vehicle believing the issue had been resolved. Shortly after the repair, it became apparent that the problems had not been fully corrected. While the air conditioning initially appeared to function, the ventilated seats continued to provide no cooling despite appearing to operate normally. This marked the beginning of an ongoing series of HVAC-related failures that ultimately required multiple return visits to the dealership.Read more

-After turning the car on and driving a short distance, the driver dashboard made a warning sound and flashed a warning about my 'ignition system' turning itself off. After that, the entire dash (the speedometer, gas gauge, the infotainment system, the internal climate controls, etc.) went blank. The warning told me to immediately pull the car over and turn it off. Because of this, the car's exter
... nal brake lights and turn signal indicators also do not work. -Because this error is happening while the vehicle is moving and is on the roadway, I am driving blind in traffic without a way to signal lane changes or when I am coming to a stop. -The car has been worked on three separate times (the alternator was replaced twice and the battery once) for this issue, but the issue is still happening. It only happens when the weather gets to be above 80 degrees. -The vehicle was taken to AutoNation Volkswagen on July 6, 2026, and the service worker who I talked to said he's seen similar issues with Volkswagens in his two and a half years that he's worked in the service department (which lines up with the VW recall for other vehicles) after I described the issue to him. He confirmed those cases also happened when the outside temperatures were high. -No, no warning messages were displayed prior to the issue spontaneously happening back in May 2026. The first warning message I got was accompanied by the dashboard going completely black. -There is a VW Safety Recall (VW Campaign 28H7) and a NHTSA Recall (23V604) for the following VW models produced between 2019 - 2020: Golf, Golf AllTrack, Golf GTI, Golf Sportswagen, and the Jetta in the United States. -VW Customer care (called on July 6, 2026) declined to take down my complaint and said they could not enter my VIN to track the error for future recalls because I quote "didn't have a VW Customer Account." They provided me with a case number (#07599604) but I'm not sure anything was logged, and I didn't qualify for 'goodwill'.Read more

Incurable Electrical Nonconformity and Active Safety Hazard Four years ago, I reported a severe electrical integration failure to an authorized Tiffin service center. The vehicle’s aftermarket stereo integration harness back-feeds power into the Mercedes-Benz CAN-bus network, causing erratic flashing of the SOS emergency lighting, mirror puddle lights, and interior dome lights all night long.
... Because Tiffin failed to locate this defect, it created a massive, continuous parasitic draw. This system was so violently miswired that it destroyed three heavy-duty automotive batteries in the first year of ownership alone. In an attempt to resolve the issue, the Mercedes-Benz Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS) was replaced. However, because the underlying Tiffin wiring bridge was never severed, the vehicle's central computing network has been fundamentally corrupted. The vehicle is now locked in a permanent "Limp Home Mode," restricting speed to a dangerously low 28 mph on inclines. Operating a heavy motorhome at 28 mph on a public highway incline is a life-threatening safety hazard that leaves me completely vulnerable to catastrophic rear-end collisions. In addition to the chassis-corrupting CAN-bus defects, the vehicle suffers from a total, systemic failure of its primary living-quarter electrical systems. The factory-installed solar panels have never functioned since the date of purchase. Furthermore, the secondary high-output alternator has suffered a complete mechanical and electrical failure, and the primary electrical outlet has physically charred and melted due to dangerous electrical arcing. The vehicle’s entire electrical infrastructure is fundamentally defective, dangerous, and poses an immediate fire and safety risk to its occupants.Read more

While traveling with my fifth-wheel camper attached, my 2022 Ford F-350 Super Duty (6.7L Power Stroke) suddenly developed a complete no-crank condition. Prior to the failure, the vehicle displayed multiple electrical warnings, including U0100 (Lost Communication with PCM), High Engine Temperature, AdvanceTrac, Blind Spot System Fault, Hill Start Assist, and Pre-Collision Assist warnings. The vehic
... le ultimately became disabled and would not crank or start, leaving me stranded away from home while towing a trailer. Repair Description After troubleshooting the vehicle, I discovered severe internal corrosion inside the under-hood Battery Junction Box (BJB). The corrosion appeared consistent with Ford Technical Service Bulletin 23-2133 regarding moisture intrusion into the Battery Junction Box on certain 2020–2022 Super Duty trucks. I purchased a genuine Ford replacement Battery Junction Box from a Ford dealership and installed it. Immediately after replacement, the vehicle started normally and all warning messages disappeared. I retained the failed Battery Junction Box and have photographs documenting the internal corrosion. Safety Concern My concern is not simply the repair cost but the safety implications of this failure. The vehicle became completely disabled while towing a fifth-wheel trailer during travel. A sudden electrical failure affecting the Battery Junction Box can leave occupants stranded and may create hazardous situations if it occurs in remote locations or during travel. Because Ford has issued a Technical Service Bulletin addressing moisture intrusion into the Battery Junction Box, I believe this condition should be evaluated to determine whether additional action is warranted.Read more

