I purchased the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited edition car on 12/20/2025. On 01/03/2026, a warning light came on and said I needed to check my electrical system. I drove 3 miles home and made an appointment with the Hyundai dealership on 01/05/26. I had to wait for three hours in the freezing cold to get the car towed to the dealer. After two days, the dealer confirmed that the ICCU unit had failed and it would be replaced under warranty. One month later, I still do not have my car back, as the part is on backorder. Luckily, we had not taken this car to the mountains 1 week prior, or we would have been stranded in the freezing cold with minimal cell phone reception.Read more

RITICAL BRAKING FAILURE & DEALER NEGLIGENCE: The vehicle exhibits a violent shudder and loss of deceleration during the hand-off between regenerative and friction braking. This defect was first reported to the dealer (Rich Ford) at 35,399 miles (RO #[XXX]) within the Bumper-to-Bumper warranty but was not repaired. THE INCIDENT: On [Insert Date], the braking system failed to decelerate the vehicle
... during a traffic slowdown. The pedal vibrated violently, and the vehicle did not stop. I was forced to swerve across two lanes of traffic onto the shoulder to avoid a high-speed rear-end collision. DEALER NEGLIGENCE: The vehicle was in dealer possession from Jan 12–28, 2026 (16 days). Odometer records prove they only test-drove it for 7 miles. They failed to apply known TSB 23-2209 (Hybrid Shudder) and released the vehicle to me despite active internal ABS Pump Control Codes (C052E and U0418) recorded in the vehicle logs on Jan 22, 2026. REPORTING IRREGULARITY: The dealer coded this latest safety attempt as "Routine Maintenance/Flush" rather than a safety repair, effectively hiding the defect history from the manufacturer and my warranty provider to avoid Lemon Law liability. The vehicle remains unsafe to drive. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

While driving under normal conditions on a dry road (no snow or ice), the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of braking performance while in motion. The vehicle was traveling approximately 10–15 mph and approaching an intersection with a red traffic light. A warning message appeared stating: “Brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer.” Immediately after this mes
... sage, braking performance was significantly reduced. Multiple attempts to slow the vehicle using the brake pedal resulted in minimal deceleration. The stopping distance was much longer than expected for the speed and conditions. The vehicle only came to a stop after the brake pedal was pressed with full force. Shortly after the initial brake warning, multiple additional safety-related systems went offline, including collision avoidance and other braking-related driver assistance systems. Approximately five to six warning messages appeared, indicating a cascading failure of safety systems while the vehicle was still in motion. The driver was able to slowly maneuver the vehicle to the side of the road and park safely. No collision occurred. However, shortly before this incident, the vehicle had been driven on a highway. If the same failure had occurred at higher speeds or in traffic, it could have resulted in a serious crash or injury. The vehicle is relatively new (approximately two years old, low mileage) and has been routinely maintained. There were no prior warning signs before this event. The vehicle is currently available for inspection at a dealership. A preliminary dealer explanation suggested a possible low or discharged battery; however, the cause of the braking failure has not been clearly established. This incident involved loss of braking performance while the vehicle was in motion, presenting a significant safety risk.Read more

AutoNation CDJR Spring instructed me to continue driving the vehicle and rely on a mobile phone app to view speed, increasing distraction and crash risk. Stellantis later instructed me to drive the unsafe vehicle to another dealership, showing disregard for my safety. Problem Confirmation: The defect was diagnosed in April 2025 at AutoNation CDJR Spring while the vehicle was under warranty. The dealer confirmed the cluster qualified for warranty replacement but released the vehicle back to me against my wishes due to parts backorder, despite it being unsafe. Stellantis repeatedly refused to assist after I filed complaints. Inspections: In January 2026, after the condition worsened, AutoNation CDJR Spring again refused service. Tomball DCJR inspected the vehicle, confirmed internal cluster failure, test-drove it and observed the display shutting off, then removed and replaced the cluster. I was forced to pay $111.63 for installation despite the repair being warranty-related. Warnings/Symptoms Prior to Failure: The issue began as water-like droplets or spots inside the cluster glass that could not be wiped off, reducing visibility of safety information. The spots increased over time, visual clarity worsened, and the display eventually went completely black while driving. Summary: Jeep/Stellantis and AutoNation CDJR Spring failed to repair a known, worsening safety defect under warranty and instructed me to continue operating an unsafe vehicle.Read more

I called my insurance and the fire department (incident number: [XXX]). I believe the damage was related to the recall. It was described to me that there was even damage to some wiring, as a result of the fire. I called my insurance, and they towed my vehicle to Larry H. Miller Ford Dealership on September 30, 2025. It was scheduled for its first service on October 1, 2025, but technicians inspected it on October 16, 2025. The repair cost exceeded the vehicle’s value, as I needed a new engine and transmission. After long periods without progress and updates, on January 7th, I was informed by the dealership that I’d either be paid or my vehicle would be repaired, but the final decision rested with Ford Motor Company. The dealership had submitted everything, as a service manager with Larry H. Miller told me on January 7, 2026. I called Ford Motor Company and asked for specific repair dates, but I received no more information than from the dealership. Vehicle Safety Incident & Recall Case Summary In approximately October 2025, while my son was driving the vehicle on Highway 85 at approximately 70 mph, the car suddenly shut off and lost power without warning. ... . As a parent, I am deeply concerned about my son’s safety, particularly given that this power loss occurred at highway speeds without warning. Shortly after this incident, I personally experienced a separate failure while driving the vehicle, during which the car would not accelerate as expected. This created an additional and serious safety concern during normal driving conditions. We brought the vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership for evaluation. The dealership informed us that this issue was associated with a known recall and advised that there was no available fix or remedy at that time. In addition to this recall, the vehicle is subject to two other active safety recalls, both of which also lack available repairs: A recall involving sand or debris in the engine, which may impact engine performance and long-term reliability. A recall involving the high-voltage battery, for which we have since received additional notices advising us not to charge the vehicle and not to park it inside or near structures due to a fire risk. There is currently no fix available for this defect. We selected this vehicle specifically as an electric vehicle, in part because it was intended to be charged and used safely at home and to avoid the ongoing cost of gasoline. The current instructions not to charge the vehicle and to avoid parking it inside or near structures eliminate the vehicle’s intended purpose and expected use. Because of the loss of power at highway speeds, the failure to accelerate, the ongoing safety concerns, and the existence of multiple unresolved safety recalRead more

