I took it to the Ford dealership and they diagnosed it as having a parasitic draw from the 12 V battery when the car is shut down so when you go to get into the car if the battery is dead, they will fix it for $425 however, this problem was a recall in 2013 and my car did have a recall done to it. However, the issue is still going on therefore I feel as though the customer should not be charged. M
... y car broke down going up the canyon and it told me to pull over safely, which I did going up the hill, but it was on an exit and it was a dangerous situation as I could not even turn on my flashers. This has been a known issue with the Ford C max since 2013 and since their software program then did not correct the problem and now they want to update the software why should the cost come from the Consumer?Read more

While stopped at a traffic signal, the vehicle failed to restart when the light turned green. On another occasion, the vehicle stalled during operation and would not start. The engine would crank but there was no ignition. This created a safety risk because the vehicle was disabled in traffic and unable to move out of the roadway, increasing the risk of a rear-end collision or other crash. The ve
... hicle was towed to a dealership for inspection. The dealer diagnosed a failed Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The diagnosis indicated no spark and that the ignition coils were not receiving signal, although the crank sensor signal was present. The PCM was replaced, and the vehicle started and operated normally after replacement. No additional wiring, fuse, or grounding issues were identified. There were no prior warning lights, dashboard messages, or drivability symptoms before the failure occurred. The failure happened unexpectedly at approximately 52,889 miles. The replaced PCM is available through the servicing dealership if inspection is requested.Read more

This is my 8th report. Just after my 7th report, in May 2025, I had my tires rotated at 25,000ish miles. The car still did not record that still shows the last rotation at 8,000 miles. Furthermore, I was told at Discount Tire that I needed new tires because the tread was so thin. I was aghast...a new Tesla with tires that wear out at 25,000 miles? I was told that Tesla does not provide adequa
... te tires for the weight of the car, and that I could buy higher quality tires next time. Now I understand why I kept having flats in the right front tire, despite rotation: all 4 tires were inadequate for my car! I asked if I could wait until my next rotation and he said I could probably make it...but they can't let me leave Discount Tire with tread 4/32nd inch thick. I think I was at 5 or 6 /32nds. The price of appropriate replacement tires is roughly $1,500. Additionally, I just downloaded a software update; here's the first screen of the Release Notes: (uploaded below) Are you kidding me? They still have not fixed the cruise control, and instead of fixing the charge port, they add another step to sidestep the broken one. I'm hoping you will investigate and recall this car. On the morning of January 23, 2026, the ICCU Assembly and fuse failed when driving on a freeway in moderately heavy traffic. I was driving about 55 mph when I heard a pop from somewhere behind me. A warning message came on the display to check the electrical system along with a battery symbol. The car lost power. Losing power like that on a freeway was not at all safe. It could only go about 25 mi
... les per hour. I had to drive on the shoulder of the freeway with my hazard lights flashing until I reached an exit ramp to get off the freeway. I parked on a side street in a residential area where I felt safe, turned off the car, and waited. I turned it back on. The message was still there so I called for a tow. The 12-volt battery was completely dead by the time it got to the dealers and had to be jumped to be able to park it. The original ICCU had already been replaced in November of 2024, so this was a failure of a replaced part. The car was at the dealer for 19 days before it was repaired due to the wait for the parts to be shipped. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The ICCU and fuse failed but I don't have the part since it was replaced by the dealer. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Losing power on a freeway when cars are traveling at high speed is not at all safe. I could have been rear-ended. Luckily I was able to get to the freeway shoulder without incident and travel on the shoulder to get to a safe place. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. They diagnosed it and replaced the failed part. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Unknown. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No. The warning message popped up at the same time as the loss of power.Read more

When driving the car this winter, noticed the smell of something burning. After that, the heated steering wheel stopped warming. Finding Confirmed customer concern. Attempted to activate the heated steeri
... ng wheel and found the light to come on for roughly 4-5 seconds then shut itself off. Scanned the vehicle and found 2 fault pertaining to the heating element and steering wheel having an open circuit. Removed the airbag and visually inspected all connectors for the steering wheel. Found the 2 pin connector from the steering wheel to the clock spring to be stuck in the clock spring. Further removed the steering wheel and trim pieces around the steering column and visually inspected the clock spring. Found the 2 pin connector between the steering wheel and the clock spring to be melted together and noticed the wires were getting hot to touch when activating the heated steering wheel. Back probed the connector between the clock spring and the heated steering wheel connector and found less than 2 volts present. Monitored and found while the steering wheel was being moved left to right the voltage would fluctuate dramatically. Recommend replacing the air bag clock spring and steering wheel due to melt damage and further monitor voltage and functionality of the heated steering wheel and other accessories. Highly recommend not operating the heated steering wheel until repairs have been made. Could cause more damage to the surrounding components.Read more

