Vehicle was parked in closed garage overnight. In the morning I tried to start the car and it was unresponsive. key fobs, digital keys, NFC cards none of them were able to open the car. Used a physical key to open the door, and then tried to turn the car on, nothing worked all screens remained black and car was unresponsive. AAA confirmed that the 12V battery was fully dead. When they jumped th

I got it to the dealership safely and they confirmed that the 12V battery was fully dead and car only turns in if jumped. They also confirmed that the ICCU had a failure as well and they are going to need to replace the entire battery pack/ICCU assembly.Read more

A 2024 Genesis G70 with 10,860 miles suffered a severe multi-system safety failure. While driving at highway speeds, the vehicle executed unexpected, unprompted automatic emergency braking (phantom braking) X2 with no forward threats present, creating an immediate highway collision hazard. Prior to this, the forward-facing cabin multifunction camera assembly near the rearview mirror experienced an
... electrical short and thermal runaway event, reaching a recorded surface temperature of 363°F and causing occupant blister burns to fingers. The failure caused a total collapse of the ADAS sensor grid, shutting off the Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping systems, HDA, etc. Additionally, the vehicle exhibits a severe rear differential/driveline humming, a drastic drop in fuel economy to 10.3 MPG, an A/C condensation line blockage flooding the lower undercover, and a replacement headlight housing with a dangerous 25-foot dead spot. Werner Hyundai looked at the vehicle which was 3 days days without resolution, and it has now been flatbedded to Jenkins Genesis of Ocala. The vehicle remains an unresolved, dangerous safety defect. This has been 39 days since this started. I have been trying to get Genesis Corporate to help me in this and it has been 40 days tomorrow with no avail.Read more

While driving at a speed just under 45 mph, my Mazda CX-70 suddenly displayed and chimed “Hybrid System Malfunction. Have Vehicle Inspected.“. This warning startled me because I am familiar with issues since I had briefly owned a CX-90 PHEV the first year this model came out and it had the same exact problem. I discovered that this issue carries serious safety concerns and ended up convincing
... the dealer to swap the vehicle for a CX-90 inline 6 gas only model after hours of pleading. I ended up signing up for another lease a couple of years later with this current CX-70 PHEV, as I was told that the “bugs” have pretty much been worked out so I would give it another try. This warning continued to stay on as I drove for a few minutes so I immediately took the car straight to the Mazda dealership service department where it was kept 24 hours. The dealer said that the issue resolved itself - something to do with not driving the vehicle interchangeably enough between gas and EV mode. The photo was taken once I slowed down to stop at an intersection since it took me 15 minutes to drive to the dealer.Read more

While driving to work, the rear driver-side window suddenly fell down into the door without warning. The power window/regulator system appears to have failed. The window would not stay up or operate normally afterward. The failed component is available for inspection upon request. This created a safety concern because the vehicle could not be secured, outside air/noise entered the vehicle while d
... riving, and rain/debris could enter the passenger compartment. It also created a distraction while driving because the sudden window drop was unexpected. There were no warning lights, dashboard messages, or prior symptoms before the failure. The issue has not yet been confirmed by a dealer or independent repair shop. The vehicle/component has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance, or others. The suspected failed component is the rear driver-side power window regulator or related window mechanism. Cause is unknown.Read more

