What happened? We own a 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S (EV). Since delivery, the software has been unpredictable and dangerous. On day one (18 miles), delivery was delayed for a frunk latch failure requiring a total factory computer reset. The most terrifying event was when the brake and gas pedals "swapped" actions while my husband was driving our three sons. The car sped up when braking and stopped when
... hitting the gas. The vehicle has also "bricked" (lost all propulsion) twice in traffic with zero warning, nearly causing collisions. Charging fails frequently; it once sat for 12 hours with zero charge gained despite "green" indicators. We deal with constant "ghost" issues: the car jolts unexpectedly, the "Creep" setting glitches (causing it to roll into traffic or roll backward on hills), and the parking brake slams on by itself while reversing. Recently, the backup camera went black while backing out, and sensors beeped at phantom objects. The power trunk even closed on its own, nearly hitting my head. Other failures include McIntosh audio failure, door lock malfunctions, and Uconnect/Wi-Fi errors. Safety Risk: Our family is at constant risk. Between pedals malfunctioning, dying in traffic, and unpredictable movement, this EV is a major hazard to us and other drivers. Dealer/Technical Info: Prestige Jeep has seen the car 8+ times, once for 45 consecutive days. Dealers often "cannot duplicate" because glitches clear on restart, but they return. These symptoms align with STAR Case S2508000058 (unintended torque) and TSB 08-077-25 (IDCM/electrical shutdowns). Components are available for inspection. Warnings: Symptoms began at 18 miles. We frequently see a "Red Wrench," "Red Turtle" (Limited Speed), and "Service Park Brake" messages. Frequent software failures make this vehicle unsafe for the road.Read more

The vehicle has experienced ongoing and unresolved issues despite multiple service visits. The primary concern is excessive engine vibration. It shakes concerningly when backed into a driveway at an incline and placed in park. This occurs while the vehicle is stationary and idling. The issue has been reproduced and acknowledged by a dealership service advisor during a test drive, who stated the v
... ibration was excessive and concerning. However, no repair was completed, and no clear diagnosis has been provided. The vehicle has also displayed repeated error messages with no confirmed cause, ongoing Bluetooth connectivity issues even after system updates and resets, and a malfunctioning forward collision warning system. Prior repair attempts include replacement of the backup camera, center console, and exterior windshield trim. The windshield trim repair was incomplete, as only the middle section was replaced while the remaining components were not, resulting in a mismatched and unresolved condition. No service documentation was provided for the most recent visit despite being advised that updated findings would be sent. These issues have persisted across multiple service attempts and remain unresolved. The engine vibration and malfunctioning safety systems raise safety and reliability concerns, including the potential for reduced driver awareness and increased risk of a collision.Read more

“My 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 is subject to NHTSA recall 26V073 involving a high-voltage battery defect that may cause a fire. The recall letter advised that for the time being, I should set software to limit charge to 80%. The car is noncompliant with the prescribed settings. If there is a danger to having settings no prescribed, I am in danger. I did set the settings in the car and in the Android app to 80%. Sometimes the 80% limit is respected, but often it charges to 100%. Even though the Android app always reports
... the setting as 80%. the car sometimes doesn't comply. I only charge in my garage, in the same spot, using a Level 2 charger. The recall letter also advised that the drive mode should be set to "Auto EV." But the Corsair does not have a setting called "Auto EV." Vehicle experienced white exhaust smoke due to oil entering the exhaust system, caused by turbocharger failure. This led to contamination and failure of all O2 sensors, requiring full replacement, along with replacement of both turbochargers. The radiator also failed and had to be replaced. This appears to be a cascading mechanical failure affecting multiple major systems, including the engine, f
... uel/propulsion system, and electrical components, rather than normal wear and tear. The failure rendered the vehicle inoperable, leaving me without transportation during a period of financial hardship. The severity and extent of repairs raise concern about a potential broader defect. This also created a safety concern due to excessive exhaust smoke and reduced vehicle reliability while in operation.Read more

