This August will make two years since my airbags deployed. When closing the passenger door, all of the airbags deployed(with the exception of the dashboard). This normal amount of force caused this to happen. I have also read many complaints with the same issue as mine, and a lot of them are not on the recall list. I want to file this complaint to hopefully bring forward a resolution. Also
... , around the same time, while traveling to another state, my piston rings failed. They collapsed together. I had to have it “fixed” and towed to a near by auto shop. When I got back on the road, another spark plug failed. When I finally got home with my car, I took it to my local dealership. After taking my entire engine apart, they found that my piston rings failed”collapsed together”. This was a hefty bill. After some more research on my car, I found that this is only one reason why this model of Honda was discontinued. There is a malfunction with the engineering. I have not been reimbursed for the expense of a repair that I am not responsible for. Thank you. During a routine maintenance appointment with my mechanic, the airbag warning light illuminated on the dashboard immediately following service. I brought the vehicle to a dealership for diagnosis and was informed that the issue is due to a manufacturer-issued recall affecting the airbag system. However, I was also told that no replacement parts are currently available and there is no estimated dat
... e for when the defective component can be replaced. This creates a serious safety risk, as the vehicle may now be operating with a disabled or malfunctioning airbag system, which could fail to deploy in the event of a collision. I am forced to drive a vehicle that has been acknowledged as unsafe by the manufacturer and dealer, without remedy or safe alternative provided. The dealer confirmed the recall and the unavailability of parts, but has offered no loaner vehicle, reimbursement, or temporary resolution. I am requesting that NHTSA intervene to ensure that: The manufacturer remedies the safety defect in a timely manner. Affected drivers are provided with safe alternative transportation if parts are delayed. Accountability measures are enforced if harm results from known but unresolved recalls. Component/System for inspection: Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Warning lights/symptoms: The airbag indicator light turned on immediately after routine service. Dealer confirmed problem: Yes. Manufacturer informed: Indirectly, through dealer report. Police/Insurance involved: No.Read more

Passenger air bag not working light of airbag system stays on
Incident date: Dec 10, 2024
I am writing to formally express my deep concern and frustration regarding the prolonged recall of the passenger-side airbag in my 2020 Lexus ES350 (VIN #[XXX]). The recall numbers are (23LA03, 23LB03 and 23V865) these were issued in December of 2023, which has been more than a year. Lexus has provided a rental car for all this time, which demonstrates this recall is a safety issue. Despite repe
... ated inquiries, to Lexus and Toyota leadership there has been no resolution or clear timeline for repair. This extended delay in addressing a critical safety issue is unacceptable. Airbags are a vital component of vehicle safety; I will not drive my car with a passenger in the front seat. and the continued inability to resolve this problem places both passengers and drivers at unnecessary risk. As a responsible vehicle owner, I find it deeply troubling that there has been no sense of urgency from Lexus or the involved regulatory bodies to ensure a prompt resolution. I urge the NHTSA to take immediate action in investigating this matter and compelling Lexus to provide a definitive solution to this prolonged recall. It is imperative that vehicle manufacturers are held accountable for addressing serious safety concerns within a reasonable timeframe. Additionally, I request that the NHTSA provide any available information on what steps are being taken to expedite these repairs and ensure consumer safety. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your prompt response and any assistance you can provide in resolving this ongoing safety issue. Water intrusion from front sunroof when vehicle is parked at a 5% grade with the nose downward. Multiple vehicles exhibit this issue. Toyota is not creating any TSB and will mot even remedy it even if we have an extended warranty. Here is a link to the discussion thread: [XXX] I have not posted on this thread but I have the exact same issue for years. Toyota dealerships want me to first pay $100
... 0 in labor to pull down the headliner and test. Then ask the warranty to cover the assembly, if they don't cover it... then I am on the hook for the work. The missing seam sealer is a common issue that will not manifest inside the 3yr / 36k mile warranty. My issue started around 2020 that I noticed and every dealership would not help me other than place a large burden on me. This can impact the electrical and the airbag curtains. The issue needs to have a seal sealer added to the sunroof assembly as the fix. As a family vehicle, this is a dangerous issue for multiple occupants in a single 7 or 8 person hauler minivan. Please ask Toyota remedy this issue that has been going on for over a decade. Please ask them to stop forcing customers to have sunroofs and panoroofs... when they can't build it correctly.
