I lease a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 AWD. Prior to a planned trip, the vehicle displayed an electrical system warning. I contacted the dealership and was advised to bring it in. While driving approximately 5 miles to the dealership, the vehicle lost all power including hazard lights, leaving me stranded on a busy road. I contacted roadside assistance and the vehicle was towed to the dealership. The deal
... ership confirmed the failure was caused by the ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit). The repair took approximately two weeks. The vehicle was unavailable during this time, requiring a rental car. Hyundai partially reimbursed rental costs but did not compensate for other losses incurred. The ICCU failure is a known widespread issue affecting the entire Hyundai/Kia E-GMP platform across multiple models and model years. A dedicated owner community tracking these failures can be found at [XXX] . The sudden and complete loss of vehicle power including safety systems such as hazard lights while in traffic represents a significant safety risk to the driver and other road users. Hello, I am having issues with the infotainment system on my accord. It is suffering from the ghost touch issue. When this happens the car constantly makes an alert beep and then randomly starts going through the menus on the system. Here are a few of the issues that can result. Navigation changes or setting change, radio can change or even turn on or off or change inputs, the cars setting can cha
... nge, it can start calls to any of your contacts including emergency #s. The only way to stop this from happening is to turn off the screen. However if the radio is on, you can not turn it off. This results in the driver constantly having to divert their attention to the radio /infotainment system from the road. It is extremely distracting and very unsafe. This is a known issue and there is no active recall. As far as I can tell this has not been fixed in replacements, simply a new version of the same radio is put into the car. I would expect that this has or will create accidents if is nor recalled. As these cars age, this will get worse for all of them. I did reach out to honda and they informed me there is no recall. Please help keep people on the road safe!Read more

On April 27, 2026, I attempted to start my 2022 Ram under normal conditions. The vehicle became stuck in an abnormal ignition state between on and off and would not function properly. Shortly after, the vehicle began exhibiting erratic electrical behavior, including the power windows moving up and down on their own without input. At the same time, I lost control of the vehicle. The power steering
... locked, and I was unable to turn the wheel. The brake pedal also locked and could not be pressed. I attempted multiple times to shut the vehicle off using the push-button ignition, but it would only make a loud clicking sound and would not power down. The electrical system remained active and unresponsive. I also noticed a strong sulfur-like odor coming from the vehicle, consistent with a possible battery or electrical failure. Due to the loss of control, electrical malfunction, and odor, I determined the vehicle was unsafe to operate. AAA roadside assistance was called. The driver (Paul “Willie” from the Thunderbird office) also attempted to shut the vehicle off but was unsuccessful. He noted the sulfur smell and stated it appeared to be an electrical issue. Because the vehicle could not be placed in neutral, he used a screwdriver to access the manual panel and pull the neutral release cord to allow towing. The vehicle was towed to the dealership. Upon arrival, the key fob was taken into the office, but the truck remained running in the parking lot without the key fob present. This failure occurred without warning and represents a serious safety concern due to loss of steering, braking, and inability to shut off the vehicle. The vehicle is used by my family, and I do not feel it is safe to operate until the issue is fully diagnosed and repaired.Read more

This hasn't caused an accident or stranded me yet, but Ford won't do anything to help me avoid danger in the faulty vehicle they sold. There have been several recalls on my 2022 Ford Escape PHEV over the past year or so, including safety recalls. The number of recalls, requiring me to take the time to deal with scheduling, drop off/pickup the car, and being unable to use the car when it is in the
... shop for the recall rectifications seems excessive. Worse yet, they have safety related recalls from 2025 that still do not have a fix. I do not feel safe in my car. I went through the company's lemon recall process and they refused to repurchase the vehicle. People should expect a basic level of quality and definitely safety when buying a car. I will never buy another Ford and would never recommend that anyone else do so. This company no longer represents quality and they don't even care to try.Read more

