I am reporting a defect involving my **2025 Buick Encore GX AWD manufactured by General Motors. Within two days of purchasing the vehicle, the dashboard displayed the warning message “Service Charging System – Vehicle May Stall.” I contacted the dealership on the third day of ownership and was instructed to bring the vehicle in for service. Since that time the vehicle has required multiple r
... epair visits related to the charging system. Repairs included diagnosis of the electrical charging system, replacement of the alternator, and replacement of wiring harness components related to the charging system. I later learned the alternator had already been replaced prior to my purchase of the vehicle, and it required replacement again after purchase during the repair process. Because the charging system warning appeared almost immediately after purchase, I am concerned the defect may have existed prior to the vehicle being sold. Although the warning message is not currently appearing after the most recent repair, the defect occurred almost immediately after purchase and required repeated service visits. The vehicle still does not appear to operate normally. While driving at a steady highway speed, pressing the accelerator sometimes results in no immediate response. There can be a delay of approximately one to two seconds before the vehicle begins accelerating even when additional pressure is applied to the accelerator pedal. I have also noticed the engine sounds louder than expected while idling. Because the original warning indicated the vehicle may stall and the vehicle continues to demonstrate abnormal acceleration response, I believe this may represent a potential safety concern. I sought resolution with the manufacturer, however the manufacturer has not accepted responsibility for the condition. I am submitting this complaint so the issue is documented in case other owners experience similar charging system or acceleration problems.Read more

See attached document for complaint. I purchased a certified pre-owned Nissan Leaf SV Plus on [XXX] specifically for the larger battery capacity and the ability to use a DC fast charger, as this would allow me to drive my electric vehicle wherever I needed to go, including regular trips to Seattle from Mount Vernon. I was notified by Nissan in September 2024 that, due to the possibility that the
... battery could catch fire while using a DC fast charger, that my vehicle’s battery had been recalled and was instructed not to use a DC charger. They stated a remedy would be available in October 2024. When the date came and went, I contacted Nissan about the issue and the date was pushed to November 2024. Then December 2024, then spring 2025, then fall 2025. After numerous contact attempts to replace my battery, I initiated a buyback with Nissan on 10/16/25. I unexpectedly required medical treatment in October and contacted the Nissan rep on 10/28/25 to inform them of my medical issue and asked they contact my husband. My husband also attempted to contact the rep w/ no response. After coming back home, I found out that my claim was closed—Nissan said I failed to respond. Now, my doctors want me to receive further medical treatments in Seattle 3-5 times per week. At this time, my vehicle cannot transport me to the required appointments since I cannot use the fast charger. My medical treatment is delayed until Nissan resolves this! On August 15, 2025, I was backing my vehicle when the rear view camera screen went blank, providing no image of what was behind me. With no warning and no image, I collided with a rock and landscape, causing damage to the rear of my vehicle. At the time of this incident, my vehicle had an open, unrepaired safety defect under Safety Recall 25TA13, which specifically addresses the condition that th
... e rear view camera image may freeze or not display while reversing. I was not aware the recall existed at the time of my accident, and the recall remedy was not completed on my vehicle until February 12, 2026 — nearly six months after the incident. I filed a claim with Toyota Motor North America. They inspected the vehicle on February 11, 2026, found the camera functioning at that time (after the recall had since been remedied), and denied my claim. They cited owner's manual language advising drivers not to rely solely on the backup camera, but did not address the fact that the recall was unrepaired at the time of the accident. Additionally the parking collision warning and automatic braking should have engaged. The rock impacted the car right near one of the car cameras....so the collision warning and braking should have engaged. I am filing this complaint because I believe the unrepaired recall directly caused my inability to see behind my vehicle, and that Toyota's delay in notifying me and completing the remedy contributed to this incident. I am requesting that NHTSA review whether Toyota's notification and remedy timeline for Recall 25TA13 was adequate, and that this incident be added to the record of complaints associated with that recall.Read more

