I had the backup camera harness recall performed on my 2018 Honda Ridgeline on 09/06/2023 by Honda of Escondido , CA. (See attached invoice of recall work performed.) On 01/27/2026, the backup camera failed to appear on the dash screen when the vehicle was in reverse. I restarted the vehicle and the camera view was still not visible on the screen. I drove home and parked the vehicle in my garage
... . I turned the ignition off and then on again and put the car in reverse with the brake applied. This time the camera view was displayed on the dash screen. Appears to be an intermittent problem. Visibility / Defogging / Defrosting issues are main safety concerns. Every winter for the last 3 years, the heater fails and blows only cold air. This is intermittent throughout the year, but recurring. With cold-weather driving conditions, it creates an unsafe driving experience when windshield and windows can't defog or defrost properly. The problem has been reported several times to the dea
... lership and it was never fully resolved while under warranty. Each time I took the vehicle to the dealership for servicing with temporary adjustments. Dealership now states a heater module needs to be replaced at my expense although the same codes and part affected while under warranty. The component/part number needing replaced is part 85757074 (hybrid electric coolant heater module per dealership). There were several service vehicle warning lights and diagnostic codes were shared with dealership when dropped off for repairs.Read more

I heard a popping sound from behind driver seat when I started the car. A few minutes later a dash warning showed up "stop vehicle and check battery state" followed by a complete loss of power on the road within 3 miles of reduced power driving (I was trying to find a safe spot to turn out of 6 lane road). Vehicle had to be towed to dealer who states the Integrated Charge Control Unit ICCU is not
... working and needs to be replaced. (i suspect the popping sound was related to that - ?blown fuse). The Part is on back order and has to be ordered from Korea and during the weeks long wait they do not have a loaner care to provide. I was in rural New Hampshire at the time so continued driving (for about 5 minutes) until I lost all power steering, stability controls and ability to drive the car - luckily by this point I had made it to Gorham, NH. The GM Shift to Park recall has been an issue that has affected various General Motors (GM) vehicles. The primarily impacting Chevrolet models like the Malibu, Traverse, Volt, and the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer. It’s essential to be aware of the problem, its implications on vehicle’s safety, and the steps required to address it. In simple terms, the Shift to Park defect prevents drivers from shutt
... ing off and locking their vehicles, even after putting the car in park. This situation poses a potential safety concern, as drivers might mistakenly assume their cars are securely parked and powered off while walking away. The issue has been prevalent enough for the company to issue a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) on June 7, 2021. The TSB specifically targets the 2017-2018 GMC Acadia, while also mentioning the Malibu, Traverse, Volt, and other 2016-2019 Chevrolet models. The bulletin provides guidance on diagnosing and addressing the “Shift to Park” problems, although it does not present a definitive solution to the underlying issue. The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that when attempting to accelerate from being idle, or while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would suddenly jerk, accelerate at an unexpected speed, or fail to accelerate. There was a ticking noise coming from the front end of the vehicle that could be heard when standing outside the vehicle. The Check Engine light and the explanati

