I have had many issues with this vehicle. Most concerning is that the other night while driving down the road at night, my car blacked out and I had no lights inside or headlights outside while driving in the dark. My back hatch button only works when it wants to. My screen freezes every once in awhile and also makes horrible noises very frequently. I’ve had one case of my screen freezing on a l
... onger drive with my seat warmer on and the seats getting too hot and burning me. My safety features shut off all the time. My cruise control wouldn’t work at all on a 4 hour drive last month. When I get my oil changed they tell me under my hood is way louder than it should be for a vehicle this old. The dealership did a factory reset hoping it would help but I’ve already had issues with the hatch door not working appropriately, the sound coming from my screen, and notifications that my safety features have been shut off.Read more

The ABS module failed in June of 2025. Ram originally told me the part was on back order 6-8 months. In December they said there were 100 ABS modules on order for our area. In January 2026 they informed the mechanic that is doing the work that there is still parts on back order and it could be another 1-2 months. Today 2/25/26 the mechanic was told there are 265 modules on back order and it can be
... another 2-3 months. The truck now has a throttle body control issue that is stemming from the ABS issue. The truck is not operable at the moment because of this back order. I have been waiting for 7 months for this part and there are no alternatives on the market. If Ram does not get a part available for me I will either have to find a used one that hopefully isn't going to fail or be out of a $50,000 truck. This is a problem that many people have had according to all of the RAM forums. RAM needs to find a solution because the consumer already paid for the vehicle so parts should be available.Read more

I remote started my truck, and when I got to it there was smoke and a flame coming from the rear power window. The remote start activates the rear defrosters, which started the electrical issues. I shut off the engine, and a loud pop followed, which was the shattering of the driver side rear window. The flame went out, and could have easily ignited the tarp covering the truck bed. There were no wa

This leaves me with a shattered window in the back, which is unsafe for visibility, and a bill to pay due to manufacturing errors for a feature in the truck. The rear window is all melted, and the glass is chipping away.Read more

Odometer Fraud. The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact purchased the vehicle on October 27, 2025. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale by an individual who was a registered dealer. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 105,000. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to immediately sta
... rt. Several attempts were needed to start the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact that there was exposure of red wiring on the underside of the vehicle, which could be a potential safety hazard. The dealer also informed the contact of an oil leak, a previous ABS replacement, a previous transmission replacement, and that the engine was not the original engine. The dealer also informed the contact that the mileage on the vehicle was not what had been documented at the time of sale and that the actual mileage was 205,000. The contact confirmed the actual mileage as 205,000 in a Carfax Report. The failures persisted. One morning, while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to a certified mechanic to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the flex plate had failed. The starter was replaced; however, the vehicle failed to start. The contact had spoken with the seller, who had taken possession of the vehicle but had not provided any additional repairs. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The odometer fraud was not reported to any other Government Agencies.Read more

On 12/06/2025, I purchased a 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe from a Chrysler Jeep dealership in Myrtle Beach, SC. Recall 68C (NHTSA 25V741000) had been published on 11/05/2025 — one month prior to my purchase. The recall involves high voltage battery cells with separator damage that may cause a vehicle fire while parked or driving. A Stop Sale order was active on this VIN at the time of sale. I raised th
... e recall and fire risk during the purchase. The salesperson responded that "a fire could happen in any car" and continued to minimize my wife's specific safety concerns through sustained pressure until we agreed to purchase. No documentation was provided showing the recall had been remedied prior to delivery. The recall remains OPEN as of today. Third-party vehicle history data confirms Stop Sale: YES tied to 68C. We cannot charge the vehicle or use it as intended. We are unable to obtain timely service — the dealership reports months-long wait times with no loaner vehicle available. The vehicle has not been inspected or repaired for this defect. No warning lamps were present at purchase. The vehicle was available for sale and delivered to us despite the active Stop Sale designation. The safety risk is ongoing. We are parked away from structures per NHTSA guidance and have ceased charging the vehicle. This complaint is being filed as part of a formal legal record.Read more

My 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe LS has experienced repeated service issues within the first year of ownership. A primary concern involved the steering system. The steering wheel was noticeably off-center while driving straig