On Saturday at approximately 5:30 p.m., while driving on a two-lane city street with vehicles around me, my GMC Sierra began malfunctioning. As I attempted to safely pull over, the vehicle began stuttering and then completely stalled in the middle of traffic. Cars swerved and honked to avoid hitting me. Fortunatel
... y, no collision occurred, but the situation was extremely dangerous and frightening. AAA towed the vehicle to the GMC dealership. When I informed them of the incident, I received a text asking whether an over-the-air update had been performed prior to the stall. I confirmed the vehicle had received an update within the past three months. I was then told there is a bulletin stating that after an over-the-air update, the vehicle may suddenly lose communication with multiple modules and stall. The foreman indicated this was likely the cause and that they were consulting Technical Assistance. I asked when it is considered safe to drive a GMC vehicle following an update, as I was never warned that the vehicle could suddenly lose power and stall without notice. I was told they were investigating further. Yesterday, I was informed that engineering directed them to replace the ECM (Engine Control Module) and the Fuel Pump Control Module, with the ECM expected to arrive next Wednesday. I have not been given a confirmed timeline for completion. This appears to be a serious and known issue within GMC, yet there has been no recall and no warning provided to consumers. I have a 2025 Hyundai Kona Limited. On [XXX], around the afternoon on Sunnyvale, California, while exiting [XXX] headed to Lake Tahoe, the liftgate bolt that attaches to the body had buckled mechanically as the system did not back away when a flashlight that came out of a travel bag was blocking the way to have it closed. The car computer thinks the liftgate is open even though the lock is secured
... . The car computer allows to drive without seatbelts secured or closures ajar for a few seconds at low speed but then it automatically with little warning engages the electronic handbrake while driving. I was driving on a highway in a middle lane when the car engaged without my consent the electronic handbrake locking the wheels and I almost got rear ended and killed by a semitruck. I had to floor the gas pedal and steer to a shoulder to request a tow. Since it was a long weekend before Presidents Day, I had the car taken to the nearest dealer in Modesto California. Their service department invented a lie that due to a side crash, which was a failure of the collision mitigation system that happened months ago, is the cause and that it is my fault even though the driver admitted responsibility but it is an unrelated issue. There should be a way of overriding the car computer so it does not engage the electronic hand brake on the middle of the highway, specially at night as this creates a road hazard that can lead to death. I replicate the issue with a rental, a Hyundai Tucson, they use the same gas strut and bolt that in my opinion has a very narrow gage. As you can see in the picture, the passenger side bolt is fine, the driver side is buckled. The side accident that happened on May 2025 was on the passenger side but the liftgate is fine; at any rate both sides should be deformed not just one if that were to be the case but it is not. Around October/November 2025, the vehicle began having intermittent steering issues that have progressively worsened. The steering wheel becomes stiff or feels stuck, and at times it jerks on its own before correcting. Other times I must pull harder to get it to respond, causing over‑correction and difficulty maintaining my lane. This has happened at various speeds, including 65–70 mph on the
... interstate, and I nearly collided with another vehicle due to sudden loss of steering control. The vehicle also has ongoing electrical malfunctions. The center screen glitches, causing the heat/air settings to scroll on their own, the radio to constantly scan, and the touchscreen and knobs to stop responding. The navigation system shows incorrect locations, sometimes placing the vehicle in another state or in the ocean. The system has also made random phone calls on its own and has added a second call during an active call without input. During one incident while turning at an intersection, the vehicle lost power and shut off mid‑turn. I coasted to the side of the road and restarted. At the same time, the screen blacked out and flickered, and the ignition button malfunctioned. No warning lights appeared. The battery has died multiple times and has been replaced several times, and software resets have not resolved the issues. These problems were intermittent at first, making it difficult to take the vehicle to a dealer, but they have recently become more frequent and severe. While researching possible causes, I discovered that NHTSA has an open investigation involving similar steering and electrical failures in this model. The combination of steering malfunction, electrical instability, uncommanded inputs, and an engine shutdown presents a significant safety risk.Read more

As an aside one of the front parking sensors will randomly go off which can often cause me to turn off

I have taken my car to my local dealership for the Service Campaign 976 (Oil Gasket leak) back in Nov 2023. Ever since then my car has had starting issues until one day it needed a jump start in 2024 during the summer. Didn't think anything of it at the time, until the beginning of 2025. Car needed a jump start in the winter before leaving for work in the morning and before going back home from wo
... rk. My brother who is a auto mechanic suggested I needed a new battery by now so I did that. Once I replaced the battery on my car I noticed that I didn't have headlights, power steering or heat working in my car. He came to my home and checked my engine and noticed that my alternator was covered in oil. I remembered that I took my car to the dealership for this issue with the Service campaign. I've been back and forth with this issue between the dealership and corporate to look at this issue. The dealership can't provide any photo proof or documentation stating what work was done. The dealership claimed that Hyundai doesn't need photo proof as of 2023 and started needing it in 2024, they simple state that the work was done and sign the car off on the recall. I don't see how this isn't a safety issue when the description of the campaign says that my vehicle can shut off while driving causing a crash. I have a family that I drive in this vehicle and our safety isn't being a concerning issue with this matter because "It's outside of the warranty" that shouldn't matter if the dealership can not provide any proof that work was done besides putting a oil shield on the vehicle. The head gasket leak didn't seem to be resolved if the alternator is saturated in oil enough that it doesn't hold a charge.Read more
