The infotainment system regularly stops producing audio. This applies to all audio, including turn signal, navigation, radio and Apple Carplay. Yes, it's available to inspection. I was driving home from work late at night in December 2025. A Signal came on that said pull to safety or something like that and then I lost power steering and brake control and my entire dash in my vehicle went pitch black. I was in the middle lane on route 290 and I was very lucky not to hit any other vehicles, but it was incredibly scary because I had no control of my vehicle and there were
... many cars and trucks on the road around me. I coasted off slowly to the side and I had to sit in 15° temperatures for an hour while I waited for AAA to come and tow my vehicle. They towed it to my home and were not able to get it off the ramp so they had to tow it to the dealership because the battery had died. The vehicle for a couple weeks before was slow to start, which I did not realize at the time was a sign that the battery was being drained. It was brought to the dealer and discovered that the DC DC converter and the BECM was the issue. My vehicle is open for inspection if you need it. The converter and BECM have been replaced after fighting with the dealer and with Landrover. Landrover is aware of the situation because they had to work with the dealer on their systems.Unfortunately, I am out almost $1000 because they made me pay for the replacement of the battery ( and the towing ) . Honestly I am having PTSD every time I drive past the area where I almost crashed. Landrover did not even want to accept responsibility, but the dealer did as we have purchased two vehicles from them that we also maintain meticulously.Read more

While driving about 60 mph on the highway, all warning lights on the dash suddenly came on and the truck immediately lost power/shut down. The wheels sputtered or somethting like that, not sure how to describe it. I was able to safely get off the road and restart the truck. After restarting, it drove normally again with no obvious issues. I recently received a recall notice describing very similar

I am reaching out regarding ongoing safety and reliability concerns involving my 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Launch Edition, leased in March 2025 from SMG Automotive Holdings, LLC in Brooklyn, New York. I previously pursued arbitration through NCDS; however, the case was dismissed after I accepted a settlement related to issues occurring before March 31, 2026. Unfortunately, the vehicle’s problems hav
... e continued beyond that date. Within months of leasing the vehicle, it became completely inoperable late at night and would not start, leaving me stranded. The first tow truck was unable to move the vehicle because it could not be shifted into neutral, requiring a second specialized EV tow truck and causing several hours of delay and missed work. After the vehicle was returned, I began experiencing severe battery-drain concerns. Despite multiple service visits and repair attempts, the issues persisted. I was later informed the vehicle required software updates related to the electric system. Most recently, after charging the vehicle to approximately 85%, warning lights appeared with the message: “STOP SAFELY — VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF SOON.” The vehicle would not shift into drive, the interior lights began flickering, and the vehicle completely shut down again, leaving me stranded overnight until it could be towed to the dealership the following morning. As an educator and assistant principal, reliable transportation is critical to my responsibilities. These repeated failures have caused missed work, financial hardship, ongoing lease and insurance obligations, rental expenses, and serious safety concerns. At this point, I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle due to the repeated electrical and drivability failures. Despite working extensively with both the dealership and manufacturer, the underlying issues continue to persist. For these reasons, I am respectfully requesting assistance in resolving this matter and being permanently removed from this vehicle.Read more

Here’s a strong version that sounds frustrated but still credible and harder to dismiss: I’ve owned many vehicles over the years, and this BMW has been, without question, the most problematic car I’ve ever had. The list of issues has been absurd for a vehicle in this price range and from a brand that markets itself as a premium luxury manufacturer. The sunroof failed, I’ve had multiple t
... ire blowouts under normal driving conditions, the drive bar/suspension was bent from what should have been a routine road bump, the engine oil housing/component failed, and now I’m dealing with coolant system and drivetrain problems as well. At this point, it feels like one major issue after another. I expected quality, reliability, and engineering excellence from BMW, but my experience has been the complete opposite. Instead, ownership has been stressful, expensive, and incredibly disappointing. A luxury vehicle should not have this many significant failures in such a short span of ownership. Between the repair costs, downtime, and constant concern over what will fail next, this car has completely destroyed my confidence in the BMW brand. I am documenting these issues formally because this ownership experience has been unacceptable.Read more

