Passenger back locks stopped working first. Then driver side back locks. Now both driver and passenger front locks will not lock/unlock automatically. This is scary when not being able to get in/out of vehicle for an emergency. I have reviewed multiple complaints and it appears this is a very common Nissan problem that needs to be addressed before it becomes a bigger safety problem.

We were picking up my wife’s 2022 BMW 228xi after having tinting applied to windows. As I was in the office paying for the work, my wife put her purse in the car and sat in the driver’s seat. She noticed the seat was too low and that her booster pad had been moved to the passenger seat. She had not touched any of the car's controls and was starting to turn to exit the car so she could place
... the pad in the driver’s seat. As she was beginning to turn, she heard the engine start and the car went into a full throttle acceleration which pushed her against the seat back. Before she could react to try to control the car, it was speeding down the parking lot and in 4 to 5 seconds reached the end of the lot and went over an approximate 40 foot bluff. Airborne, she passed over State Road 1460 and impacted a tree in the forest beyond the road. 911 was called and shortly after the Fire Department arrived to remove my wife from her car. An EMS unit transferred her to the Trauma 1 ER at a nearby hospital to treat her serious injuries. Vehicle experienced immediate loss of motive power while in motion at 45 mph after "Stop Safely Now" alert. This is a repeat power failure. The vehicle was in service for 75+ days (Dec-Feb) for this exact defect. The Ford service center said they replaced the “battery controller” yet the issue recurred. The car previously flagged this alert while in motion 2 times prior (one on the highway go
... ing ~65mph and on another major street going roughly ~45 mph). As a Ford Reacquired Vehicle (Buyback), the failure to resolve this catastrophic electrical fault creates an extreme risk of crash and entrapment in traffic, putting myself, my family and the drivers in vicinity at significant safety risk. The car is currently at a different Ford Service Center. They have been able to reproduce the issue and are currently running diagnostics to identify a resolution.Read more

Technical Incident Report: Electrical Component Failure Reference: Technical Service Bulletin NTB19-004 Part Number: 873D6-5AA6A (Control Unit/Actuator) Incident Overview On 2/16/26, the vehicle was being operated by the primary driver when a suspected electrical failure occurred. Upon subsequent inspection, the 873D6-5AA6A control unit and its associated wiring harness were found to be severely
... compromised by thermal damage. Detailed Observations: Thermal Damage: The control unit housing showed significant melting. Residual smoke was present during the inspection, indicating a high-temperature event caused by a short circuit or component failure. Harness Integrity: The wiring harness insulation was melted and charred. Due to the extreme heat, the plastic connector had become brittle and lost all structural integrity. Component Failure: During the attempt to disconnect the unit for safety inspection, the connector shattered, leaving the internal wiring of the harness exposed. Documentation: High-resolution photographs have been captured to document the state of the melted housing, the shattered connector, and the exposed wiring.Read more

The vehicle previously received a manufacturer dash wiring recall repair. After the recall repair was completed, the vehicle began experiencing intermittent and cascading electrical and communication failures across multiple integrated systems. Affected systems include Apple CarPlay, the DVD system, in-vehicle camera systems, CabinWatch, and repeated “MOST network unavailable” error messages.
... These failures occur intermittently and result in multiple systems disabling simultaneously. The vehicle was inspected by a Honda dealership, which confirmed the issue involves wiring within the dash harness. The dealership stated the affected wiring is not sold or serviceable separately and that correction would require replacement of the entire dash harness, but that this portion of the harness is not included in the original recall coverage. Because these systems share common power and communication pathways, failures cascade across multiple modules. When the camera system fails, rear view camera functionality and related warnings are unavailable while backing up, reducing the driver’s ability to detect obstacles, pedestrians, or children behind the vehicle. When CabinWatch is unavailable, the driver is unable to visually monitor children seated in the rear rows while driving, which affects situational awareness and the ability to respond quickly to unsafe conditions inside the vehicle. These failures also impact driver information systems and create intermittent loss of critical visual feedback, increasing driver distraction as systems drop out unexpectedly while the vehicle is in operation. The condition began after the recall repair and appears to be related to or a continuation of the original recall defect. The vehicle remains available for inspection, and the condition has been confirmed by a manufacturer-authorized dealer.Read more

From the beginning of ownership, this vehicle has experienced repeated infotainment and system failures that directly impact driver safety, including: The infotainment screen pixelating, freezing, and restarting while the vehicle is in motion A documented incident where the system emitted a loud noise for over 30 seconds before restarting Screen restarts while backing up, preventing the rearview c

Despite this, I have repeatedly been told that “no issues were found,” even though the problems persist and continue to worsen. A vehicle system restarting while driving—especially when it disables safety features like the rear camera or affects drivetrain behavior—constitutes a serious safety hazard. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle, and my confidence in its reliability has been completely undermined.Read more

