My 2023 Toyota Tacoma creates an error message on my console screen "A Malfunction in the SRS Airbag System has been detected. Contact your Toyota dealer to have your vehicle inspected." In 2024, the first error message appeared. Same as above. By January 2025, there also appeared a red indicator light on the dashboard displaying something about the seat belt or airbag. It stayed continually on
... . I took it to the Lonestar Toyota dealership and they told me the airbags were considered part of the drive train and the issue was still under warranty. They returned my pick up to me while we ordered the airbag parts they needed to fix the issue. The parts arrived in February and on Thursday, February 20th I dropped off my vehicle and picked it up on Friday, February 28. When I picked up the tacoma, the notes on the invoice said, "Tech replaced the passenger side airbag, airbag light is off." Later that evening, the error message on the console screen returned. Same as above, "A malfunction in the SRS airbag system has been detected. Contact your Toyota dealer to have your vehicle inspected." On Monday morning, March 3 I returned the 2023 Toyota Tacoma and left it there for a week when I picked it up the following Monday, March 10th. This invoice said, "could not duplicate customer concern at this time". Even though the error message was not on the Console screen by the time I took it to the service department it was still visible within the notification history. The very next Wednesday, March 12th, the error message on the console screen appeared once again, and I arrived at the dealership within the hour with the error message still within the history, even though it was not on the main console screen. The notes on this last invoice states, "history of airbag system malfunction was cleared. The computer was reset and no message is currently populating." I picked up my vehicle March 21. I received a notice March 14th of 2024 indicating that the side curtain airbag on my charger may fail and cause shrapnel to go into the passenger and driver's area and possibly causing injury. On [XXX], I was involved in a high-speed T-bone collision with a FedEx truck while driving my 2019 Toyota Camry SE (VIN: [XXX] ). Despite the severity of the crash — which totaled my vehicle, caused the windshield to crack, and resulted in my head slamming into the steering wheel — none of the vehicle’s airbags deployed, including the driver’s front airbag. As a direct result of this fail
... ure, I sustained head trauma and neurological symptoms. A CT scan taken immediately after the crash revealed a previously undiagnosed 11–12mm partially thrombosed brain aneurysm, which is now causing ongoing vision problems, speech issues, memory loss, and loss of balance. Upon researching known defects, I discovered that my vehicle had a recall for an improperly calibrated Occupant Classification System (OCS) that may prevent airbag deployment — recall #K0M, issued in 2019. I never received any notification of this defect from Toyota. The fact that no airbags deployed in a crash this severe clearly points to a critical safety system failure. I believe this failure greatly worsened my injuries and created long-term health risks that would not exist had the safety systems worked as designed. I am requesting a full investigation and am pursuing a claim for product liability and manufacturer negligence. This complaint is part of a formal record to hold Toyota accountable and protect other drivers from similar harm. I have a safety concern on my 2023 Ford 250 SuperDuty Pickup. The front passenger seatbelt indicator does not engage when a person sits in the seat. The other 4 seats (front driver & 3 back seats) in the vehicle engage as soon as a person sits in the seat showing the seat red in the on the dash until the seatbelt is engaged and then turns green with a check mark on it. When a person sits
... in the front passenger seat the seat does not light up on the dashboard like there is no one sitting in the seat. Once the seatbelt is clicked in, the seat then turns to green with a check mark and then if the seatbelt is unclicked the seat will turn red. I took the vehicle in to be looked at. The Ford Dealership put in a new part and it reacted the same way. They then said that they checked and the seat was working as designed and there was no issue. I asked them to confirm that the airbags would still engage. They would not confirm that. I then called Ford's Hotline with my concerns, they said based on what they could see, the airbags would still engage. I feel that all the seats should react the same way and if a person is sitting in that front seat and doesn't use the seatbelt, the vehicle doesn't recognize that a person is in the seat. And if so, possibly the airbags do not work.Read more

While driving at approximately 20 mph on a residential road during slushy conditions, the side curtain airbags deployed without warning. There was no collision, no impact, and no indication of a rollover or crash. A police officer arrived and completed a report, which noted no crash had occurred. The airbag deployment caused damage throughout the vehicle, and the car has since been declared a tot

When they did respond, they claimed the airbags deployed properly based on “connected data” indicating a possible rollover. However, they refused to provide any proof of this data, any Event Data Recorder (EDR) data, or any technical explanation of what triggered the deployment. No warning lights or messages were displayed before the deployment. The local dealership that had the vehicle inspected the physical damage but did not confirm a rollover or any significant structural event. Mazda has refused to release their investigation data and instead closed the case without transparency. This deployment caused significant damage and created safety and financial risk.