I am reporting a recurring and unresolved electrical/safety issue with my new Tesla Model Y. The issue has occurred 5 times within the past 4 weeks and affects multiple systems simultaneously. When the issue occurs: * The air conditioning stops working completely. * The driver-side front and rear windows cannot be rolled down or up. * The driver seat adjustment may not function properly. The pr
... oblem appears intermittently. It may disappear temporarily and then return hours or days later. Tesla service has inspected the vehicle multiple times, but the issue continues to recur. This creates a significant safety concern because: * The driver window may not function during rain or emergencies. * The AC may fail during extremely hot weather. * The driver seat may not adjust properly, potentially affecting safe vehicle operation and driver visibility. * The intermittent nature of the failure makes the vehicle unpredictable and unreliable to operate safely. The issue has not been permanently resolved despite repeated service visits. I am concerned there may be a broader electrical or control system defect affecting vehicle safety.Read more

NHTSA Safety Complaint Draft Vehicle: 2025 Ram 1500 VIN: [XXX] Mileage at First Incident: 3920 Mileage at Most Recent Incident: 13,000 (approx.) Complaint Summary: My 2025 Ram 1500 has a recurring safety critical defect that causes the truck to suddenly and unpredictably decelerate from highway speeds (around 70 mph to 55 mph) down to approximately 5 mph, even though the engine RPMs r
... emain around 4,000. This creates an immediate risk of being rear ended or causing a multi vehicle crash. Full Description of the Problem: While driving at normal highway speeds, the vehicle suddenly loses propulsion without warning. The truck slows rapidly to about 5 mph, dealership verbally described as “limp mode” to protect itself, despite the engine continuing to rev at high RPMs. During these events, the dashboard and infotainment system display incorrect and erratic information, including: - Transmission indicator switching into 4WD, Park, or 1st gear while the vehicle is moving - Navigation activating on its own - Screen freezing, glitching, or displaying inaccurate data This defect has occurred multiple times and is unpredictable, making the vehicle unsafe to operate. Repair Attempts: I have taken the vehicle to an authorized Ram dealership on multiple occasions for the same issue: - Repair Attempt #1: 03/20/2025 - Repair Attempt #2: 10/02/2025 - Repair Attempt #3: 10/30/2025 - Repair Attempt #4: 11/17/2025 - Repair Attempt #5: 05/12 2026 The dealership has replaced PCM harness, transfer case control module, DTCM, performed software updates and claimed the issue was resolved, but the defect continues to occur. They have also stated they “cannot replicate” the problem, despite multiple documented incidents. Safety Risk: This defect poses a serious risk of collision, especially at highway speeds. The sudden loss of propulsion and incorrect gear display could easily result in a rear end crash INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

The problem occurred immediately after picking my car up from a valet on 5/17/2026 around 9:00pm. The valet had pulled my car up to the front of the Seattle Park ‘N Fly Valet by Sea-Tac airport. I pulled out onto International Blvd, and within a few seconds, the accelerator pedal became completely unresponsive. I was able to coast the car into the Denny’s parking lot just north of the valet lo
... t (about 0.2 mi north of the valet). Everything else seemed to work just fine, except for the accelerator pedal (brakes worked just fine). I turned off the engine, and when I tried to restart the car, it was turning over but wouldn’t start. I called out someone to jump the battery, but the battery was fine. We then disconnected and reconnected the battery, and this resolved the issue and I was able to restart the car and drive away. It was dangerous that I was able to pull out onto a road, just to immediately lose any ability to accelerate. I’m lucky there was a nearby parking lot and I didn’t pull into busy traffic. Something seems to have happened at the valet, that was then triggered as soon as I pulled out onto the road. My guess is they tried to start the car and use the twist shifter in some combination that caused a fault that only triggered once I started to get up to speed. It’s strange because they were able to pull my car up to the front of the lot just fine, and I was able to pull out onto the roadway just fine, but the loss of acceleration only happened once I tried to get it up to speed.Read more