The CAN BUS connector (found in the glove box area) fails periodically and without warning. It affects everything on the vehicle; it stops the car from shifting, car won't start up, windows stop working, all of the warning lights turn on, etc. The issue seems to be a manufacturing defect; the soldering cracks after a while, so the low voltage applications malfunction. Many people have noticed the

My vehicle suddenly developed electrical problems and would not start. Before it completely failed, I began seeing warning lights on the dashboard, including a PARK warning and an engine oil light. The vehicle had been operating normally earlier that day, but later became totally unresponsive. The doors would not unlock electronically and the car would not start. This happened after a period of h
... eavy rain. When the vehicle was inspected by a Honda dealership, they found signs of long-term water intrusion and corrosion affecting electrical components and wiring. I later learned that the vehicle had previously been repaired for water intrusion through the rear hatch/tailgate area, which may have allowed moisture into the vehicle over time. The car is now inoperable. This raises safety concerns because electrical failures like this can lead to sudden loss of reliability, inability to start the vehicle when needed, or potential failure while driving. The issue has been confirmed by a dealership service department, and the vehicle remains unusable. I am concerned that water may be entering through the tailgate or rear hatch area and damaging electrical systems. I have also seen similar complaints involving water intrusion and electrical failures in this model.Read more

The vehicle has twice displayed a “Service High Voltage System” warning followed by “Reduced Acceleration – Drive With Care.” When this occurs, the vehicle enters a reduced-power (turtle) mode that severely limits acceleration. Cabin heat also stopped working, and the vehicle would not charge beyond approximately 25%, restricting driving range. OnStar diagnostics reported a critical erro
... r. The vehicle and diagnostic history are available for inspection upon request. The first incident occurred while driving around town. Although I was close to home, the reduced acceleration created concern because the vehicle could not respond normally to traffic. The second incident was significantly more dangerous and occurred in heavy traffic and on the freeway about 40 miles from home during heavy rain. The limited acceleration made merging and maintaining a safe traffic speed difficult, placing myself and others at risk. I have only been able to get the dealer to take the vehicle in one time, specifically for this issue, and that was because the warning lights were still on at arrival. Staff observed the warnings at check-in, but by the time the vehicle reached the service area, the lights had cleared. The dealer stated they could not perform repairs without active warnings, though stored codes reportedly indicated a low-voltage condition. Additionally, a clicking noise from the wheel area began about 1,500 miles ago and occurs consistently when turning, similar to a CV axle concern. During a separate visit, the dealer put in writing that they could not do anything about the noise and did not diagnose or inspect it, which left me uneasy about potential drivetrain safety. The intermittent high-voltage fault, reduced acceleration, charging limitation, loss of heat, and unresolved drivetrain noise create ongoing safety concerns due to the unpredictable nature of the failures.Read more

Initially, the engine would intermittently fail to start and at times would not start at all. I took the vehicle to a certified Chevrolet service center, where the battery was tested and found to be functioning properly. They later concluded that a faulty front-view camera was disrupting the electrical system and ordered a replacement (my first visit was Friday, 9/26/25). I took the car home for t
... he weekend due to family obligations. On Monday, 9/29, while driving back to the service center, the engine suddenly shut off on a local road. The brakes went completely to the floor for 3–5 seconds before the engine restarted—just before I nearly collided with another vehicle at a red light. I reported this immediately, and the dealership kept the car for further testing. On Thursday, 10/2, they informed me they found no additional issues and believed the camera was the root cause. However, the problem persisted. On Sunday, 10/5, while stopped at a red light at Hawthorn St. and Memorial Dr., the engine shut off again as I began to accelerate. The brakes sank to the floor, and I had no steering control for approximately 5–7 seconds before the vehicle restarted. My wife and I were extremely shaken, especially with our children in the car. On Monday, 10/6, we contacted roadside assistance to tow the vehicle back to the service center. After additional testing, we were informed that the battery had failed this time and was replaced. However, replacing the battery does not reassure us that the engine and braking system will not fail again while driving, or the brake failure would happen again when the battery is low - which poses a serious safety risk to our family. When my wife called GM to report this issue, all they offered was 200 points worth of rewards....We originally bought this car for safety, but not this has been compromised and we no longer feel safe. First, very hard time trying to file a complaint with Dodge, they make it hard to find info. To make it short, I have a Dodge Durango RT, only 83,000 miles. There needs to be an investigation to see if other customers are having these problems because then it's a manufacturing issue. I know they are a huge company and I just a person to them. I am filing a complaint regarding a premature failure of a critical safety-related lighting component on my 2022 Volkswagen Atlas. The driver-side headlight daytime running light (DRL) has failed. After inspection by an authorized Volkswagen dealership (Momentum Volkswagen), I was informed that the DRL is not a serviceable component and that the entire headlight assembly must be replaced. This i
... s concerning for several reasons: 1.The vehicle is a 2022 model year and has been properly maintained with no accidents or external damage. 2.The DRL is an integrated LED component that should reasonably last the life of the vehicle. 3.The failure of a non-replaceable LED strip forces replacement of the entire headlight assembly, resulting in excessive and unreasonable repair costs. I contacted Volkswagen Group of America requesting goodwill assistance, as this appears to be a premature component failure rather than normal wear and tear. Despite escalation and review with a supervisor, my request was denied. The only assistance offered was a 20% dealership discount, which does not adequately address the issue. I believe this situation reflects: •A potential design defect (non-serviceable LED component) •Unreasonable repair costs due to lack of modular repair options •Failure of a component that should not fail under normal conditions in such a short time frame Desired Resolution: I am requesting that Volkswagen provide goodwill assistance to cover a significant portion (preferably full coverage) of the headlight assembly replacement. Additionally, I encourage Volkswagen to review this design approach, as it places an unfair financial burden on customers for failures of non-serviceable components. I am seeking a fair and reasonable resolution consistent with customer satisfaction and product reliability expectations.Read more