However, improper steering alignment raised safety concerns regarding vehicle tracking and stability. The vehicle has been inspected and repaired by authorized service providers. On April 24, 2025, I plugged my Kia EV6 into my 48-amp hardwired ChargePoint HomeFlex at 7:26 PM. Around 10:30 PM I heard a noise outside but did not investigate. At 12:25 AM I noticed I had not received a “charging complete” notification. The Kia Connect app showed the vehicle at 74% and no longer charging. The ChargePoint app was unresponsive. The next morning I found the charger’s 60-amp
... breaker had tripped. After resetting the breaker and rebooting the charger, the EV6 would not start charging and displayed no “Charging started” or “Charging unsuccessful” message. I then attempted to charge using a portable Tesla Level 1 charger on a 120V GFCI outlet. The EV6 briefly announced “Charging started,” but the dash showed no charging data. The outlet’s GFCI breaker tripped. After resetting, the breaker immediately tripped again when reconnecting the vehicle. I attempted to drive to a nearby DC fast charger. Upon shifting into drive, the vehicle displayed “Check electric vehicle system” and entered power-limited mode (would not exceed 20 MPH). I returned home. While backing into my driveway, the vehicle triggered a red alert with “Stop vehicle and check power supply.” The vehicle was towed to a Kia dealership. They diagnosed a failed ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit) and high-voltage fuse. The ICCU recall issue is known for this model. Repairs took over two weeks due to parts delays. The ICCU and high-voltage fuse were replaced. The ICCU failure also damaged my home ChargePoint charger, which required replacement under warranty.Read more

1. The engine starter motor (specifically the pinion starter) has failed, and the auxiliary battery is also showing reduced capacity (only a portion of its 660 cold cranking amps). The vehicle is currently at a service center where the technician has diagnosed these issues. The components should be available for inspection upon request, as they have not yet been replaced. 2. The failure of t
... he starter motor and battery primarily affects the vehicle's ability to start. While this could potentially strand you in an unsafe location, the information provided does not indicate any specific safety incident or risk that occurred during operation. No direct safety hazard has been reported. 3. Yes, a technician has diagnosed the problem and confirmed a fault code in the drivetrain related to the failed starter motor. The technician also identified the auxiliary battery's reduced output. This confirmation comes from a service center, which could be a dealer or independent shop. 4. The only inspection mentioned is by the technician at the service center. There is no indication that the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others have inspected the vehicle or components. 5. Yes. Prior to the failure, when starting the car in the early morning, a "drive train service" message appeared on the display, advising you to visit a service center as soon as possible. This warning was the first symptom of the problem before the starter ultimately failed and the battery drained. This aligns with the technician's diagnosis of a drivetrain fault code related to the starter motor.Read more

For the past few days, our 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 (approx. 83,000 miles) has been unable to charge using AC charging (Level 1 or Level 2). The failure is repeatable and consistent across multiple chargers: two separate home Level 2 chargers, the Hyundai-provided Level 1 charger, and a neighbor’s Level 2 charger. In each case, charging either fails to start or stops shortly after initiating. DC fas
... t charging continues to work normally. Component/system suspected: The problem appears related to the vehicle’s onboard AC charging system (possible ICCU, onboard charger/OBC, charge port/inlet, or related high-voltage charging components). The vehicle and components are available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: This creates a safety concern because we cannot reliably charge the vehicle at home or at most public charging locations (which are predominantly Level 2 AC). This increases the risk of unexpectedly running out of charge and becoming stranded in unsafe locations, especially where DC fast chargers are not available. Reproduction/confirmation: The issue has been reproduced on multiple independent AC chargers, making it unlikely to be caused by a single EVSE/charger. A dealer appointment is scheduled for diagnosis and confirmation. Warning lamps/messages: When attempting AC charging, the vehicle reports a charging failure/unsuccessful charging condition (exact message UNKNOWN). No prior warning lamps were noticed before the issue began (UNKNOWN). This issue appears to be widespread based on numerous similar owner reports of AC charging failure on Ioniq 5 vehicles while DC fast charging still works, suggesting a potential systemic defect in the onboard charging/ICCU-related hardware.Read more

Category: Recall Reimbursement Problem NHTSA Complaint Description I am filing a complaint regarding General Motors’ refusal to reimburse an out-of-pocket repair related to Safety Recall N150042 on my 2009 Hummer H3 (VIN: [XXX] ). On December 31, 2025, I paid $946.06 out-of-pocket to correct the defect covered by Recall N150042 (blower motor connector module). The repair was performed at Colema
... n Buick GMC Cadillac in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. A complete reimbursement package was submitted to GM. GM has denied reimbursement, claiming that this recall was previously repaired in 2016. However: • No documentation has been provided to support that claim.
• No repair order number has been provided.
• No servicing dealer or repair location has been identified.
• No proof of recall closure documentation has been produced.
• No warranty claim record has been provided. Despite repeated requests, GM has refused to provide any evidence that Recall N150042 was completed in 2016. The defect was present in 2025 and was corrected by a GM-authorized dealership. If the recall had truly been completed in 2016, documentation should exist and be readily producible. GM is refusing reimbursement of $946.06 without providing supporting documentation of prior recall completion. This appears to involve either improper recall recordkeeping, improper VIN recall closure, or failure to comply with federal recall reimbursement requirements under 49 U.S.C. § 30120. I respectfully request NHTSA review of GM’s recall documentation and reimbursement practices related to Recall N150042. After submission, download or screenshot your confirmation number for your escalation packet. If you would like, I can now prepare: * A shortened version (if the online form has character limits) * A legally intensified version * Or a version framed specifically to trigger recordkeeping review rather than just reimbursement review INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