My 2022 Kia Carnival, approximately 80,000 miles, had intermittent dashboard warning lights and grinding brake noise for a few weeks. I brought the vehicle to Tasca Kia White Plains first time on 4/14/26 then again on 5/8/26. At that time, the brakes would not respond normally, and I could not immediately shift the vehicle into Park. Police and towing services were involved. The dealership later replaced an ABS sensor. However, when I reviewed the codes with the service manager, I was told the ABS sensor code did not appear on the date of the brake incident. I was also told that an ABS sensor failure itself would not typically cause hydraulic brake failure. I am concerned that the sensor replacement does not explain the brake failure and that this may involve a brake/ABS/electronic stability control safety issue.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding ongoing and potentially dangerous mechanical failures involving my vehicle that have repeatedly occurred despite numerous repair attempts by the dealership. Over the past year, I have taken my vehicle to the dealership more than 10 times for serious recurring issues. The problems have included: Drivetrain malfunction warnings Engine warning lights Oil leaks
... Smoke coming from the vehicle The vehicle unexpectedly shifting into neutral while driving Sudden loss of drivability requiring the vehicle to be towed The dealership has repeatedly stated that the issues were repaired, and at one point even provided a one-year warranty on the repair work. Despite this, the same problems have continued to occur. Most recently, the drivetrain malfunction warning and engine light returned again, smoke came from the vehicle, and the car shifted into neutral on its own, becoming completely undriveable and requiring towing. I have spent more than $10,000 on repairs related to these ongoing issues, yet the vehicle remains unreliable and unsafe. My primary concern is the safety risk posed by the drivetrain failure and the vehicle unexpectedly shifting into neutral while in operation. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed as a potential vehicle safety issue. I believe these repeated failures may present a serious risk not only to myself but potentially to other drivers as well. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Read more

My 2022 Chrysler Pacifica PHEV has experienced three separate complete losses of motive power at highway speed, each preceded only by a brief dashboard warning to pull over safely. First occurrence: April 18, 2026. Second: May 7, 2026 — vehicle towed to Spitzer Motor City (Cleveland, OH), an authorized Stellantis dealer. Dealer replaced the Power Inverter Module hardware under warranty (R.O. 424
... 63CY). Third occurrence: May 17, 2026 — just five days after the repair. Notably, the battery was at 40% on the third occurrence, meaning the engine had not cycled on, distinguishing this failure from the prior two. The root cause is the internal transmission wiring harness connector short identified in NHTSA Recall 03A (23V-010). Per NHTSA's own ODI investigation (RQ24-004), the software recall remedy does not prevent loss of motive power. TSB 21-008-23 / Warranty Extension XE1 identifies full transmission replacement as the correct fix. The dealer did not perform a transmission replacement. The safety risk is severe — complete, sudden loss of drive power at interstate speeds with minimal warning creates immediate rear-end collision risk. The defect has been confirmed by the authorized dealer. The transmission assembly is available for inspection. No police or insurance involvement. This VIN currently shows zero open recalls, suggesting the incomplete repair was logged as satisfying Recall 03A.Read more

I also notice on the dash board where the panel for your selected gear displays is blank and doesn’t show whether you are in park, drive neutra
... l, ECT. After this occurs I can not drive it any longer until I safely stop the car (most of the time on a busy highway or country road Highway where once this happens it becomes dangerous due to the power loss in the accelerator) and put it in park, I’ve tried to put the vehicle in park, once fully stopped, and try to put it back into drive but the shifter is locked into park and will not let me shift the vehicle, I then have to shut the vehicle completely off and open the driver door to get the backup power cut off as-well to have zero power to the vehicle. Once that is completed I then Re-Start the vehicle where it operates normally again, this situation happens at least twice a week if not 3-4. It sometimes has put my passengers and myself at risk of getting into accidents or struck by other vehicle on the road. my vehicle is still under a warranty through the dealership I purchased it from, but when I ask them about it they say that because there is no prompt on the dash once I get there that they cannot do anything about it, nor do they allegedly know why it’s happening, I’ve asked a few other mechanics I know and they say that they have seen this malfunction before with this vehicle and usually it is a transmission sensor? Or a transmission speed sensor issue? I then relay this message back to the dealer ship and they still act like they don’t know what it is, I truly believe that the dealership just doesn’t want to deal with the issue and I only have 2-3000 miles left under their warranty, I do enjoy the vehicle and respect Hyundai for their great customer service.Read more

