On Friday March 20, 2026, we traded in a Chevy Equinox to get a newer model which is the VIN number we listed in this complaint. Driving home from the dealership the vehicle went from drive to park on its own (driving at 65 miles/hr) and my husband had to immediately put the car physically back into drive. Once we finally got the vehicle to our house, I went out to check it, and the vehicle woul
... d not even start. Every single light came on yet it would not start up. We called On-Star and they couldn't do anything and told us we'd have to take it to the dealership. We finally got it to start up again, but the check engine light never went off. The next day my husband was able to get it started and immediately took it back to the dealership it was bought from, which it was actually transferred to from another dealership within the state, but on the way to the dealership we bought it from the car went into park on its own 5 more times, very dangerous and unacceptable. Once the car made it to the dealership, they could not even get the vehicle to shut off once they pulled in into the service area. My husband luckily is a professional driver, but is this was someone not as familiar or calm, this could have been a horrible catastrophe.Read more

I was driving on March 20, 2026 at about 12:00 PM when I suddenly noticed smoke, a strong gasoline smell, an oil smell, and a burning odor coming from the vehicle. I pulled over immediately because I believed the vehicle was unsafe and at risk of fire. The vehicle had to be towed. An independent repair shop later found a fuel leak at the high-pressure fuel line / fuel pump area, a loose ground wi
... re on the right-hand side of the engine, a valve cover gasket leak, and engine timing chain noise. I was informed that gasoline had sprayed throughout the engine bay. This created an immediate fire hazard even though no actual fire occurred. This problem was especially concerning because the vehicle had been inspected and serviced by an authorized Hyundai dealer in December 2025, less than about 3,000 miles earlier. The loose engine ground wire and fuel leak raise serious concerns about vehicle safety and the adequacy of the prior inspection. I contacted Hyundai the same day and reported this as a fire-risk safety issue, but I did not receive timely assistance. Because immediate dealer service was not available, I had to authorize emergency repairs at a local shop for safety reasons. No warning lights were noted before the incident. The failure was confirmed by the repair shop.Read more

I am writing to formally report a safety concern regarding my 2018 Hyundai Elantra. The vehicle has experienced a failure of the heater hose/pipe, which appears to be made of plastic and connected to a metal component. This failure has resulted in a coolant leak, creating a serious risk of engine overheating. This issue is not only inconvenient but also dangerous. A sudden loss of coolant while d
... riving can cause the engine to overheat without warning, potentially leading to engine failure, loss of vehicle control, or leaving the driver stranded in unsafe conditions. This is especially concerning while driving on busy roads or highways. Based on my experience and discussions with repair professionals, this appears to be a known issue with this model, as the part is not widely available outside of Hyundai/Kia and may indicate a design flaw. A critical cooling system component should not fail prematurely under normal driving conditions. Given the safety risks associated with this defect, I believe this issue warrants further investigation and consideration for a recall or extended warranty coverage. Consumers should not be responsible for costly repairs caused by a potentially defective design. I respectfully request that Hyundai review this issue and provide assistance with the repair, as well as take appropriate action to ensure the safety and reliability of affected vehicles. I am reporting a serious safety defect in my 2023 Ford F-150 Platinum SuperCrew (EcoBoost engine. The oil pressure warning light suddenly illuminated, indicating a loss of oil pressure. This caused the transmissi
... on to lock up, resulting in violent skidding and the truck veering off the road. I was able to regain control and avoid a collision or rollover, but the incident created an imminent risk of serious injury or fatality, especially while towing. I have maintained it properly, never missed a payment on the $74,000 truck, and drove it cross-country from Arizona to Florida without prior issues. Ford Motor Company has claimed there were "70 warnings" prior to the failure, but I received **zero** dashboard warnings, lights, messages, or indications at any point leading up to or during the event. This is the second Ford F-150 I have owned with unexplained powertrain problems. I traded a 2018 F-150 for the platinum & it repeatedly stalled without reason & required the engine to cool before restarting; dealerships (FL & TN) could not fully diagnose it, with one suggesting an oil-pump-related overheating issue despite no warning lights. Repair estimates are extremely high: Gator Ford quoted $17,000, Brandon Ford quoted $14,000, Veterans Ford quoted $12,000, and an independent shop quoted $12,000 (notably, the independent shop knew the dealership quotes without me providing them). I believe this points to a potential defect in the EcoBoost engine's oil pump system (possibly excessive pressure or failure under load/towing) combined with an unintended shift-to-Park function in the transmission/shifter electronics, creating a dangerous loss of control at highway speeds while towing. This combination of sudden engine seizure and automatic shift to Park poses an unreasonable risk of crash.Read more

Had we gotten out onto Highway 17, ours and others lives could have been severely impacted, as we likely would not have noticed nor been able to deal with the fire as quickly.