My 2019 BMW X3 (G01 chassis) displays a persistent "Emergency Call System Malfunction" warning on the instrument cluster that cannot be dismissed or reset by the owner. The warning appears every time the vehicle is started and remains on the dashboard throughout operation. This is a known defect caused by failure of the Telematics Communication Box (TCB) module, which is commonly triggered by wat
... er intrusion through a defective seal on the roof-mounted shark fin antenna housing. BMW has acknowledged this issue through Technical Service Bulletin SIB B65 12 22 (Roof-Mounted Antenna Housing Seal Not Adhering), yet has not issued a recall or offered a no-cost repair to affected owners. This defect presents the following safety concerns: 1. The persistent, non-dismissible warning light desensitizes the driver to critical dashboard warnings, undermining the purpose of the vehicle's warning system. When drivers are conditioned to ignore a permanent warning, they are more likely to overlook new, actionable safety alerts. 2. The emergency call (eCall) system itself is rendered non-functional, meaning the vehicle will not automatically contact emergency services in the event of a serious collision where the driver is incapacitated. 3. The warning creates a visual distraction on the instrument cluster during driving. BMW's only offered remedy is full replacement of the TCB module at a cost of $1,500–$2,500 to the owner, despite this being a manufacturing defect (faulty antenna seal adhesive) and not a wear item. The defective component is located under the headliner and is not accessible for owner maintenance. This issue is widespread across 2017–2023 BMW models equipped with the shark fin antenna, including the X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, 3 Series, and 5 Series. A class action lawsuit has been filed against BMW of North America regarding this defect. Numerous complaints have been submitted to NHTSA and documented extensively on BMW owner forums. A third required component is currently on backorder with no definitive ETA or repair completion date, as the date keeps getting pushed. We are not being updated and are not receiving information from the dealership and Corporate about the details about the problem and nature of the delay. Toyota has obligations under federal recall law administered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to remedy safety defects within a reasonable time and at no charge to the consumer. An indefinite inability to complete a safety recall repair due to parts unavailability raises serious concerns under those obligations. Furthermore, a previous recall #25TA08 (NHTSA 25V595) which was supposedly completed on October 14, 2025 by the same dealership is showing as INCOMPLETE in the vehicle record with NHTSA.Read more

The camera visibility systems on this vehicle become extremely dark and largely unusable at night. This affects multiple cameras, including the rear backup camera, which is the most problematic. In low-light conditions, the display does not provide a usable image of the area around or behind the vehicle. When reversing at night, the rear camera image becomes so dark that pedestrians, obstacles, o
... r other vehicles behind the car cannot be seen. This creates a significant safety hazard because the driver cannot rely on the camera system to safely maneuver or reverse the vehicle. All rear lights and exterior lighting on the vehicle are functioning properly, which suggests the issue is related to the camera system itself, image processing, or the vehicle’s configuration for low-light conditions rather than a lighting failure. Because the rearview camera system is intended to provide rear visibility and prevent back-over incidents, the system failing to provide a usable image at night defeats its intended safety purpose and creates a risk of a back-over crash or collision. The issue has been persistent since the vehicle was delivered and occurs consistently during nighttime operation and other low-light conditions. The rear visibility system appears unable to perform its intended safety function under normal nighttime driving conditions, raising concerns about whether the system is functioning as required under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 111 (Rear Visibility).Read more