I have read this common leak has b

Since the truck was brand new, an error message would light up the dash indicating "Key Fob not detected" This would happen when trying to start the truck and while driving. This has left me stranded several times from not starting the truck and having to wait an hour to get truck to recognize key fob. While driving, truck will go into limp mode until you park, turn off the truck, and restart with the same key fob. Have brought to the dealer many times. they state low battery. I pay for them to put in new battery. before I leave the dealership the problem still shows up. They have replaced the key fob twice now. The last time at 35453 miles. I am writing to formally report a persistent and dangerous manufacturing defect regarding the rear window and seating assemblies in my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado. I have already had GM replace the rear window in 2023, it needs replaced again now in 2026. The rear window seal is failing, allowing a significant amount of rainwater to leak into the cab. Because of this ongoing water intrusion, the stru
... ctural base and brackets of the rear seats have developed severe rust. Furthermore, I am deeply concerned that this constant moisture saturation is creating an unseen mold hazard within the cabin, which poses a direct health and respiratory risk to my passengers. This leak also risks damaging sensitive electrical components and wiring harnesses located under the rear seats and trim panels, potentially causing short circuits and sudden failures of critical safety systems while driving. Many other owners of this generation Silverado have reported identical issues, including cracked plastic frames around the sliding rear glass that cause the leaks. Because this defect compromises vehicle integrity, creates a risk of electrical failure, and poses health hazards from mold, I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate this issue as a potential safety defect requiring a manufacturer recall.Read more

I am reporting a serious safety concern with my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, VIN [XXX] . The apparent systems involved are the hybrid propulsion system, charging/high-voltage battery system, powertrain control system, and/or regenerative braking/deceleration system. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. After prior battery/charging-related issues and recent Jeep recall service, the vehi
... cle displayed a “Service Charging System” warning and the check-engine light came on. While driving home, the vehicle did not decelerate normally when I removed my foot from the accelerator. It felt like the Jeep continued propelling itself or maintaining speed without accelerator input. I drove approximately one mile down my street at about 40 mph, and the vehicle did not slow down as expected unless I applied the brakes firmly. I had to brake harder than normal to slow the vehicle. This created a serious safety risk because the vehicle appeared to continue moving at speed without normal deceleration, which could have caused a crash or prevented me from stopping in time. After the incident, the vehicle also turn off. It took multiple tries and about 20 minutes to turn off. The “Service Charging System” message and check-engine light remained on. The problem has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but I am arranging for the vehicle to be towed/inspected and do not intend to drive it due to the safety concern. The vehicle was recently inspected/serviced by a Jeep dealer for recall-related work before this incident. I am requesting that the dealer/manufacturer inspect the vehicle and preserve all DTCs, freeze-frame data, module update records, HV battery/charging diagnostics, and any available accelerator/brake/propulsion data. No crash or injury occurred, but the vehicle created a serious safety risk. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

On 5/14/2026, while driving southbound on I-95 with my pregnant wife and young daughter, my 2025 Hyundai Tucson (approx. 7,500 miles, purchased new 10/2025) experienced multiple critical safety failures. Two days prior, the heads-up display (HUD) intermittently failed to activate. On 5/14, traveling at 65-70 mph near [XXX] , the brakes auto-applied without driver input. Simultaneously, the instru

