The ICCU system in my 2022 Kia EV6 failed for the SECOND time on the highway. The car threw an error telling me to "Check the electrical system" and "Pull over safely immediately" or something similar. Had I not made it to the shoulder, I would have been completely stranded in the middle of the highway, creating an incredibly dangerous situation. This is the second time this has happened with my E
... V6 in less than 50,000 miles on this car. I had to call a tow truck. I confirmed with the Kia dealership the ICCU system had randomly failed and was required to be replaced *AGAIN*. My wife was in the car with me and was freaked out. She doesn't feel safe in it because there's no rhyme or reason to when it happens. KIA says it is a known issue, and confirmed it was the second time this has happened to my car. No symptoms prior to it happening. We were just driving and then suddenly the car lost power and the warning displayed on the dash.Read more

Date: February 22, 2026 VIA CERTIFIED MAIL FCA US LLC Customer Care P.O. I am writing to
... formally report a persistent and dangerous safety defect affecting both of my Chrysler 300S vehicles. Description of Defect: In both vehicles, the factory-installed backup camera has failed completely. When the vehicles are shifted into reverse, the infotainment screen remains blank or black. This failure significantly reduces rearward visibility, creating a severe safety risk for pedestrians and property, especially given the known blind spots of the 300S model. Legal and Safety Context: As you are aware, Chrysler has issued multiple recent recalls (including Recall 24V-436) regarding rearview camera software failures. Furthermore, for the 2018 model, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 111 mandates a functional rear visibility system. The identical failure across two different model years suggests a fundamental defect in the camera hardware or wiring harnesses used in this vehicle line. Requested Resolution: As a long-term supporter of the Chrysler brand, I am requesting a Goodwill Repair for both vehicles. I ask that Chrysler authorize a local authorized dealer in San Diego (Chula Vista/National City) to inspect and repair these camera systems at no cost to me. Please respond to this request in writing within 10 business days. I have also opened a report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to document these failures. On February 3, 2026, while driving in a high-traffic turning lane, my Hyundai Kona Electric vehicle suddenly lost propulsion and would not accelerate. The vehicle shut down without warning and could not be restarted. Traffic was building behind me, creating a safety hazard. I felt unsafe due to surrounding vehicles expecting movement, I contacted the police for assistance. The vehicle had to be to
... wed from the roadway. The vehicle was transferred between 3 dealerships before being diagonsed. On February 16, 2026, the issue was diagnosed as a motor position sensor failure affecting the propulsion system. The vehicle has remained inoperable since February 3, 2026, and there is no repair ETA due to parts availability. The vehicle remains at the servicing dealership and is available for inspection upon request. There were no prior warning lamps, dashboard messages, or noticeable symptoms before the sudden loss of propulsion. This incident involved a sudden failure of the vehicle’s propulsion system while operating in active traffic and presented a significant safety concern.Read more

NHTSA Safety Complaint – Narrative VIN: [XXX] | Vehicle: 2026 BMW X3 | Purchase Date: December 2025 | Mileage at First Failure: 360 miles | Incident Date: January 14, 2026 | Crash: No | Injuries: No | Vehicle Moving: Yes I am filing this complaint regarding a serious, recurring defect in my 2026 BMW X3, purchased new in December 2025 in California. Defect: While driving at highway and surface s
... treet speeds, the instrument panel goes completely black without warning, causing me to lose visibility of vehicle speed, fuel level, warning indicators, navigation, and driver assistance displays while in motion — a direct safety hazard. Frequency: This occurs spontaneously on multiple occasions with no specific trigger and no audible alert. Repair History: The vehicle has been presented to an authorized BMW dealership in Berkeley, CA twice for this defect. Both attempts failed. Cumulative days out of service: 31. A replacement headunit ordered from Germany was promised by February 20, 2026 and has not arrived as of February 22, 2026. Systemic Defect: At least one other NHTSA complaint documents the identical failure in a 2025 BMW X3 — and that owner experienced the same blackout in a BMW X3 loaner vehicle, strongly indicating this is a systemic defect across the 2025/2026 X3 redesign. Safety Impact: Loss of the instrument panel eliminates speed monitoring and disables critical warning indicators, increasing collision risk — particularly at highway speeds. Relief Requested: I request NHTSA open a formal investigation into this defect across 2025/2026 BMW X3 models and compel BMW to identify the root cause and issue a recall or remedy if warranted. Additional Information: I have sent formal lemon law demand letters to the selling dealership and BMW of North America under the California Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and am documenting all records accordingly. My 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie was parked in my garage. I started it to let it warm up before driving. The garage started filling with smoke and the smell of fire. I backed the truck out of the garage and noticed flames on my backup camera. The 7 way plug was on fire. I quickly shut the truck off as soon as I got it out of the garage. I put water on the fire to get it out before it took over the back en
... d of the truck. I had drove the truck the day before and filled it up with gas so my life and my son's life was as risk knowing there is a electrical issue. It also was parked in our garage when it started smoking and it could of burnt the whole garage and house down if I didn't get it out of there as fast as I did and noticed it burning. I had contacted 3 dealer ships and they all said sorry we can't help you. I decided to contact Ram directly to file a claim. Ram told me specifically not to take it to any dealer and they would look into it. 3 weeks later they sent out an investigator to my house. They took pictures of the truck and the damage. They plugged in a code reader and it didn't throw any codes. I asked the guy for the report and he said he couldn't give me one. I have since heard back from Stellantis and their email said things like this happen and they have declined any further assistance associated with this fire. They than said to contact the insurance. A fire is a safety issue and there is major concerns of safety. I don't feel safe when they said it was safe to drive after they did the investigation. I took it to a dealer ship to have it repaired and it started to smoke twice driving it to the dealership.Read more

