While driving, the vehicle suddenly shut off without warning. The engine lost power and multiple dashboard warning lights illuminated. The vehicle then displayed a malfunction related to the transmission, with the park (“P”) indicator blinking, and the vehicle would not shift out of park. The failure appears to be related to an electrical or ignition system issue, possibly the ignition switch
... . This created a significant safety risk as the vehicle lost power while in motion, increasing the risk of a crash. Prior to the failure, the only warning observed was a check engine light. No other warning messages were present before the incident. The problem has been confirmed by an independent mechanic/contractor. The failed component is available for inspection upon request. I was entering the on-ramp to [XXX] , from [XXX] , to merge onto the freeway east bound towards [XXX] , when my Tesla suddenly lost all power, the brakes did not work and the power steering completely failed making it feel like it was locked up. I was traveling approximately 40-50 mph at the time nearing the gore point to merge onto the freeway. Fortunately I was in the inside lane and I rolled to
... a stop away from other vehicles. I could not steer at all. Had I been completely on the freeway, I could have been rear ended badly. I had my two young boys in the vehicle with me, both [XXX] and [XXX] . We were completely trapped in the vehicle with no power. My [XXX] old remembered to use the manual latch to get out. I opened my door manually and It broke my driver side glass window. Vehicles were passing us rapidly to enter the freeway. I called my husband who is a police officer and he came and picked us up. We called Tesla who said they could not get a read on our battery whatsoever. We called a tow company and had this vehicle towed to Tesla repair center in [XXX] , after reporting our traumatic event. They claim our warranty is expired, but our vehicle only has 37,638 miles and should be covered under the 8 year, 120,000 mile warranty that covers a major malfunction like this. On February 23, 2026, while driving my 2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV home from Folsom Chevrolet following a prior repair visit, the “Service Park Assist System” warning illuminated, first intermittently, then after a few miles, continuously for the remainder of the 11-mile drive home. During the same drive, while reversing with no objects present behind or around the vehicle, the automatic emergen
... cy braking system activated and applied the brakes with significant force without cause. The vehicle was returned to Folsom Chevrolet (Repair Order #559378, opened February 23, 2026). Diagnostic code U1126 was found — indicating the left rear short range radar sensor had lost communication on CAN Bus 8. The sensor module was on national backorder, keeping the vehicle out of service for approximately two weeks. The module was replaced and programmed on March 7, 2026. Safety concern: Unexpected activation of automatic emergency braking with no objects present creates a serious collision risk from following traffic. This failure occurred on public roads during normal driving. Additionally, the U1126 CAN bus communication fault is the same vehicle communication architecture implicated in the battery/electrical failure documented in Repair Orders #558923 and #559167, suggesting these failures share a common root cause in the vehicle’s electrical communication network rather than representing isolated component failures.Read more

... lly tow from my garage, as the front wheels were locked and could not roll freely. AAA and I measured the 12V battery at 11.8 volts. AAA technician made attempt to jump 12 volt battery with no success. He made the observation that it was very rare for an EV not to start once the 12 volt battery was jumped. The vehicle was towed to Folsom Chevrolet (Repair Order #558923, opened February 10, 2026). The technician performed a global reset, BECM reprogramming, standalone radio programming, and a manual reset procedure. The repair order was closed with “confirmed no further concerns,” however the root cause — identified in the repair notes as a possible HV module communication fault — was never confirmed diagnosed or repaired. Seven days later (February 17, 2026, RO #559167), the vehicle returned to the dealer with overnight 12V voltage loss, starting at 12.12V and continuing to drop. A parasitic draw test found an 11mA draw. After a second overnight test the dealer closed the repair order as “no concerns found” without identifying or repairing a root cause. Safety concern: A vehicle that cannot be started, cannot be charged, and cannot be placed in neutral poses a serious safety risk — particularly if such a failure occurs on a roadway rather than in a driveway. The inability to shift to neutral prevents the driver from clearing the vehicle from traffic. The root cause of this dual electrical failure has never been confirmed repaired despite two repair attempts.Read more

