The auto high beam is widely known to be so bad it behaves the opposite of how it should. It frequently blinds other drivers when it should not turn high beams on, often blinding them in the last few seconds before passing, causing a dangerous situation, not to mention the possibility of drivers thinking it was done on purpose maliciously. This has led to near road rage experiences. The high beams

Powertrain/engine performance (acceleration control): vehicle struggles to accelerate when pressing the gas. Transmission / drivetrain (gear engagement / shift control): vehicle drops from Reverse into Neutral without driver input (unintended gear disengagement). Water intrusion: ongoing water intrusion, power tailgate was already replaced due to water erosion, when it rains or snows water gets in
... to vehicle resulting in a musty/moldy smell and driver side mat soaking wet. Yes — the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The loss of acceleration / hesitation / jolting creates a risk of being unable to merge, cross intersections, or accelerate in traffic when needed. The unintended shift from Reverse into Neutral can cause loss of intended vehicle control/movement while reversing (driveway/parking lot risk), increasing collision risk with nearby vehicles, pedestrians, or property. Reverse → Neutral: Reported to dealer multiple times; confirmation varies by visit (intermittent concern) Stellantis Customer Retention states they spoke with the service manager and confirmed the repair history and dealer visits, not necessarily a physical engineer inspection.Read more

On 3/3/2026, I brought me JEEP 4XE to the Jeep dealership in Paris, Kentucky to have the 68C recall performed. The Jeep dealership used version #7 of the 68C recall instructions to updated all software modules and then to perform a 7 mile test run to engage the electric engine and to stress the vehicle per the instructions documented in the recall instructions. Document is identified as: * High V
... oltage Battery * Reference: 68C/NHTSA 25V-741 * Revision: 7 * Edition: February 2026 * Details: Additional DTC added to the end of Section B. BPCM software update After picking vehicle up from dealership, I proceeded home via a state highway Route 68 (Paris Pike). The roadway is a 4 lane divided highway and has a speed limit of 55mph. I set my vehicle to HYBRID mode and then placed it on cruise control as I had done numerous times over its 25,000 miles. During the drive there were occasional rolling hills and inclines. I gauged the hills to be about a 1% grade on average but never exceeding 2% grade. During these inclines, the gasoline engine engaged and the RPM gauge on the instrument cluster registered 3000RPM. This excessive engine RPM had NEVER occurred before the 68C factory recall procedure. In all other instances of the engine engaging, the RPM would engage at 2000RPM. I contend that the the engagement of the gasoline engine on these small inclines was NOT warranted and that the excessive RPM's of 3000 is not normal and was never experienced prior to the 68C recall fix. I am submitting this information for review and documentation. Video of the instrument cluster gauge showing the RMP gauage and the display panel showing the engine and battery kW used were taken to document the process. I believe that the engagement of the gasoline engine at 3000RPM will cause excessive wear of the engine and is a direct result of one of the software updates that was used to complete the 68C recall.Read more

While driving approximately 70 mph on I-10 in Louisiana late at night, my 2020 Hyundai Kona EV displayed a “Check EV System” warning while I was on the highway. There were no safe areas or emergency shoulders available to pull over, so I continued driving toward the nearest exit. Approximately 15 minutes after the warning appeared, as I attempted to exit the highway, the vehicle suddenly lost
... power and rapidly slowed. The vehicle came to a complete stop and could not accelerate, move forward, or reverse. This created a serious safety risk because the vehicle lost propulsion while traveling at highway speed. The vehicle had approximately 62,000 miles at the time of the incident. The vehicle was towed to Giles Hyundai where the dealership diagnosed an internal temperature sensor and resolver failure. Because these components are integrated into the drive system, the dealership replaced the entire traction motor assembly. The repair cost was approximately $9,000. The sudden loss of propulsion at highway speed created a dangerous situation for both the driver and surrounding traffic.Read more