This vehicle has suffered from persistent, substantial, and uncorrected defects, including but not limited to failures in the 48V mild-hybrid electrical system, lithium-ion battery system, DC/DC converter and coolant system. These defects have substantially impaired the vehicle’s use, value and safety as well as my safety, and remain unresolved despite multiple repair attempts at two separate au
... thorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships in St. Louis, MO. SUMMARY OF DEFECTS •Multiple 48 V battery failures and replacements •Multiple replacements of DC/DC converters and failures •Multiple Coolant System failures •Sudden vehicle shutdowns while driving •Numerous non-start issues •Numerous red warning alerts related to the 48 V system •Multiple towing incidents (One involving the police) Despite extensive repair attempts, including replacement of major components, this vehicle continues to fail and is currently still at Mercedes-Benz of St. Louis unrepaired. These repeated repair failures demonstrate the vehicle cannot be repaired to conform with warranty standards. SAFETY INCIDENT My most recent safety incident: On March 10, 2026, this vehicle shut down in the middle of a busy multi-lane roadway, requiring police assistance and emergency towing due to the safety hazard presented. The vehicle has remained in possession of Mercedes-Benz St. Louis since that date (over 45 days) and remains inoperable and unrepaired. This vehicle had also been towed to Plaza Motors two additional times for the same reasons and was there for many days adding to this amount (See attachments). MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS/FAILED REPAIRS The vehicle has been serviced by both: *Plaza Motor Compay, St. Louis *Mercedes-Benz of St. Louis Despite independent repair attempts by both authorized dealerships, the same defects persist. This confirms that the issue is inherent to the vehicle itself, not a service related issue.Read more

2022 Ioniq 5 SE. ICCU failed April 2026 with around 29325 miles. Original owner. Purchased June 2022. I had the original Recall 272 software update performed back in February 2025, but the hardware still failed a year later. **Timeline of Failure:** 1. **Phase 1 (The Trigger):** Level 2 charging stopped unexpectedly before reaching the limit. It tripped my house breaker and unfortunately kille

Car started up normally and I was able to drive throughout the day with no problems. 2. **Phase 2 (The Warning):** The next day, I attempted Level 1 charging. It immediately tripped the breaker. I tried another outlet on a different breaker; the breaker didn't trip, but the car failed to initiate a charge after three attempts. 3. **Phase 3 (Dashboard Error):** After third failed attempt with the L1, I took a peek inside and saw the dashboard had a yellow triangle. With the charger still plugged in, I sat in the driver's seat and turned the car on. The **"Check EV System"** error appeared. I turned off the car and went inside to call the dealer. I called the dealer and they said I can have it towed there. They also scheduled an appointment for the next morning. I went back to car to attempt to position the car to make it easier for the tow truck, but the check ev error was not there when I turned on the car. It said ready and I was able to drive around the block a few times so I figured I'll just try to drive to the dealer. I drove the car to the dealer the next morning. It took **one week** to get my car back. **Diagnostics & Parts Replaced:** The dealer confirmed the following codes and performed a full hardware replacement: * **DTC P1E1300:** AC Power Module Failure * **DTC P1A9096:** DC/DC Converter Fault * **ICCU Part:** `36400-1XAA0-AQQH` * **HV Fuse:** `375F2-GI040-QQH` * **Coolant:** Install of Pink Antifreeze (`00232-19098`)Read more

I purchased a 2015 BMW i8 (salvage title) from Parkline Motors. The vehicle history (Carfax) disclosed prior front/right damage, which I accepted. However, the dealership failed to disclose critical safety-related defects associated with that damage. Shortly after taking possession of the vehicle, I experienced a malfunction in the SRS (Supplemental Restraint System), which controls the airbag sys

