The vehicle is experiencing an intermittent and unpredictable loss of power steering assist. The steering becomes extremely stiff and difficult to turn, often immediately upon startup or while at a standstill, then randomly becomes loose again before returning to a stiff state. This creates a significant safety hazard as the effort required to steer changes without warning during operation. Upon i
... nspection, the electrical connectors to the EPS rack were found to be clean and free of corrosion, suggesting an internal failure of the Electronic Power Steering motor or control module. This issue is identical to the safety concerns addressed in NHTSA Recall 16V-167 (S19), but this specific VIN is not currently included in that recall.Read more

Since purchasing my 2024 Odyssey EX-L I have experienced on multiple occasions where the idle stop engages but upon releasing the brake the vehicle fails to restart, dash lights up and vehicle is shifted automatically into park while sitting in traffic and vehicles moving all around me as well as honking as I am unable to restart the vehicle immediately. I have to push the start button multiple ti

Additionally the vehicle is very slow to start especially if I have had to start the vehicle a different times throughout the day. I took the vehicle back to the dealer and they diagnosed it with a bad starter at only 38K miles which is of course out of warranty. Not only is this a safety issue of the vehicle stalling in traffic but Honda is failing to recognize a well known issue with the starter in this particular vehicle, sticking consumers with hefty repair bills for a manufacturing issue.Read more

Vehicle: 2024 Honda Prologue Touring AWD The vehicle has an ongoing clicking/noise issue coming from the driver-side front CV joint/axle area, especially during turns, acceleration, and low-speed maneuvering. The clicking noise appears to be progressively worsening and raises concerns about premature CV joint failure and potential drivetrain safety issues. The issue has persisted despite service
... visits and replacement attempts. Additionally, the vehicle intermittently displays a “Charge Port Door Open” warning message even when the charge port door is fully closed and secured. This false warning can prevent charging functions from operating normally and creates concerns about electrical system reliability and sensor malfunction. Both issues occur intermittently but repeatedly, affecting confidence in the vehicle’s safety and reliability. The ongoing driver-side CV joint clicking noise has caused concerns about potential drivetrain failure while operating the vehicle. Due to the worsening nature of the issue and repeated occurrence, I no longer feel fully safe or confident driving the vehicle, especially during turns and normal road operation. The false charge port warning may also interfere with the vehicle’s charging capability and normal operation.Read more

The Auto High-Beam system activates the high beams inappropriately during operation. The system triggers the high beams directly into the eyes of oncoming traffic and activates during early dusk conditions. The sudden, intense illumination blinds oncoming drivers. This creates an immediate glare hazard and significantly increases the risk of a head-on collision. I reported this specific failure t
... o the authorized dealership on three separate occasions, engaging three distinct service advisors during the active warranty period. The service department omitted these complaints from the formal repair orders. The first advisor stated the system was functioning normally. The second advisor stated the technicians completed an inspection and verified the system as fully operational. The third advisor acknowledged experiencing the exact same malfunction on their personal vehicle and instructed me to manually disable the safety feature. The system fails silently, displaying zero warning lamps or error messages prior to or during the malfunctions. The attached service invoices document a severe, underlying instability within the vehicle's electrical and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) network, culminating in a complete VSA modulator replacement. These records establish a confirmed administrative pattern of the dealership dismissing intermittent safety faults, officially logging statements such as "unable to verify issue" and "no problem found" on subsequent visits. This evidentiary paper trail substantiates the dealership's systemic suppression of my specific, repeated verbal reports regarding the Auto High-Beam safety hazard. The vehicle and the Auto High-Beam system remain available for inspection upon request.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2021 Kia Telluride experiencing repeated and dangerous electronic system failures while driving. Kia of East Syracuse (NY) diagnosed the issue as related to the backup camera assembly and communication/network failures. While driving, the vehicle experienced loss of power steering assist, instrument cluster failure, speedometer malfunction, incorrect gea
... r indication, backup camera activation while driving forward, blind spot warnings activating incorrectly, flashing/blank temperature display, and multiple driver assistance system failures. The speedometer displayed 0 mph while the vehicle was in motion and later displayed approximately 40 mph while stopped at a traffic light. The vehicle also became stuck in reverse while backing out of my driveway and would not shift properly, leaving the vehicle stopped in the roadway. Multiple safety systems malfunctioned simultaneously, including Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control, Parking Distance Warning, and Forward Collision Warning systems. The dealership documented multiple fault codes and stated the dashboard lit up “like a Christmas tree” while the instrument cluster stopped functioning entirely. These failures create a serious safety risk because critical driving information and driver assistance systems become unreliable or inoperative while the vehicle is moving. The failures occur unexpectedly and without warning. Photos and video evidence have been retained, including video of the backup camera activating while driving forward and the speedometer malfunctioning while the vehicle was in motion. I am asking NHTSA investigate these failures as a potential safety defect involving the camera system, instrument cluster communication systems, and CAN network communication failures in the Kia Telluride.Read more