This is not an isolated issue Enterprise Rent a Car in Rome, New York also stated to me that they had the same issue with a Pacifica that they use for rentals when I mentioned why mine was in the show this was on 2/2/2026 at 4:00pm. Something should be done to fix this issue or at the very least they should have a way to completely turn off the effected system. Nye Dodge in Oneida, New York is doing the repair on my vehicle and can be reached at 315-277-8955 for more information about the cause, and the fix for this issue. I want to reiterate that this is not a one off issue it is a known issue with the Chrysler Pacifica series that should be investigated.Read more

While operating a 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid, the vehicle suddenly caught fire with flames originating from the rear seat/rear passenger compartment area. There was no crash involved. Smoke and flames rapidly spread inside the vehicle, creating an immediate safety hazard and risk of serious injury. I evacuated immediately and emergency services were contacted. The fire department responded and extingu
... ished the fire. The vehicle sustained severe fire damage and was declared a total loss. The fire appeared to start from inside the cabin near/under the rear seating area. The incident occurred without warning and there were no prior signs of mechanical issues immediately before the fire. This failure put the safety of the occupants and the public at risk due to the sudden and aggressive nature of the fire. The vehicle is currently in storage and remains available for inspection upon request by the manufacturer, insurer, or investigators.Read more

This vehicle has been returned to service 5 times. It is currently in service for the same 4 issues that it was taken to service for the very first time on 12/10/2025. This includes inappropriate braking on the interstate, driver window malfunction, the key intermittently stops working, and the connectivity does not regularly work. In addition to these 4 issues, the main screen in the car stop
... ped working and the rear Vox screen has stopped working. Based on state law, Lincoln should have bought the car back, as I have had it for just over 2 months. As of February 2nd, 2026 the car has been returned to service 5 times and has been back to the dealership for service for 37 days and still counting since the original pick up date of 11/21/2025. The dealership has not honored their commitments with black label service. I was upsold on the vehicle for this service. On multiple occasions I have not been provided the delivery that is included. I was told by the assistant manager that this service would include a Lincoln Navigator brought to my location. The GM informed myself and my husband that they do not have to honor that. They offered a car that did not legally fit my 4 children in the backseat. Eventually, after many phone calls, they offered a much smaller Aviator. The service manager stated they they attempted 3 different eyeballs. When questioned on dates that they provided to Lincoln, he became very defensive and hung up on me. My husband and I attempted to meet with him in person at the dealership. After being told that he would meet with us and then waiting 3 hours, we had to leave. The GM did not provide assistance with this, as he stated he was in a meeting. The GM and assistant manager have both stated that we have no legal recourse, as I signed an arbitration agreement.Read more

Car red battery light and made chimes. Only has 25,000 miles on it. Has been at dealer since then with no resolution update.

When cabin heat is enabled, visible vapor/smoke emits from the front trunk area under the windshield cowl and is pulled directly into the cabin through the HVAC intake. The vapor has a chemical/sweet odor consistent with coolant or refrigerant. Smoke enters the passenger compartment, especially when stopped or idling. This occurs repeatedly in cold temperatures and stops immediately when HVAC heat
... is turned off. No warning lights appear. This appears to be a heat pump or coolant system leak upstream of the cabin intake, allowing chemical fumes to enter the cabin air stream. Occupants are exposed to fumes while driving. This is a safety concern due to inhalation risk and lack of driver warning.Read more

The high-voltage battery on my 2020 Nissan Leaf is subject to Recall 25V655. The recall notice states that the battery cells can develop excessive lithium deposits, which increases electrical resistance and can cause rapid battery heating during Level 3 fast charging. Nissan instructs owners not to use Level 3 charging at all until a “remedy” is available. The issue is that the remedy describ
... ed by Nissan is not an actual repair of the battery defect. Nissan states it will install software that monitors for “state-of-charge fluctuation” and, if detected, will prevent the vehicle from restarting or recharging in order to avoid a thermal incident. This means the defect inside the battery cells is still present, and the car may disable itself if the defect begins to appear. The recall materials also state there is no warning before overheating occurs. This creates multiple safety concerns: • The underlying battery defect remains uncorrected. • The vehicle can become immobilized (unable to restart or recharge) if the software detects the condition. • Loss of Level 3 charging capability affects the ability to travel safely or plan charging when needed. • A battery fire risk exists during Level 3 charging if the defect is not detected in time. Nissan’s documents state that the software is meant only to prevent the “progression” of a thermal incident, not to repair the defective battery. I am concerned that my vehicle contains a known hazardous defect that has not been physically repaired and that the software-only response is inadequate to ensure safety. I am filing this complaint so NHTSA is aware that the remedy being offered does not address the internal battery defect itself and may leave owners exposed to continued safety and reliability risks.Read more

ICCU needs to be replaced and is faulty.I had a warning on Friday and was able to jump my car, then a complete engine failure Sunday 2.1. The part is on back order, replacedment estimate not given (internet research says 1 week to 3 months) and I am in line for a loaner car even thought all parts are under warranty. The car is less than 2 years old and has less than 24k miles.
