The vehicle was returned to me after a manufacturer-authorized high-voltage battery replacement that was completed on December 10, 2025. Immediately after pickup, the vehicle began exhibiting safety-related issues. I experienced abnormal and hard steering operation, repeated low coolant warnings, and battery management system (BMS) and electrical warning messages. These warning messages appeared
... immediately after the repair and before the vehicle was driven by me. I returned the vehicle to the dealership multiple times for the same issues. During the final visit, the dealership retained the vehicle for approximately 12 days. After this inspection period, I was informed that the vehicle had underbody damage affecting the coolant system and high-voltage battery and that the damage was likely caused by road debris. The issues began immediately after the battery replacement and involved safety-related systems including steering, coolant, and the high-voltage battery. The vehicle was returned with unresolved warning messages related to these systems. I am concerned that the vehicle was released after a major battery repair in an unsafe condition and that the affected systems may not have been properly inspected or repaired prior to release.Read more

The contact owns a 2015 BMW 528i. The contact stated that while his vehicle was parked, the coolant pump connector caught on fire, which was connected to a after market Coolant pump. The contact stated he originally replaced the coolant pump with an aftermarket one due to a failure, as advised in the recall notice. The vehicle was occupied during the failure. There was grey smoke coming from the engine and inside the vehicle, with flames that were coming from the hood and under the engine. The fire originated specifically within the coolant pump assembly and its associated electrical connector, with the thermal damage concentrated in that area before spreading. While driving, the vehicle displayed a “Stop Safely Now” warning and immediately began limiting operation. Towing was difficult due to the inability to keep the vehicle in neutral. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer, and diagnostics identified a high-voltage isolation fault (DTC P0AA6) traced to the air conditioning compressor on the hybrid system. The component is currently being replaced. The sudden shutdown combined with increased steering effort and inability to safely pull over created a significant safety risk.Read more

I am filing this complaint regarding my 2020 Range Rover Full Size Plug-In Hybrid, which has been inoperable for over three months due to ongoing fault codes and software-related issues. For the last 60+ days, the issue has been repeatedly escalated between the dealer and corporate engineering with no actionable resolution, no repair authorization, and no clear timeline provided. I have even reached out customer relationship center file customer compliant which has not been responded to by LRNA/HQ. My case number is CASE:[XXX] Vehicle Background: •Vehicle would not charge beyond 80%. I scheduled an appointment with the local dealers to inspect. LR: Identified a coolant issue within the high voltage system. oRepair: We were able to get covered by LR per a service bulletin; however, the repair process took over a month. •November Subsequent issue: Check engine light appeared along with a “rotten egg” smell after charging. I returned the vehicle to the dealership. oRepair: LR identified power distribution box resistor out of target range with resistance causing over-charging. This took a month and believe a software issue may have caused this as well as cannot happen on non-plug in. oReplacement of both the power distribution box and battery cost $1,471. •December: Picked up the car and parked it for a week while out of town. The infotainment display on my [2025/2026] Honda CR-V became stuck in an extremely dim state during daylight hours. While the menus, maps, and settings were nearly illegible, the backup camera continued to display at full, normal brightness when shifted into Reverse. I attempted a full system reboot (holding the power/volume knob) and adjusted the physical brightness dial on the instrument cluster
... , but the screen remained locked in the dim state. The system did not return to normal functionality until the vehicle was parked and shut off overnight. This indicates a deep software logic error that resists manual resets and only clears after a prolonged power-down cycle. This failure resulted in a significant safety hazard. The dimness rendered the navigation system unusable, causing extreme driver distraction as I had to take my eyes off the road to attempt to read the screen. The unpredictable nature of this glitch means it could recur at any time, potentially disabling access to critical vehicle safety information or navigation during transit. I performed a manual software reboot and cycled the ignition multiple times, yet the screen remained dim. The hardware clearly had the capacity for full brightness (as evidenced by the backup camera), but the software refused to restore daytime levels for any other function until the car performed a "deep sleep" cycle overnight.Read more

While driving on a public road, the vehicle experienced multiple simultaneous, dangerous malfunctions: Dashboard Warnings: All lights illuminated, including engine (flashing), ABS, traction control, airbag, TPMS, and parking brake, which stayed on though disengaged. Engine & Transmission: Tachometer fluctuated wildly in park; engine revved without accelerator input. Shifting to drive/reverse cau

RPM continued erratically while maintaining speed without accelerator. Steering became extremely difficult. I immediately determined the vehicle was unsafe to drive and returned home with it, which was only a couple miles away. Follow-Up: Hyundai advised dealership diagnosis; they suggested a backup camera module will resolve the issues I experienced in entirety, but also in the same email stated that they could not guarantee it would resolve all of the issues I experienced. This is the second major engine/powertrain failure: first approximately ~70,000 miles (full engine replacement), current approximately ~95,000 miles (approximately ~25,000 miles post-replacement). Recurrence indicates a serious, unresolved safety defect. I am deeply concerned for passenger safety, including children. Other owners report similar issues; the attorney general’s office advised reporting to NHTSA. Summary of Safety Risks: sudden loss of control/power, erratic acceleration, dashboard failures, steering resistance, unpredictable handling, recurrence of major defect. I am submitting this report to NHTSA to request investigation of these recurring defects. I do have video documentation of all of this, as well as ALL written communication with Hyundai National Consumer Affairs and the dealership. Additionally, a mechanic identified indicators consistent with prior flood damage that were not disclosed at the time of sale. I acted in good faith and relied on representations made during the sale, including the use of the business name RideTime LLC. Once the discrepancies were confirmed, I immediately ceased any attempt to sell or transfer the vehicle and am reporting the matter for investigation and guidance on proper resolution.Read more