I am reporting unresolved safety recalls and unreasonable delay in repair for my 2023 Ford Bronco (VIN: [XXX] ). This vehicle currently has two open safety recalls issued by Ford Motor Company • NHTSA Recall 25V721 (issued October 2025) – seat frame defect that may increase injury risk in a crash. There is currently no available remedy, and Ford has notified me that a repair is
... not expected until April 2027. • NHTSA Recall 26V124 (issued March 2026) – APIM defect that may overheat and cause the rearview camera to fail while reversing, increasing crash risk. In addition, this vehicle has had prior recalls (25V025 and 25V273) that remained unresolved for extended periods. One of these recalls had no available repair for approximately 10 months. These recalls affect critical safety systems including suspension, rear visibility, and seat safety. The delay for Recall 25V721 is expected to exceed 18 months, which I believe is an unreasonable delay for a safety recall repair. Ford has continued issuing new recalls while prior recalls were still unresolved, indicating a pattern of repeated safety defects and delayed remedies. Due to these active recalls, I have been unable to use my vehicle commercially. Rental platforms such as Turo prohibit listing vehicles with open safety recalls. This has resulted in financial losses exceeding $80,000. This situation forces consumers to choose between operating a vehicle with known safety defects or suffering significant financial loss due to lack of repair availability. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether Ford is complying with its obligation to provide timely safety recall remedies and whether delays of this length are reasonable. . I bought this truck for my husband as a birthday present & it has been a nightmare. My husband is a [XXX] & I wanted a vehicle that he would be comfortable in to take him to his numerous medical appointments. The first indication was the check engine light came on. I took to to O'Reillys & they scanned the vehicle & no issue was detected. I then had several instances where the vehicle would not
... start & one instance when it would not go into reverse & the truck was making a noise from the underbody. The windshield washer unit also was not working. I then took it back to the Ford dealership where it was purchased. They ran a scan at the dealership & said there was nothing wrong. They then indicated that I should take it to a Chevy dealer which I did. They stated that Chevy has a special scan that the previous scans cannot access. I documented all the issues and the Chevy dealership found 8 issues including the transmission, holes in the struts, software issues, washer pump, grille shutter & loose battery cables. The Ford dealership agreed to fix the struts & the washer pump as well as the diagnostic testing. I thought we were going to be able to resolve the transmission and the grille shutter issue but that has not happened. The defective grille shutter is what is activating the check engine light. The Ford dealership charged me for fixing the battery cables and yet they were needed to be done again. They also told me that the grille shutter was not necessary as I could drive with it but I would never know when I had an actual problem. They wanted to replace the torque converter. I submitted a request to Carvana & they offered me 5,000 and I paid double that plus. I don't feel safe driving the vehicle and GM is well aware of the issues with this make and Model. On [XXX] at approximately [XXX] PDT, a 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV 450+ caught fire at an intersection in Irvine, California. The vehicle was being driven normally. It was NOT charging. It was NOT in a collision. It was stopped at the intersection when the fire began. There was no warning. Four occupants were inside: the driver (age [XXX] ), two minor children (ages [XXX] and [XXX] ), and one eld
... erly passenger (age [XXX] ). All four escaped, but narrowly — the rear child safety locks barely released in time for the children to exit. The vehicle sustained catastrophic cabin burn-through and is a total loss. Smoke and flames appeared to originate from beneath the vehicle, consistent with a thermal event in the under-floor high-voltage lithium-ion battery pack, pending expert investigation. This vehicle is within the population of NHTSA Recall 24V-372 (Mercedes-Benz battery management system software defect, 14,912 2023-2025 EQE/EQS units, including 551 units of the 2024 EQS SUV 450+). Mercedes documented in its Part 573 report that it received field reports of this defect in October 2023 and waited approximately seven months before filing the recall. Mercedes acknowledged fire risk in the EQS platform in NHTSA Recall 24V-115, stating "a risk of fire cannot be ruled out." In February 2026, Recall 26V-073 ordered full battery replacement in EQB vehicles after Mercedes admitted prior software remedies were failed remedies. On [XXX], a Mercedes EQE caught fire spontaneously in a parking garage in Incheon, South Korea while parked and not charging, damaging 140 vehicles. The fire in this vehicle occurred at zero mph with two young children and an elderly grandmother trapped behind child-locked rear doors. The fire department and police responded. The vehicle is preserved pending expert inspection. I request NHTSA ODI open a formal investigation into spontaneous battery fire risk in the Mercedes EQ platform. On [XXX], my 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 experienced a sudden and complete failure of the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU). The failure rendered the vehicle inoperable without warning, requiring it to be towed to a dealership. The vehicle is currently located at AutoNation Hyundai in North Richland Hills, TX and should be available for inspection upon request. This failure created a significant s
... afety risk. The vehicle lost functionality unexpectedly, which could have resulted in a dangerous situation if it had occurred at highway speeds, in traffic, or in an unsafe location. A sudden loss of power or inability to restart the vehicle presents a clear hazard to both the driver and others on the road. Prior to the failure, there were no clear warnings indicating an imminent critical issue. A 12V battery issue was suspected at the time of failure, and roadside assistance replaced the battery, but this did not resolve the problem. The root cause was later identified as an ICCU failure. The problem has been confirmed by an authorized Hyundai dealership (AutoNation Hyundai, North Richland Hills, TX) on April 10, 2026. The dealership determined that the ICCU requires replacement, with an estimated minimum repair timeline of four weeks due to part availability. The vehicle has been inspected by Hyundai roadside assistance and an authorized Hyundai dealer. No inspection has been conducted yet by the manufacturer directly, law enforcement, or insurance representatives. This issue appears to be consistent with widely reported ICCU failures in Hyundai Ioniq 5 vehicles, suggesting a potential systemic defect that may warrant further investigation and possible recall action. I have the video BUT I AM UNSURE how to upload or share Incident Description: The vehicle is experiencing intermittent, complete engine stalls while in motion at highway speeds. The failure has occurred four times. Initial Symptom: The issue first manifested as "stuttering" and erratic behavior from the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) which I thought it was. Escalation: The vehicle has
... since progressed to a total loss of power. During these incidents, I was forced to pull over on high-speed corridors (Hwy 46 and Hwy 5) to restart the vehicle. Recurring Pattern: Most recently, after a stall and restart, the vehicle stalled again within a few blocks. I have captured video evidence of the stall occurring immediately after the vehicle was "reset" and put back into motion. Safety Concern: This is a life-threatening defect. The vehicle loses propulsion without warning in high-speed traffic. The manufacturer’s service department (Hyundai) has been unable to identify a diagnostic fault code, citing "No Problem Found," and has only attempted a software/values reset, which has failed to correct the physical stalling.Read more

