There are currently hundreds (if not thousands) of cars, operating on roads of USA, that at any particular time stop in the middle of the road. The power is cut off and Engine Control Error is displayed on the monitor. This issue has been described many times on Reddit, under Taycan-Engine Control Error threads. The affects 2020-21 Porsche Taycans. As an owner of '21 Taycan, I have run into this i
... ssue 8 times in the past 4 months. I have been lucky so far not to cause any incidents. I've brought in my car 3 times to Porsche dealership. The first time, a fix was made, but it did not do anything. The second time I brought it in, I was told that there is a transmission issue, but since the dealership can't replicate this issue, they can't fix it. After the second attempt, I contacted Porsche headquarters, looking for resolution. The customer service requested for me to bring the car back to dealership for additional analysis. After I brought the car to dealership, I waited for over a month and then received an email from Corporate Customer Service- there is nothing wrong with my car. So, I'm still driving a car, that can and will stop at any moment. I warned Porsche corporate that if the next time my car stops for no apparent reason and this leads to an injury or worse, someone at Porsche will be charged with manslaughter. Even though Porsche Corporate knows that these cars are a problem, the company refuses to address this issue and blatantly lies to clients, hoping that no one wants to take on a big corporation. How long will it be, until there is a serious injury or worse happens due to these sudden stops? I have all the communication between myself, orsche corporate and Porsche North Seattle showing the exact dates, when these issues happened, the attempt to fix them, the text message from dealership telling me that there is a transmission issue and lastly the email from Corporate, stating that there are no issues with this car. Please take a look. Thank you.Read more

The Audi e-tron GT contains a design defect where the 12v battery cannot be charged in the event it becomes depleted. The battery is stored in the front trunk, but this can only be opened when the car has electrical power - there is no manual release. This leaves the vehicle immobilized to the point it must be towed to a dealer using special equipment because the four wheel drive train is locked i
... n position when de-powered. This is a safety issue because it will leave a driver unexpectedly stranded in a remote location or otherwise unable to use their vehicle in an emergency situation. There is no way to mitigate this risk (e.g. via routine replacement of 12v battery) because any electrical fault separate from the battery itself is sufficient. In my case, a malfunctioning light switch caused a parasitic drain on the 12v leaving the car totally immobilized. I was unable to start the car and it took two days for Audi to send a tow truck with the correct equipment to tow the vehicle. It then took them several weeks to diagnose and resolve the problem. Meanwhile, there are thousands of similar components on the car that could potentially cause the same issue to reoccur. The Porsche Taycan, which shares the same platform as the e-tron GT, allows the front trunk to be opened by connecting jumper cables to a fuse box in the driver's side foot well after accessing the passenger cabin with a manual key. The 12v battery in the front trunk can then be charged so the car can be driven in an emergency or to a service center. A recall should be issued requiring Audi to provide the driver some way of accessing the 12v system in an emergency. Failed Component: 12v battery / light switch. Unsure if dealer kept failed part. Safety Risk: Driver left stranded - no way to mitigate via proper maintenance. Confirmation of Issue: Dealer confirmed issue. Inspection of parts: Unsure beyond servicing dealer. Warning: No symptoms or warning of problem. Car simply died overnight.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious safety issue with my vehicle, a Hyundai Ioniq 5, which I purchased new and which currently has only 4,795 miles. The vehicle remains fully covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. Yesterday, March 19th 2026, while driving on a heavily congested street, the vehicle suddenly displayed a warning message stating: “Stop Vehicle and Check Power S
... upply.” Immediately after, the car began to significantly lose power and slow down in active traffic. This created a dangerous situation, as I was forced to pull over abruptly in a crowded roadway, putting my safety and the safety of others at risk. Due to the severity of the issue, I contacted Hyundai roadside assistance, and the vehicle was towed to Safford Hyundai for inspection and repair. I was informed by the dealership that repairs could take up to four months, and I was not provided with a loaner vehicle or alternative transportation. As a result: I am currently without a vehicle for daily transportation, including commuting to work I have experienced significant stress and anxiety due to the sudden and dangerous nature of the incident I am left without a reasonable remedy despite the vehicle being new and under full warranty This situation raises serious concerns regarding vehicle safety, reliability, and Hyundai’s failure to provide adequate support or transportation during an extended repair period. Given that this is a new vehicle with a critical failure that compromises safety, I am requesting: Immediate assistance with a loaner or rental vehicle at no cost A clear timeline and communication regarding repairs Consideration of further remedies if the vehicle cannot be repaired within a reasonable timeframe, in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws I believe this issue represents a significant defect that substantially impairs the use, value, and safety of the vehicle.Read more