Near [XXX] , the brakes auto-applied with full force, locking all four tires and bringing the vehicle from approx. 70 mph to a complete stop on the active interstate. Two trailing vehicles spun out and left the travel lane to avoid rear-ending us. A multi-car pileup was narrowly avoided. The vehicle was taken to Pearson Hyundai in Midlothian, VA. They diagnosed and replaced a faulty wiring harness. Immediately after the repair, driving northbound on I-95 back to [XXX] (5/16), the lane keep assist/lane departure system began pulling the steering wheel into the adjacent lane without driver input, repeatedly and unpredictably at highway speed. The dealer repair did not resolve the all defects. Within a three days this vehicle exhibited: (1) total instrument cluster/HUD failure, (2) uncommanded emergency braking at 70 mph causing two other vehicles to take evasive action (3) uncommanded steering input into an adjacent lane. These failures created immediate risk of serious injury or death. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I had a recall completed in March 2023 for transmission issues. Since January 2026, my vehicle has been in a repair for a part that is backorder. The part is Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM). The part number is 68540646AA for a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude V6 3.2 4x4. I feel that this is unfair and it has caused me and my family undue hardship. After I obtain this part, then other parts such as

This car has well known issues with the infotainment system probably since it came out and nothing has been fixed. There are constant ghost touches/glitching, especially when it gets hotter outside. Now after owning it for a year, Apple CarPlay freaks out. I’ll be listening to music and then suddenly the screen goes black. The buttons still work on the blacked out screen but nothing will pop bac
... k up. I had my dealership take a look and this is an ongoing issue with Honda. I’ve seen car forums talk about the same thing for years and nothing is being resolved permanently. This can be a distraction safety hazard. My other issue is the lane keep assist. It doesn’t detect lanes very well, especially if it’s faded or has sealed cracks. I could be driving the freeway speed limit and then the car suddenly brakes hard. I’m lucky no one was directly behind me when these incidents have happened or else I would’ve been rear-ended. Safety hazard for both complaints.Read more

The vehicle displays an “Engine Maintenance Required” warning message shortly after the air conditioning is turned on. The warning does not usually appear immediately at startup but consistently appears when the A/C system is activated. The vehicle currently remains drivable, but the issue appears related to the engine cooling system and may involve the coolant bypass valve/flow control valve,
... which has been widely reported by other owners of similar model vehicles. The problem raises safety concerns because a cooling system malfunction could potentially lead to overheating while driving. The issue has been reproduced multiple times. A generic code scan at an auto parts store did not show stored engine codes. The vehicle was taken to a Toyota dealership and Toyota customer service was contacted regarding known coverage programs related to this issue, but the VIN was reportedly not included. Warning symptoms first appeared during normal driving and continue intermittently whenever the air conditioning system is used.Read more

Purchased in August 2024, had to get a new battery 2 days after purchase & then went to the dealership January 2025 because my battery kept dying & I was stranded at the airport late night. They acknowledged is has a parasitic draw but did not notate the source. They claimed I needed a new battery when my previous Subaru branded battery was only 5 months old. The new battery was almost $600 which
... is double/ triple a store branded equivalent. I purchased yet another battery but non-Subaru branded since theirs did not last even 6 months. Still have been experiencing the same issue. I pulled the dcm fuse and let my car sit for several days as a test. The battery did not die with the dcm fuse removed. The front speakers and Bluetooth are linked to the dcm fuse so they do not work if it is unplugged.Read more

