My 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan has repeatedly experienced a complete loss of motive power while driving in active traffic. The engine stalls without warning, forcing me to perform a manual reset in the middle of the road. The vehicle also has a severe defect where it independently engages the electronic parking brake or shifts itself into Park during low-speed or turning maneuvers. This happens without
... any driver input and results in the car "slamming" to a violent stop. My safety and my baby’s safety are put at risk every time I start this car. The engine has stalled multiple times while I was in the middle of busy traffic, leaving us a "sitting duck" for a rear-end collision. There is no warning; the power just cuts out, and I’m left stranded trying to restart the car while other drivers swerve around us. When the car slams on the brakes or shifts itself into Park while I’m moving, it feels like the car is fighting me for control. I can’t trust the vehicle to stay moving when it’s supposed to or stay in gear when I’m merging. It is a life-threatening defect that makes the car completely undrivable. Yes, the vehicle has been inspected twice by the authorized manufacturer dealership, Pacific Volkswagen. They have documented the safety issues on Repair Orders #[XXX] and #[XXX]. During these inspections, the service department confirmed that the vehicle is unsafe to drive, yet they stated they could not find a diagnostic "code" to provide a permanent fix. No warning lamps or error messages appeared prior to the engine stalling in traffic. The loss of power is sudden and total. The only symptom that appeared was during parking maneuvers, where the dashboard would occasionally display "Sensor Restricted" followed by the car independently shifting into Park or slamming on the brakes. These symptoms first appeared in March 2026, within the first 970 miles of operation. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Vehicle: 2019 Chevrolet Traverse Issue: “Shift to Park” warning – vehicle fails to recognize it is in Park I am filing a complaint regarding a persistent &dangerous defect with my 2019 Chevrolet Traverse involving the “Shift to Park” warning system. For the past several years, my vehicle has repeatedly failed to recognize that it is in Park, even when it clearly is. This issue has escal
... ated into a serious safety and reliability concern. Most recently, I was stranded in a store parking lot for over two hours because my vehicle would not properly shut off or restart due to the false “Shift to Park” warning. I had to call someone to disconnect the battery to prevent it from draining completely, which caused additional cost and inconvenience. After reconnecting the battery, the vehicle still would not start for another 2hours. This defect leaves me at risk of being stranded at any time, including in unsafe or isolated. As a single parent of 4 young children, this creates a significant safety concern for my family. This problem has been ongoing since Oct 2023 and has occurred repeatedly since then, and consistently every month since then, often four or more times per month. I have brought this issue to a Chevrolet dealership, Reed-Lallier Chevrolet in Fayetteville, NC, multiple times. Despite being charged diagnostic fees, no permanent fix has been provided. This is a known issue with this vehicle model related to a faulty shifter assembly or park detection system. This defect impacts the vehicle’s ability to shut off, restart, & function reliably, creating a serious safety hazard. I am requesting that this issue be formally investigated & that appropriate action be taken to require a recall or manufacturer-covered repair. This problem is widespread among similar vehicles & should not continue to leave drivers stranded or at risk. On April 13, 2026, I brought my 2019 Honda Odyssey to a Honda dealership in Chicago, IL for a dealer-initiated recall service. The dealer contacted me and asked me to come in. Before the recall service, the vehicle had zero warning lights, zero error codes, and was operating completely normally. Immediately after the recall service was completed, the following warning lights appeared on the dashbo
... ard: Brake System warning, Hill Start Assist Problem, VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) warning, and additional stability/steering system warnings. None of these warnings existed before the service. I returned to the dealership the same day. The service team cleared all error codes. However, within minutes of driving off the lot, all warning lights reappeared. This confirms the issue is persistent and not a one-time post-update self-check. I returned a second time. The service manager stated the warnings were not caused by the recall service and refused to investigate further. The dealer quoted $800 for diagnostic work. I also contacted American Honda by phone and was told they could not intervene. With the Brake System and VSA warnings active, the anti-lock braking system and vehicle stability control may not be functioning properly. This puts me and other drivers at risk, especially in emergency braking situations and on slippery roads. This pattern of multiple safety warnings appearing immediately after recall service on 2019 Honda Odysseys has been reported by other owners. The vehicle and its warning lights are available for inspection upon request.Read more