I am on my second 2026 Honda Passport. The first one was taken to dealership 6 times (once at red rock Honda in Colorado and 5 times at Cleo bay in Texas) for a failed part in the steering wheel. The airbag and other parts were replaced and would fail again afterward. I had to replace it with another of the same vehicle because of so many problems and no suitable repair. On March 13, 2026, I was operating my 2015 Hyundai Tucson when the steering locked up, causing me to crash into a tree head-on. In the course of this head-on crash, my airbags failed to deploy. As a direct result of my airbags not deploying in a serious car crash, my head hit the steering wheel, causing a confirmed concussion diagnosis of Post Traumatic Headache and Post Concussion Syndrome in a h
... ospital emergency room. There were no lights or symbols on the dashboard prior to the accident. My car had a prior repair for a front end collision in a body shop and a replacement of the engine in a Hyundai dealership prior to the accident. My car is currently in a tow yard. There has been no inspection of my car by the manufacturer. I have since discovered that there are a number of complaints filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ("NHTSA") from other Hyundai Tucson owners for the model years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2012, 2013, 2019, and 2023 complaining of the same defect in their Hyundai Tucsons – the failure of the airbags to deploy in serious car accidents. I believe this represents a systemic safety defect in the Hyundai Tucson airbag system that has not been addressed for the 2015 model year. This failure put my safety at serious risk and resulted in significant injuries that could have been prevented had the airbag system functioned as designed.Read more

I am submitting this complaint to report a serious safety issue involving my 2021 Chevrolet Suburban equipped with the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine. The vehicle has experienced a recurring problem related to the engine wiring harness. While driving, the vehicle will unexpectedly stall without warning. At the same time, there is an immediate loss of power steering assist, significantly reducing the
... ability to safely control the vehicle. This creates a dangerous situation, especially at highway speeds or in traffic. The failure appears to be linked to a defect or malfunction in the engine wiring harness, which may be causing intermittent electrical interruptions to critical engine systems. There were no prior warning signs sufficient to prevent the incident. This issue poses a substantial safety risk not only to the driver and passengers but also to other motorists. Sudden engine shutdown combined with loss of steering assist increases the likelihood of a crash. I believe this may be a systemic defect affecting other vehicles of the same model and configuration. When I try to start the car, there is one single click, the engine wont even attempt to turn over. Oil, battery and check engine lights are all on. The Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU), part number 36400-1XAD5, failed on my 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL RWD at 2138 miles. The ICCU is responsible for charging the 12V auxiliary battery from the high voltage traction battery. DTC P1A9096 was recorded on 03/02/2026. When the ICCU fails, the 12V battery drains because it has no charging source. The vehicle becomes undrivable as all vehicle syst
... ems depend on the 12V battery. The vehicle had to be towed on a flatbed truck to Hyundai dealer for diagnosis and repair. The failure was confirmed by the dealer using their diagnostic tools. This is the same ICCU failure mode covered by Hyundai Recalls 257 and 272 for 2022-2024 Ioniq 5 vehicles, however the 2025 Ioniq 5 is not currently included in those recalls despite using the same ICCU architecture. The failure at only 2138 miles on a 2025 model indicates the underlying defect was not resolved with the model year refresh. If this failure had occurred while driving at highway speed rather than while the vehicle was stationary, the progressive loss of motive power could have created a serious safety hazard. NHTSA should consider expanding the existing ICCU recall to include 2025 Ioniq 5 vehicles.Read more

Vehicle: 2022 Toyota Highlander Limited Mileage at failure: ~60,000 miles The driver seat began moving rearward without any driver input while the vehicle was being driven. This condition creates a significant safety risk because the driver’s seating position can change unexpectedly while driving. In attempting to mitigate the problem, I tried to disable the power seat by removing the fuse. However, the power seat fuses on this vehicle are not clearly labeled and are mounted on the side of the interior junction block under the dash, making them inaccessible to the driver without removing interior panels. As a result, the malfunctioning system could not be quickly disabled. The vehicle required replacement of the driver seat control/track assembly at a cost of approximately $1,600. I am making car payments on this vehicle that I cannot drive I've asked Ford in the past could I just have it serviced for the engine coolant system problem and for the purge valve because I can't pass emission test they refuse to help me saying that my VIN is not coming up as a recall but it's the exact same car that they've recalled in the past 2014 Ford escape engine 1.60 I need help!!! This has been going on for weeks with a high engine overheating sensor shutting off the engine stalling me in traffic. This is a safety issue this car belongs to Ford and I think that they should help me get it repaired at a dealership pleaseRead more