I am submitting this complaint about Safety Recall C4B / NHTSA 24V‑896 for my 2018 Ram 2500 (VIN: [XXX] ). I am active‑duty military living in Virginia; the truck is registered in Tennessee. FCA’s recall notice says the brake hydraulic control unit (HCU) may fail, causing intermittent then permanent loss of ABS, ESC, and traction control, and that this “may cause a vehicle crash without p
... rior warning.” My truck shows as affected, but I have been unable to get the recall repair. The notice also states that the remedy is “not currently available” and that FCA will contact me when it is. As of February 2026, more than a year after the recall was initiated, I am still being told that parts are unavailable and there is no firm ETA for when the repair can be performed. In the meantime, I continue to drive with a known safety defect FCA has already acknowledged. My truck’s ABS and ESC lights cycle on and off while driving, consistent with the defect description. This creates real concern about whether ABS/ESC will function during emergency braking or low‑traction conditions, especially given that I use the truck for commuting and towing. I am also aware that FCA is reimbursing owners who have already paid out of pocket to replace failed HCUs, which suggests that replacing the HCU is the recognized fix, even as owners like me are told there is “no remedy available” under the recall. This appears to leave many vehicles on the road with a known safety defect and no timely, practical way to obtain the promised free repair. I respectfully request that NHTSA review FCA’s handling of Recall 24V‑896, evaluate whether FCA is providing a remedy within a reasonable time, and consider any enforcement or additional oversight needed to ensure parts are supplied and repairs completed promptly for all affected vehicles. I had just gotten a safety inspection 15 days prior to this event to renew my registration. The car had been driving perfectly. Me and my wife had drove to my daughter’s school to pick her up. The school is about 10 minutes away from our home. Once we left the school we got about 3 minutes down the road and started smelling a strong electrical/plastic burning smell. Suddenly the car stalled and
... shut off. Then it cranked back up. Then it shut off. It did that several times. Smoke started pouring out from under the hood. I was barely able to get the car off the road and into a parking lot before it completely died and stopped cranking and stalling. I immediately got my family out of the car and had them run to safety. There was several other family’s with their children who had also just been picked up all around us. So I ran to car and popped the hood. There was so much electrical smoke coming out from driver side area. It appeared to be coming from the hybrid high voltage system under the ECM. I quickly disconnected the negative terminal on the 12v battery to shut down the electrical systems on the car. I have called Infiniti and I am dropping car off tomorrow to have a full inspection done to find out what happened. I am reaching out to you because I know that there is documented reports of this exact thing happening to other cars and that there was a recall R21B4 that they did a software update for. I believe that that update did not work to prevent this catastrophic event from happening. I don’t know if they will try to act like this was not related to the recall so I am trying to cover all my bases here by filing this complaint with y’all as well. I also have an open claim with Infiniti corporate. They are trying to just say that I no longer have a warranty for my car but this is a safety concern not just a warranty issue. I will be taking my car to Infiniti Clear Lake in Houston Texas tomorrow for them to look at it.Read more