The dealer updated the vehicle's software but was unable to provide a remedy for the failures. The dealer informed the contact of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V741000 (Electrical System) and 25V766000 (Engine); however, the parts to do the recall repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. While driving approximately 25 MPH, after accelerating from being idle at a stop light, the vehicle suddenly jerked and stopped. The contact pressed the accelerator pedal, and when doing so, the vehicle accelerated at a high speed, immediately causing the contact to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle ended up crashing into a fire hydrant, causing it to stop. The air bags did not deploy. The contact received injuries to their shoulders, lower back, neck, and left knee. Medical attention was needed. A police report had been filed. The vehicle was towed from the incident. The contact stated that while the police were there, the officer noticed the engine revving as if the accelerator pedal was being pressed; however, the pedal was not pressed at the time. We purchased the vehicle in 2020 with appx 33,000 miles. In fall 2023- winter 2024 it began having electrical glitches when the weather was cold. The car will start, but will not shift into gear. It throws alarms such as service Parking Brake, Shifter, Engine, Traction Control and that you must put it in Park. Although it obviously is in park or it wouldn't have started. The dealership kept it
... for a month Nov-Dec 2023 and could not get it to recreate the problem, but replaced the battery since it "failed". We went on vacation for Christmas and had issues with it not shifting after it sat all night in the cold. However, the problem is intermittent. But the cold seems to be the consistent factor. Once the weather warms up, it does fine. Although 1 time in sumer 2024 with very high temps 100+ it threw the same alarms and would not shift into gear upon starting the car. We continued to have issues in Fall 2024/Winter 2025. It did great throughout spring and summer, began issues again in Fall 2025 into this Winter 2026. It has left us stranded, unable to get the car to shift sometimes for 10-15 minutes while we "warm up the car" but sometimes it takes 30-60 minutes. We've began putting a space heater nearby it for a couple of hours each morning before we need to drive it, but that doesn't always work either. While extremely frustrating, it hasn't been considered dangerous until a week ago. We came out of church and it was chilly, so I expected it would not shift into gear. It surprised me when it started AND shifted. However, as soon as I got on the main road up to 40mph, the engine completely lost power and threw all the same alarms. The stretch of county road had no shoulders and deep ditches, so barely made it coasting to a neighborhood to pull over. Searching on the Internet, we narrowed it down to the CAN BUS star connector, replaced it, and it drove better than ever! Until it was cold that night! Likely needs soldered, can't reach it behind glovebox.Read more

I am reporting a suspected safety defect involving the Motor Generator Unit (MGU) used in the eTorque system on my Ram 1500. The vehicle experienced an MGU failure that resulted in abnormal electrical behavior, warning messages, and impaired drivability. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Ram dealership, which confirmed the MGU has failed and requires replacement. The MGU is currently on
... national backorder with no estimated availability date. As a result, the vehicle is inoperable or unsafe to operate and cannot be repaired in a reasonable timeframe. Why this is a safety concern: The MGU is critical to the vehicle’s starting, charging, and powertrain functions. Failure of this component presents safety risks including loss of propulsion, potential stalling or failure to restart, electrical system instability, and vehicle immobilization in traffic or unsafe locations. The extended inability to obtain replacement MGUs significantly increases these risks. Additional information: Based on dealer communications and publicly available owner reports, similar MGU failures and extended backorders appear to affect multiple Ram 1500 eTorque vehicles, indicating this may not be an isolated incident. Dealer/manufacturer actions: The dealer confirmed the failure and ordered the replacement MGU. No repair timeline or permanent remedy has been provided. Request: I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue to determine whether MGU failures in Ram 1500 eTorque vehicles constitute a safety-related defect requiring investigation and potential recall action.Read more

The vehicle is subject to an open federal safety recall involving a fuel injector that may crack and leak fuel onto the top of the engine. According to NHTSA, liquid fuel or fuel vapor may accumulate near hot engine or exhaust components, creating a risk of an under-hood fire and injury. I purchased this vehicle after the recall had already been issued. The recall was not disclosed to me at the t

When I contacted an authorized dealer to ask whether there were any open recalls, I was initially told there were none. After I specifically referenced the recall, I was told that parts were not available and that no repair had been completed. The safety risk is that the vehicle may leak fuel near hot components without warning, creating a fire hazard while driving or after the engine is shut off. Safety Complaint – DC-to-DC Converter Failure Causing Vehicle Shutdown I am submitting this complaint to report a DC-to-DC converter failure that rendered my vehicle inoperable. I was informed the
... replacement part is on national back order, with an estimated repair time of up to two months. Based on owner reports and service discussions, this appears to be a common failure affecting Land Rover mild-hybrid vehicles. Many reports describe sudden loss of electrical power, warning messages, and vehicle shutdown. This issue presents a potential safety risk, as failure of the DC-to-DC converter can result in loss of vehicle systems and may occur without warning, including while the vehicle is in motion. The vehicle is currently unusable. It is concerning that a critical electrical component with safety implications is failing at relatively low mileage and that replacement parts are not readily available. Safety Concern: The dealer failed to follow required recall procedures, failed to document the inspection, and denied federally mandated recall coverage without evidence.
