CHARGING SYSTEM DEFECT: The manufacturer-supplied portable charger (rated 9.6kW at 240V/40A) delivers only 7.4kW — a 23% shortfall. The authorized dealer confirmed this measurement in March 2026 but refused to repair, stating "no issues." The charging rate also degrades over time without manual reset. The vehicle also intermittently fails to charge at DC fast charging stations — it begins cha
... rging, then stops within minutes displaying "Malfunction of charging" error. Other EVs charge normally at the same stations. SAFETY RISK: Charging failures create a stranding hazard. The vehicle can fail to charge at public stations without warning, leaving the driver unable to complete trips. REPAIR HISTORY: 5+ visits to two authorized dealerships over 10 months (May 2025–March 2026), 16+ days out of service. No fix — returned each time as "no fault found" despite video evidence of failures shown to dealer at every visit. Manufacturer corporate support also failed to resolve. Dealer found DTCs for charger communication faults. A demand letter was sent to manufacturer — no response received. Vehicle and charger available for inspection.Read more

On 3/3/2026 during the night-time hours, I was traveling on the freeway in my 2023 GMC Yukon at over 65 MPH when I received a notice from the instrument cluster stating that the battery was low and oil pressure was low. Before I could pull over to a safe location, the Yukon turned off while in motion. My wife and two children were in the vehicle. The Yukon stalled in the number one lane of the off
... -ramp. I had to remove my children and wife from the vehicle while in the roadway on busy throughfares and in darkness. I attempted to jumpstart the Yukon, but efforts were unsuccessful. The Yukon was towed to the dealership where I purchased it purchased from. The Yukon was returned to my custody on 3/10/2026 stating it was an issue with the battery. While driving the Yukon home it began to bog down and stalled out in-front of my residence as it was being driven by my wife. After arriving home (night-time), I went to check the Yukon, and it started with no issues. I drove the Yukon to see if the errors would occur again. While driving the Yukon on the freeway, the Yukon RMPs indicated close to redline and I received a notification from the instrument cluster stating to turn the vehicle off (traveling at about 70-75 MPH). Once again, I was unable to pull off to a safe location before the Yukon turned off on its own while still in motion; I attempted to jumpstart the Yukon but attempts were unsuccessful. The Yukon was towed again to dealership. On 3/11/2026 I was advised that the engine had seized and on 3/13/2026 I was advised by GMC the engine needed to be replaced (this was covered under powertrain warranty). The approximate milage of the vehicle is at about 42,200.Read more

I am reporting a vehicle fire involving my 2008 BMW X3, which had an active safety recall for the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve heater (Recall Campaign No. 22V-119). This recall identifies a risk of short circuiting, overheating, and potential fire. On February 27, 2026, I contacted BMW after discovering multiple active recalls on my vehicle. I specifically asked whether the vehicle
... was safe to drive. After consulting internally, I was advised that I did not need a tow and that the vehicle was safe to drive. Based on this guidance, I scheduled a repair appointment for March 24, 2026. On March 14, 2026, before starting the vehicle, I noticed a very faint smell of burning plastic, which I reasonably believed was coming from a nearby source and not from my vehicle. After starting the vehicle and driving approximately 2–3 blocks, the smell rapidly intensified and began filling the interior. Multiple dashboard warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle lost acceleration almost immediately. I safely pulled the vehicle off the road, turned it off, and opened the hood, at which point I observed smoke and active fire originating from the rear/center area of the engine compartment. I immediately called 911, and the Central Mat-Su Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The vehicle sustained extensive fire damage and has been deemed a total loss. I am concerned that despite a known recall involving fire risk, I was advised that the vehicle was safe to drive, which may have contributed to this incident. There were no indicators of any problems prior to driving it and the dashboard only lit up seconds before the vehicle stopped moving and caught fire. It has not been inspected by anyone but I have it covered on my property to preserve the evidence. I am waiting to receive the fire department report and can provide that once it’s available.Read more