What happened? While driving my 2025 Honda Odyssey, the engine failed to restart during an Auto Idle Stop event at a 4-way stop/intersection. When releasing the brake to take my right-of-way, the engine stalled completely. The vehicle became immobilized, the power steering went heavy/stiff, and the brake pedal became difficult to depress. I had to manually cycle the ignition by shifting to "Park"
... and pressing the "Start" button multiple times to regain power while traffic was waiting. This has occurred twice. What component or system failed or malfunctioned? The Auto Idle Stop (AIS) system and the Starter/Charging System. A service technician recently documented a "slow crank" during routine maintenance, suggesting the battery is unable to handle the restart load. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle stalled during a right-of-way transition (green light/4-way stop). This created an immediate risk. The loss of power steering and the stiffened brake pedal could have made the vehicle nearly impossible to maneuver manually on an incline during the failure. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed? A dealership technician confirmed a "slow crank" symptom during a multi-point inspection, though they could not reproduce an issue. The battery tested good. Were there any warning lamps or symptoms before failure? Yes. A "slow crank" was noted by a technician when attempting to start my vehicle to check my vehicle mileage. During the stall itself, a red exclamation point warning appeared on the dashboard.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding Hyundai Safety Recall #290 (NHTSA Recall No. 25V893) as it applies to my vehicle, VIN [XXX] . I received the official recall notice by mail on February 13, 2026. The recall identifies a defect involving the tow hitch wiring harness control module, which may allow water intrusion. According to the recall documentation, this defect can cause inoperative stop
... lamps and, in rare cases, an electrical short that could result in overheating or a vehicle fire. Since receiving the notice, I have contacted Hyundai Motor America corporate customer care three separate times seeking escalation and guidance on how to safely address this recall. During each call, Hyundai stated that no repair solution, parts availability, or timeline exists for remedying the defect. Despite the recall involving a documented fire risk and potential brake/stop lamp failure, Hyundai representatives advised me that I could continue driving the vehicle while waiting indefinitely for a remedy. No interim safety measures, inspections, alternative repairs, or mitigation steps were offered. I am concerned that Hyundai is failing to properly execute a federally mandated safety recall and is placing consumers in the position of operating vehicles with known, unresolved safety defects. Being advised to continue driving under these circumstances creates a risk to vehicle occupants and to other motorists. I am requesting that NHTSA review Hyundai’s handling of Recall #290, specifically regarding recall remedy delays, lack of escalation, and failure to mitigate an acknowledged safety risk, and take any enforcement or compliance action deemed appropriate. My airbag light is on after picking it up from a KIA dealership service and they are refusing to correct the issue that was caused by the dealership. I escalated the issue to KIA America and filled a formal case#25916418 on 2/26/2026. On 3/4/206 Tori at Kia Customer service informed me that it will not be covered because the dealership claims its a pre-existing issue. The dealership has failed to
... provide proof that that is true. Attached are: -The dealership’s diagnostic report -All text communications with the service advisor -Also have Video documentation of misaligned steering wheel I was unable to attach. Prior to dealership service, my vehicle was evaluated for approximately one week at a reputable independent repair facility for a cracked head gasket. At no time were there airbag warnings, steering issues, or safety system concerns. The vehicle was driven directly from the independent shop to the dealership where they preformed a warranty service. Upon pickup, I immediately observed: - Misaligned steering wheel - Illuminated airbag warning light - Coolant system air bubble (later corrected per dealership) The steering misalignment indicates the steering system was disturbed during repair. The airbag warning light appeared immediately afterward. The dealership’s report references “history” fault codes, but provides no proof the warning light was active prior to service. History codes can result from battery disconnection or electrical interruption during major repairs and do not establish a pre-existing defect. Given that: - The airbag system functioned properly before service - The steering wheel was returned misaligned - The airbag light appeared immediately after repair - There is no documentation proving a prior active fault I am concerned a critical safety system has been compromised. An active airbag warning indicates the system may not function in a collision. I am requesting that KIA fix this at no charge to me due to the reasons listed above.Read more

Approximately two weeks prior to the incident I experienced intermittent engine sputtering while driving. No repairs had yet been performed at that time. After the accident I discovered that my vehicle VIN is associated with an open fuel pump motor safety recall (EXP2) that had not been remedied prior to the incident. The suspected component involved is the fuel/propulsion system related to the fuel pump recall, although this has not yet been confirmed by inspection. The vehicle is currently in the possession of my insurance carrier and may be available for inspection upon request depending on the insurance process. The vehicle again went back to the authorized service center and has been out of service from February 10, 2026 to March 4, 2026 and counting. (the issue remains unresolved / parts are on order). Total time out of service is approximately 63 days for the same defect. Current mileage is approximately 1,070 miles. In addition, when attempting to charge using DC fast charging, charging performance was also abnormal. The DC fast charging rate was significantly reduced and it took approximately one hour to add only a small amount of range/energy. This defect creates a safety risk because the vehicle cannot be charged reliably, increasing the risk of being stranded without the ability to safely operate the vehicle as intended, including being unable to travel to a safe location if the battery becomes depleted. The authorized dealer/service center has reproduced/confirmed the problem and the affected components are available for inspection at the service facility upon request.Read more