The 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 experienced a high-voltage battery system failure yesterday while DC fast charging, about two weeks after the vehicle underwent recall/campaign service related to high-voltage battery monitoring and software updates associated with NHTSA Recall 26V030. During charging, I heard a loud popping sound from the charging port/high-voltage battery area. After disconnecting from
... the charger, the vehicle displayed warning messages stating: “Electrical system not working correctly. Safely stop the vehicle!” and “Error: 12V power supply. Safely park the vehicle! See owner’s manual.” The Ontario California Volkswagen dealership informed me that a high-voltage battery fuse/protection component malfunctioned or blew and that the vehicle now has to be manually de-energized and partially disassembled to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle and failed components should be available for inspection through the dealership. I believe this created a serious safety risk because the failure occurred during active DC fast charging involving the high-voltage battery system. I am concerned about fire risk, sudden loss of propulsion, or other high-voltage battery hazards. The issue has been preliminarily confirmed by an authorized Volkswagen dealership, and I was informed Volkswagen engineering representatives may need to assist with the diagnosis. Prior to the failure, the vehicle had recently undergone recall/campaign service on 04/28/2026, and I was informed the battery control module software required multiple sleep cycles to complete the update process. The dealership is charging me approximately $2,000 in diagnostic and battery teardown fees while determining whether repairs will be covered under warranty. I believe the failure may be related to the recall, software update, or a defective high-voltage battery system and I am requesting Volkswagen consider a buyback or other appropriate remedy.Read more

... 25, while exiting a highway with my child in the vehicle, the car suddenly lost power and all dashboard warning lights illuminated simultaneously. The vehicle became inoperable in traffic and required towing. This created a serious safety hazard and could have resulted in an accident. The vehicle has been returned to the dealership multiple times for the same or related issue on the following dates: • July 8, 2025 – mileage 80,099 • July 10, 2025 – mileage 80,101 • September 20, 2025 – mileage approximately 82,000 • October 27, 2025 – mileage 84,453 • October 28, 2025 – mileage 84,473 • April 16, 2026 – mileage 93,812 Repairs have included replacement of the high-pressure fuel pump and repeated diagnostic inspections, but the issue remains unresolved. I understand many owners of Honda vehicles equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine have reported similar problems involving head gasket failure, coolant intrusion, misfires, overheating, fuel system issues, and sudden loss of power. I am concerned this defect presents a significant safety risk.Read more

* This complaint concerns a catastrophic failure of the transmission in my vehicle. This defect was first reported to a Ford dealer while still within the 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty (Jan 3, 2023, at 58,679 miles; Invoice #XXX). * The condition worsened. Between July 2024 - Jan. 2026, I received 7 digital "Service Engine Soon" warnings via the Ford App. My dealer advised that the vehicl
... e was "OK to drive" as long as the light (which never stayed on) was not flashing. I was told diagnostics could not be made unless the light was active at the dealership. Jan 16, 2026, the light came on; I was able to take the truck to the dealer. A fault code was finally captured, but the dealer reported a two-month service backlog. I could not wait that long. *Feb 2026, I established a clean engine baseline. I spent $833.15 to replace O2 sensors (EJ’s Automotive) to rule out engine−related performance issues. During this service (at 103,431 miles), an inspection confirmed metallic clutch material contamination in the transmission fluid only 10,248 miles after a 2nd professional flush. This failure occurred despite a total maintenance investment of $11,533.80 across 21 service visits. * This failure resulted in a dangerous Loss of Motive Power, creating a collision risk. The vehicle is currently grounded and completely inoperable. The dealership verbally designated the vehicle as VOR due to the confirmed diagnosis, only to contradict that status by claiming it was "driveable" after I declined a $15,000 quote for a teardown to diagnose the issue. * Since the truck can no longer tow, 2 third-party transports for a horse and a trailer relocation are necessary. The failure has also resulted in a total parasitic battery drain. The tailgate latch and door locks are inoperable, suggesting the transmission fault is interfering with module communication. This is consistent with the root cause Ford has acknowledged in TSBs 24-2101 and 25-2126 involving the CDF clutch drum sleeve. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OFRead more

When I first got in in april of last year it had 126 miles on it and was told by [XXX] at the time and ford Auffenburg used cars that it had no recalls at all. I attempted in good faith to resolve this issue through authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships, including Mercedes-Benz of [XXX] Downtown LA, Mercedes-Benz of Beverly Hills, and Mercedes-Benz / Calstar Motors in Glendale. However, the dealerships refused or failed to accept the vehicle for recall service, failed to provide a repair order, and/or failed to provide a clear written explanation or remedy timeline. This creates a serious safety and consumer problem. I am left with a vehicle that is subject to an active safety recall, but the authorized dealers are not providing a practical repair path. The vehicle’s use, value, and safety are materially affected. I also use the vehicle for car-sharing/business purposes, and an open safety recall prevents or restricts the vehicle from being used for that purpose. I am requesting that NHTSA document this complaint and review Mercedes-Benz USA’s handling of this recall, including the lack of available remedy, the refusal or failure of authorized dealers to accept the vehicle for recall service, and the lack of clear written guidance to the consumer. I am also requesting that Mercedes-Benz USA provide an immediate remedy, written safety instructions, a repair timeline, and appropriate accommodation, replacement, or repurchase review if the recall cannot be corrected within a reasonable time. For the last couple of years I've had a problem with the backup camera it goes out randomly sometimes the picture turns upside down sometimes it's just a black screen sometimes there is a thing that says see the dealer. It's intermittent it's unexpected and other Ford years have been recalled for the same problem but for whatever reason they're not including my 2014 in the recall. I just had someo