I also experienced a persistent alarm system malfunction that prevented me from locking the vehicle without triggering the alarm. When I took the vehicle to BMW for inspection, I was informed that the SRS malfunction was directly related to the prior accident damage. This indicates the issue existed prior to sale and should have been identified and disclosed by the dealership. I promptly notified Parkline Motors. They refused to take responsibility for the SRS safety defect and only offered limited assistance regarding the alarm system. The SRS issue remains unresolved and poses a significant safety risk. Transmission Wiring Harness Chaffed Or Pinched Near Exhaust DPF Discussion: Initial complaint is that the Check Engine Light is illuminated, Service Shifter Message is displayed, and/or a crank no start condition exists. Upon scanning the vehicle for DTC’s you may find one or more of the following: P2453, P2454, P0335, P0336, P242B, P242C, U0074, U11C3. Diagnosis: Inspect the wiring harness near connector XY230A leading down to the transmission. The harness routing may allow the wiring to make contact with the sharp edge of the DPF gasket flange. It has also been found that the wiring harness could be routed close to the exhaust causing chaffing. Both of these situations could result in damage to the harness and a potential open or short. The vehicle was purchased on 04/07 and represented with a mileage of 167,334 at the time of sale. No issues with the odometer or mileage accuracy were disclosed prior to purchase. On 04/08, the vehicle was taken to Walmart Auto Care Center for routine service, where it was identified and documented that the odometer/instrument cluster is not functioning and does not display or track mileage. ... use the odometer is inoperative, the stated mileage cannot be verified, and the condition existed at the time of sale but was not disclosed. The vehicle was sold in a condition where accurate mileage could not be determined, despite a specific mileage being provided. The failure of the odometer creates a safety concern, as it prevents proper tracking of maintenance intervals, including oil changes, brake servicing, and other critical upkeep. This increases the risk of operating the vehicle with worn or unsafe components, which could lead to mechanical failure while driving. The issue has been confirmed by an independent service center, and documentation is available. The vehicle remains available for inspection upon request. No prior warnings, indicator lights, or disclosures were provided before purchase, and the defect was identified within one day of ownership.Read more

To whom it may concern. Our 2017 XC90 unexpectedly, spantaneously, and catastrophically caught fire under the hood and was a total loss 5 minutes after parking it on April 19, 2026. There were no leaks or other signs of mechanical issues. The vehicle had all regular maintenance completed at the Byers Volvo Service Department in Columbus, OH. It had no open recalls. It was always parked overnight i

We do have video of the entire incident as the Volvo was parked on Federal Government Property at the time. We are happy to share any and all information if this helps future vehicles to be safer. It should be noted that there is an active recall for the 2016 XC90 for a coolant hose leak that can cause a fire. Given that the 2017 XC90 is of the same design. Upon checking the internet and Reddit, it appears that our situation is not unique and there are other instances and reports of similar fires.Read more

ICCU failed despite all prior recall updates being performed. Incident began when home circuit breaker tripped; vehicle subsequently refused Level 1 charging with "Check Electrical System" warning. Vehicle then displayed "Stop vehicle and check power supply," and was unable to drive above 40mph (with a turtle icon visible on the dash) once I pulled away from the charging station. This created a significant safety hazard while navigating traffic. Within two hours, the 12V battery was completely depleted; vehicle was unresponsive and required a jump-start for towing. Dealer confirmed ICCU failure requiring replacement. The fact that the vehicle's internal failure caused the immediate malfunction of public infrastructure is deeply concerning, as was the loss of motive power on the road.Read more

I am filing a safety complaint regarding a 2022 vehicle with approximately 47,000 miles that experienced a sudden and dangerous mechanical failure while in operation. While driving at approximately 37 mph, a dashboard warning message appeared indicating that the vehicle required attention but could continue to be driven for a short period. Shortly after the warning, the vehicle suddenly lost the
... ability to maintain proper gear engagement. At one point, no gear was engaged at all, creating a hazardous driving situation. I pulled over and turned the vehicle off. After restarting it, I was able to regain limited operation; however, the vehicle would not shift beyond second gear, significantly limiting its drivability and creating an unsafe condition in traffic. This vehicle has been consistently maintained at an authorized dealership according to all recommended service intervals, with no missed or delayed maintenance. The dealership later informed me that the failure was related to the mechatronic system and SOS system. I was also told that the repair would not be covered under warranty. This incident raises serious safety concerns due to the sudden loss of power and gear function while the vehicle was in motion. I am requesting that this issue be reviewed for potential defects that could affect vehicle safety and reliability. I am submitting this complaint so that the issue can be investigated and to help prevent similar incidents from affecting other drivers.Read more