My husband was driving on a small road and we were going about 25mph when he tapped the brakes the car jumped forward and the brakes did not catch. We lunged forward almost crashing into another car. No warning lights appeared. Driving conditions were normal, dry roads. Brought it into the dealership again for the same issue that we brought it in for less than 30 days ago.

My 2022 Nissan LEAF (VIN: [XXX] , approximately 24,000 miles) is subject to an active safety recall involving the high‑voltage battery and risk of fire during DC fast charging. This includes NHTSA Recall Campaign No. 25V‑655 (Nissan Recall No. R25C8), which relates to battery overheating during Level 3 (DC fast) charging. Related prior campaigns include 24V‑700 affecting similar Nissan LEAF
... battery systems. Nissan has instructed owners not to use Level 3 fast charging but has failed to provide a timely repair or firm remedy date. I have been waiting [X months] with no confirmed resolution. The restriction significantly limits vehicle range and usability, increases charging time, and creates ongoing inconvenience and safety concerns. Despite the seriousness of the defect, Nissan has not offered a loaner vehicle, compensation, or alternative remedy. During an extreme cold event in Interior Alaska (–44°F), the vehicle experienced a sudden emissions‑system failure that triggered an EPA‑mandated Limp Mode, limiting the vehicle to 5 MPH on high‑speed highways. This created an immediate life‑safety hazard because it was impossible to maintain a safe speed or exit the roadway due to snow berms. Prior to the failure, the vehicle displayed
... “Service Emission System” warnings and multiple DTCs related to the reductant heaters and sensors. A dealership technician later confirmed a “burnt pin” at the reductant pump connector, consistent with thermal‑electrical overload. This failure mode matches GM’s TSB 21‑NA‑006, describing connector overheating in cold climates. After the repair, the vehicle continued to exhibit safety‑critical symptoms, including harsh downshifts, delayed engagement, and jerking during deceleration, consistent with Recall 26V083000 (rear‑wheel lock‑up risk). The vehicle also continues to emit an electrical burning odor in cold temperatures, consistent with Recall N192206310 (block‑heater fire risk). The only GM dealership in the region issued a “Termination of Business Relationship,” preventing access to all recall and warranty repairs. This has created a 321‑mile “Service Desert,” making it impossible to obtain federally mandated recall remedies. The vehicle remains unsafe to operate due to unresolved transmission, electrical, and propulsion issues.Read more

I am a disabled veteran reporting a failed recall remedy and a dangerous safety defect in a 2024 Dodge Hornet GT. This vehicle was previously serviced under NHTSA Recall 25V246000 (Rear Visibility System), where the display module was reportedly replaced/updated. On January 17, 2026, while driving at slow speeds, the center infotainment screen suffered a total failure and went blank. This failure
... resulted in the immediate loss of the rearview camera and all primary safety/vehicle interfaces, which is a direct violation of FMVSS No. 111. I provided video evidence of the total screen failure to the service department at Southern Dodge Jeep Ram Alfa Romeo in Norfolk Virginia. While they confirmed the failure occurred based on my footage, they stated they could not replicate the issue during their inspection and informed me there was "nothing they could do." They refused to keep me in a safe loaner vehicle, forcing me to choose between driving a fundamentally unsafe vehicle with my young child or incurring massive personal expense for a rental. Due to the manufacturer’s inability to provide a permanent remedy for a federally recalled safety defect, I was forced to sell the vehicle at a significant loss. I am filing this to urge an investigation into the effectiveness of the current remedy for Recall 25V246000.Read more

On November 21, 2025, while driving at approximately 60 mph and with approximately 15,685 miles on the vehicle, my 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 suddenly experienced a loss of automated systems including adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and forward sensors. The failure occurred without warning. The following day, the 12V battery was completely dead and the vehicle required a jump start to oper
... ate. The vehicle was diagnosed with a failed ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit). The ICCU was replaced by the dealership on January 6, 2026, under warranty. There were no crashes or injuries as a result of this incident. The sudden loss of driver assistance systems at highway speed poses a significant safety risk, as drivers may be relying on these features and have no warning before they cut out.Read more