Vehicle and purchase details Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe VIN: 1C4RJXR6XRW251767 Purchase date: September 13, 2024 Selling/servicing dealer: AutoNation West Location: Golden, Colorado Key timeline 09/13/2024 – I purchased the vehicle new from AutoNation. By November 2025 – The vehicle had approximately 21,537 miles, still under 24,000 miles. October 2025 – The vehicle was service
... d for recall 56C and was out of service for several days. Early November 2025 – Jeep/stellantis announced recall 76C (and also 68C) affecting my VIN, involving significant safety concerns and instructions limiting how the vehicle can be used/charged. At that time, my vehicle had roughly 21,537 miles, well below 24,000 miles. As I understand it, no actual fix was available at that time. Late 2025 into early 2026 – I continued to use the vehicle subject to Stellantis’ restrictions and with the open safety recalls still impacting my ability to use the vehicle normally and its market value. Approximately three weeks before today (around early February 2026) – AutoNation took the vehicle into its shop to perform recall 68C work. The Jeep has now been in the shop for roughly three weeks with no firm completion date. Stellantis is paying for a rental, but it is not comparable to my Jeep. Current status and problems As of February 22, 2026, the Jeep has about 27,900 miles on it. My Jeep is unavailable to me and has been at the dealer for about three weeks; I have no clear estimate for completion or for a final resolution of the safety defects. The combination of unresolved safety recalls (including recall 76C, announced when the vehicle was still under 24,000 miles), limitations on use/charging, and extended time without the vehicle has substantially reduced both my ability to use the vehicle and its trade‑in value. AutoNation has declined to offer a fair trade‑in or a comparable loaner vehicle while repairs drag on.Read more

The vehicle is a rental vehicle. It experienced two incidents of sudden loss of propulsion within the first two days of operation. During both events, the vehicle became completely unresponsive to accelerator pedal input and would not move despite being placed in Drive. I attempted to shift the vehicle into Park and then back into Drive, but propulsion was not restored. No warning lights, malfunc
... tion indicators, or system messages were displayed before or during the failure. The first incident occurred while exiting a car wash. The vehicle became immobilized in an active traffic lane and would not respond to throttle input, creating an immediate risk of rear-end collision. Vehicles were approaching from behind and I narrowly avoided being struck. The second incident occurred later the same day in a parking lot while the vehicle was charging. Again, the vehicle became unresponsive without warning and would not move. The intermittent and unpredictable loss of motive power presents a serious safety hazard because it prevents the driver from maintaining control and safely operating the vehicle in traffic conditions.Read more

1. System Failed: Power Train (Transmission). Component Failed: The 6R80 6-speed automatic transmission, specifically the internal lead frame and the direct drum. Inspection: No, the failed unit was replaced on December 19, 2025, but itemized diagnostic reports and repair invoices from both a Ford dealer and an independent shop are available for inspection. 2. The vehicle experienced sudden, unexp
... ected downshifting and a temporary loss of power while in motion. These incidents occurred frequently and randomly, particularly while accelerating or traversing inclines, creating "unsafe driving scenarios" where the vehicle could have been rear-ended or lost traction due to abrupt gear changes. Furthermore, the vehicle eventually entered "limp mode," where it would "buck" during shifts and fail to accelerate under load, leaving the driver vulnerable in traffic. 3. Yes, by both. Independent Center: Super Tech Automotive confirmed on December 11, 2025, that the transmission line pressure dropped from 158 psi to 20 psi under load, causing the vehicle to go into "limp mode". Dealer: South West Ford Service Department verified the concerns on December 16, 2025, documenting a "torque converter shudder" and "direct drum failure" with "excessive metal debris in fluid". 4. Yes. The vehicle was inspected by a manufacturer-authorized dealer, South West Ford Service Department, on December 16, 2025 (Service Advisor Ryan Forbis; Transmission Specialist 'Dietrich'). 5. Yes. Symptoms: The symptoms first appeared in August 2025 as a "sudden, temporary loss of power or unexpected down-shifting". Warning Lamps: Initially, no warning lights or error codes were produced, which prevented early detection during multiple diagnostic attempts. Later Symptoms: On December 11, 2025, the SES (Service Engine Soon) Light finally appeared when the truck entered "limp mode". Prior to the total failure, the transmission also exhibited "harsh/jerky downshifts" and would "hang up in gear".Read more