I was notified in November 2025 that the transmission shift cable in my 2015 Dodge Dart was being recalled. There was no remedy at the time, however it is now the end of March 2026 and a remedy remains unavailable. This has put my safety and the safety of others on the road at risk because, per the safety recall notice I was sent, "[failure of the transmission shift cable] can cause an unexpected
... and unrecoverable loss of PARK function and/or vehicle movement in an unintended direction which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning and/or injury to other outside the vehicle". I have re-confirmed with my local dealership that the remedy is still unavailable and had it inspected by their mechanics. There are no warning lights on the dash board relating to this issue; only the tire pressure sensor light remains. This is due to mission TPMS sensors that I've planned to address at a later time because they don't affect the car's ability to drive. I attempted to pay for the repair myself and submit for reimbursement, however was informed by a trusted mechanic that that was not possible because a better part has not yet been made. Replacing the malfunctioning cable might land me back in the exact same position I am in now and for my safety and that of others it was better to wait until the manufacturer found the remedy. That was over 2 weeks ago and the status remains the same. I find it incredibly irresponsible on the part of the manufacturer to allow this issue to continue for almost 6 months.Read more

On 3/18/26 i reported a serious safety issue involving my vehicle, which currently has an open manufacturer recall with no available remedy. The vehicle has experienced multiple dangerous and malfunctioning conditions. First, the vehicle intermittently displays a dashboard message indicating that the vehicle is "not in park" even when it is clearly in the park position. When this occurs, I am unab
... le to turn the vehicle off. I have had to wait approximately 15 minutes before the vehicle will allow me to shut it down.Second, while driving at approximately 40 mph, including while exiting the highway, the vehicle has stalled and completely shut off while in motion. This has occurred multiple times and created a significant safety risk due to sudden loss of power during active driving. Additionally, the vehicle frequently displays a message stating "engine warming, please wait to start," even when weather conditions are warm. Most recently, at approximately 70 degrees outside, the vehicle would not start and continued to display the message. I waited approximately one hour attempting to start the vehicle before it randomly started. These issues appear to be worsening. I attempted to schedule repair for the open recall, but I was advised by the manufacturer that there is currently no remedy available. Due to the vehicle stalling in motion and preventing proper shutdown and startup, I believe this represents a serious safety defect that puts me and others at risk. The vehicle previously experienced stalling while driving in motion. I brought the vehicle in for a recall repair on 01/27/25. #U90 2014-2016 at davis moore After the recall repair, the stalling condition improved; however, the vehicle began experiencing additional serious issues including the vehicle not recognizing the park position, inability to shut off, and intermittent failure to start with "engine warming" messages. I am filing this complaint regarding serious safety and consumer protection concerns involving my 2022 Jeep Wrangler (VIN: [XXX] ), manufactured by Stellantis, as well as issues involving the towing company E&R Towing following my accident. Prior to my accident on November 8, 2025, my vehicle experienced multiple ongoing mechanical issues, including overheating, shaking while driving, and abnormal
... loud noises. These issues raised serious safety concerns and were not properly resolved. On November 8, 2025, I was involved in a rollover accident. Following the accident, Stellantis initiated an investigation and retained Bosch/Engineering Analysis Associates to extract Event Data Recorder (EDR) data from my vehicle. While presented as an independent inspection, this analysis was conducted by a vendor hired by Stellantis, raising concerns about the objectivity and scope of the findings. Stellantis ultimately denied responsibility, stating that the conditions of the crash did not meet the threshold for airbag deployment. However, this conclusion fails to address the ongoing mechanical and safety issues I experienced prior to the accident, including the possibility of system or sensor malfunction. Additionally, my claim for relief under Illinois Lemon Law was denied without fully considering the pattern of defects and safety concerns. I have also filed a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Complaint #XXX, regarding safety concerns with this vehicle. Following the accident, my vehicle was handled by E&R Towing. I have concerns regarding how my vehicle was managed after the crash, including the handling process and lack of transparency regarding procedures and fees. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed for potential violations of Illinois consumer protection laws, including unfair or deceptive practices, failure to properly address known vehicle safety issues, and improper handling of my vehicle following acciden INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACTRead more

The vehicle was at 17% state of charge with no ability to charge via AC. Thre

Tesla roadside assistance instructed me to drive the vehicle to the [XXX] service center — a location the vehicle could not safely reach given its state of charge and inability to charge en route. This represents a safety concern as the vehicle was effectively stranded with no viable path to charging or service without third-party transport. The vehicle is well within its warranty period (basic 4yr/50k, battery 8yr/150k) and a service appointment has been opened with Tesla. This failure occurred with no warning from the vehicle's monitoring systems or Tesla app prior to the fault appearing.