I got my car towed after the situation as I was terrified to drive in case it happened again. The dealership told me since no lights or codes came up they can’t find anything wrong. They gave me my car back but I do not feel safe driving the vehicle.Read more

My ABS module failed, which is a very well know issue with the 2014 to 2018 models. When the ABS module failed I was driving the vehicle and it went into fail safe mode while I was on the freeway service road. The speedometer stopped working and the vehicle would not go over about 20 mph. The vehicle was fine one minute and then I had no control of how fast I was going. I was with traffic that was
... going 60 mph and it could have been extremely dangerous for me or other drivers. The vehicle has been at the dealership since October 3rd, 2025 and has not been drivable due to this issue. It has not been inspected by anyone other than the dealership. There were warning lights but I was told that it was fine to drive until the part was available. It is currently on a national backorder for the last 18+ months without an estimated arrival date. The failure first appeared in June of 2024 and the part has been on backorder since then.Read more

Vehicle Information: 2024 Kia EV6 (VIN: [XXX] ) Mileage at time of failure: 14,005 Complaint Description: My 2024 Kia EV6 experienced a complete failure of the 12-volt battery system despite the high-voltage traction battery showing approximately 80% state of charge. The vehicle became completely inoperable without warning. The 12-volt battery was fully discharged and the vehicle would not ente
... r READY mode. The vehicle required a jump start to become operational. After being jump started, the 12-volt system did not appear to charge properly, suggesting a failure of the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU), which is responsible for converting high-voltage battery power to maintain the 12-volt battery. This failure created a significant safety concern because: The vehicle became completely disabled without warning. This failure occurred while driving in heavy traffic, it created a hazardous situation. The vehicle’s electrical systems, including safety systems, depend on the 12-volt battery. There are known reports of ICCU failures in Kia and Hyundai electric vehicles that result in identical symptoms (sudden 12-volt battery discharge despite adequate traction battery charge). This suggests a potential systemic defect rather than normal battery wear. I am filing this complaint due to concern that this issue represents a broader safety defect affecting multiple vehicles and may require investigation or expanded recall action. Late last year I reported that while towing a trailer, the dash indicated that the trailer had disconnected from the trailer as looking back I noticed the lights were off when the vehicle lights were on. Before I could pull over to check the connection, the lights turned back on and the warning light extinguished. This happened 3 times when towing the trailer that day. The dealership "reprogramm

This submission is an additional report related to NHTSA complaint #11714381. At approximately 55,000 miles, my 2021 Chevrolet Blazer experienced a sudden throttle body failure while driving. The vehicle entered reduced engine power/limp mode without warning and acceleration was significantly limited. This created a safety concern while driving in traffic, particularly when merging and crossing i
... ntersections. Diagnostic code P2101 (Throttle Actuator Position Performance) was present. A Chevrolet dealer confirmed an internal throttle body failure and replaced the throttle body assembly. Although the repair was completed, this failure occurred at relatively low mileage for a critical engine control component. A sudden loss of acceleration can pose a safety risk depending on traffic conditions. Since filing my original complaint, I have identified multiple similar reports online and in owner forums describing premature throttle body failures in GM vehicles with similar symptoms (reduced power/limp mode and limited acceleration). This suggests the possibility of a broader pattern involving this component. I am submitting this additional report so that NHTSA has a complete record of the incident and potential pattern of premature throttle body failures. If this issue is widespread, it may warrant further review or investigation as it affects vehicle acceleration and safe operation.Read more