2023 Volkswagen ID.4 (VIN [XXX] ), purchased new [XXX]; now ~20,000 miles. Since the first months of ownership it has had recurring, intermittent electrical/software/capacitive-control and safety failures: the center infotainment screen and instrument cluster go blank while driving (loss of speedometer); the power windows operate opposite to the control input or fail to respond (about 1 in 4 drive
... s); the vehicle intermittently fails to detect occupants and enters standby while people are inside, including while charging; door handles malfunction; and the high-voltage battery has recently been overheating. It is subject to recalls 919A/24V-344 (display software), 57J9/24V-651 (door handles), and 93EA/26V-030 & 26V-028 (battery fire risk), yet the defects persist after these remedies. Dealers repeatedly recorded "could not duplicate" - at times despite video I provided - but a second dealer verified the display and window faults and replaced the J685 display unit and the driver's-door master window switch ([XXX], May 2025). VW's own recall filing (24V-344) states a "definitive root cause could not be established." Dealers also clear the CAN bus / fault memory during recall service, erasing the intermittent codes and making the defects hard to document. These failures create genuine crash and fire risk. No crash or injury to date. Dated video and repair-order documentation available - some provided in packet below. CHRONOLOGY OF CASCADING VEHICLE SAFETY FAILURES VIN [XXX] Vehicle 2015 Honda CR-V. 1 STRUCTURAL BODY FRAME DEFECT. Vehicle has a chronic upper body structural alignment defect allowing massive water intrusion to bypass factory headliner and moonroof seals. Multiple consecutive factory OEM headliners have been destroyed by water logging, proving the upper tracking architecture is permanently warpe
... d and cannot maintain an environmental seal. 2 ELECTRICAL FAILURE ENGINE STALL HAZARD. Saturated water tracking through the upper frame has migrated into primary engine bay electrical lines. This chronic moisture caused a severe short circuit that fried the vehicle alternator, voltage regulator, and primary battery requiring emergency replacement. This infrastructure breakdown creates an imminent safety risk of sudden loss of vehicle charging power and dangerous engine stalling while operating at highway speeds. 3 ADAS INFRASTRUCTURE FAILURES. Moisture migration has breached the primary dashboard wire harnesses causing active continuous power dropouts and glitching across the center infotainment screen and main driver instrument display interface, blinding the operator to speedometers and critical crash avoidance alerts. 4 AIRBAG HAZARDS ACTIVE BIOHAZARD. Saturated water tracking down internal pillars runs directly over Side Curtain Airbag modules and electronic connectors, risking sensor corrosion. Cabin flooding has saturated seating foam, endangering electronic Occupant Classification Sensors OCS that regulate passenger airbag deployment forces. Unremediated moisture left toxic mold spores festering beneath the seating infrastructure, causing severe respiratory irritation to occupants. REPAIR STATUS. Unresolved safety defect. Repair networks failed to remediate structural hazards. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I am reporting a serious safety defect involving my 2021 Chevrolet vehicle. While driving, multiple warnings appeared including “Service Power Steering,” “Steering Assist is Reduced,” “Service ESC,” and “Service Battery Charging System.” The vehicle then lost steering assist, braking performance became unreliable, and it created a serious risk of crash. The vehicle later shut down
... completely and has remained inoperable. The failure appears electrical and affected multiple critical systems at once, suggesting a cascading system malfunction. Since the incident, the vehicle has not restarted or operated normally. I have replaced the battery, alternator, starter, ignition switch, brake vacuum pump, ECM, spark plugs, fuses, and relays, but the issue persists. The vehicle still shows charging system faults and severe battery drain, indicating an unresolved underlying electrical defect. I have found numerous reports from other 2021 Chevrolet owners describing nearly identical failures, including sudden loss of power steering assist, ESC warnings, charging system failures, battery drain, and complete vehicle shutdowns. This suggests a possible widespread defect affecting this model year. Given the loss of steering assist, braking irregularities, and full vehicle shutdown while driving, I request NHTSA investigate this issue for a potential safety-related defect and determine whether a recall or manufacturer action is necessary.Read more

Approximately 8 months ago, I brought my car to the BMW dealership Keeler's in Latham, NY 12110 for a Recall 24V-608:474, the dealer held my car for a day. I call BMW and tell them about my complaints; they told me to bring in my car to get it look at. I brought the car to Keeler. The Service Advisor Daniel Purpura told me that my car has be reset and a shelter cap replace and the shop mechanic drove it, and now the check engine light is off. COMPONENT: Power Liftgate Control Module (PTG module). Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. WHAT HAPPENED: On approximately April 7, 2026, while driving in rain, a "Power Tailgate Problem" warning appeared on the instrument cluster. Following that event, all powered liftgate operation became permanently inoperable — interior button, exterior button, and key fob all failed. CAUSE:
... An authorized Honda dealer confirmed in writing (service invoice, May 1, 2026): "Power Liftgate Control Unit has corrosion from water leak." The water intrusion originates from defective factory polyurethane seam sealer on the rear drip rail — a known manufacturing defect on 2018-2019 Odysseys documented in Honda TSB MC-10152401. SAFETY RISK: The same water intrusion that destroys the PTG module is documented to cause the liftgate to open unexpectedly while driving, posing a direct hazard to occupants and other motorists. NHTSA is already investigating this issue across 2018-2022 Odysseys. WARNING SYMPTOMS: "Power Tailgate Problem" warning on instrument panel cluster appeared during rain exposure prior to full failure. It was as if we hit deep pot holes with both front tires which we didn't as we were on a smooth highway. The light is still on and it's in limp mode.Read more