On April 9, 2026, my daughter came in from school and parked her Honda Pilot at about 5:10PM. At about 7:03PM, my wife and I were sitting outside and heard a loud POP, it sounded like a car backfiring. I went to investigate and saw a little smoke and a small orange glowing piece of something on the ground under the vehicle towards the front of the vehicle. I grab a fire extinguisher from my work
... truck and went towards the vehicle. The car was locked and I saw flames under the hood standing by the driver door looking down where the windshield wipers are. I used the extinguisher till it was empty and the flames kept getting worse. I just walked away and my wife was already calling 911. No one was hurt no damage to any exposures. My daughter did not indicate that anything was wrong with the vehicle. No lights on, no smells, everything ran fine. It had 154,000 miles on it. I do have RING video footage of the event. I did file a claim with my insurance and sent them the video footage.Read more

Since January 15, 2026, our Honda Odyssey has experienced a persistent and unresolved infotainment system failure affecting critical functions, including the rear-view camera. The issue has been reported across three separate service visits (January 15, March 6, and March 26, 2026), during which attempted repairs—including wiring adjustments, battery replacement, and amplifier replacement—fail
... ed to resolve the malfunction. Despite escalating to a regional Honda engineer and multiple dealership interventions, the system remains inoperable, and the defect continues to immediately reoccur after each repair attempt. As of April 12, 2026, the vehicle’s infotainment system and rear-view camera are completely non-functional. The issue has persisted for 87 days, resulting in loss of use of key vehicle functions and raising significant safety concerns due to the inoperability of the federally mandated rearview camera (FMVSS 111). The repeated unsuccessful repair attempts and extended delay have led to the conclusion that the vehicle is currently unsafe to operate and has not been restored to a usable condition within a reasonable timeframe.Read more

The high-voltage battery cells in my vehicle, supplied by Farasis Energy, are prone to internal short circuits that can cause thermal runaway and vehicle fire. This defect poses a serious risk of fire while the vehicle is parked or in operation. Mercedes-Benz USA has acknowledged this defect through three separate recall campaigns (25V050, 25V894, and 26V073). The first two remedies — software u

Mercedes-Benz subsequently committed to full battery replacement as the only effective fix, but has not made repair scheduling available until approximately December 30, 2026. In the interim, Mercedes-Benz has instructed owners to: (1) park and charge exclusively outdoors, (2) limit charging to 80% of battery capacity. These extraordinary restrictions confirm that the vehicle remains a fire risk and is currently unfit for safe normal use.Read more