Shortly after a routine oil change performed at a Kia dealership, I discovered a significant oil leak underneath the vehicle the following day. Within a short period of time, the vehicle began experiencing engine-related issues including a cylinder misfire, noticeable shaking while driving, and loss of power, particularly when accelerating or driving on inclines. The vehicle also displayed a chec
... k engine light and a warning related to 12-volt battery drain. In addition, I noticed a strong burning odor coming from the engine area, which raised concerns about a possible fluid leak or internal engine issue. These conditions created a safety concern because the vehicle would hesitate and lose power during normal driving, which could increase the risk of an accident, especially in traffic or when merging or climbing inclines. The vehicle was returned to a Kia dealership for inspection. I was informed that a cylinder issue was suspected; however, only a temporary repair involving a coil swap was performed. No comprehensive diagnostic testing was completed to confirm the root cause of the problem. After the repair, the vehicle continued to exhibit abnormal behavior, including shaking and lack of power. Due to ongoing safety concerns and lack of confidence in the vehicle’s reliability, I stopped driving the vehicle. This issue occurred at relatively low mileage, raising concerns about a potential engine defect or unresolved mechanical failure.Read more

Today I was driving my truck at 55mph on a local highway and all of the sudden I felt/heard/experienced a massive clunk out of nowhere - almost like the truck tried to downshift into 1st or something similarly jarring. It only lasted a second, and then I got a dash light on that said Service AdvanceTrac. Based on the service codes I'm seeing (two of them that are both UO100 codes which indicate lo
... ss of communication), I did some research and found out about the OSS sensor issue and think that's what is going on with my truck too. Unfortunately I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get a Ford dealership to do anything about it since there isn't an official recall, and I'm afraid to keep driving it as this is likely going to keep happening - but fixing it myself is going to be expensive I think. It is available for inspection upon request. I felt that my safety was and continues to be at risk - downshifting into 1st gear, or whatever that was, while driving high speeds is dangerous and could potentially significantly damage my vehicle and myself. I have not taken it anywhere yet to be reproduced or confirmed - just plugged my scanner in and did a bit of research. No one has inspected it.Read more

The car is subject to a NHTSA recall 26V073. Mercedes has scheduled warranty repair for December 31, 2026, or more than 9 months from now. Mercedes has also said in writing that "the battery replacement remedy is not yet available" and that we should compla

(We've programmed it not to charge over 80%.) Even still, we are at risk that the car will burst into flames, potentially while we are in it, possibly with our grandchildren in the back seat. The other solution Mercedes has is that we should lease a different model at three times the cost of our present lease, thereby shifting the cost of this warranty issue onto us.Read more

The vehicle is a Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric vehicle. There have been known issues with the integrated charging control unit (ICCU) failing suddenly rendering the car inoperative; I just took it to the dealer and they confirmed a fault with the ICCU. I am up to date with multiple prior ICCU recalls and updates. Leading up to this, a few months ago my 12V battery died unexpectedly at ~22000 miles and
... I had it replaced. The ICCU charges the 12v battery so I wondered if there was an ICCU issue but the car otherwise was operating fine. Overnight while charging with a level 1 charger at home recently, the car stopped charging overnight unexpectedly. A couple days later I plugged in to charge at home again and got a message "charging unsuccessful", and on the dash I received a message that said "check electrical vehicle system" which went away when I unplugged the car. I tried a different level 1 charger from my wife's car and received the same "charging unsuccessful" message. Interestingly that charger no longer seems to work on her car, so it's possible that my car damaged the charging unit. I then went to try a level 2 charger maintained by the city of Seattle which was operative and had power when I plugged in. On plugging in, I received the same "charging unsuccessful" message and then the light on the level 2 charger went off and the level 2 charing unit lost power. Again, it appears that the fault on my car may have damaged an external charging unit. Thankfully I was still able to drive the car to the dealer where the ICCU failure was confirmed and am in the process of replacing it (they don't have the parts in house and told me the current wait is less than a week though previously had been sometimes months). A service rep told me many customers had the failure happen suddenly with a loud "pop" while the car was in motion causing them to limp to the side of the road or leaving them stranded.Read more