The 2012-2015 Dodge Journey was previously subject to an NHTSA recall for an electronic stability control module defect producing similar ABS warning and brake-related symptoms. The 2016 model year was not included in that recall. Other 2016 Dodge Journey owners have reported the same symptoms to consumer complaint databases and noted the gap in recall coverage. The 2018 Dodge Journey was separate
... ly recalled for a brake caliper defect affecting braking performance. The defects I experienced on this 2016 vehicle appear consistent with a documented pattern across multiple Dodge Journey model years that may warrant extending recall coverage.Read more

Intermittently, when coming from a stop (stop sign, red light, etc) or recent start of the vehicle, the Sorento will not accelerate past approximately 30 miles per hour and the auto-stop light will flash orange in the panel. Once the vehicle is stopped, turned off, and restarted, it goes back to operating as it should and accelerates like normal. This has happened when driving on small, low spe
... ed limit roads and on large, high speed limit roads. My safety and the safety of those driving around me is put at risk when vehicles around me are expecting me to drive a certain speed but I can't and am looking for a safe place to pull over to stop and restart the vehicle. To date, the vehicle acceleration has not suddenly dropped from a high speed to a low speed thankfully, but when the issue presents itself, it will not allow the vehicle to accelerate above the 30mph range. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. It is currently at a dealership that is working to reproduce and confirm the problem. There are Reddit threads that discuss other Sorento owners experiencing this same issue. To my knowledge, there were not any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to this issue presenting itself. It has been happening on and off for the last 1-2 years. My vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others but I am happy to have any of them do so. A simple battery replacement has not resolved the issue - it was happening before I had my battery replaced and it has happened since having my battery replaced.Read more

The ICCU failed on my 2025 Ioniq 5 within 3 months of ownership and only 811 miles on it. The weather that morning was slightly chilly but not cold. I turned on the car and put it into reverse and after backing up only a couple feet, I heard a pop and the "Check Vehicle Electrical System" message and warning light came on. I had not DC fast charged the car since owning it and had only charged it o
... n level 2 chargers at about 9.6kw to 12kw. The car was not charging the night before the issue occurred and had not been on the charger for several days previously as the battery level was around 70%. There were no issues or symptoms before prior to the failure. The car was towed to the dealership and the ICCU and high voltage were replaced under warranty. This is a major issue with the car and it keeps on happening to eGMP platform cars. The same issue happened with my 2023 Ioniq 5. Hyundai is not providing any information to consumers if they have actually identified the cause of the frequent failures or have manufactured a new part that corrects the manufacturing defect. Please direct Hyundai to issue a statement if they have found a fix or there needs to be a major recall until they identify and correct the underlying problem with the ICCU.Read more