My vehicle contains a defective high-voltage lithium-ion battery that is subject to internal short circuits caused by deviations in the battery supplier's production process. According to NHTSA and Mercedes-Benz's own recall documentation, an internal short circuit in a battery cell can trigger a thermal event — that is, a vehicle fire — whether the vehicle is parked or being driven. Criticall
... y, NHTSA has specifically warned that there may be no external warning or dashboard indicator when the thermal event occurs while the vehicle is parked and shut off. This defect is not theoretical. Mercedes-Benz first became aware of vehicle fires caused by this same battery defect through reports of confirmed fire incidents in other markets. NHTSA has formally acknowledged that the defective battery "may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving," increasing the risk of serious bodily injury or death. I am the parent of toddlers who reside in my household. My vehicle is regularly parked in proximity to my home and family. The risk of a sudden, unannounced vehicle fire — whether in my driveway, garage, or on the road — poses a direct, immediate, and unacceptable threat to the safety and lives of my young children. I cannot continue to operate or park this vehicle without placing my family in danger. Mercedes Benz is coercing me into getting a new Lease contract by using the defective battery as a leverage when in fact they need to take the car back and they are notRead more

I am reporting a defect involving the Bluetooth and infotainment system in my 2026 Subaru Solterra. While driving, the vehicle’s Bluetooth connection consistently disconnects after approximately 5–10 minutes. The phone call itself does not drop; however, the connection to the vehicle’s hands-free system fails. In addition, infotainment functions such as audio streaming and app connectivity
... also disconnect or become unstable. This issue occurs repeatedly during normal operation and has been reproduced multiple times. This creates a safety concern because it interrupts hands-free communication and may require the driver to handle the phone or attempt to reconnect while driving, increasing the risk of distraction. The issue was inspected and confirmed by a dealership technician. The technician paired both my phone and his own device, and the same Bluetooth and infotainment disconnection occurred. This confirms the defect is not related to a specific phone or user error. The vehicle has been taken in for service, but no repair or resolution has been provided. I have been informed the issue may be software-related, with no available fix or timeline. This defect affects core vehicle functionality and safe operation of hands-free systems.Read more

The vehicle was completely dead on the morning of 2/24/2026. Following the proper jumping procedure, the vehicle was jumped to restore power. A message on the dash stated to "check charging system". This message is generic in nature and usually indicates a 12V battery problem. The vehicle was left on and then plugged in to a Level 2 EV charger. The vehicle then caught fire and destroyed our detach
... ed garage. Stellantis did send an independent investigator who indicated that the fire likely started on the front right of the vehicle. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? UKNOWN How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Vehicle caught fire with no warning. The vehicle has 2 permanent codes. One is a communication blackout, the other code means the hardware is melting. GM is doing a formal inspection in April. The Ucode meant that the engine stopped talking to the transmission or visa versa. The vehicle “ran my daughter and I” off the highway into the dirt, on 2 different occasions. They are described as “catastrophic engine failures”. The la
... st one occurred on MLK Jr Day 2026, before the vehicle was permanently grounded. It could have been fatal. GM is doing a formal investigation to see what liability the have for it because the vehicle is now considered a “lemon”. There were no external (dashboard) warnings before the events, but, there may have been internal ones that require a professional grade scanner to detect. The permanent Ucode, which causes a communication blackout, never appeared in the vehicles memory, on a scanner, until AFTER the local GM franchise conducted “repairs” (unsuccessfully) to fix the vehicle. (It wouldnt start, which is often a symptom of a Permanent UCode. The GM investigation will determine if the dealership knew the safety liability, (the permanent Ucode) and they tried bypassing or ignoring it, or, if they CAUSED the safety defect. Also, the vehicle is now showing a Permanent PCode, which means it is now a potential fire hazard.Read more

The backup camera flips the image upside down and has static throughout the image. Occasionally it blinks out completely. This began happening on an occasional basis over the past few years, but in the past year it has been consistently upside down all the time.

I am reporting a severe combined safety failure involving fuel delivery and electronic systems. Between 1:22 PM and 3:37 PM, documented evidence shows the vehicle's fuel range dropped by 37 miles while the odometer recorded only 6 actual miles driven—a 600% abnormal fuel consumption rate accompanied by excessive engine noise. The odometer also exhibited erratic behavior, reversing and then spiki
... ng while stationary. Additionally, the unit was provided with critically low tire pressure (26 PSI), which continued to drop while parked, indicating an active leak neglected by maintenance. Furthermore, there is a discrepancy in records: the VIN indicates a black vehicle, but the actual unit provided is white. These defects posed an immediate fire and road safety risk, causing significant psychological and physical distress (vertigo).Read more
