The contact owns a 2022 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, another vehicle failed to stop at a red light. Consequently, the other vehicle collided with the vehicle on the passenger's side door and front quarter panel, sending the vehicle careening and nearly tipping over before coming to a complete stop. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were
... illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who submitted a request to the manufacturer to have an engineer inspect the vehicle. The engineer reviewed the incident recorder and informed the contact that the air bags did not deploy because the occupancy sensor did not detect a passenger. The contact disputed the findings, stating that her son was occupying the passenger seat and had been wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. The contact was transported to an area hospital by EMT and treated for back pain. She later followed up with her primary care physician and neurosurgeon who located a tear just below where a previous surgery was performed stating that the tear was not present as of her most recent evaluation before the accident. The contact stated that she previously had back surgery to repair and/or remove discs L3, L4, and L5. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The contact was later informed by the manufacturer that there was no data from the incident recorder on the date of the collision. The failure mileage was 24,000.Read more

Shortly after purchasing my 2018 Nissan Altima (new), there was a recall concerning the passenger side airbag. I took the car to the dealer and had it serviced. Months later, there was a second recall and I took it back promptly; however, the dealer said that nothing was wrong. It was already serviced. I indicated that I had received a second notice. Some time passed, and the same airbag light in

I indicated that this is the same problem from the beginning and I was going to file a lawsuit. The dealer claimed to have fixed the sensor and told me it was a complimentary charge based on "goodwill". The same sensor light is on again. I have had no accidents and I have not had my car serviced for any electrical issues. It was inspected and passed with a warning to get the sensor taken care of. The original dealer has now sold to another Nissan dealer. I need to be sure that I am safe should I have a situation where the passenger side airbag needs to deploy. This is not fair to me. ... due to a sunroof leak and clogged drains. [2/14] – Took my car to AutoNation Toyota due to a persistent water leak. The dealership diagnosed the issue as a clogged sunroof leak and clogged drains but did not provide clear documentation that they properly inspected the roof rail gasket. [2/18] – Dealership denied repair under 22TE05 but then stated they could replace the roof rail gaskets if my insurance paid for it—which contradicts their claim. [2/18] – I escalated my case to Toyota Corporate for review, but I am still waiting for a response. My car was left outside in the rain, potentially worsening the water damage. The dealership never provided me with a written repair estimate. Safety Concerns & Impact on Vehicle Use: I am worried about driving my car due to potential electrical system failure and airbag malfunctions caused by water damage. According to industry knowledge and Toyota customer experiences, a roof rail leak can directly contribute to all of the issues the dealership claims my car has: Clogged A/C Drainage System – Water leaking from the roof rails can enter the A/C system, causing drainage backup, mold, and excessive moisture buildup. Sunroof Leaks & Drainage Problems – If excess water enters through roof rail failure, it can overwhelm the sunroof drainage system, making it appear clogged when the root cause is actually the failing roof seal. Interior Water Damage – If the roof rail clips fail, water leaks into the headliner, side pillars, dashboard, and footwells, leading to electrical issues, carpet damage, and excessive moisture insideRead more

Hello, My VIN is [XXX] and I have a 2014 Jeep Compass Latitude. I took my vehicle into the Jeep Dealership on Val Vista and Williamsfield Rd to have my airbag recall serviced. I picked up my vehicle and the airbag light was still on, I didn't think too much about it since it could have not been related to the airbag recall. However, I was later informed by pep boys and another mechanic that
... the airbag recall was not replaced. I was also informed on the phone by a dealership service man they did not have the part to replace the airbag and it did not get fixed even though they stated on the paperwork and when I picked it up that the airbag recall was serviced and the airbag was functioning properly, I have contacted the attorney general and the dealership regarding this issue and the dealership is claiming im incorrect and they serviced my air bag and asked me to bring the car in to reset the airbag light and see if there is something else going on with the airbag. The airbag recall part that was supposed to be replaced is the original manufactured airbag from 2013. I trusted the dealership on their word that the airbag was working and they let me drive around like that with my family while they cashed the 2500 check and did nothing with the airbag recall replacement. I am concerned about the actions of the dealership for my families safety as well as other families safety when they take their car to this dealership to get their recall's serviced. I would like to fix the problem with my airbag without having to take it to this specific dealership and would like to let others know so we can avoid any injuries or anything serious happening as a result of this dealership not actually fixing their safety recalls. Incident date: Feb 23, 2025
This is not connected with a specific crash in this vehicle. It is a defect with all vehicles with this seat. There is known common defect with the stitching on the side of the front seats covering the airbag. The stitching is designed to come apart if an airbag is deployed. The defective stitching deteriorates and falls apart. This exposes the airbag system in the seat. This occurs on all GM ve
... hicles with the same leather seats. Models include Suburbans, Yukons, and pickup trucks. In this Suburban the stiching started to come apart about 6 years ago with a few loose threads. The entire side of the seat has now come apart. The rest of the seat is in relatively good repair without any holes, rips or torn stitching. GM claims this is cosmetic and not covered. The safety issues caused by this includes the potential deterioration of the airbag system interfering with deployment in a crash. Another safety issue is the potential for foreign objects to get lodged in this space and injuring someone if the airbag goes off. The third safety issue is the potential of a person, or child, to access the airbag and cause it to go off without warning.Read more

Incident date: Feb 10, 2025
The side curtain airbags deployed while I was sitting in the passenger's side of the car looking into the glove compartment for about ten minutes with the car being completely off and parked in the driveway. The Ignition was off and there was glitching and clicking sounds seconds before the airbags deployed. This could have happened at any point while driving on the street or the freeway. It could
... have caused an accident and could have killed me if it happened elsewhere. It could have been the passenger's side airbag that deployed and I could have been seriously injured. This incident happened on a Sunday, so I had the car towed to Honda the following day. Honda's response after investigating: "We contacted American Honda Technical Support. Our American Honda District Rep informed us to have the customer contact her insurance provider for repairs." Aside from this official response, I was told that they investigated what they could and found no reason as to why the airbags would have deployed. I was told I had two options. Pay for repair with them or report it to the insurance. I stated that the release of the vehicle was a liability if I decided to not pay for repairs with Honda. After some dialogue, they helped with a loaner car and did not release the car to me. There were no warning lights or messages on the dash whatsoever. About a month prior to this incident, the car started alarming randomly. The random alarming would stop when disconnecting the hood latch sensor. I took the car in for a diagnosis and Honda reported that the cause of the alarm was the keyless access unit. The car (screen and dash) would still glitch after the hood latch sensor was disconnected. My hope is that Honda & American Honda admit responsibility & provide a solution not only for me but for all Honda Pilot owners that may be in danger. Investigating should be a priority, but even if repairs are done to my vehicle, I no longer feel safe driving a my vehicle.Read more
