For several months I have been having problems off and on with my vehicle not shifting into drive, neutral, or reverse. It runs fine but becomes undrivable. Until this last time, I was always able to keep trying, let it sit overnight, etc... and it would eventually shift into gear. Currently it does not, I had to have it towed to a shop to be repaired. This is a problem, the vehicle has left m
... e stranded on several occasions. My daughter was recently home from collage and I could not let her use my car for fear she would get stranded somewhere. It was towed to a local shop, who was able to confirm that the transmission has an internal short. This is a very common occurrence with this vehicle. The transmission can not be repaired and it needs a new one. Each time the transmission would fail a dash light would come on with a P in a circle with an explanation mark next to it and an engine light. This happened several times, in the past I was able to clear the light and drive the car, but this time it would not clear. The transmission is shoot and needs to be replaced. I purchased the car new in February of 2017, and have always properly maintained the vehicle. It has approximately 79,800 miles on it. I have researched this issue and it is very common, this is a known problem with the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. I have attached a Warranty Bulletin that seems like it should cover my vehicle, but I called the Chrysler Customer Hotline and they are telling me my vehicle is not covered. I have taken care of this vehicle, I drive it very gentle, there is no way this transmission should have gone bad. I am going to get this repaired at the shop, they have ordered me a new transmission. The rear defroster or related electrical wiring in the rear glass/liftgate area appears to have malfunctioned and shorted, causing a fire while the vehicle was parked, turned off, and unattended. The fire resulted in the rear glass shattering/blowing out. The incident was recorded on a residential security camera. This posed a significant safety risk because the fire started while the vehicle was
... off, creating danger to occupants, bystanders, nearby vehicles, and surrounding property. There were no prior warning indicators, messages, or symptoms known before the failure. A dealership has inspected the vehicle and provided a repair estimate consistent with failure in the rear defroster/rear glass area. I am reporting a safety-related electrical failure involving the heated steering wheel system in a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. While driving, the heated steering wheel malfunctioned and produced smoke from the steering wheel area. This created an immediate safety concern due to the presence of smoke and the potential for electrical overheating or fire in a critical driver control component. This was not a
... n isolated incident. The same system required a prior repair under warranty in late 2023. Despite that repair, the failure recurred in late 2025 with more severe symptoms, including overheating and damage to electrical components. The vehicle was taken out of service for repair, and the total time out of service related to this issue was approximately 115 days due to parts delays and repair time. The problem was confirmed and repaired by authorized dealerships, including replacement of the steering wheel and related electrical components. There were no meaningful warning indicators prior to the failure. The issue occurred during normal operations. The repeated failure of the same system, combined with smoke and electrical malfunction in the steering wheel, raises concern about a potential defect that could pose a safety risk to drivers and passengers.Read more

There were no active lawsuits that I could find to get some compensation for this loss. We had to pay our high deductible and lost personal belongings in the car. The wiring for the air bag system under the driver's seat is exposed and unprotected which has led to disconnection and or damage to the wiring harness which then results in a disabled air bag system. This is a manufacturer design flaw and a serious safety issue. Other owners who have experienced damage to their wiring harness here have had disabled air bag systems for prolonged periods and costly
... repairs that Hyundai had refused to cover under warranty despite the fact that it is an obvious design flaw and a serious safety issue. See attached photos for evidence of how exposed this wiring harness is and suscebtible to damage as well as an example of damage which can occur which other owners have reported. Damage to this unit due to poor design results in compromised driver and passenger safety and extremely costly repairs ($10,000) which it appears Hyundai is refusing to cover under warranty. Issue was confirmed the following day or two at a dealership I got the car towed to, they found a hole in my engine block due to a rod. And all documents can be provided. Police and blocker trucks were unable to arrive to the scene for 40+ min and the car was fully investigated by GM. There were no engine lights or warnings on the Chevrolet app or car dash. The only thing I can mention is on my last documented oil change, the oil was low due to high consumption, no leaks were located. Dealership also found the fuse box blown, I assume hot oil gushed all over my wire harnesses or the oil switch flipped the sensor which caused further issues, or simply a power surge. UNKNOWN exact component, but it is a critical failure within the electrical/charging system or the 48V eTorque system. The dealership previously suspected the eTorque system and replaced the belt tensioner, but the failure continues. The vehicle is currently available for inspection and has been sitting at an authorized Ram dealership for the last three weeks. The vehicle suffers a complete and s
... udden loss of motive power while driving. When it stalls, the truck automatically engages "auto park" and applies the parking brake. This has happened repeatedly while pulling into active traffic and while passing through busy intersections (most recently in downtown Chicago). This sudden, uncontrollable stop in the middle of an intersection creates an extreme and immediate risk of a severe rear-end or T-bone collision for myself, my passengers, and surrounding motorists. Yes, the dealership was able to successfully replicate the stall while their technicians were driving it. But I don't think they had any type of computer hooked up to it. However, the attempt at repair during the second service visit involved replacing the eTorque belt tensioner based on my description of the failure, acknowledging that a slip could cause the issue. They have not been able to replicate during this last visit. Despite putting over 400 test miles on the truck during the current (third) visit, they cannot get the intermittent failure to occur while hooked up to their diagnostic equipment. Yes, the vehicle has been inspected multiple times by an authorized Ram dealership. It has been in their possession for over six weeks in total across three separate service visits.Read more