Subject: Safety Concern – Backup Camera Failure Causing Complete Safety System Malfunction (2022 Kia Telluride) I am reporting a safety concern regarding a 2022 Kia Telluride related to the rear backup camera assembly. The backup camera failed due to water infiltration through the camera seal, which entered the camera housing and caused an electrical short. When this occurred, the failure did
... not only disable the backup camera but caused the entire vehicle safety system to malfunction, disabling multiple safety features until the issue was repaired. When we brought the vehicle to the dealership, they stated that this was not the first Kia Telluride they had seen with the same issue. The quoted repair cost from the dealership was approximately $1,200. I ultimately replaced the camera myself, which restored the safety systems to normal operation. I have retained the failed camera assembly, which clearly shows the location where the seal failed and water entered the unit. Because the failure of this component disables multiple vehicle safety systems, I believe this may represent a broader safety concern if it is occurring in other vehicles. I am submitting this report so the issue can be reviewed for potential defects affecting other vehicles. Vehicle information and additional details can be provided if needed. Thank you. I purchased this vehicle just over a year ago as a CPO model with only 8,000 miles on it. It now has just over 23,000 miles. In this short time of ownership, it has been back to the dealership 3 separate times for serious EV system issues. The first visit involved a software update intended to correct a 12-volt charging issue that could prevent the vehicle from charging and potentially cause ICCU
... failure. Shortly after that update, the 12-volt battery failed, despite being <18 months into service, completely bricking the vehicle and leaving me stranded waiting for a tow. The battery was replaced under warranty. Less than 2 months later, while >30 miles from home, the vehicle displayed a “Check Electrical System Failure” warning. I was able to limp-mode the car back to the dealership. I am now being told that the main EV battery has failed and must be replaced, possibly also the ICCU. The dealership cannot provide a firm timeline for repairs; parts availability could mean anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 months without the vehicle. This pattern of failures raises serious concerns about the reliability and safety of the EV6. Repeated electrical system issues create a very real risk of being stranded unexpectedly, potentially in unsafe situations such as on the side of a highway. To date, I have already lost four days of use due to service repairs, and I now face being without the vehicle for an extended and uncertain period. While a loaner vehicle is being provided, I will incur fuel expenses at a time of rising gas prices, undermining the financial rationale for purchasing an EV. Meanwhile, I continue making payments on a vehicle I cannot use, which is depreciating in value. I understand that new technology carries some risk. However, despite prior updates and even a model refresh, the ICCU issue appears unresolved, and Kia does not seem to have a clear root cause identified. For a vehicle marketed on innovation and dependability, this experience has indicated otherwise.Read more

On Friday my car wouldn’t start. I put in a request for AAA to come out and do a battery test. The technician comes out and hooks up my battery to the portable box and it still didn’t have the power to crank the car. The car turned on and was clicking it didn’t have enough power to actually start the car. My dad came and gave me a jump saturday morning, and said he thinks I needed a new batt
... ery. I drove to advanced auto by my house had them perform a battery test and the told me the battery was complete shot. I had to spend $300 on a new battery. After I left there and got onto rt 70, The thermostat in the corner of the dash, the needle started moving up more towards the hot once I accelerated to 50 mph. The way home was a night mare as the car started to lose power, check engine light came on then the check oil light. At this point my car is jerking across the intersection where I had to put on my hazards and barely made it home. It’s weird this all happened within a day and so sudden. I got notification about the recalls and was thinking this is all related. Monday morning 3/3 I get the car towed to Nissan on rt 37, where the told me I needed a engine but not due from the recall. the recall was for oil temp and the car has a coolant leak that leaked on the engine and I would have to pay out of pocket. I asked for the report they haven’t sent anything over yet. I bought that car from carvana last march on the 17th, so it hasn’t been a year and they told me i’m out of my warranty’s at 71 thousand miles. I feel so defeated as i’m paying 500 a month for this is car and haven’t had it for a year. I’m reaching out to file a complaint or to see if there’s anything I can do on my end. with the coolant leak, I’ve never had any issues with the car prior as it drove regularly and never saw any residue on the ground. Nissan representative said she’s working with her manager to see if they can do a good will.Read more

The Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) of my KIA EV6 failed. When putting the car into reverse to leave my workplace, I heard a fuse pop and a notification appeared on dashboard screen saying "Check electric vehicle system". This is a known recall issue that I was aware could happen, and in which case the car will soon become completely inoperable, so I didn't risking driving further. I ha
... d it towed to the nearest KIA dealership, where they confirmed the ICCU had failed and replaced it at no charge under the warranty coverage. There were no warnings or symptoms prior to the failure. I was fortunate that it did not fail while I was driving.Read more