While driving my vehicle on Monday, February 16, 2026 I heard a loud pop come from the front of the vehicle. Right after that smoke began to come through the hood vents. I stopped the vehicle to inspect and at that point the engine compartment was burning heavily. I could barely get out of the vehicle and away before the whole front end of the vehicle was engulfed with fire and heavy black smoke.
... It looked as if the fire started somewhere on the righthand side of the engine compartment because the right front tire was the first to blow out in the fire. The vehicle is with the insurance company to inspect, but it was in perfect running condition, all maintenance performed. There were no dash warning lights that came on, no odd sounds heard and the vehicle ran until I stopped and shut it office. There has to be something that was wrong with the manufacturing of this specific engine to make a loud pop and burn as hot as it did. I wanted to report this before the vehicle is sent away to be demolished due to it being a complete loss.Read more

The driver-side power sliding door latch, motor and cable system on my 2019 Honda Odyssey Elite failed. Honda performed Recall A88 (sliding door handle cable repair) in 2021. After this repair the door began intermittently failing to close fully and would close about 80% before the sensor triggered it to reopen. This continued until this week when the door suddenly stopped latching completely. The
... automatic door buttons no longer work and the door can only be moved manually. I believe my vehicle should also be included in recalls Z33 and O36 addressing sliding door latch failures affecting similar 2019 Odyssey vehicles. The failed components are available for inspection upon request. This defect creates a serious passenger safety hazard. Because the door will not latch, it opens while driving. The automatic function does not work and the door can be moved manually but will not latch. This creates risk of passenger ejection, especially children, and the possibility of the door opening during a crash. The vehicle is unsafe to operate. Yes. The failure was reproduced and confirmed by a Honda dealership that inspected and diagnosed the sliding door failure. The vehicle was inspected by a Honda dealership and I was charged a diagnostic fee. Honda refused recall or goodwill coverage because my VIN is not included. I request the repair be performed free under recalls Z33 and O36 and the diagnostic fee reimbursed. I am waiting for NHTSA inspection and request Honda be required to include my vehicle and repair it at no cost. Before total failure the door would close about 80% and automatically reopen. When it stopped working this week, the dashboard displayed a “Left Sliding Door Problem” warning and the vehicle produced continuous beeping while driving.Read more

Sudden Unintended Acceleration (SUA) I was pulling into a parking spot in a parking structure. I was coasting into the spot and applied the brakes. Upon releasing the break and allowing the car to coast, it unintentionally lurched forward with some acceleration even though I did not press on the gas petal. This results in the car lurching forward and hitting the parking garage wall. A call to t

I was driving home in the rain for about 75 minutes and when I arrived in my driveway I saw steam coming from the front grille area. It wasn't due to a high engine coolant temperature so I decided to carefully open the hood and check for the source. I saw water inside the bottom of the engine bay behind the radiator steaming from the heat of the engine. A few seconds later, the engine stalled and
... the following message appeared: "Engine Stopped, Steering Power Low" which came on with a check engine light, red battery light, and steering light. I used my scan tool and obtained the code: P0171, System Too Lean. After doing research, I've come up with a conclusion to the potential cause. Starting with the 2022 model year RAV4 non-hybrid (and onwards to the 2025 model year RAV4), the air intake inlet was redesigned from the prior one in the 2019-2021 RAV4 non-hybrid models, as seen in numerous comparison images online. This new design presents a dangerous fault. When driving in rainy conditions, especially at higher speeds with mist kicked up from cars in front, the air intake will take in water. The water will flow to the air filter and then reach the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF). The MAF sensor monitors the amount of air entering the engine and sends signals to the car's computer to help determine how much fuel to send to the engine to maintain an ideal ratio for optimal efficiency. Considering that water is getting to the MAF sensor, it thinks that the water is excess air, so less fuel is sent to the engine as a result. Since I came to a stop in my driveway, the engine is now at its idle speed and only commands a small amount of fuel to remain running. Now, when combined with the water, that lower fuel flow is practically cut off, leading to the stall. This happened to me before when driving in the rain, but in more dangerous conditions in stop-and-go traffic. Toyota must follow up on T-TT-0763-24 because it has been well over a year since their initial investigation.Read more