They called to check on my welfare as, unbeknownst to me, the vehicle sent out an alert as a result of the incident. 12/30/2023, I took the vehicle to BMW of San Diego (where I leased the car from) regarding the above mentioned incident as well as repeated Drivetrain Malfunction warnings. The vehicle had 43,770 miles on it. By 1/12/2024, the dealership informed me they could not replicate the problem, and what I found most alarming, was they could find no evidence that it ever happened. I asked if they could promise me it would not happen again, they could not. This caused me great fear for myself and for others. All they could offer was that I could file a claim with BMW of North America, which I did that same day. It was not until 3/19/2024 that BMW notified me they rejected my claim. Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wagoneer (Base Model) The vehicle has experienced ongoing and progressively worsening engine performance failures, specifically involving unstable RPM behavior and loss of power during idle and re-acceleration from idle. These defects have been present on multiple occasions and occur under normal operating conditions. While stopped at traffic signals or intersections, the vehic
... le frequently exhibits sudden and erratic RPM fluctuations, followed by a sharp drop in engine speed resulting in complete engine shutdown. These shutdown events have occurred both while the vehicle is in Park and while actively positioned in traffic, creating a hazardous condition. In several instances, the engine stalled unexpectedly while the vehicle was stopped at a red light, requiring an immediate restart in an active traffic environment. In addition, when transitioning from an idle state to acceleration, the vehicle has demonstrated abrupt surging and jerking behavior, causing sudden forward movement. This creates a significant risk of unintended acceleration and near-collision events, particularly in congested traffic conditions or when stopped closely behind another vehicle. The vehicle was presented to an authorized Jeep dealership for inspection. The dealership advised that no diagnostic fault codes were present and no defect could be identified. However, during the dealer’s evaluation, the vehicle did stall while being allowed to roll into the service bay in an idle state, directly corroborating the reported condition. Despite this occurrence, no corrective repair was made, and the vehicle was returned without resolution. The frequency and severity of these symptoms have increased over time, resulting in a vehicle that is unreliable and unsafe to operate. The continued occurrence of engine shutdowns and erratic acceleration behavior presents a clear and ongoing safety risk to the driver, passengers, and surrounding motorists.Read more

... iving on a highway. I immediately tried to get it to the shoulder but it lost momentum and stopped in the lane, with cars and semis coming around a blind corner at speed. It was a harrowing experience, the car started to roll backwards (on a slight incline, as it was a mountain pass) and a semi truck had to assist in stopping the vehicle by skillfully, using his trailer to stop the vehicle. This created body damage to the entire side of my vehicle. The car then locked up completely, wheels were locked and tow truck had to drag it with a chain up on the bed. My son and I could have been killed, as traffic was coming around the bend at 60-65 mph and we were completely stopped and started rolling back towards the oncoming traffic. Several others could have been injured as my vehicle could have cause a major traffic collision. The issue has been reported to Jaguar Landrover customer service, reported to the dealership I bought the vehicle from and to the dealership who told me that it could help to drive the vehicle to charge the battery. The dealer where I towed the vehicle confirmed it was the DC to DC converter failure, confirmed that it fried or short-circuited both batteries which then caused the car to lose all power. The failure was confirmed by certified mechanics, and approved by an inspector for the extended warranty and repairs were made. There was an electrical fault warning on screen. One dealer told me to drive it to charge battery. This vehicle should be recalled to avoid safety issues.Read more

The engine coolant temperature sensor has failed on my 2019 GMC Canyon. The check engine light is illuminated, the temperature gauge does not register correctly, the air conditioning has been disabled by the vehicle's computer, and the engine cooling fan continues to run after the engine is turned off. These symptoms are consistent with the vehicle entering fail-safe mode due to loss of a valid co

The mechanic attempted to source a replacement part through GMC but was informed the part was unavailable. The reason for the parts unavailability is unknown, though in his experience, it typically means that the manufacturer is stocking up and preparing for a recall This issue appears to be widespread across 2017–2020 GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado V6 trucks based on extensive owner forum documentation. The safety concern is significant: without reliable coolant temperature monitoring, there is no assurance the engine is operating within safe thermal limits, and the driver has no warning if overheating occurs. I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding my 2021 Kia Sorento and the repeated lack of resolution from the dealership where the vehicle was purchased and serviced. I have taken my vehicle to the dealership multiple times to address ongoing and serious safety concerns. Despite having active warranties on the transmission and powertrain, I have continually been told that there is nothing t

The vehicle is experiencing persistent issues, including: The transmission jerking and jarring when shifting gears The dashboard and center display screen intermittently go completely black while driving These issues do not occur constantly, but they happen frequently enough to pose a significant safety risk. I regularly have my grandchildren in the vehicle, and their safety, as well as my own, is my highest priority. Each time I have contacted the dealership to report these problems, I have been met with excuses and resistance to even scheduling an appointment.
