The testing was conducted with all USB electrical ports disconnected and random battery testing conducted. I have included a log and will send photos of the battery tests if requested.Read more

Incident #1: Car suddenly and without warning had complete loss of power, with gas engine shutting off and only using battery power. Car was traveling at 45mph in morning traffic. Pedal was pushed to the floor, but car would only go a maximum of 20mph. Warning dash lights then appeared saying "Hybrid Malfunction/Pull Over Immediately/Turn off car". I was able to pull off road and turn off car and
... then turn back on. Car ran normally the 2 miles back home. Incident #2: 2 days later, while driving my kids to school the car again, suddenly and without warning had complete loss of power, with gas engine shutting off and only using battery power. Again, warning dash lights: "Check Hybrid System. Stop Safely!". I did so and car ran normally back to my house (distance approx: 2.5 miles). I immediately called KIA of Beaverton and they said to have it towed right away. Once at dealer, they were unable to diagnose any issues and said that no codes showed up, but also said that the car "deleted codes". Car was in shop for 2 days and determined "car operates as designed." I picked up the car. Incident #3: 7 days later, with kids in the car, again car had complete power loss with no warning. Warning lights again told of "Check Hybrid System. Stop Safely!" Pulled over (in heavy Friday rush hour traffic) and turned off car. Turned on again, but this time car drove for less than a quarter mile before complete power loss happened again with all warning lights. This time we took video of the car not having power, all the warning lights etc. as evidence. We turned off the car and upon turning it on, it instantly had no power. We pulled car over and had to park it that night at a local business for towing. Car was towed again to Beaverton KIA. Again, dealer said they were not able to replicate problem after driving 250 miles on it. Insisted we pick up car, despite numerous comm's saying how unsafe we felt taking it. Dealer claimed KIA told them to remove .5 Qt of oil.Read more

The incident involved a 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer, purchased new in late February 2025. ... est. While driving in Cambria, New York, the dashboard illuminated with multiple warning indicators and the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power steering and braking. The brake pedal traveled fully to the floor with no resistance and no braking effect. Steering effort increased dramatically. The driver was only able to avoid a crash due to favorable road and traffic conditions and was able to coast to a stop and pull off the roadway. This failure posed an immediate and serious risk of injury or death to the driver and others. The problem had occurred previously in the form of repeated warning messages. Beginning within the first week of ownership, the vehicle displayed “Service the Charge System Vehicle May Stall” warnings and since then has appeared hundreds of times. The vehicle was previously towed to an authorized Chevrolet dealership, where we were informed that General Motors identified the issue as a known software-related problem and advised that the vehicle could continue to be driven while awaiting a future update. The catastrophic failure occurred after this guidance. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Chevrolet dealership both prior to and following this incident, and General Motors has been involved through dealership communication. No police or insurance inspection has occurred, as no collision resulted. Based on the repeated warnings, dealer statements, and nature of the failure, the best assessment is an electrical or software-related malfunction, though the precise root cause remains UNKNOWN and requires investigation.Read more