Instrument cluster failure. I completed a short trip wherein it was working fine. Went back out several hours later to return home at midnight. The instrument cluster had no power and did not function. I am currently driving with no speedometer, no tachometer, no fuel gauge. I am flying blind because of a known defect in Jeep instrument clusters (NHTSA report 24V652000) between 2020-and 2024. Reca
... ll 30b was used to narrowly target other jeeps...but mine somehow does not qualify meaning it is my problem...though it is a well enough known issue that they have a recall on other instrument clusters just failing. As we know from Fight Club they have no intent to do recalls on anything other than the least cost to themselves: “Wherever I'm going, I'll be there to apply the formula. I'll keep the secret intact. It's simple arithmetic. It's a story problem. If a new car built by my company leaves Chicago traveling west at 60 miles per hour, and the rear differential locks up, and the car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside, does my company initiate a recall? You take the population of vehicles in the field (A) and multiple it by the probable rate of failure (B), then multiply the result by the average cost of an out-of-court settlement (C). A times B times C equals X. This is what it will cost if we don't initiate a recall. If X is greater than the cost of a recall, we recall the cars and no one gets hurt. If X is less than the cost of a recall, then we don't recall.” ― [XXX] lub [XXX] I [XXX] (B)(6) INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Safety Issue Summary: I am filing a complaint regarding critical safety defects with my vehicle. The truck displayed warning messages for traction control service and brake system failure on the instrument panel while parked in my driveway, prior to the vehicle becoming inoperable, I experienced dangerous driving conditions including swerving similar to hydroplaning o
... n two separate occasions. Details: The vehicle was picked up on a flatbed on May 11th, 2026 because it would not start or run. When I drove it before this incident, I experienced the vehicle swerving dangerously similar to hydroplaning on two different occasions 5/1/26 and 5/9/26. Upon inspection, warning messages appeared on the dashboard indicating traction control system service and brake system failure. These are critical safety systems. Chevrolet HE Dealership in Wichita Falls, Texas performed a diagnostic and claimed to find only a dead battery and parasitic draw. They refuse to address the traction control or brake system failures and claim they cannot duplicate the issues. They are pressuring me to accept the vehicle without written confirmation that these safety systems have been repaired. Safety Risk: A vehicle with non-functioning traction control and brake system failures is unsafe to operate. I cannot accept this vehicle until these critical systems are properly diagnosed and repaired.Than you for your help in this matter.Read more

On 4/22/2026 while flat towing this vehicle behind my motorhome, it burst into flames. The trip began in [XXX] . Driving south on XXX, I stopped about 120 miles later at a rest stop near XXX. I did a complete walk around inspection. There were no issues, everything looked fine. We continued on and about 20 miles later another vehicle driver was telling me frantically to pull over. I looked a
... t my rear camera and saw the Ford was smoking. This was not due to an improper neutral tow setting. The truck would have burned in the first 20 miles. I have towed this vehicle many times. I know the importance of doing it properly., Thankfully there was a good place to pull over. I tried to extinguish the fire with my extinguisher but it was too hot. I was unable to disconnect from the motorhome. Both are a total loss. I think of all the places this could have happened and how trapped we could have been. By the grace of God, nobody was injured. Yes there is a police report and an insurance claim. There were no warning signs. My braking system runs on its own battery so there was no draw on the Ford battery. Ford did an update on the computer the night prior. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I am writing regarding an ongoing and serious issue with my 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST 2.7L that continues to occur despite multiple visits to the dealership. Recently, as I was leaving my house, I entered my truck and started the vehicle as normal. Immediately after startup, approximately eight warning lights and system failure messages appeared on the dashboard simultaneously. The warnin
... gs included the Check Engine Light, ABS warning, Brake System Failure, Service Steering Column Lock, Service Traction Control, Service ESC, Service Brake Pad Monitor, and Trailer Brake Disabled warnings. At that point, the truck became undriveable. Although I was able to shift gears, the vehicle would not move properly in either Drive or Reverse. Due to the severity of the issue, I turned the truck off and left it parked overnight. The following day, all warning lights and messages had disappeared completely. This situation is extremely concerning because the vehicle appears to fail randomly without warning. I no longer feel safe driving the truck, especially with my children in the vehicle, because I fear it could stop functioning again at any time and potentially create a dangerous situation. I have already taken the truck to the dealership multiple times regarding this issue. However, I have repeatedly been told that they cannot properly diagnose or repair the problem unless the warning lights are actively present at the time of inspection. Since the issue is intermittent, this has made it very difficult to get the truck repaired, even though the problem clearly continues to occur. I am requesting that this matter be taken seriously and investigated further, and because this is a new truck that barely has 7,833 miles on it.as this appears to involve critical safety systems including braking, traction control, steering, and vehicle drivability. I depend on this truck daily and need a permanent resolution to this problem as soon as possible.Read more