Multiple safety systems on my 2019 Honda Odyssey Elite have simultaneously failed, including LKAS, ACC, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Auto High-Beam Headlights, and other driver-assist features. The dashboard displays warnings for nearly every safety-related system, and the vehicle disables these features without warning. **Detailed Description of the Problem:** Whenever I start my vehicle,
... multiple error messages are displayed related to the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Road Departure Mitigation, Auto Headlights, and other safety features. These warnings appear together and persist even after restarting the vehicle. Apparently, this issue is widespread among 2018–2020 Honda Odyssey owners, with many reporting the same cluster of system failures. The problem appears to be related to a malfunction in the vehicle’s electrical system, sensors/ cameras, or control modules. In my case, the failures occur without any external damage, weather event, or driver action that would explain the sudden loss of safety functionality. When these systems fail, the vehicle disables critical safety features such as automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, and automatic headlights. This creates a significant safety risk, especially at highway speeds or in low‑visibility conditions. **Frequency:** The issue occurs whenever the vehicle is started, affecting my driving everyday.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding ongoing and persistent mechanical issues with my vehicle since the time of purchase. The vehicle has repeatedly shut off unexpectedly, creating a serious safety concern. Initially, I suspected the issue might be related to the battery, and I have replaced the battery twice within the past 4 years. However, the problem has continued. In January, the vehicle
... began shaking and shutting down again. I took it to a mechanic, who diagnosed the issue as faulty spark plugs and an ignition coil. The diagnostic codes provided were P0303 and P0456, and the recommended repairs were completed. Approximately one month later, the vehicle began shutting off again. I then took it to the dealership, where I was advised that the valve cover gasket needed to be replaced, along with the belts, and that a fuel system cleaning was required. I subsequently had these repairs completed by my mechanic. Less than a week after completing those repairs, the vehicle once again began shutting down. A diagnostic scan then produced code P123300. In addition to these repeated shutdowns, the vehicle consumes an excessive amount of oil, has poor acceleration, and continues to stall unexpectedly both while driving on the road and while idling, such as in a drive thru. These recurring issues have made the vehicle unreliable and unsafe. I am concerned about the risk of the vehicle shutting off while in motion, which could lead to a dangerous situation. There are two issues 1) Unsure of the exact date, but about a year or two ago we were driving our car and the car's automatic break system went into effect on a typically busy, 3 lane road despite there not being any cars in front of our vehicle. We took it into the dealership, who confirmed the issue and told us that sometimes the automatic brake mis-identifies the metal plates in the roads to

Additionally we had our [XXX] in the car. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms of the problem prior to failure. 2) Recently we have been having a warning sign on our car that says the 12v battery is low, even though it should not be. Historically this would tell us to drive our car around so the battery wouldn't die, but this would sometimes turn on even after a 30+ minute drive. It was turning on every single time we turned the car off, so we brought it into the shop. While in the shop, the dealer provided us with a brand new GLC 300. I took this GLC 300 to my son's daycare to drop him off and when I returned to the car I received an error message "48V battery service required" and could not turn on the vehicle. The vehicle was serviced at Bartow Ford in Bartow, Florida, where approximately $1,100 was paid for the installation of a Body Control Module (BCM). Less than two weeks after this repair, the vehicle was returned to the same dealership due to issues involving the windshield wipers. According to the dealership’s own written statement, their technician began diagnosing the issue by replacing a blo

When the technician touched the harness, it immediately caught fire. The shop foreman then had to disconnect the battery to prevent further damage. This fire occurred while the vehicle was in the possession and control of the dealership and during active diagnosis by their technician. Despite this, the dealership is now attempting to charge approximately $3,700 to repair the wiring harness and related components. We find this unacceptable. It is unreasonable to expect the customer to pay for repairs to damage that occurred during dealership service and inspection. This situation raises serious concerns, particularly because the dealership had recently performed electrical work on the vehicle involving the BCM only two weeks earlier.Read more