2022 Hyundai Sonata N Line, VIN [XXX] , purchased August 15, 2025 with low mileage under original manufacturer warranty. Within 3 months, recurring transmission and drivability failures began. Six repair visits since November 2025; 71+ cumulative days out of service within 8 months. Visit 1 (11/24/25, 14,748 mi): Hesitation/failure to accelerate from stop. Could not duplicate. Visit 2 (12/4/25, 1
... 4,800 mi): Same concern. Fault codes found; auxiliary pump and relay replaced. Visit 3 (1/19/26, 15,982 mi): Check engine light, jerking. External oil pump leaking; replacement required. Visit 4 (1/30/26, 16,025 mi): Check engine light. TCU update, DCT learning performed; declared resolved. Visit 5 (2/19/26, 16,119 mi): Check engine light returned. Transmission oil pump failed; replaced. Visit 6 (4/14/26, 16,945 mi — OPEN 44+ days): Post-repair lurching, infotainment failure, ongoing jerking. On 5/28/26, the service manager at McDonough Hyundai (McDonough, GA) stated the vehicle likely requires a complete transmission replacement and disclosed approximately 4 additional vehicles at the same dealership with identical unresolved issues. Hyundai Motor America refuses to authorize repairs or Techline escalation unless the dealership confirms the intermittent concern — a structural barrier that prevents warranty resolution. Safety concern: repeated failure to accelerate normally from a stop creates direct risk of rear-end collision or inability to clear intersections. Last week, I opened my vehicle door and noticed water standing in the foot well. I didn't think too much of it until I started driving down the street and gallons of water were gushing on my feet in the footwell from behind the steering wheel and fuse box. I parked and waited for it to dry out a few days. I took my vehicle to the dealer and was shocked to hear that this is caused because the s
... unroof has a drainage system, and when the primary drain clogs, due to pollen or dirt, the secondary drain drains directly into the driver footwell. They advised that this is an issue that disregards vehicle age and sunroof non-use. Because this is a new vehicle, all of my basic maintenance and inspections have been provider by the Honda dealer. I asked why this had not been inspected on my previous service appointments and was told the primary drain for the sunroof can only be inspected by camera. It is only when the primary drain becomes clogged that the water dumps into the driver side footwell. I searched my owner manual and found nothing to indicate or require that the primary sunroof drain should be inspected, cleaned or serviced, at any of the maintenance intervals, and especially not during the first 2 years of ownership. The steering column, fuse box, and driver footwell house all of the necessary electrical and mechanical parts for steering, braking, acceleration, lighting and all other electrical systems controls. Additionally, if this were to happen while driving, the distraction to the driver could be catastrophic. My vehicle has been at the dealer for a week to clear the clog in the primary sunroof drain, remove the seat and carpet to dry, & inspect the electric systems including the power seat. I can make the vehicle available for inspection as needed and the dealer can provide the camera inspection that diagnosed the issue. This happened due to everyday dust and pollen, and there was no advance warning that this drain failure was imminent.Read more

Saturday may 23 at night my car started showing a message that states “Braking Power Low Stop in a Safe Place See Owner's Manual” I took it to Toyota on Tuesday may 2026 they said it was fine and nothing was wrong even after I said that message kept appearing at least five times each time I was driving the vehicle since Saturday. After they checked it the problem got worse and now it appears 9

Along side many other warning comes and go but the main ones that stay are the check engine and the braking power low one. I am worried because this all started happening whenever I accelerated even just a little bit and it could end up causing accidents.Read more

This vehicle was bought brand new and has received proper maintenance from one dealership since purchasing. I had to replace the thermostat and radiator before owning the vehicle three years. Within two years of owning the vehicle, my battery went out, which I thought seemed a little early. Then shortly after, I noticed that my locks weren’t engaging when I took my car out of park. Then my ca
... r wouldn’t even lock. When I tried to do it on the door control, nothing happened, then when I used my key to do it, it caused the alarm to go off and I couldn’t get it to stop. This resolved after a day, and then it rained again, and it started again. This time, my car wouldn’t unlock and I was trapped in my vehicle and had to open the trunk to get out. This is a known issue according to GMC with no fix. I took it to the dealer, and the codes were saying BCM and told it was being replaced but instead was “serviced”. This issue has begun again, and now I’m being told the locks are the issue and not the BCM, and that may not be covered under warranty. Not being able to get out of your vehicle or not being able to lock your car is a safety issue for passengers leaving them vulnerable to theft, someone entering their car while they’re in it and hurting them. I have had so many issues out of this vehicle and I do not believe I should have to pay for a repair that is a safety issue KNOWN TO THE COMPANY. I feel unsafe driving this vehicle now and it doesn’t even have 60k on it. So I’ve estimated on the date of the first incident and the new one just Happened this week. The information about this issue can be obtained from my dealership and GMC as it is a known issue with no real fix.Read more