Component/System: Smart Key System / Automatic Door Locking System I own a 2023 Toyota Camry LE equipped with a Smart Key System. I parked the vehicle, turned off the engine, and left the smart key inside the vehicle. My [XXX] child remained securely strapped into a rear child safety seat and was sleeping inside. I briefly stepped outside to wipe dust from the windshield while standing next to
... the vehicle. After the driver’s door closed, the vehicle automatically locked itself with the smart key still inside. I did not intentionally lock the vehicle. I was unable to unlock the doors because the smart key was locked inside the vehicle. My [XXX] child was trapped inside the locked vehicle, creating an emergency situation. To rescue my child, I had no choice but to break the driver’s side window. There were no warning lights or warning messages before the incident. The cause is unknown. The vehicle has not yet been inspected to determine why it automatically locked with the smart key inside. Based on the circumstances, the Smart Key System either failed to detect the smart key or the vehicle improperly allowed the doors to lock despite the key remaining inside. I believe this presents a serious safety risk because it can trap children inside the vehicle. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

We purchased a brand new 2025 Honda Odyyssey in Nov. 2024. Within a couple months of owning our new vehicle we began having issues with the Auto Idle Stop system. The vehicle will not turn back on at random when stopped at any time when driving. This is a huge safety risk as this has often happened while stopped at a light. It’s also happened when in the drive through. Essentially any time stopp

The battery light flashes at times when this happens, but not consistently every time. The screen also shuts off and all power to vehicle until I get it restarted. I have had moments where I thought someone was going to rear end me. This issue occurred three or more times prior to our vehicle being outside the warranty and prior to the mileage being outside the warranty. The dealership has since given us an issue now that we are outside the warranty saying that any repairs now fall on us even though this is a recurring issue. They “attempted several repairs” to which none have fixed the problem. We have spent more time in a rental vehicle and switching back and forth to different vehicles waiting for the vehicle to repaired then any family should deal with a brand new vehicle. We are a family of 7 and in no way have time to be completely jerked around and in a manner that the dealership is now trying to wash their hands of. They essentially promised a resolve till we got outside of our warranty window and now it’s no longer their responsibility. We feel completely strung along as now they informed us we don’t qualify for lemon law even though we absolutely did. We were also informed by Janelle the service manager that our vehicle isn’t made for short trips. We have videos of the vehicle having these moments and we have everything documented through text with the manager and service manager of Honda Checkered Flag.Read more

Randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). ... (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. all change, and many other random settings change as well. ***This is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. I have taken it to the dealer twice, and they say there is nothing they can do and to wait for a possible software update, but none has come and it has been over a year. When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the FCA off lamp). According to various Jeep owner forums, some dealers have been able to reset something and temporarily correct the issue, but they charge for this service, and the issue returns randomly again. Here is an example forum discussion, indicating many if not all vehicles are affected: [XXX] Many people on the forum believe this issue did not start until a software update a year or so ago. This is a well known and widespread problem, and there is even a DOT Bulletin on the issue: dot.report Bulletins Because this is dangerous (for settings/gauges/units to no longer be useful while driving), and it occurs randomly, I strongly believe this issue should be a manufacturer recall. My 2018 Chevrolet Colorado diesel has had repeated diesel emissions/DPF-related failures that cause the vehicle to enter reduced-power or limp mode. This is a safety issue because the truck suddenly loses power and cannot accelerate normally. The most serious incident occurred while driving over Santiam Pass in Oregon. The vehicle went into reduced-power/limp mode on a mountain highway, leaving m
... e unable to maintain normal speed or accelerate safely. I lost power needed to pass traffic and had limited ability to respond to road conditions. The problem has happened several times. It has also occurred while I was towing my boat, which left me unable to continue the trip safely and created a hazardous situation because the truck could not maintain normal towing power. The issue appears related to the diesel particulate filter/emissions system and repeated DPF/regen or exhaust aftertreatment problems. I am concerned that a design, calibration, or emissions-system defect is causing sudden power reduction during normal driving and towing. This creates an unreasonable safety risk, especially on mountain passes, two-lane highways, and while towing. I am requesting that NHTSA review this as a potential safety defect involving the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado diesel DPF/emissions system and reduced-engine-power strategy. I am also requesting that this complaint be considered with any similar complaints, recalls, technical service bulletins, or emissions campaigns related to DPF regeneration, particulate matter sensor diagnostics, reduced engine power, or limp mode on the 2.8L Duramax Chevrolet Colorado.Read more