Vehicle stalled approximately 15 times between April 17 and May 4, 2026, including once on Interstate XXX at approximately 50mph with minor children ages [XXX] and [XXX] in the vehicle. The oil and battery lights illuminated simultaneously at each stall. Diagnosed as ABS module failure first, then left front wheel speed sensor failure on the 2nd occasion, both confirmed by a Hyundai dealership.
... Multiple warning lights illuminated, including check blind spot and anti lock brake system messages on the dashboard BUT no error codes following the 2nd repair. The vehicle has been inspected and repaired twice by the manufacturer’s dealership with a 3rd repair currently pending as of May 11, 2026. ongoing electrical and ECM communication issues with my 2018 Nissan NV2500. The vehicle is experiencing serious fault codes involving loss of communication with the ECM/PCM and transmission control systems, creating a potential safety concern and reliability issue. The diagnostic scan produced the following active codes: U0100 – Lost Communication With ECM/PCM A U1000 – CAN Communication Circu
... it P1815 – Manual Mode Switch/Circuit / Computer Supply Voltage These faults indicate a failure in the vehicle’s electronic communication network and engine control communication system. The issue affects drivability and raises concerns about unexpected stalling, transmission malfunction, loss of power, and overall vehicle safety. The problems appear related to defective ECM communication circuitry, CAN bus communication failure, or associated wiring/electrical components. I understand similar Nissan vehicles have experienced communication and electrical system issues, and I am requesting that Nissan investigate whether this defect qualifies for recall coverage, warranty extension, or manufacturer assistance. Example. When im on the interstate and there's a slight incline the vehicle just shuts down it's still running but loses everything like it's in limp mode.Read more

While attempting a slow right turn from a complete stop at an intersection, I heard a loud thunk sound followed by an immediate loss of power steering response. The steering wheel spun freely with little resistance while the front tires did not respond proportionally. I was able to safely pull over. Upon restarting the vehicle it produced an abnormal wheezing sound suggesting additional mechanical
... stress. At the time of the failure the vehicle had approximately 40,000 miles, which I believe represents a premature failure for a safety-critical steering component. The vehicle was brought to a Hyundai dealership for inspection. The dealer pulled diagnostic fault codes, found none, performed a 20-minute test drive, and returned the vehicle stating they could not find anything wrong. No physical inspection of the steering components was performed. The failure condition — a slow full-lock turn from a complete stop — was never specifically replicated during the dealer's test drive. The problem has not been confirmed or repaired by the dealer. The vehicle is available for inspection. My safety and the safety of other drivers was put at risk by the sudden and unexpected loss of steering control. No warning lights appeared prior to or during the failure.Read more

On March 21st, while driving my Hyundai vehicle, I noticed the vehicle began making a ticking sound. After stopping the vehicle, it slowly began catching on fire. The fire ultimately spread and resulted in the vehicle becoming a total loss. This created a serious safety concern and placed me at risk. I later learned there was a recall associated with the vehicle. However, I never received any rec
... all notices because Hyundai reportedly had the wrong address on file. Had I been properly notified of the recall and potential safety risks, I would have done everything in my power to ensure the vehicle was inspected, repaired, and safe to drive. Because I was unaware of the recall issue, the vehicle continued to be operated without my knowledge of the potential danger. The incident caused significant financial and transportation hardship, including loss of reliable transportation and additional financial strain. Hyundai later reached a determination regarding the matter, but I remain concerned about the serious safety risk and the fact that I did not receive proper recall notification before the incident occurred. I am submitting this complaint because I believe the recall notification process and handling of this matter should be reviewed further due to the serious safety risk involved.Read more

My body control module (BCM) seems to have failed on my 2018 Honda CRV, my first indication was my alarm going off and me being unable to enter my vehicle with my key fob. Once I manually unlocked the car with the embedded key inside the key fob, I was unable to turn off my instrument cluster or lights by hitting the start switch of the car. I then turned on the car and was unable to turn off the
... car. My instrument cluster reported a key fob error. I replaced my batteries in both my key fobs, and that did not fix the problem. The only way I was able to turn off my vehicle was by disconnecting the battery and removing a relay to force it to turn off. Apparently, this is a known issue, and according to many online forums, there are many people experiencing this exact issue yet there has not been a recall to address this so the cost has been placed on the consumer. My car is currently at the dealership pending a $1000 plus repair where I believe this repair should be covered by Honda in a safety recall.Read more