Since shortly after purchase, the vehicle has experienced intermittent drivability and shifting issues along with repeated EPC and check engine warnings. I am concerned this is related to the known ICCU / 12V battery charging issue affecting IONIQ 5 vehicles, which can cause loss of motive power or make the vehicle undrivable. The vehicle is currently a

The infotainment/radio system in my 2021 Nissan Sentra intermittently reboots and produces static. When this happens, the backup camera freezes or shuts off completely. This has occurred while I was actively reversing, causing a sudden loss of rear visibility. The screen either goes black or restarts, making the backup camera unavailable. This is a safety concern because the backup camera is requi
... red for safe reversing, and the failure happens without warning. The issue occurs repeatedly and is not driver-related. The problem appears to be related to the head unit malfunctioning, which disables the backup camera system.Read more

5th generation (2017-2022) Honda CRV displaying ALL driver assistance system errors (stability control, cruise control, emergency anti-collision etc), check engine light, tire pressure monitor malfunction, parking brake, and some other lights. *OBDII scan reads back P0303* Battery was replaced in 2025, and has never tested at low voltage. Recently tested battery 04/26/2026 at 14.51V (with engine
... running). Spark plugs replaced 04/26/2026 with OEM NGK plugs with OE Gap 0.030". Drove car for 10 minutes and lights didn't go away. Upon researching, this appears to be a "replace all fuel injectors" job. Which also appears to be a fairly COMMON issue in these CRVs. My concern is that the misfire is disabling all driver safety systems and forcing the car into limp mode, and seems to be manufacturer error/negligence in terms of part reliability/quality. These parts are also on a 6-9 month BACK ORDER because of how common the issue is. Honda released "Service Bulletin 19-032" as a means to make dealers aware of the issue but I find this dishonest to the customers and Honda owners who purchase the vehicles on the promise of reliability. Please look into this issue, as it seems to happen just outside of warranty on these cars. Honda scarcely giving out goodwill refunds/assistance for THEIR factory-issue.Read more

Shortly after purchasing in 2025 I began having occasional issues with the door locks. Eventually the issue would self resolve but now I have experienced at least 2 times in last month being locked inside the vehicle and unable to exit without climbing into the passenger seat. I have not taken it in for repairs yet due to cost concerns but I am worried about this dangerous situation.

### Summary: Sudden Unintended Acceleration (SUA) from a stationary position. ### Vehicle Configuration: 2023 Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD. Battery Type: NMC. ### Incident Details: On April 19, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the vehicle was stationary on a flat surface at 6722 Vista Del Mar Ave, San Diego. I was in the driver's seat with the vehicle "On" but stopped, conversing with two w
... itnesses. My feet were completely clear of both the accelerator and brake pedals. ### The Event: Without driver input, the vehicle suddenly and forcefully accelerated forward. I immediately slammed the service brake with full force. The vehicle traveled approximately 20 feet before the brakes brought the car to a halt. ### Evidence & Gaps: Two eyewitnesses confirmed the vehicle moved autonomously without pedal interaction. A manufacturer data report was requested, but it showed a specific data gap for the exact seconds of the acceleration event, despite providing second-by-second logs for the rest of the day.Read more

"I am reporting a failed safety remedy by BMW of Macon regarding Recall 13V-044 (Battery Cable Connector). Following the recall service, the vehicle suffered a systemic digital failure and a legal odometer discrepancy of approximately 20,000 miles 73,547 to around 53,000k (The 53k miles was seen on the dash after the service, but the exact number wasn’t documented by me, but was reported to my
... service advisor at BMW of Macon) Specifically: 1. Module De-Sync: The recall was allegedly performed without proper voltage stabilization, causing a communication failure ('brownout') between the CAS and Instrument Clustermodules. 2. Vehicle Immobilization: The resulting digital handshake failure has triggered a security lockout, rendering the car unable to crank and locking the transmission in Park (No Neutral). 3. Misdiagnosis: The dealership is refusing to reconcile the software corruption they caused, instead attempting to charge for a mechanical starter motor that was fully operational (CAS 1/1) prior to their intervention. This vehicle entered the dealership for a safety recall and was returned in a digitally compromised, legally unmarketable, and non-operational state. I request a federal investigation into the dealership's failure to provide a safe and effective remedy."Read more