I pulled over, the dust cover under the car had ripped partially off and took a portion of my grill trim with it. The car still ran perfectly fine, so I continued the mile and a half to my house. I did not see a
... nything that I may have hit on the highway and did not see anything eject behind my car when this incident happened. I noticed the oil light begin to flicker as I was ½ mile from home for maybe a second, then it was off and then flickered again, it did not stay lit. I filed a claim with my insurance-Progressive-they wanted to total my car without inspecting it. I negotiated and they had me take it to The Ford dealer who inspected it visually to see if the cause was internal combustion as my insurance claimed, or external damage. See photos. They recommended a full engine replacement after only a visual inspection and charged me $276.70. I had the oil-pan replaced as shown on my bank statement $1053.77, with Interstate Automotive who verified no engine damage was found. Next the LCD instrument panel showed distorted, or not at all, or perfectly fine at times, which made it hard to read, and no instrument warnings are given for any issue, just the check engine light. As of today, 3/10/26, car will no longer reverse or progress into 2nd gear, is sluggish and feels as though it has no power at all. This happened randomly on 3/9/26 after the car would not start and it was believed to be a battery issue. The battery was replaced 3/9/26 $148.08. When the diagnostic codes for the check engine light were tested, they showed a faulty CO2 module issue. New parts will be installed on 3/11/26. All of the above described issues seem as though they could be related to a major safety issue with this vehicle, but Ford insists any courtesy fixes are not available to my VIN.Read more

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The primary system affected appears to be the CVT transmission. Additionally, the engine computer (ECU) and electrical system (including battery, driver-side window, and turn signals) have shown repeated failures. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the
... safety of others put at risk? During sudden loss of acceleration, the vehicle would not respond to the gas pedal for 10–20 seconds. This created dangerous situations when merging onto highways, crossing intersections, or making turns, as the car could not accelerate to avoid other vehicles or hazards. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. Independent mechanics confirmed repeated ECU and MAF sensor failures. In February 2025, after the vehicle stalled at an intersection, multiple repairs were attempted (alternator, key reset, starter replacement), but the drivability issues persisted, confirming the problem. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has been inspected by independent mechanics multiple times. Insurance roadside service documented over ten incidents where the vehicle would not start or stalled, including two towing events. The manufacturer has not inspected this specific vehicle. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes. The check engine light for the mass air flow sensor would illuminate before and during drivability issues. These warnings first appeared in 2017, the first year of ownership. Other symptoms include engine chugging, electrical irregularities (window failure, rapid turn signal flashing), and sudden loss of acceleration.Read more

Vehicle has an active safety recall where the rear hatch may open while driving. Manufacturer states there is no remedy until August 2026, making the vehicle unsafe to operate. I am still making loan and insurance payments on a vehicle that cannot safely be used due to the recall.”

Was given a 'critical brake fault' warning on the dashboard. Car defaulted into neutral and I was not able to put it park, drive, reverse or even turn off the car (had to keep my foot on the brake until someone could help me push it onto a flat surface). Could not open the car doors from the outside, no resets would work, had to be towed to dealership. Car was left "running" at the dealership for

I am writing to report a mechanical failure with my Kia vehicle that occurred on January 19, 2026. While stopped at a red light, my vehicle suddenly shut off and would not restart. Although the electrical lights came on, the engine would not turn over. Because my car was stuck in the middle of the intersection blocking traffic, I had to call 911 for assistance. When the police arrived, the officer
... attempted to jump-start the vehicle, but it still would not start. A tow truck was then called to remove the vehicle from the roadway. I paid $290 out of pocket to have the vehicle towed to a nearby repair shop. After diagnosing the issue, the shop determined that the starter had completely failed. I purchased the vehicle on May 15, 2023. At the time of the failure, the vehicle had just exceeded the 60,000-mile warranty, leaving me responsible for the repair. I paid approximately $500 out of pocket to replace the starter. Given the short time between purchasing the vehicle and the failure of the starter, I believe this may indicate a defective component.Read more

My noise cancelation malfunctioned from the first month of of purchasing it 11/2023. It took two years numerous dealership visits, update after update. I filed a lemon law claim. I had a GM claim. No one could fix it. They told me I could do 3 things. Update again, cut the wires (which of course voids the entire warranty) or have them disconnected (if they could even be disconnected). I finally f
... ound a dealership in Cayuga, Indiana that fixed the problem by actually disconnecting the noise cancelation. It got so loud you couldn't even hear anyone talking in the car. It gave anyone a headache if they ride more than 30 minutes at a time. The noise cancelation wouldn't shut off. It just sounded likeRead more