This vehicle is subject to Safety Recall 24V-700 (Manufacturer Recall R24B2) due to a defect in the lithium-ion battery that can cause a fire during Level 3 DC Fast Charging. Since the initial notice, I have received four separate recall communications from the manufacturer, yet as of March 2026, no permanent remedy has been provided. The manufacturer’s only "interim" solution is an instruction
... to refrain from using the Level 3 DC Fast Charging (CHAdeMO) feature. This has effectively disabled a primary advertised function of the vehicle and creates a substantial safety risk should the port be used. This defect has rendered the vehicle unsellable on the secondary market and significantly impairs its daily utility, as I am unable to use charging infrastructure at my place of employment. The manufacturer continues to delay the final remedy with "coming soon" notifications, leaving me with an unsafe and substantially devalued asset for over a year.Read more

... . Car has been having this issue or possibly other issues contributing to this for nearly 25-30k miles. It is important to note that fuel pump was recalled in this model, car performance has significantly declined over the last 25k miles. This car is well maintained as in; regular oil, changes, transmission flushes, rear differential fluid change, tire rotation every 5-7k miles, brakes and rotors changed nearly every 30k front and back, fixing all issues as they arise. I say all of this so that there is a clear picture of the car maintenance and the issues it is having despite the proper care. This car has had several issues from about 150k miles. In my opinion this is premature for a car this well maintained. I am deeply concerned about my safety and the safety of other drivers due to a serious and worsening infotainment system malfunction in my 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid. Honda has issued Technical Service Bulletins on this infotainment system and faced class action litigation covering 2020–2022 Honda models with this same system. I am experiencing repeated and unpredictable software failures in my vehicle that create serious safety concerns. The loss of safety systems while driving, combined with persistent audible warnings, creates a dangerous driving environment by increasing distraction and reducing available safety protections. This is not an isolated incident—it has happened multiple times. It came back on and has worked pretty much since but I have seen it flickering at night on a few occasions. The next da
... y when it was light out I looked at both headlights and noticed a lot I mean a lot of condensation inside the headlight assembly. I know some fogging and some light condensation is normal on these LED lights but the amount inside the driver side headlight is not normal. And I was lucky enough to have the error and light go off and on in a fairly well lit area so thankfully I was not in an accident or driving on road that’s not well lit. There’s clearly a defect in the sealing of the headlight that’s allowing that much water in. And not having a headlight working because of an error caused by water that can disable my visibility especially on the driver side to due to the headlight not being sealed properly. There is not physical damage like a crack or anything in the housing of the headlight. And since the whole headlight needs to be replaced since it’s LED that’s $2200 before labor. And there didn’t appear to be anything wrong with the headlight no condensation when I looked at it on the car lot when I bought it on 3-4-26. I tried to have my Nissan dealer repair/replace it using the Endurance Apex Unlimited warranty I bought when I purchased the car but they won’t cover it due to a faulty seal. I’ve seen a couple post about the same side headlight on others 2019 Maxima’s with the same issue so this doesn’t appear to be a one off. And I would think headlights going out from moisture and condensation causing errors to the electric contacts controlling the headlights would be a serious safety issue that could potentially cause bodily harm or even death from an accident.Read more

While operating my 2021 Honda Civic Type R (VIN: [XXX] ) in high-ambient temperatures (approximately 95°F), the vehicle experienced a sudden and total loss of motive power during acceleration while exiting a busy intersection. This resulted in an immediate engine stall in the path of oncoming traffic, creating a severe risk of a collision. Following the stall, the vehicle was extremely difficult
... to restart. Once restarted, it entered a 'limp home' mode with a severely restricted RPM limit and multiple dashboard warnings, including 'Emissions System Problem' and 'Rev Match System Problem.' A diagnostic scan performed immediately after the incident revealed a DTC P0087 (Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too Low). The symptoms—thermal-related failure, stalling under load, and the P0087 code—are identical to the documented mechanical failures of the Denso fuel pump impeller swelling defect. Although this production year and model are known to be part of the expanded fuel pump recall population, my specific VIN is not currently showing as 'remedied' or 'open' in the manufacturer's database. I am reporting this as an active, unaddressed safety defect that poses an unreasonable risk of crash or injury due to unpredictable engine failure in traffic. My car started shutting down while driving. After the engine started seizing the key wouldn't turn in my ignition. Took car to dealership immediately on 10, 2026. Took again in 2024 for recall and other repairs. Found out after requesting previous service incidents they failed to do recall repairs and never notified me of it, or to come back. I've requested current diagnostic report several times
... in writing and verbally with codes for this current service, with non compliance. My car is still at the dealership needing work and I need current diagnostic report before I pay for repairs. I am attaching a dealership diagnostic e-Report for my 2013 Kia Optima from 2024. While the report lists “No Current DTC” for several systems, it also documents multiple “Communication Fail” errors across critical modules, including Smart Key, Head Lamp, Air Conditioner, Brake, and other systems. These communication failures indicate a broader electrical or network issue within the vehicle, not simply a failed battery. The report also shows that certain diagnostic scans were not properly performed. Additionally, there are historical fault codes related to TPMS and weight classification systems, further supporting that the vehicle has experienced ongoing electrical issues. Despite these findings, the dealership attributed the vehicle failure solely to a bad battery and did not provide a current battery diagnostic test. They also failed to address an open recall related to electrical/fuse issues prior to this failure. Based on this past diagnostic report, I believe the root cause of my vehicle’s failure is an unresolved electrical defect, potentially related to the outstanding recall, rather than normal battery wear. This has resulted in my vehicle becoming inoperable and poses a serious safety concern.Read more
