The heater on our 4 x e stopped working and would not defrost front window or heat the car in sub zero weather we have been having lately. I have had this car in 2 times already for the same issue. The Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) and High Voltage Fuse failed twice within 100 miles, causing a total loss of motive power while driving. The first failure occurred on Jan 24, 2026 (13,954 miles), and the second on Feb 2, 2026 (approx. 14,000 miles), immediately after the first repair attempt. In both instances, the 12V charging system failed, severing connection to the high-voltage bat
... tery and forcing the vehicle into a "limp mode" with reduced speed and steering loss in active traffic, creating a severe collision risk. The first authorized manufacturer technician stated that the issue was with the 12v battery and not the ICCU, however the second dealership confirmed that the issue was the ICCU all along, resulting in 17 days out of service. Symptoms included a loud "pop" followed by "Check Electric Vehicle System," "Stop Vehicle and Check Power Supply," and 12V battery warnings. This complaint involves a 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L Series III, a full-size luxury SUV. The vehicle has experienced repeated electrical and powertrain failures culminating in complete loss of propulsion. On 01/22/2026, while traveling approximately 45–50 mph, the vehicle abruptly shut down without warning. The engine lost power, dashboard displays went black, and multiple warning lights illumi
... nated simultaneously. I was forced to steer to the shoulder while a trailing vehicle had to swerve off the roadway to avoid a collision. This was a near-miss event and represents a serious safety hazard involving sudden loss of motive power at highway speed. Prior to that event, the vehicle had already stalled at a traffic light and had exhibited repeated check engine warnings, low-voltage faults, and module communication errors. The servicing dealer documented multiple diagnostic trouble codes affecting the Body Control Module (BCM), Ignition System Control Module (ISCM), and Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Manufacturer technical service bulletin software updates were applied in attempts to correct the issue. Despite these interventions, the electrical instability persisted. On 02/12/2026, only days after an auxiliary battery replacement intended to address voltage concerns, the vehicle would not start and required towing to the dealership at my expense. Additional fault codes are currently under review. The vehicle is also subject to an open recall with no remedy available, and the power running board motor has failed with replacement parts unavailable. This pattern of electrical failure, sudden shutdown in motion, and inability to reliably start presents an ongoing and unacceptable safety risk to occupants and surrounding motorists. The vehicle is available for inspection and has been repeatedly evaluated by an authorized dealer.Read more

The slider doors and back/trunk hatch have many electrical malfunctions. -Driver-side sliding door: After we press the button to open the door, the door often begins closing on our kids as soon as it has fully opened. When I press the button to open it again, it will start closing again immediately. Sometimes this process repeats 2-3 times before it stays open and our children can exit th

The car had just been disconnected from a hardwired Chargepoint Home Flex 11.5 kw 48A Level 2 home charger with a NACS connecter (so no adapters used), though the charging had mainly ended at approximately 5:
... 24 am that same morning (after reaching the preset charging limit of 80% of battery capacity, I believe). That charging session provided 45.572 kWh of energy over approximately 4.5 hours and then the vehicle sat, still plugged in, for approximately 12 more hours until disconnected to drive it. After driving approximately 1-2 minutes on residential streets, I heard a muffled 'pop' sound behind the front seats, and the vehicle dashboard suddenly showed 'check electrical vehicle system' and 'stop vehicle and check power supply'. The vehicle suddenly had limited capabilities, including speed, and at that point gave a limited, unspecified, amount of time to get off of the road to safety. The vehicle is currently with a Hyundai dealer (Hyundai of 110 in Farmingdale, NY) who has since confirmed it was an ICCU failure. They are waiting on a new ICCU, which is on back order. At approximately 10pm on Saturday night with temps in the single digits and a large snowstorm (that would cripple much of the US for several days) just about to hit, the 1.5 year old vehicle failed completely. Propulsion battery 81% charged, started normally, then gave "check electrical system" warning which upon search can be due to a low 12v battery; call AAA and spouse (live 2hrs away). Began
... to drive towards a station two blocks away, thinking plugging in may help system warm and/or recharge 12v battery. Car goes into limp mode on road, then dies in four-lane road. Use portable battery jumper, draining it into the 12v battery and able to limp-mode out of traffic and into Walmart parking lot entrance where dies again. With bystander help, push the vehicle across parking lot to chargers; vehicle in total electrical failure w/random lights flashing (tail, dash, etc.) and no command-functions (couldn't shift into park, open charging port). Charged 12v battery from an ICE car 30 minutes w/restoration of command function, but nothing more than limp mode. AAA still hours ETA. Personally swap 12v battery purchased from Walmart w/restoration of power, but abnormal function (lane assist forcing wheel, menus malfunctioning) & warnings remaining. Drive vehicle to -thankfully- nearby dealership before another failure. Abandon vehicle & wait for pickup by spouse, drive last hour in a snowstorm. Very lucky I wasn't stranded on the highway, hit and killed in a snowstorm. Very lucky I wasn't hit and killed in the road where it died. Very lucky I called for help early, wasn't stranded more than 20 minutes in dangerous-cold, didn't wreck in snowstorm getting home. Beginning in July–August 2025, my 2019 BMW X3 (VIN [XXX] ) began experiencing multiple safety‑critical system failures affecting federally regulated components. The rearview camera intermittently failed to activate and later stopped functioning entirely, resulting in loss of rear visibility required under FMVSS 111. The Emergency Call (eCall) system displayed repeated malfunction warnings, ind
... icating loss of automatic crash notification capability. The vehicle also displayed “Driver Assistance Restricted,” “Collision Warning Malfunction,” and pedestrian detection failure messages, showing that forward collision warning and related ADAS functions were not operating properly. During the same period, the telematics control unit (TCU) lost functionality. This caused loss of ConnectedDrive services, backend communication, remote diagnostics, remote status reporting, and safety‑related over‑the‑air updates. These failures match known BMW defect patterns involving water intrusion into the antenna/telematics module and backend provisioning issues. I submitted a detailed written escalation to BMW of North America. BMW issued two brief responses on February 11–12, 2026 that did not address any of the safety issues, did not provide the engineering basis for excluding my VIN from the applicable recall, and redirected me to a dealer, which has no authority over recall determinations. BMW closed the case without providing any investigation results, defect determination, or technical explanation, contrary to obligations under 49 CFR § 573. These failures materially impair federally regulated safety functions, including rear visibility, collision avoidance, emergency crash notification, and telematics‑based safety communication. The pattern suggests a potential broader defect affecting additional vehicles. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I found the "burned/overheated terminals" comment to be alarming. I looked into this matter further and found a GM Service Bulletin (21-NA-006) from October 2022. This bulletin identified this issue which contained an image showing burned/overheated terminals. The identified cause within the bulletin states "This condition may be caused by a poor connection at the Emission Reduction Fluid Tank electrical connector."