The vehicle was recalled. I took the vehicle to the dealer where it was purchased. It was serviced. The engine issue was addressed, so we thought. The repair/replacement parts did not remedy the issue, despite it being in the shop for over 6 months. The problem persists. It is overheating in a 5 minute drive. The local service department is saying there is no other remedy. They keep asking
... we bring it in for another diagnosis, but the problem is the same as the 47,000 other vehicles that have been recalled by this same issue. We purchased the car and have not been able to use it.Read more

Description of Safety Defect: While operating the vehicle at approximately 25-30MPH and make a right turn, the vehicle experienced a sudden and total loss of power/engine stall, accompanied by a "Check Engine" light and a "Reduced Engine Power" notification. This resulted in a near-collision on a public roadway. The vehicle's steering and braking response were significantly compromised during thi
... s event, creating an immediate life-safety hazard for the driver and passengers. Dealer/Manufacturer Response: The vehicle was recently in the possession of McGovern Buick GMC Westborough for service. Despite the vehicle exhibiting an active Check Engine Light (CEL), the dealership staff pressured the consumer to take delivery of the vehicle and drive it on public roads. The service advisor admitted in writing that the CEL was active but insisted the vehicle was "feel free to drive." Furthermore, the dealership attempted to falsify internal corporate safety notes to claim the consumer "insisted" on taking the vehicle, masking a known mechanical defect. This represents a willful suppression of a safety defect by a franchised dealer, which led directly to a hazardous operating condition. Injuries/Crashes: No crash occurred, but a near-miss was documented. Passenger experienced severe emotional distress due to the sudden loss of vehicle control in traffic.Read more

While charging the vehicle, we heard a loud pop. After starting the vehicle there was a warning to check the electric vehicle system. The car max speed was limited to about 20mph while driving home (it was night and the dealership was closed). The following morning while driving the car to the dealership, a new warning came on to stop the vehicle. A few minutes later, a new light came on showing
... a turtle icon and the car would only go about 3-4 mph. I barely made it through the busy intersection and was able to pull over before the car completely died. At that point, nothing worked: no electronic locks, no hazard lights, or other safety measures. The car was towed to the dealership (1/2 mile away) where it was diagnosed with an ICCU and fuse failure. Due to a part being backordered, the car sat at the dealership for 86 days before being fixed and returned.Read more

While driving an audible pop from the rear of the vehicle was heard. Upon hearing the pop the vehicle warning lights came on and a sudden loss of power reducing my maximum speed to 20 mile per hour. My 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid experienced a complete electrical system failure at approximately 15,933 miles, resulting in a no-start condition. The failure involved the vehicle’s electrical distribution system. An authorized Ford dealership (Autos Vega Ford) diagnosed that voltage was not reaching the Body Control Module (BCM) due to a fault in the battery cable and wiring system. The repair re
... quired replacement of the 12V battery, high-voltage battery cables, and wiring components. The failure was confirmed by the dealership (Autos Vega Ford) and required multiple jump starts, but the vehicle would not consistently restart after being turned off. There were no prior warning indicators before the failure. The issue occurred suddenly without warning. This failure created a safety risk because the vehicle could not be started or operated. If this failure occurred in an unsafe or remote location, it could leave occupants stranded and unable to move the vehicle. Service records are available through the authorized dealership (Autos Vega Ford). This appears to be a premature electrical system failure at low mileage involving critical components such as battery cables and wiring. Similar issues involving electrical systems, battery defects, and wiring faults have been reported in Ford Maverick Hybrid vehicles. The vehicle became inoperable without warning and required towing/assistance to reach a repair facility. A sudden no-start condition in a hybrid vehicle can create hazardous situations if it occurs in traffic, at intersections, or in remote areas where assistance is not immediately available.Read more

The liftgate (trunk) opens sporadically. The system keeps trying to open the truck and it's causing a parasitic drain on my battery. I was stranded 2 hours from my home due to this. My trunk would sporadically beep three times, that is the only warning I received. There are safety recalls for other year of Mazda cx-9 but not my specific even though I am having the same issue.