The vehicle experiences a severe loss of power, placing it into a reduced-power or limp mode that prevents the vehicle from exceeding approximately 10 mph. The issue has occurred repeatedly despite multiple repair attempts. The battery was replaced initially, after which the vehicle broke down while still at the dealership. The service department removed the new battery & reinstalled the original
... battery, at which point the vehicle temporarily operated normally. On a subsequent visit for the same reduced-power condition, the dealership replaced the throttle body chamber and multiple gaskets. This repair resolved the issue only for a short period of time. During a third service visit, I paid approximately $3,000 for additional repairs; however, the same issue occurred again, & I was unable to safely leave the dealership parking lot. The vehicle is currently available for inspection, testing, & servicing upon request. All prior inspections & repair attempts are documented in dealership service records. My safety & the safety of others were placed at significant risk because the vehicle unexpectedly loses power while being driven. The vehicle abruptly slows & cannot exceed 10 mph. This occurred while driving on the highway during heavy 5:00 p.m. traffic, as well as during normal roadway driving. A sudden and severe reduction in speed in traffic creates a high risk of rear-end collisions or other serious accidents, particularly if surrounding drivers are unable to react in time. Yes. The dealership where the vehicle was purchased is the same dealership that has serviced the vehicle on all three occasions. Each time, the dealership has inspected the vehicle and represented that the issue was repaired. The A/C evaporator core in my 2020 Dodge Charger Hellcat has failed twice within a short period of ownership. The first failure occurred at approximately 20K miles in 2022, when the air conditioning suddenly stopped blowing cold air. The dealership diagnosed a leaking evaporator core and replaced it under warranty. On [XXX] at approximately 50k, the exact same failure occurred again — loss of r
... efrigerant and no cooling. The vehicle again required replacement of the evaporator core, a repair that involves removing the entire dashboard and is extremely labor-intensive and expensive. This appears to be a recurring defect rather than normal wear. I have learned that many other Dodge Charger and Challenger owners report identical evaporator failures, often multiple times, suggesting a possible design or manufacturing flaw with the HVAC evaporator used in these vehicles. Loss of A/C may seem like a comfort issue, but in extreme heat it can create a driver-safety risk due to overheating, window defogging problems, and driver fatigue. I live in Arizona where daytime temperatures regularly climb above 80 degrees, even in the winter. A major component like an evaporator should not repeatedly fail in a late-model vehicle. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether 2019–2022 Dodge Charger/Challenger vehicles are experiencing an abnormal rate of evaporator core failures that may warrant a recall, extended warranty, or technical service bulletin. Repairs Performed: • Evaporator core replaced in 2022 at Bill Luke Chrysler / Dodge in Phoenix, AZ • Evaporator core replaced again on February 4th, 2026 at AAA Auto Repair in Phoenix, AZ • Refrigerant leak confirmed both times • Dash removal required for repair Supporting Documents Available: Repair orders, dealership invoices, diagnostic reports INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I was able to coast into a parking lot at which point an even larger warning light appeared and the vehicle then lost all electricity completely. I again called Hyundai Roadside Assist and they sent someone from AAA a few hours later who determined that the car was unable to be “jump started” and would have to be towed to the local dealer, Manly Hyundai. The dealer reported back to me that the component that failed is called an “ICCU” and is some kind of controller related to the charging and motors of the electric drivetrain. It is available to be inspected at the dealer currently, Manly Hyundai. My safety was put as risk because the car became essentially inoperable while driving downhill and gave no warning signs ahead of time before the lights lit up on the dash and I lost control. ... the time. Within 3-5 minutes, I noticed there were flames coming from inside my truck at the center dashboard area. We attempted to extinguish the fire ourselves, but the fire department was ultimately called. If my son had not gotten out of the truck to get into the UTV with me, he would have been in the back seat when the fire started. The truck was pulled close to my barn when the fire started, which caused damage to the barn. A fire investigator hired by my insurance, and the fire marshal came out to my home to inspect the truck, and both determined it was not my fault the truck caught fire. There were no warning labels indicating the drivers side battery should not be used to jump start vehicles. The fire investigator stopped at a local ford house, and none of the employees were aware the drivers side battery should not be used to jumpstart vehicles either. I found information online that mentions fires occurring in 2025 & 2026 due to cracked fuel return lines, and engine heater block problems. The fire investigator stated if I was able to find that information online, that the manufacturer likely knows there are problems, and chose to sell the vehicles anyways. My truck is currently waiting to be inspected by a Ford Engineer to try and determine the cause. This fire put myself, my son, barn, and animals at risk. If Ford knows about any potential fire hazards, they should have never released the truck for sale. Due to the fire, I had smoke inhalation, and visited my PCP a few days after. I'm still waiting for the fire departments report.Read more

... as a "parasitic battery drain," indicating permanent moisture-induced damage the dealer cannot resolve after 60+ days. SAFETY RISK: Saturated chassis-level wiring creates an imminent risk of short circuits and electrical fire. Since the flooding, the vehicle has displayed random warning lights (ABS, Traction, Transmission), signaling system instability. The battery's inability to hold a charge suggests constant, unintended electrical flow through compromised circuits. This poses a severe risk of sudden component failure, loss of vehicle control, or electrical fire while in motion or parked. CONFIRMATION: Confirmed by Land Rover South Orlando (Dealer #40578). Technicians verified drainage failure caused the flooding. The vehicle has been in their possession since Dec 2024. The dealer confirmed that even after replacing modules, the vehicle is non-functional due to an unresolved parasitic draw. SYMPTOMS: Sudden loss of audio/top operation, standing water in footwells, random safety warning lamps, and rapid battery depletion.Read more