On [XXX], my 2022 GMC Yukon Denali XL (VIN [XXX] ) experienced a complete loss of propulsion while I was driving on [XXX] in El Paso, Texas, with my wife and two young children in the vehicle. Mileage was approximately 50,364. While in motion, the vehicle was displaying abnormal behavior, concerned the vehicle would stall on the highway, I exited at the Geronimo exit. As the vehicle slowed, it shu
... t down entirely. Multiple restart attempts failed. The dashboard cycled on and off, displaying a "Service 4WD" warning while the vehicle was in 2WD mode. The transmission locked, and the vehicle became inoperable in the middle of the roadway with traffic passing on both sides. OnStar SOS was activated to communicate the unsafe location. The El Paso Police Department was requested to divert traffic. A city tow vehicle arrived after approximately fifteen minutes; my family was assisted across the roadway. Roadside assistance did not arrive for approximately three hours. This was the second loss-of-propulsion event on this vehicle in less than twelve months. The first occurred in March 2025 and resulted in engine replacement under NHTSA Safety Recall 25V274 (L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion). The [XXX] failure occurred after the recall remedy had been applied and the engine was replaced. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who replaced the throttle body, intake air duct and a service item titled "Repair open ground circuit". I am filing this report to document a second loss-of-propulsion event on a vehicle that already received the remedy under Recall 25V274, and to ensure NHTSA has visibility into the potential pattern of recurring or inadequate remedy on the L87 platform. I was only allowed 3 components to choose from, but I want to make certain that Im including the these additional components that has been failing:Forward Collision Warning, Engine,Fuel/Propulsion System,Engine,Lane assistance/ Departure, and Lighting. ... priately when I articulate EXACTLY what I feel,& see occur. My safety & everyone esle has been put at risk everyday which caused my 1st accident which I predicted was potentially likely since May 1,2025. It occurs exactly the same everytime just like the 1st terrifying experience: Id be stopped at a red light, intersection waiting for green light. With foot on brake between 5 to 10 seconds later I can feel the brake disenaging with my foot fully and physically on the brake simultaneously my vehicle screens will light up indicators erractically,(ghost touch, touch screen digitizer failure), while LUNGING FORWARD 5-7 ft on it OWNS,simultaneously screen blackout,& vehicle screen system reset followed by vehicle putting itself in emergency brake. This puts everyone around at RISKS AS MY VEHICLE OPERATES ON ITS OWN, which caused an accident at a red light where my truck plowed into the vehicle in front of me.Ive waited for an independent service contractor to evalute on 4 different occasions which they failed to appear or make contact on THEIR desired scheduled dates. The dealership has failed to reproduce due to unsatisfactory failed service repair attempts, discrepancies in verbal & documention.Absolute lack of concern for my safety or interest in issue, as at least 2 comeback services were met with breach of contract by dealer. The DEALERSHIP has been the only ones servicing my vehicle & according to their top tier diagnosis components successfully checked out in contrast to my many reoccurring service request for same issue.Prior to failure no warning lamps or messages appeared.Read more

11686537 prior complaint #. I want to add to my prior complaint. I have has this car going on almost a year. During the winter months there was no issues with the informatic system. Once we experienced our first 80 degree day it immediately started again. This is becoming unsafe as it causes anyone driving the car to become distracted due to the constant switching of screens. If you try and use t
... he GPS that becomes impossible because it switches on its own causing the driver to have to take their eyes off the road. This is also resetting your setting. I had my car set to autolock and at some point it reset that and then my car was broken into and stuff was stolen from inside. The informatic system is completely unusable when this happens and is pretty much every time you use the car when the weather is over a certain temperature. I have heard some people doing things to maybe help to prevent this but I have paid for a vehicle with a long standing history of safety and quality. So I do not believe I need to alter my vehicle in any way to prevent standard equipment from operating properly.Read more