The vehicle has a faulty Hands free link module which runs the battery down when the vehicle is not in use. Acura has been aware of this problem since 2005. Horn, randomly sounds off
Incident date: Jan 17, 2026
There was a previous recall for my vehicle July 21, 2015 R36 15V•459. The recall was handled at the dealership to fix the recall. But now I'm experiencing the exact symptoms of Recall R36. Steering Wheel: •Ghost right blinker - When engaged, all lights are on and in working condition and blink at a normal rate on the outside of the vehicle. •No menu navigation •No cruise control •Can
... 't control radio •Can't control phone calls •No working horn •Active airbag light Symptoms are constant all angles of the steering wheel. There is no noise coming from the steering column. Airbag light is on all the time. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety is put at risk for having a failed horn, I cannot alert others. And with the airbag light on, either the airbag can spontaneously deploy causing an accident or if I'm in an accident, they won't deploy at all. If I can't access my menu, I'm unable to see any vehicle notifications or alerts for my engine, transmission, and safety systems, including Perform Service reminders, tire pressure warnings, oil life percentage, low oil pressure and potential emissions or electrical issues. No, it has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center yet. No, it has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. First appeared February 2, 2026Read more

After owning this Telluride for a year the engine started stalling. I took it into the nearest Oil change company, and they informed me that the oil was completely out and dry. I always stay up to date with my oil changes, so this was a huge shock. There was no light that ever came on stating an oil concern and there was no light that came on even when the engine stalled. This company sent me dir
... ectly to Kia stating they have seen this several times with this vehicle and they have oil consumption issues. I went to Kia and they had me do the oil consumption test. When completed they stated I was within the "standard" oil consumption levels. I asked why the car didn't even have an oil light or engine light come on as a warning and they had no answers for me. Had a light come on I would've taken it to be looked at prior to having the engine stall on me which was a major safety issue. Fast forward, I ended up and purchased another car and gave the Telluride to my husband. I drive a lot for work and he doesn't, so it made more sense to help with the oil. We are now having to put at least 3 quarts of oil in it in between oil changes. And he has still experienced the engine puttering. Both times with our kids in the car, steering becomes difficult and he has to pull off the road. Once he turns it off and restarts, it seems to be fine. Another mechanic told us that they anticipate a recall to come out with the 2021 Telluride soon since they have already recalled previous years for the same issues. It is absurd to have to put in 3 quarts of oil in between oil changes. The fact that no warning lights have ever come on is safety concern. The car randomly stalling is a safety concern. Kia needs to do something about this before someone gets injured.Read more

I was going 35 MPH, normal operation speed and there was no extreme weather or road conditions. I slowed down to get into the center turn lane ended up coming to a complete stop due to on coming traffic. I was stopped for about 30 seconds to maybe a minute when I finally had enough clearance to make my turn. When I pressed the accelerator it began to accelerate but stalled out almost immediately.
... So I pressed and depressed the accelerator rapidly several times then it finally accelerated. When it did finally accelerate it accelerated much to quickly like it just took off. I’d like to say that this excessive acceleration was terrible but it saved my passenger from getting slammed by the now on coming traffic due to the lack of power. This is not the first time it has happened it does it allot when the weather gets warmer as well as when exiting the highway coming to a complete stop and then when trying to accelerate it stalls I’d say 25% of the time. I’ve taken it to multiple repair shops and they all say they can’t find the problem. I know their is a problem and I’ve read of this happening to many other owners so why is there no recall on it yet I’m surprised no one has been seriously injured or worse. In my opinion I feel like the manufacturer has complete disregard to the consumers safety. It’s unsettling.Read more

I bought my 2026 Honda Civic a month ago and hadn't driven it very far. At a stoplight, the car stalled and various warning lights came on--for the brake, the CPU, and then almost all the warning lights came on. I was stranded at a light and afraid for my life and the safety of th other motorists. After numerous attempts, I got the car started again, but it stalled twice again on the way to the de
... alership. The problem was inspected by the Honda Dealership, who claim that the ordeal was because of a "puncture" in the radiator which was caused by a road event, and which somehow overwhelmed the CPU. I have tried to take this up with the dealer and Honda corporate, but see no other recourse for letting them know the danger I was put in. As for the "road event," neither myself or anyone else in the car remembers encountering or hearing or experiencing anything resembling an event that could have ruptured the radiator.Read more