Defect: On Freightliner Custom Chassis diesel motorhomes the entire instrument cluster is a single all-digital "OptiView" LCD (Medallion 12.3", part 66-02439-000). Safety risk: OptiView puts every primary driving indicator on one screen with no analog backup, so delamination obscures safety-critical information while driving: - Speedometer/tachometer become hard to read on a 30,000-50,000 lb vehicle. - Primary and secondary air-brake pressure gauges and the low-air warning are digital-only; a dropping reservoir or air leak can be masked until the spring brakes apply (FMVSS 121 requires these to stay visible to the driver). - Coolant temp, oil pressure, ABS and brake warnings can be hidden as a fault develops. - The rear/360-degree backup camera view degrades (FMVSS 111 Rear Visibility - the basis for NHTSA Recall 22V281). The failure is progressive and can worsen mid-trip. The manufacturer acknowledges it but calls it cosmetic, quoting about $5,200+ out of warranty for the same failure-prone design. Requested action: Open a defect investigation into OptiView/Medallion cluster delamination across Freightliner Custom Chassis RVs, evaluate under FMVSS 111 and 121, and consider a no-cost recall remedy regardless of warranty status. A detailed report with diagram and citations is attached.Read more

Good Afternoon. The Pro Power Onboard high-voltage electrical system has experienced a permanent malfunction, locking out with a "Ground Fault Detected" warning. The vehicle is a 2021 Ford F-150 Rocky Ridge conversion. This failure stems directly from a defective or incomplete execution of Safety Recall 23S35 (NHTSA Campaign 23V613000).The initial remedy applied by the dealership consisted only o
... f adding protective tape to the rear wiring harness. However, due to the increased travel and ride height of the official Rocky Ridge suspension lift, the wiring harness pulled out of its factory retaining side clip. This caused excessive tension and stretching on the high-voltage lines, completely exposing the bare interior colored wires and leaving them vulnerable to road moisture and friction against the metal frame. The system now triggers a permanent short-to-ground error, creating an imminent risk of an electrical short circuit or vehicle fire under the high-voltage (120V/240V) lines. The Ford dealership and corporate customer care refuse to remedy this recurring safety hazard under the recall warranty because it was previously marked as completed, even though the applied remedy failed to safely secure the harness. The component is available for inspection.Read more

Was driving 70mph on the highway, all instrument cluster speed gauges go to 0mph and I lose ability to manage speed through cruise control. Was driving blind and had no clue what speed I was going and was extremely worried for my safely. Dealership said my instrument cluster has failed, won’t cover under warranty or as a safety issue. Ridiculous a 80k 6 year old car has a main gauge part fail.

The fuel gauge no longer works and the speedometer is inconsistent. The 2021 Murano has a digital spped read out that can be used. The main speedometer can jump around show 45 while running at 73 mph. Or showing 23 when at 33 - so it is clearly a safety issue. This is a low mileage vehicle - with about 18000 miles on it.

When I am stopped at a red light, the auto shutoff is activated, and when I lift off the brake and try to accelerate forward at the green light, the vehicle stalls for about 15 seconds, leaving the driver and passengers vulnerable to a car accident. One of the passenger seatbelts triggers the "no seatbelt" alarm, even when the passenger is buckled. If no one is seated there, there is no alarm. T
... his only happens when someone is seated there. In order to bypass the alarm sound, the passenger has to unbuckle and re-buckle so that the car knows that the passenger is seated. Once the car shifts after a turn or curved road, the alarm will sound again. During an average 20 minute car ride, it'll probably do this 5-6 times, depending on how many turns or curves there are on the route.Read more

In 2018 shottenkirk desert lexus marked two recalls as completed but also simultaneously typed in a note saying "customer declined worked and is out of town" The original part number and quantity fields are left blank. The dealership was paid for these items. I do not have anywhere in the vehicle history after that date showing any recalls were addressed. The recalls are the airbag which is a saf

Finally--once I reported to lexus corporate and the dealer General manager, the GM Matt attempted to offer me a cash settlement and repairs but I must sign a non disclosure. This dealership sold me this vehicle with deferred recall work that was never remedied in 2022. I'm disabled and have a child. This dealerahip is trying to cover up their felonious actions and I am taking the car to another dealership to document what parts are on my car and how to proceed. I have reported to OAG, DMV, AND BAR. IM also filing police report and filing with the district attorney office.Read more
